I was initially anxious about getting a trainer because I worried they might be too intense or pushy, but Mike was the complete opposite. He’s incredibly supportive, patient, and never judgmental. He encourages me every day without making me feel pressured. On days when my body was sore or tired, he listened and adjusted the workout accordingly. Training with Mike has been a great experience that made me feel comfortable.

Two years later and I’m editing my review- joining The Gym has been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Mike has provided the consistency and confidence I needed to build skills (and muscles) that I can maintain. He has been the steady support I needed to get into shape.

A couple of years ago, I purchased a home gym that pretty much immediately became a laundry rack. EVERY time I would find the motivation to attempt to use it, I would end up hurting myself or burning out quickly. I needed help on so many levels. In August, The Gym had a promotion, (I think it was 3 sessions for $50.00?). I had run out of excuses. ( I don't know what I'm doing, I will get hurt, I'm disabled so I won't be able to use the machines, I can't afford it etc)
I set up a meet and greet with Mike, and booked my sessions that same day. I am so glad I did!!!! If you are on the fence, read the other reviews, they are all true! Even though my home gym is no longer only a laundry rack, I still go to THE GYM a couple times a week for the motivation and support.
C'mon, if "a Karen" can't find anything negative to say, what have you got to lose? :P

Trained here for a few years when I was living in the area. I started because I couldn’t exercise without hurting myself and I had too much anxiety to go to a larger gym. With Mike’s help I got myself into shape and even learned to enjoy exercising.
Mike is professional, affordable, and positive without being patronizing or condescending. He understands how people are different and will figure out a training routine that works for you. Check the stack of degrees and certificates by the door to see the knowledge he backs his experience up with, or just talk to him, he’d probably crack a joke about checking his bonafides when he was standing right there and you could just ask him.

I've been working out with Mike for over a year now. He's helped me get into the best shape I've been in since high school, over 20 years ago. He's a great teacher and resource, always answering any and all of my questions, giving detailed explanations on why we're doing the workouts he plans and develops. I asked The first waiter we had when we got to the area (who looked like he worked out) where to go for a trainer.
Without hesitation he said: "The Gym in Roscoe is the best! Talk to Mike." Looking back, he was right.
I had a lapse in physical health post pandemic and knew a trainer is what I needed: I have a tendency to sometimes "over-do" physical activities, sometimes to my own detriment.
Mike understood my predicament, took me in, and guided me back to a healthy workout routine.
Besides form, posture and appropriately progressing my weight capacities and reps, Mike also freely answered all my questions on a diet that would help me maintain energy levels and weight loss.
I highly recommend Mike at The Gym!
Even though, at first, I balked a little at the cost, being the first time needing a trainer, I will be returning 2-3 times a year for a 10 sessions of personalized guided rejuvenation.
I quickly realized THE BENEFITS with Mike are most definitely worth it; the rates are accurately priced for the amount of attention to my individual needs. Very grateful, no regrets!

Mike and Jenny are more than just two of the best personal trainers out there, but also the kindest, supportive, and helpful people I know! Yes, they will teach you different exercises and how to do them properly, but they also will teach about nutrition, how to set and reach your goals, and various other life lessons.
I have gained nearly 30 pounds and become much stronger than I was since I started my journey here. And while this was my goal, I’ve seen them do the exact opposite for others and help them lose 30 pounds if that’s what they wanted! They have helped people with very little hope in themselves, not only reach, but surpass any goal or expectations they may have had!
Today, after over a year of going to them, was my last day coming here as I will be moving away. It was truly saddening to walk out of these doors for the last time. Mike and Jenny, I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me. If you have any hesitation on coming here, stop what you’re doing and call now! You won’t regret it!

Your health is ultimately up to you and what you’re willing to do, but if you’re looking for one-on-one personal training, The Gym is a great place to go. Owner Mike Weber will listen to your goals and work with you to accomplish them. And it doesn’t stop when your session is over. Mike has been incredibly helpful every time I have a question. He runs monthly challenges to keep his clients motivated and drum up some friendly competition. And he brings all of his clients together from time to time so that we can get to know other like-minded local folks! Even if you think personal training isn’t for you, I encourage you to send Mike a text…it became a surprisingly good fit for me immediately!

I can’t recommend The Gym enough. I had worked out at a gym by myself in years past but had put it on the back burner and hadn’t been in one in about 3 years. Ready to make it a priority again but intimidated to start back up again in a big gym, I stopped in for a tour at The Gym. It’s the perfect fit for me. I like that it’s one on one and that the workouts are personalized to you and what you’re looking to accomplish. It helps me to have a scheduled time to workout and knowing that I have an appointment holds me accountable to make sure I show up. It’s not intimidating at all, it’s a very friendly, laid back and positive atmosphere. Mike motivates and encourages you to do more all while making sure it’s within your limits and challenging but fun. I have been going to The Gym for over 2 years now. The trainers here are great. They work with you and for you to get you to your goals. I had a stroke about 2 1/2 years ago which greatly affected my balance, stamina, and confidence. On Christmas Day, 2021, I shattered my ankle and was bed bound for over 3 months. Even though I was a regular gym-goer in the past, I knew that I needed some one on one help to try and regain some “normality” in my life. On a whim, I stopped into The Gym to see what it was all about. That turned out to be a great decision! I work out with Mike 3x a week. He always stands by my side to help maintain my balance and has me doing a variety of different exercises from strength training to cardio. The work out is designed for me and my needs and most importantly is affordable (something I thought impossible!) I recommend The Gym to anyone, no matter what fitness level you’re at and I look forward to what continued success I undoubtedly will achieve in the future!

Trying out the Gym was one of the best decisions of my life! Mike knew the exact progression I needed to tone my body and build more muscle. During this process he reminded me results don’t come in weeks. It’s all about being consistent, and trusting the process. I started in November 2021 and in three months I was stronger, could see more muscle and definition in my sides, back, neck, shoulders, and legs. Just in three months I was so proud of myself and didn’t want to stop! After another three months went by I just took my second set of pictures to check my results and I’m blown away how much more muscle and definition I have. Mike knows where to start you off, how long to do certain workouts for, and what workouts are best for you and your body. I feel more confident in myself, stronger, and have more energy. It has also helped relieve stress from my life. Most people say I’m glowing, not just physically but mentally it shows! Not only does Mike know what he’s doing but he’s great at motivating you during your workouts. When it gets tough, he’s right there to push you through it. His fun energy also makes it enjoyable just to be there. His partner Jenny is amazing too! Just like Mike, she knows exactly what’s best for you and what’s going to get you the results you want. When Mike is out of town, I’m so great full Jenny trains me so I don’t have to miss out. They both do a great job helping you with your nutrition. Lastly, I couldn’t believe how long I’ve been lifting wrong when I would workout by myself. It has been so nice to learn how to lift the right way so you work the muscles you’re wanting. I highly recommend The Gym!!!

I have worked out at several different facilities. When I worked out on my own, there were many times I gave it a casual effort and I got minimal results. I also found myself finding reasons for not going at all. I started going to The Gym looking for more structure and guidance and that is exactly what I found. I look forward to going knowing that each time will be a bit different than the last. I show up for my appointment and a workout has already been planned for me. Adjustments are made to the workout depending on how I’m feeling that day.

I walked into The Gym after years of self-destructive behavior--Mike Weber Met me where I was At. He did not want to hear any excuses--only why I was there and what my goals were.
Mike identified my needs/injuries and adapted the programming so I could train safely instead of the push through the pain mentality I was accustomed to -I was able to squat with a weighted barbell with no pain --it was incredible!
In just a few months I am happier, healthier, stronger, and I am also down over 30 pounds! I cant thank him enough. I look forward to each training session. His smart, no nonsense training has me well on my way to hitting my goals, Thank you Mike and Jenny for truly caring about your clients and meeting us where we are at ! You are the best!

Been going to Jenny and mike for about a month and half not knowing much about working out and trying to leave for the marines. I couldn’t do a single push up correctly when I first started and barley could do 20 sit ups. My strength was terrible and my diet was awful. After going to them I’m up to 23 push ups 55+ crunches and my strength is a ton better than I first started. They are very patient with you and will teach you stuff about your own body and give you very helpful tips on diet that you never knew of. 15/10 recommend going to them. They are highly skilled and very passionate about what they do
