I’ve been doing private sessions with Jia for over a year now, and she is by far the best Pilates instructor I’ve ever worked with. After moving away from Chicago, I tried many other studios and instructors and still haven’t found anyone who compares. I always make sure to book a session with her whenever I’m back in town. Her sessions are always challenging, fun, and different, and she always finds new and creative ways to challenge the body. The studio is incredibly spacious and beautiful and has different rooms for group cadillac+reformer classes, mat, gyrotonics and private sessions. If you're looking for a pilates studio, I highly recommend Jia and the sol room!

I’m a pilates instructor from LA, visited Jia’s studio for the first time. I’m blown away at 1) how cute the studio is (but also highly functional) and 2) how much of a good instructor Jia is!! I started practicing Pilates with Jia in July 2025 to relieve my back pain and improve my flexibility. Jia is a fantastic instructor — always encouraging and pushing me to do my best in the most supportive way. Over time, I’ve noticed I have much better control over my body, and my back pain has improved significantly. Her new studio is spacious, bright, and has a great atmosphere. After having gone to a yoga class with my daughter on a girls trip to Cabo, she made me promise to sign up for a few Pilates classes when I returned to Chicago. I interviewed several instructors and decided to go with Jia. At that time I was in physical therapy for back issues related to sciatica surgery. I was terribly out of balance. After encouragement from my physical therapist, I went to my first session. I was terribly out of balance, inflexible and skeptical when I walked in the door but on my walk home after the session, I felt different. I was more balanced. I felt taller. And, most importantly, I didn’t hurt. So I went back to Jia the following week and every week there after. I no longer have to go to physical therapy. Jia told me from the beginning that she could correct what was causing my problems. And she has. I can’t say enough about this skilled young professional. She has improved my life.

I started private class with Jia about six months ago, after trying many different instructors in the past. What sets Jia apart is her incredible ability to identify exactly what each person needs and tailor a plan specifically for them. Since training with her, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my body—I'm getting much stronger, my lower back pain has significantly reduced, and I’ve become much more aware of how to activate the right muscles during exercises. This is a wonderful space for anyone who wants to relax their mind and burn energy at the same time. I have scoliosis which caused my back pain for a while. Jia at Sol Room helped me with my back problem by combing Pilates and physical therapy techniques. She helped me build a better posture and get my muscles worked out to support my spine. Overall, highly recommended for those who are struggled with any body issues.

The Sol Room is absolutely stunning! This studio is truly one of a kind in Chicago, with a Cadillac studio, mat studio, and private studio. The space is so beautifully designed and thoughtfully curated!! Most importantly, Jia is an incredible Pilates instructor. I’ve been taking private Pilates sessions with Jia since I was two months pregnant, and now I’m two months postpartum. Jia is by far the most professional instructor I’ve ever worked with. I’d tried a few other teachers before, but Jia stands out because she truly dedicates her full attention to you during every session. I started taking Jia’s Pilates classes in 2023 when I was pregnant. From day one, Jia was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, helping me safely build strength in preparation for labor and delivery. Thanks to her guidance, I had a smooth delivery and a quick recovery.

I'm so excited for the Sol Room to be open! It's a beautiful space that gives of a sense of calm and peace, but don't let that fool you into thinking any of Jia's classes are easy! Jia's knowledge of Pilates and movement along side her deep understanding of the body and its mechanics are simply incredible. She can fire up even the smallest muscles to make the exercise so incredibly effective. Great location, easy parking for this part of the city.

On Jia as an instructor: I have studied pilates for several years, but began taking class with Jia in summer of 2025. She is unlike any other instructor I have worked with! Her deep knowledge of anatomy / form and strong attention to detail makes me get so much more out of every exercise. I've learned so much from her and have been able to apply her principles to other workouts (yoga, Studio Lagree, Pure Barre, etc.) as well. Could not recommend her enough!
