I thoroughly enjoyed my Shiatsu massage from
Ry! To start, Ry has lovely energy that put me at ease and made it easy to communicate through the session. They did a great job of being responsive and adapting to my particular needs. The massage itself was a great experience where I could really feel both emotional and muscle release, and Ry has a great knack for identifying areas that will be particularly impactful. I strongly recommend!

Shiatsu massage - great experience, Ryan is very skilled in the Shiatsu techniques, very attentive and good listener. Their hands are very strong but they adjusted the pressure based on my feedback. Ryan also gave me exercise and herbal recommendations based on their assessment. The flow of the massage was smooth which helps create a feeling of well being. Highly recommended!

An urgent situation led me to look for help from a Personal Trainer and good fortune led me to Turtle Fitness and Ryan. The 5 months of working with Turtle Fitness has already started a process that I think will help me succeed in necessary improvement and progress toward a life-saving goal (I don’t exaggerate). Ryan is patient, understanding, flexible and able to share his impressive knowledge in clear instruction.About half a year working with Ryan has given me more strength, better balance and the hope for success. I've been training one-on-one with Ryan for a while and have really enjoyed working with him. He's a great listener and calming presence who's helped me to establish a routine customized to my fitness goals and the quirks of my body. I've been working with Ryan for several weeks now - I couldn't recommend him more strongly. I'm an injury-prone person who's barely ever been inside a gym before and my sessions with Ryan got me comfortable enough to try more things on my own too. He's very knowledgable, takes things steadily and slowly - it really helped keep me from feeling overwhelmed but also able to really see progress. He's so personable and pleasant to have sessions with - he really makes it low-stress and fun! He's also taught me a lot about how to protect my neck and back and really focus on good form to help me build the strength to run regularly.
I also want to add - one of my favourite things about working with Ryan is that we have spent exactly 0 minutes talking about weight / fat loss.

I've been working with Ryan for the last few weeks and really happy with our sessions! He's taught me a lot of new/fun compound movements. He's very receptive to feedback and very encouraging. You can tell he's extremely knowledgeable and familiar with the human body/muscles. I really like how he explains each movement and what muscles they work, but he's also picky about proper form which I appreciate. I like how the exercises he teaches are more focused on balance and calisthenics, and are full body movements, and in my opinion are more fun to learn than just how to use a weight machine. One of my goals is to do 3 pulls ups and I know I've already shown a lot of improvement with that! I'm looking forward to our future sessions! If you are looking for a personal trainer, would definitely recommend!

I found Ryan through a neighborhood Facebook post where he said he was a Trauma aware, HAES (Health At Any Size) informed, gender inclusive trainer and I thought... those EXIST??? in Chicago??? SIGN ME UP!
If you are looking for a trainer who's primary goal is NOT to shrink your body, are looking for someone who is intuitive, kind, and will meet you where you are, you will find your ideal trainer in Ryan. My biggest goal in working with Ryan is to make stronger mind and body connections. We worked together to find a combination of strength and mobility, as well as music and prompt guided movement... a modality I was introduced at a retreat at Esalen in Big Sur, and was sorely missing upon returning home to Chicago. Ryan's movement sessions with me (over Zoom! I can wiggle, bend, stretch, move and twirl in my own space!) have deepened my mind-body connection, and help me focus on what my body needs that day/week/month to feel it's best.
I can confidently say that if you let him know your goals, your limitations, and your preferred way to move and physically nourish yourself, he'll find a way to work with you in an open, honest, and non-judgmental way. Give him a try!

My partner and I have been seeing Ryan for about five months and it's been a great experience so far. Ryan always makes sure to meet us where we are each session, asking how we're doing physically and emotionally before deciding on the routine for the day.
I really appreciate his focus on health, strength, and healing rather than any physical goals and he always makes me feel like whatever I bring to the session that day is enough. He's also very knowledgeable and always happy to answer my questions or do follow up research on anything I'm curious about.
This has been my first experience with a personal trainer and I've been really happy with how it's gone so far.
On top of that, his communication and reliability have been top notch.
I would definitely recommend Ryan's services if you're looking for a great workout experience that combines an understanding of having off days with knowing when to push you to achieve your best self.

Turtle Power Fitness has helped me feel in control of my body again. My mobility has improved drastically in just a couple months. Ryan is a fantastic trainer and resource for me. He is patient and helps me go at a pace that my body is comfortable. He explains the movements clearly and always demonstrates first. When I recently had a hip flexor that was injured he had me stop that part of the warmup until it healed and then showed me how to modify things when it flares up. I have gained a ton of confidence and strength in our 10 sessions!!!
If I was indepenfently wealthy , I would hire Ryan to train me 3 hours every day! Wonderful trainer, great style, and I am seeing results relatively quickly.

Ryan's personal training style is empathic, supportive and based on solid knowledge about how the systems of the body and mind work together. I came to my first session with a goal and a lot of apprehension due to a repeated shoulder injuries. Ryan was able to quickly assess what exercises would target the trouble area and build strength in order to protect the shoulder joints. The total body workouts and balance exercises prepared me for my first major (to me anyway) hike at 56. Always keeping my anxiety and my goal in mind he created challenging yet safe routines. I always leave the gym having had a great workout and a few laughs and some new knowledge about how my body works and why. I reached my original goal of walking the 280 km Portuguese Coastal Trail of the Camino De Santiago de Compostela carrying a full pack and walking as much as 18 miles a day for 2 weeks. I needed the training, motivation and focus Ryan provided to help me achieve this. I've continued on with Ryan and Turtle Power Fitness and am setting new goals. It's really satisfying to see my fitness, energy level and self-confidence increasing daily. This training is an investment in myself that is paying off in every way and I'm looking forward to my 100 session celebration.

When my Dexa Scan results threatened my very active lifestyle , I took matters into my own hands.I had no desire to begin taking osteoporosis drugs. After much research I was troubled by possible side affects. Enter my life Ryan Moore.
Together we began a rigorous routine with the goal of strengthening my bones. Ryan creates the workout, watches every move , correcting as we move through each rep. In December I left for Florida for the winter. Now what? Workouts by Zoom! We continued through out the season never skipping a beat, improvising if we needed to.
I look forward to my next scan to see much improved results. In the beginning 5# was a struggle to lift. Now 15# is Doable. Ryan is the answer to building bone strength.

Ryan helped me craft an at-home workout routine during the pandemic, it was honestly life-saving. He’s coached me both on zoom, and in-person. Super professional, and he’s got a ton of knowledge about body mechanics and training people with injuries. It’s been cool to learn about.
He helped me incorporate functional flexibility training and cardio (which I’ve always wanted to do - but have been struggling to forever). I feel like my work with him has done a lot for injury-prevention and keeping me pain free. Basically, I can’t recommend working with him enough. He has helped me figure out how to train to keep doing all the things I wanna do (dancing, rock climbing, weightlifting, yadda yadda) for a long time.
