We’ve taken our daughter to Ultimate Gymnastics in Gurnee for two summers in a row—first for their younger kids’ class, and more recently for the 2–4 year old class and we’ve loved every minute of it! It’s been such a joy to watch her gain confidence and grow in her abilities. From jumping and running to exploring the parallel bars, she’s learned so many things we could never have taught her without the expert instruction and caring support from the Ultimate team. The coaches are encouraging, energetic, and make every class fun and engaging. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Ultimate Gymnastics to any family looking for a positive and enriching experience for their child!

We recently hosted our child’s birthday party at this gymnastics facility and had a fantastic experience. The space was clean, bright, and spacious, with all new equipment that looked and felt very safe. The gym offered a wide range of activities that kept the kids constantly engaged, from fun obstacle courses to age-appropriate games. The staff were outstanding—organized, attentive, and clearly experienced with working with children. The party room setup was also excellent—plenty of room for kids and adults, and everything was ready for us when it was time to eat and do cake. It was a stress-free, fun-filled celebration, and our child and their friends had a blast. We would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking to host an energetic, well-run birthday party in a great environment.

This place is a rip off, my daughter had to stop due to a medical condition, I paid for a full month and only got credited for one class, I paid for three. I was told they don’t give refunds and or credits on classes missed. Mind you she only went to one class before she started having problems with her legs. Once she was cleared by her doctor I asked if we could get credit for the month she missed for the summer program. Again I was told no. That’s crazy over $200 in the garbage. She didn’t miss it because we didn’t want to go and I was clear on that. They can keep my money obviously they need it more than I do. We will not be back. Make sure you’re kid goes to all scheduled classes or you’ll lose your money!

ULTIMATE FUN FOR GYMNASIUM ENTHUSIASTS!!

We attended two birthday parties hosted here. Kids had a blast. The hosts and helping members were very helpful. Nice set up and tour from obstacle courses. Highly recommend this place to kids who love gymnastics. Come and check it out.

My daughters came to Ultimate when they were in grade school and middle school. It was fun for them while they learned skills they still use today at 21 and 24. I enrolled my 5 year old granddaughter in the beginners class. She started today. She was so excited to start, the instructor kept her engaged, and she was still smiling at the end of the class.

Horrible director! Hostile person when trying to switch my daughter to another evening. She even sarcastically told my daughter I’m sorry you have to go because of your mom. Seriously!!

The classes for younger kids are not as exciting as other gymnastics locations and they didn't hold attention. Debbie and her daughter were about the coldest, crude, and rude ladies I've tried to organize with.

I found them to be rude and insensitive and the youth programs to be no age appropriate. I was looking into a gymnastics class for my 2 year old soon to be 3 after having taking my son to the Little Gym in Gurnee for over a year. The flow of the Little Gym class was child lead and it was very child friendly. I called to see what the Ultimate Gymnastics class was going to look like. I mentioned I didn't think my son was ready for waiting in a line and the lady said oh he's a runner we force runners to stay in the line and suggested I need an special needs aide for $50 extra...We took our class to another gym...no aide.

We have been coming here since 2015....it's a okay gym for the children... the teachers are ok...the prices are kinda steep but it's worth it bc I see my children improving on their skills .
the reason for the two stars...
I feel like they lack good customer service....if you miss practices for a while they don't check up on you...you are kind of just another number to them. I think they should take the time to know all of their customers (especially for regulars) and at least try to check on them periodically. I've been to other gyms that will check on you and your child. I mean this is the Midwest and those gyms I've been to in the past are down south so idk. But as others mentioned it seems as though all they care about is MONEY.

This place care only for your payment. Sorry to say that but it is true. My daughter was taking one class 5 times. After the 3rd time I talked to the coach and I asked to help my daughter to pass this class. Nothing. After the 4th time I talked to different coach. I showed her my daughter score card with things to improve. Nothing. After the 5th time I again talked to the coach and .... you know the story. When they failed my daughter fifth time I decided to talk to the management. Management was not available at that time so I ask to pass my comment. Management called me next day saying that I was 'making staff uncomfortable'. Nothing was addressed. Nothing was improved. They instructed me to talk to them first .... not the staff. So .... today my daughter is not attending the facility. She still loves gymnastic but not the way she used to ..... She was practicing .... working on the staff she learned. Not anymore. They killed her spirit! So, in overall, I say this place is terrible .... they only care for your payments/money. That's all.

My daughter loves this place. She's been attending sessions for the last two years. Coaches are nice, she seems to be learning a lot and having fun. Price is affordable compared to other gyms, and I have no complaints that would make me stop taking her.

Addressing some of the comments from other reviewers, it is true the gym has a BO smell but so do all the other gymnastics gyms I've been to so I guess this doesn't really bother me. It's also true the viewing area has limited seating, but the problem is really parents bringing in their extended family (grandma, grandpa, all the siblings) to watch their kid practice. There would be a decent number of seats otherwise. I just wait in my car or go to the mall when it's too crowded. It's nice to watch her practice sometimes, but it's also good not to hover every single week. And yes, parking is horrible, but there's really nowhere for them to expand more spaces unless they move to a new building. Sometimes you have to wait for a space to open up, but it all seems to work out in time for her session.

If any of the cons above is important to you then you should probably look elsewhere, but I can deal with all this as long as my daughter is learning in a safe environment and getting our money's worth.
