Be very careful with this gym’s billing practices!

I was a member for the past few months and called to cancel my membership well before the next billing cycle. Despite this, I was still charged. I followed up multiple times, trying to resolve the issue, but the owner kept delaying a solution. Eventually, he stopped responding entirely and even blocked (at least I can’t call him) my number without offering any explanation or refund.

After reading more reviews, I realized this seems to be a pattern. Many people have had similar issues with being charged after cancellation and struggling to get any support. It’s disappointing to see how careless the owner is about their clients — the lack of professionalism and accountability here is a serious red flag.

I paid cash for one month, guy at front desk accepted the money and said we need a card on file, I asked I don’t want nothing charged on this card I will pay cash monthly if I want to continue, he goes reassured me saying we just need a card on file we won’t charge you anything, my membership ended, a month passes and I get charged from my card, I called and they said all purchases is final no refund, I said ok just make sure my member ship is cancelled they said ok, a month passes by and I get charged $75 again , I called and they refunded me the $75, a month goes by and I don’t get charged , the second montj goes by and I get charged $75 again, I’m confused as to why do they keep old information, and why do they keep charging me when I’m no longer a member

The instructors are professional boxers and are ripped. Everyone who comes to the gym is in extremely good shape and are serious about fitness. I randomly joined the gym
because I live close by; I had no idea I would get hooked. I get a lot of positive energy from the instructors and the other members of the gym. I am in the gym at least 5 times a week to get my endorphin high. Boxing is not just a physical workout for me, it has really helped with my mental health. I think everyone should try it!

The gym is outstanding. All of the staff I interacted with personally were great and helpful. Whoever owns this gym is terrible though. I called in early February, before I was to be charged for that month, to cancel my membership. The person who answered, which was their main number and whom I believe is the owner, told me my membership was cancelled. I was then charged a few days later for February. I called and no one answered. Then came March. Same song and dance. Then April. And in late April, I finally got ahold of someone, from the exact same number, who, when asked if I could speak to someone about cancelling my membership and getting a refund for the previous months, said “Yea he stepped out but call back in about 30 minutes.” So I did. No response. Voicemails have been left. I’ve called plenty more times. Whoever the owner of this gym is has now taken over $200 from me. I want my refund and to stop being charged. This apparently has been an ongoing issue for at least a year, as I’ve seen with other reviews. Refund me.

Went to this gym for about a year and can't say enough great things about it. The classes are great and the coaches are friendly and helpful. Only reason we left was because we left the state. Started as a complete novice and it was a great entry into the sport, the strength and conditioning classes were also just a great way to get in shape.

The classes here are great! Both the strength training classes and boxing classes are fun, with coaches who are welcoming and knowledgeable. Approachable for people of any athletic/fitness ability. Definitely my favorite gym experience in Chicago :)

After looking for different gym throughout the city.
I finally found a real boxing gym with realistic approach to the sports called “sweat science”
“Aisling Holt” was my coach on my first class.
Knowledge kindness discipline passion attention to detail.
Definitely a place to visit and learn more about the sport of boxing.
The Chandelier and the ring makes you feel like you are inside a movie where the main star it’s you.
All ages are welcome. Man and woman here everyone works hard.
Five stars gym.

This review is for instructor Aisling Holt specifically. If you need a super intense workout, sign up with her. She does not mess around. She puts so much preparation and thought into our workouts. I've never met a trainer like that before. She is enjoyable to be around for the whole hour (she is a deep thinker but also funny), even if my body is really not happy about the workout. It's happy afterward! The gym itself is nice, airy, clean, well-maintained. Parking is easy out front, too.

I'm going to keep this brief and echo some of the other 1 star reviews here. Horrible customer service. Repeated monthly charges after cancellation of a no contract membership. Been dealing with this for 4-5 months now. Someone answered my email the first time I inquired about it and then never again. Called multiple times and was told the card would be deleted and money refunded in total. Didn't happen.

Its a shame, because this is a fun gym, with good trainers. But unless you plan on working out here for the rest of your life, good luck trying to cancel and/or getting your money back.

READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH: Beware of payments being run after you cancel. Owner will lie straight to your face about returning your money and try convince you it's all been returned.

I asked to have my membership put on hold and when I checked in a month later I was told it was actually cancelled. Then, two months later in May '23 , I received a charge from Unanimous and the following month (June '23)I was charged another time. I tried to reach the owner several times at his PERSONAL number which I was given and told to use-texts, voice mails...NO response-NOT ONE. In the interim I e-mailed-no answer. I called no answer. I went in person to the Logan Square location and was told by the coach to PHYSICALLY hunt down Trinidad, the owner, at the Loop gym and try to catch him there (ridiculous-why should chase someone down for money you stole from me). The coach texted Trinidad at the same number that I had called prior and I got a response and a promise for a refund. One month got returned and the other did not. Again, I went through the same rigamarole and one day I happened to stop into the gym in person again ...and who should be there, but Trinidad. When I confronted him about not receiving the other refund he assured me his "team" had already refunded everything and the matter was closed. That was a lie and I pulled up my bank account to assure him his "team" still owed me money. I told him I had called, messaged multiple times and he then proceeded to tell me how he had just gotten his phone number back and working that day(straight up lied to my face, one of the coaches had texted him in my presence weeks prior and Trinidad had responded right away). The best part is that he said his "team" works out of the west coast so he couldn't reach them yet but in the next couple hours I would be getting the refund and if not, to text him. SURE ENOUGH- didn't get a refund. I texted Trinidad. It's been a week. No response to this day. I'm done.

The staff at Unanimous boxing gym truly create a rejuvenating environment built for process and growth; thus I recommend this gym to anyone looking to learn or hone their skills in boxing and strength training. My only feedback is that I wish there were more open hours for autonomous training. Nevertheless the gym membership here gives you access to both Unanimous boxing locations, which is a great deal. I prefer training where anyone can, and here anyone can train here. The spaces are kept clean and the range of equipment is top quality.

I had a phenomenal experience with coaches at Unanimous Boxing Gym, they are professional, engaged, and quite focused on each of their students, making sure that you are really understanding everything and learning properly!!! I Strongly recommend this place!

Cute, clean and huge. Fake wood floors. I guess it's a aerobic exercise place with bags. No kicking allowed except one bag. Not for Muay Thai, kick boxing or boxers. But, nice exercise class.

My daughter has been in their youth classes for 3 1/2 years. It's a great class for children! They have done a tremendous job with my daughter. Josh, Caitlin, Aisling, and Geovanny all are great with kids.

I love this gym and highly recommend it to all my friends who are looking for a great place to work out in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. They train everyone from professional boxers to classes for kids and the clientele is very diverse. I really enjoy that they have male and female coaches and that everyone is welcome. They have all the cardio equipment you need and a variety of classes. And the chandelier is a cool touch! Plus it's clean, well run and easy to park.

I've been attending UBG for well over a year now and it has been a wonderful blessing for me. The training is top notch and the skill level they have to teach you is incredible. Schenk, Josh, and April are all great to work with and will each bring a unique element to challenge you on a regular basis. If you're looking for a workout, to relieve stress, and have fun you'll be good to go at this gym!

This place is great I have been going here for a month and the staff is very nice it is a clean gym and youth boxing trainers like mr.josh and ms.Ashley ps I am a kid have devolved me as an execpectional boxer. They make us work really hard and I have gotten along with other kids there. They have so much bags that differ what punches u want to work on. The ring is so nice and they have added some much little pieces that make the place look awesome. For Example: Lockers, The chandelier, floors. The boxing also has a gym that you can work out in. For ADULT USE ONLY Lol. And they just had their first Amatuer fight night. They also have tvs that you can look-and-learn from professional boxers. Now onto the people who put bad reviews on this boxing gym. YOU GUYS ARE TRASH! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT THIS BOXING GYM IS BAD! I have been attending this gym for about 6 months and I've been nothing but impressed. Never have I ever felt more at home and like part of a community than when I walk in the doors. Everyone knows me by name and are sincerely happy to see me. The classes are challenging, but the trainers have great modifications for beginners. The variety of classes offered in combination with the gym equipment present allows me to be continuously engaged with working out. If you're looking for a great place to work out, give Unanimous a try!

Wow what an experience. When I think of Boxing Gym’s I think of dark dirty places. But this place is clean as can be. The professionalism of the trainers and front desk staff is top notch. I feel like every time I go the owner is always adding new stuff equipment classes etc. I have been part of the gym for over a year now and I cannot see myself leaving.

Unfortunately I am giving Unanimous boxing 1 star. I enrolled my son for classes last year on a $99 month-to-month basis WITHOUT a contract. He has been struggling with health issues the past 6 months and has not been able to make class. To my disbelief, my credit card on file was still being charged $99 a month for the past 6 months he was not in attendance. A total of $600! I am very saddened that management allowed this to happen and said my situation was unfortunate. I, along with my Mother and other family members currently have yearly contracts and still, no one at Unanimous willing to help. So we will no longer be renewing our contracts. I hope no one else falls victim to their billing miscommunication.

Great Roster of coaches that all train differently. Variety allows you get the most out of the boxing experience. Surplus of resources makes the gym feel incredibly accommodating. Separate weight room with showers and speed bags are a plus. Already shed some pounds and feel more confident.
