Love this gym, especially this location. Saturday 11/29 I had to take an Uber to the gym and bring my daughters birthday gifts with me for her party later that day. The young lady at the desk ( forgot her name ) took the gifts and put them in a back room for me so I could work out. Staff is great so is the environment.

I absolutely LOVE this gym. Within the span of 6 months, this center has become my 2nd home. For the price, you really can’t beat the value.
Not to mention, I’ve meet some amazing people here. Allen (one of the Vasa employees) is someone I see frequently working early mornings. This guy is always so friendly, gives me some motivation when I don’t feel like being there at 6am, and has always been so helpful anytime I needed assistance or had a question. If you need anything, he’s your guy!
If you’re looking for a new gym to try, I highly encourage you to try VASA. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. :)

My husband and I have been members for over a year now. He’s the main member and I’m added as his guest, which should make check-ins simple. Instead, almost every single day the process is a mess. Some days they tell us he needs to send me a guest pass, other days they say it only needs to be done once a month, and the rules keep changing. There’s absolutely no consistency, and it starts our workouts with unnecessary frustration.
What makes it worse is that they took my photo and added it to their system. Every day I give my phone number, my photo pops up, and despite that, they still ask for my ID and take additional time verifying me. It’s the same staff seeing the same two people, my husband and me, every single day. It’s not like they don’t recognize us.
It really ruins the overall experience of coming to the gym. We love working out, but the check-in process here is honestly the worst part of our day. We genuinely hope they fix this system and create a smoother, more consistent process for members.

Heyyyooo, I usually don’t leave a gym 5 stars. I’m simply here to get my gains and leave.
But I couldn’t help but stop and talk to Allen at the front desk.
Coming from a salesman, Allen is by far the most outgoing front desk associate I’ve ever met. He stops to say hi, ask how your workout was before you leave. And if you didn’t get the pump you needed, he’ll push you for tomorrow.

I am at Vasa by 5am 4X a week. Morning staff always greet me with a genuine smile especially Alen who always brings a warm environment early mornings. I love that the restrooms are always clean and overall a great year with my Vasa membership. Highly recommend this gym!

Last month I was attacked in the locker room here & fully got victim blamed by the staff getting me arrested. I got autism & they don't have any training or protection for people like me. Vasa canceled my membership immediately too then charged me $50 to cancel it. If you have any disabilities, avoid this gym at all costs.

When this gym first opened, it was fantastic. Unfortunately, the quality has dipped. While the space is good, the equipment is frequently disorganized, making workouts less efficient. Most notably, the hand attachments for the cable machines are excessively worn and should be replaced immediately. Better organization and equipment maintenance would make a huge difference.

I finally joined VASA after moving from Naperville to Oswego, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but even though it was pretty crowded, it was the good kind of crowded—people were focused, working hard, and creating great energy in the space.
When I walked in, Allen had me at hello. No matter how busy it was, he greeted me with a genuine smile, remembered my tour, and even checked in after my first Studio Red class. Customer service isn’t dead after all! It is refreshing to meet someone who not only represents the brand well but also values people and their experience.
Big shoutout to my instructor Mindy for introducing me to VASA—and another to Allen for setting the tone the moment I walked in. Keep up the great work!

I have been a proud member of VASA for almost a year. VASA truly lives by its core values — dedication, integrity, and community. The facility is always clean, the atmosphere is motivating, and the sense of support is unmatched.
I especially want to recognize Kris and Milton.
Kris always greets members with incredible energy always making members feel welcomed and supported. He consistentlydemonstrates professionalism and genuine care for everyone who walks through the door.
Last spring, I had a little mishap on the treadmill — I fell because I didn’t really know how to use it yet. Kris immediately came to my rescue, called 911, and made sure I was safe and cared for. I’ll never forget that kindness or how calm and supportive he was in that moment.
When I came back a few months later, I walked in and saw Chris at the front desk. He threw his hands up with a big smile and cheered, “You’re back!” It absolutely made my day. I think about that every time I walk through those doors — it’s something that will stay with me for a long time.
From the very first session, I knew Milton was a special kind of trainer. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and patient, always explaining how each exercise helps me improve my strength and overall fitness.
He truly embodies what a great trainer should be: skilled, supportive, and passionate about helping people become their best selves.
VASA is not just a gym, it’s a place where people truly care. It’s a community that lifts you up, celebrates your progress, and makes you feel valued every time you walk through the door. It is my happy place.

I come to this gym to swim in the pool. The water in the pool is freezing, it's impossible to swim, only to toughen up. The women's locker room is very dirty. I've never seen it cleaned. There's trash and hair everywhere. There are no hair dryers. It's okay in the summer you could go with wet hair, but now it's already cold. You have to bring your own hair dryer. There are never any napkins in the women's locker room.

Vasa is great but would be better if they didn’t publicly advocate for the death of innocent lives. They promote the news every single day. Have multiple news channels on here. Since when was the gym supposed to be political? I come here to workout, not to watch the news and see ice raids, and more of Israel’s agenda. This review should not be censored and it is clearly displayed at the gym every single day. Do better. This place should be all inclusive. Unless you are willing to make a statement that you support ice and Israel’s agenda.

I’ve been a member of Vasa since the gym opened last year in April. I have truly found a community of great people at the gym with same goals as me. I have loved having some great instructors and the classes. I religiously attend 5:30 am classes, which include Studio Red with Irina, Jordan. I have taken mid- day classes with Mindy and Greta, and Studio Flow with Danielle, Leslie and Julianna. On Sundays, love staring out with Rob for Studio Red and finishing off with Diane for Deep stretch and Restore.

I love VASA! I started six months ago, a little apprehensive, as I had not been to group exercise for years. The crew at VASA are incredible. Cecelia in aquatics, Cindy in Silver Sneakers, Rosa, McKenna, CC and Susan in yoga all give me great workouts. And friendly - it's like you are in class with your friends. I love going to my classes. All my experiences with all the employees at VASA have been positive. Every single employee is helpful and friendly. Rob is phenomenal - he seems to put his whole heart and soul into that place. Rib is very personable and treats everyone like a friend. I highly recommend!!

I started going to Vasa over a year ago and go almost daily. The staff is amazing and kid care is top notch. My kids love Lizzie, Emma and Brandi and consider them friends. I love the variety of classes they offer and that all the different coaches and trainers will show you alternative movements when I need them. I love taking Lesli and Diane's Studio Stretch classes (Although all the instructors are great, these two ladies have availability when I do). I take Studio Red classes daily and Irina, Kaitlin, Ashley, Jordan, and Mindy are all great. Mindy also teaches a variety of other classes as well and is very personable. The management is also great. If you are looking for a gym where they offer a variety of classes that run all throughout the day and night this is your place.

I have been working out at Vasa since mid May when I signed up for personal training with Christina. I see her for 30min once a week and she gives my 3 "homework" workouts to complete during the week. Having the accountability is the motivation I need to be consistent with working out. I look forward to my weekly sessions with Christina...she's always so positive and happy and we laugh through our sessions. She pushes me to lift more than I think I can and because of her, I'm making more progress than I ever could on my own! If you're looking for a trainer that is knowledgeable and encouraging, you need to schedule an appointment with Christina!
My next comment is for gym management. VASA is a very busy gym and it would be nice if more was done to make sure members are using gym etiquette and re-racking their weights and put dumbells & kettlebells where they belong. It's frustrating to have to remove someone else's weight plates before I can do my workout. Or to have a pile of weights laying on the floor around the machines, which create a tripping hazard. Maybe there needs to be signs reminding everyone to be respectful of all members and re-rack when they're done.

Do not get a membership here at the gym they charge you to cancel the gym make it impossible to cancel ur membership they charge you for everything. It’s always crowded so much happening tried talking to one of the workers as soon as he heard I wanted to cancel my membership he ignored me in the front and walked in the back.

I signed up in March of this year (2025) and since the first day the staff has been like family. The facility speaks for itself when you see it. Spacious, great machines and free weights, studios to fit everyone (yoga, circuit workouts, and dance studio). The cherry on top is a pool, steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. Well let’s say that’s the icing because the cherry on top is the three different affordable plans. I recommend VASA Fitness for all levels of fitness.

Six months ago it took every ounce of courage I had to walk through the doors of VASA and join the Silver Sneakers program. From that moment on, the staff has been amazing. I’m welcomed & encouraged every time I’m there. The best part of joining VASA has been my personal trainer, Christina. The gym is so great and clean but ALSO the kidcare is AMAZING!!! Brandi, Lizzie, Emma and Ruby (along with everyone else there) take care of our little girl so great and she has connected with them so much! It’s so great to know that our daughter is in a safe place while my husband and I can workout! They absolutely adore her and we adore them!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. VASA Fitness in Oswego is a fantastic gym—bright, spacious, and always clean. The staff is friendly and you’re always greeted with a smile. There’s something for everyone with a huge variety of equipment, a functional training area, weightlifting space, plenty of cardio machines, a pool, basketball court, and interesting group classes.
The true highlight for us, though, has been working with Personal Trainer Carson O’Donnell. Carson has taken our fitness to a whole new level by helping us set and reach goals, focusing on proper form, and celebrating every milestone along the way. He’s thoughtful, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional—yet also kind, personable, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing his expertise.
Carson is flexible and accommodating, always following through on what he promises. He’s created customized workouts we can use on our own throughout the week, and we look forward to our weekly sessions to ask questions, learn new techniques, and fine-tune our routines.
Working with Carson has been one of the best decisions we’ve made in getting back into fitness. If you’re looking for a trainer who cares about your success and makes training enjoyable, Carson O’Donnell comes highly recommended!

I recently joined the gym and have been doing Studio Red and cycling classes (I only joined for group fitness classes). I'm not a fan of gyms, but I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoy going to VASA for these classes. It is very clean and the equipment is in great shape. Love taking a studio red class with MINDY she has so much energy and enthusiasm and helps keep you going as you tire out from the work out! I love taking cycle with MONIKA. She cracks me up and is in such great shape herself it is a motivator to keep trying even when I am feeling lazy! And her playlists are amazing. The music can make or break the mood of the workout and she does a great job selecting hers!

The pool heater has been broken about 4 weeks. A manager came into a class the first week and just said they’re waiting for a part. Pool is very uncomfortable. No updated information posted online or at the facility.

I have been a member of many fitness gyms but VASA in Oswego is my favorite! From how big the facility and how complete the equipments are, and the amenities are best bang for your buck! The day care too is very fun for my son that he never wants to leave everytime I am done! All the staff are very well trained with meeting customer satisfaction and they always make you feel welcome when you come in. Lizzie has been very good from the very beginning when I first inquired and answered all my questions, no pushy sales talk from any one, and she has been very accomodating! This is a great gym. The staff members are helpful and welcoming upon your first day. Everywhere in this gym is clean and it offers MANY AMENITIES for its PRICE.
This gym is priced the same way as planet fitness, but offers 3x more than your average LA fitness.
Because the gym is very high quality, the gym goers here have an incentive to clean their equipment after every use, so there is no doubt that this gym will always be in pristine shape.
Even when this gym is busy at peak hours, I can still get a workout in due to the variety and quantity of machines they have.
There is a very high morale in this gym. Being apart of Vasa motivates you to be better. It’s a community in this gym, and in all honesty out of all the gyms I’ve been to, this is the most development I’ve made in a gym. Something about this gym gives you powers.

Very bad management they let their employees handle bad situations on their own for the most part like birds in the facility or shooting threats, and many underage kids trying to come in. always overly crowded, employee ratio to customers is not structured properly, water fountains release dirty water, and the building overall smells very bad from the sweat mixing with the break rooms having pizza sit out all day that grown adults seem to struggle to throw away or put in the fridge on their own. The towels for the studio classes sit out for weeks in the sweat from others before getting washed.

Dirty locker rooms. Dirty equipment. I never see staff cleaning the locker rooms. I never see staff wiping down equipment. I never see staff racking/organizing weights that others left out.
Good luck finding the dumbell you need. Theres not enough dumbells, they're organized stupidly, and there's no 7.5lb 12.5lb 22.5 lb or 27.5 lb. Vasa needs to buy more dumbells and benches. Or the 4 workers standing at the front desk could spend some time cleaning and organizing the gym. It's a complete mess and there's equipment strewn everywhere.

I do personal training 3 days a week with Adam Mangione. The time is well spent. He keeps it fresh always encouraging to go a bit farther than the last time but also understands a bad day.
The other days I go to work out can sometimes be busy, the machine i was going to use might not be available But that keeps me from getting in a rut, forcing me to try other machines.
I have never seen the gym dirty. Every person who works there is friendly, if I ask for help they will either show me themselves or find someone more knowledgeable.
I wasn't sure about returning to a gym but Vasa Oswego is going to stay on my calendar 😊

I want to thank the Vasa staff and management for all of their hard work and dedication. As a Law Enforcement Officer I like to keep myself in shape and let me tell you that VASA has everything and anything you need to make it happen. Also all of the front desk staff are always generous and polite. The men’s locker room is always clean. I also want to that there maintenance department for keeping everything clean any working conditions. I highly recommend this facility to everyone and I am I giving them a 10 plus. Shady business practice - You 100% totally scammed my teenage son out of $100 of his hard earned money. Putting the $50 guarantee for the rate and the $25 cancelation fee wording in a vague link on the bottom or your page is shady, and almost fraudulent. Now listen; if you’re on a budget and just need a place to go then sure this works fine. BUT I went to similar gyms and this is by FAR the worst. The gym is nice and has a lot of equipment, but it’s always packed and I mean ALWAYS. I have to park in the back of the parking lot every time. Not a big deal, just something to think about. I have never been greeted by the front staff, which I don’t really care, but I’ve seen posts of people saying the front staff is friendly and I have never seen that. The yoga classes are amazing but always full; sometimes I’d have to reserve it weeks out which sucks because it’s really the only positive I found. Equipment is always taken because it’s always so packed, and I mean packed packed; like sardines. I had to wait in line to get on the stair stepper and they have like 10 or 15 machines. It’s ALWAYS dirty. There’s always stuff on the floor and at peak hours it’s at its worst, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. There’s always hair everywhere. It smells like a pack of tuna; sauna and steam room are too small because they have it where both men and women can go in there; which doesn’t make sense given the space. I don’t really think they thought that through. I have to wait in line for just about every machine I want to use. I would even come at 8 or 9 in the morning and it was still packed…now given all of this. It’s still a gym and it gets the job done, but I went to edge down the street and the quality was five times better. I know the gym will probably post and say they’ll fix it bla bla bla, but I doubt it. Anyways take what I say and take it how you would like. If you just need a gym that’s close to your house then this is a gym that’s close to your house. I don’t have photos but just go see for yourself. Especially at peak hours. I’ve been to gyms that are busy at peak hours, and it’s never this gross.

Lots of equipment if you’re strong enough to lift heavy weights. For the people who can only use the cable machines, it’s impossible to get a machine because they’re always full of people sitting around on their phones. They can’t seem to get control of the constant vaping and weed smoking, even though I’ve complained multiple times. I have asthma and the smoke triggers it. I’ve repeatedly asked for a way to contact a manager but they don’t know his number or how to reach him except to call the main number while I’m at work and he might be there. The kids who work at the front stand around in a cluster talking and really don’t care about members’ concerns. Studio classes are always full so I never bothered to take my free classes. The pool is nice, but you have to fight for a lap lane and I’m pretty sure people who have the basic membership are using it because they don’t bother policing it at all. During winter all the lockers were full of coats and weren’t locked, so people who needed one for the pool couldn’t use them. Coat hooks would be nice. And probably the most concerning thing is the number of people who can’t read and take pictures of their butts in the locker room even though there are signs saying you can’t. And when I brought this to the attention of the front staff, they told me my only option is to confront the person and ask them to delete the picture. So now I have to watch around me to make sure I’m not half naked in someone’s picture? Ridiculous.

I cancelled my membership back in OCTOBER, and then I guess they kept trying to charge me so I had to shut down my whole bank account. Fast forward, I find out this hit my credit and they’re claiming I owe them $1100!!!!!! They said they want “proof” that I cancelled my membership or else I owe them. These people are disgusting and corrupted, Planet Fitness won’t do that. I switched because I’m allowed to cancel at any time with no cost or hassle and they don’t continue to charge me. But getting bombed out of 60 points on my CREDIT is insane because I don’t have physical “proof” of cancelling my membership and they ROBBED me. These people will ruin your life. Unless you want to destroy your credit and get outstanding and unnecessary charges, do NOT come here. Not worth it either. It’s always crowded and you wait longer for equipment than how long it would take to work out and to top that part of it there’s a lack of space to even wait. It’s so congested!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would. Maybe if they didn’t argue with me and drop my charges I’ll give them 2 stars. A damn JOKE!!!!

Buyer beware!!!! Came in to use gym two different times in one week and they never have child care available for the class I want to take. I canceled my account because they do not provide the service I signed on for. They are fraudulent and said my account my froze and 'un froze' by a computer. I was charged $69 and $63 yesterday for some annual fee and asked them to reverse it and cancel the account. They said they cannot. Such frauds. Been an LA fitness member and Vaughan Athletic Center member for years and they not predators like this with fees. I pray y'all reap what y'all sow.

This gym is too small for the crowd it draws. You can go 5-10 minutes waiting for a machine, unnecessarily extending a real workout time considerably. Cleaning supplies are always out of stock while the staff hangs out in front talking to each other. I’ve overheard several arguments with customers where staff were completely out of line. The locker rooms, pool, and showers are dirty. When I joined I thought this was the best gym ever, it is in fact the worst, in my opinion.

I had the same incidents at a different Vasa, There was some arguments between Me and another member, those members tried jumping me. It was three of them afterwards I walked out when the manager came waited inside and they still waited outside for me. Mind you one of those members were workers from there and so they did not get banned while I had a lifetime band come on you need to train Your manager is better, They labeled me as a troublemaker and bad meat from every Location mind you I am a pilot under the FAA. They do deep examination License so how could I be a troublemaker if I have a FAA license plus I have no previous police incident mind you I am a black person. Could this be racism don’t know.

“AVOID THIS GYM”
I usually don’t do reviews but this is a must. I was at the facility on last Thursday and some things transpired with my nephews. My nephew had a balance he paid it and paid the $15 for his brother to get in. After he paid one of your reps told him are you too cheap to pay $15. So a few words were exchanged. 2 hours later the police were called and telling them we have to leave. As my nephew was leaving the so call assistant manager Eric Clemons pushed my nephew and an off the clock employee. If you run the camera you will see what happen. I asked the police to ask Eric to give me corporate number and he gave me a regular staff number. I called the number and Eric gave this individual my person information. He was very disrespectful and hung up in my face. I called him back and he blocked me. I think you guys need to train some better employees to do the job. I work out at this gym 3-5x a week. I’m a new member but thinking about canceling. Also, I see racism is still alive as some things were said about my nephews that wasn’t appropriate. I would like someone to call me and something be done about these 4 employees. They are very disrespectful and giving VASA a bad reputation.
Update- I brought the matter VASA management and corporate about a matter that took place. They refused to listen to what I have to say. They just revoke my membership from all VASA. They are racist and the management team is horrible. They need to get some real mature adults to work for this company. “AVOID THIS GYM AT ALL COST”

I usually do not write reviews but I have to share my latest experience. I was recently at Vasa when I observed a very unfortunate situation where the staff was extremely unprofessional while addressing a member. As a paid member, there should be no public conflict as what i witnessed. I overheard a young Hispanic lady saying a very demeaning comment to a member who was paying a fee/visit. It came across as rude, disrespectful and racist. Vasa not only needs to do a deep cleaning of their facility but also address and train their employees to be professional. You never know who is around and/or listening. As a leader and owner of my own business, no way should that be acceptable. I noticed the police was called due to some form of word exchange. In the corporate world you want to de-escalate not provoke the situation. This was handled poorly. I feel very uncomfortable going back here knowing what transpired. I am a studio member and would recommend Vasa bring their attention to this issue and do better.

i have NEVER left a review before, but as promised, I owed it to my friday morning vasa staff to do so. the staff is great! everyone is friendly, and altogether extremely helpful + efficient, when tending to your questions/needs.
for example: this past friday, i thought i had lost my car key (for the 500th time) and the staff searched for my key as if it they were apart of the S.W.A.T. team. unfortunately for them … i did not look hard enough because the key was simply in my bag. we all had a great laugh and the situation didn’t come to them as some “huge inconvenience”.

Like most members, I believe the gym overall is very satisfactory. However, there are two large gaps in machines; there is only 1 weighted crunch machine, and 1 glute thrust machine. The ratio of members that want to use glute machines is severely unbalanced these days, because there is almost no availability of these machines as they are always being used. Management should hear from the members more and add additional machines. I understand that a gym would only have 1 glute thrust machine, but there are too machines individuals focused on glute growth these days, and there is usually a line of people waiting on someone to finish there 30 minute set on this thing.

Love the deep stretch classes and today’s class was no exception! Our instructor unfortunately didn’t feel good in the class and had to cancel the class in the middle of the class. It happens! But what I was so impressed with was her checking on me individually to make sure I was okay (I sat out one of the stretch’s) before she went to excuse herself. Vasa has saved my life. I was scared to join because I am just recovering from cancer. I am over weight and out of shape. I was scared that people would make fun of me for being over weight. I started out at 356lbs and after joining and doing a classes I was cooked. Rob is the most wonderful person and he pushed you. You can do it. People in class are very kind and thought full. I am finally done to 199lbs and vasa helped me. Thank you all for the encouragement

Gym is nice, but sold way too hard. Wayyyyy too many people now. “We understand it gets crowded at times” well it’s busy all the time and the fact you have to wait 1-20 minutes for a treadmill is ridiculous. The pool is DISGUSTING. You get nasty people rinsing off after their sweaty sauna session. Locker rooms are dirty, especially the lockers. This gym has a lot of potential but what they need to start with is to stop promoting their membership when the gym quite literally can’t handle anymore. Regulation on who’s entering the pool needs to be stronger. Should also work covering those sauna doors so the women don’t have to feel men staring at them the whole time they swim.

I'm always doing their studio classes. The HIIT and yoga instructors are great! They're constantly there to help you out if you screw up and are always pushing you to do your best. Plus, they're very kind individuals. And I highly recommend doing personal training with the coaches @ Vasa. Join Vasa Fitness. You won't regret it

The gym is always too crowded & it doesn’t matter what time you go. I’ve gone super early at 5am & late around 9pm to try to beat the crowds but it’s still over crowded. None of the machines are ever available you always have to wait in line. A 1-2 hour work out turns into a 2-3 hour workout easily. I like all that Vasa has to offer but I’m really thinking about switching gyms so I can actually use machines and workout. Also the locker rooms could be cleaner.

I’ve been a regular member since they opened in April 2024. I joined for the lap pool, and I stayed for the Studio Red classes.
The pool: I give the pool 3 stars because I have complained multiple times about the pool being dirty all the time. Even when I would go in at 5a to swim (they open at 4a) it would still be dirty. They say they clean it every night, but I do not believe that’s true.
Studio Red: this class is legit! The instructors like Mindy, Kailtin, Carmen, and Big Rob make it worth coming back to. I compare it to OTF without the price tag.
Studio Flow: Deep Stretch (either with Diane & Daryl) is a fantastic class.
The locker room could be cleaned better; it looks like they surface clean, but don’t check the lockers regularly to make sure they’re cleaned out.
Overall, I would give 4.5 ⭐️

I’ve been going here since they opened and I’ve never had a bad experience. All of the studio red coaches are amazing especially Carmen, Greta, and Kaitlin. They all really care about what you are doing and super motivating. Definitely try a class with them! Yea it can be crowded but just try a different time of the day then it’s truly is an amazing gym 😊

I wanted to try out Vasa in Oswego because my boyfriend recently switched to Vasa and he said he’s been really enjoying it. We went in together and we asked if I could sign up for a guest pass, the girl at the front desk was very rude and just said “no his membership doesn’t cover that” and we asked if there was another way to try out the gym, she told me we had to go online and fill out a form so that’s what we did. When we stepped back up to the counter, we spoke with a gentlemen’s and we were told we needed an ID for the pass and when we said it was in the car, the girl came back over from her counter and said “you should just come back tomorrow”. I wanted to work out today so I went to the car and grabbed my ID. Once I got back up to the counter again, the girl laughed in my face that I actually brought my ID. She proceeded not to even look at my ID and say to me again “you can just come tomorrow” and I told her “no I want to work out today” she then took my phone number and said “your good” and walked away. My boyfriend and his friend both noticed how rude she was to me and both considered speaking to a manager about her behavior. It felt like she was purposely making it difficult to work out there. Unfortunately this experience did hinder my desire to sign up for a membership.

I have been meaning to write this for awhile.
There are some good things that can be said about Vasa. They have great hours for not being a 24 hour gym. They're affordable and work with some major insurance plans for extra convenience. Their classes are good and
The bad things...well its hard to list but I'll try. For a location as new as this, rep counters on machines have been broken for months and more break all the time.
The restocking of wipes is horrible, where you'll be 6 hours from close and half the wipes are empty while staff stands up front talking.
The cleanliness of the gym itself is decent, but the locker rooms are quite bad. Its also clear that nobody ever cleans inside the lockers ever.
The worst is the pool. They clean it once a month, at the start of the month, and thats it. It is painfully obvious that it needs to be cleaned twice a month or more because by week 2, there is grime at the bottom. It probably doesn't help that at this gym, the sauna being next to the pools means you get people coming out sweaty and "rinsing off" in the pool. Its nasty.

This gym is my happy place! I love studio red, deep stretch, and just tried kickboxing today and it was great:) great instructors, very friendly staff, and welcoming environment. I regularly go here and plan to continue!

I just joined VASA, coming from Lifetime Fitness & Chicago Sports and Fitness. I enjoy the classes and the staff and instructors are always polite and welcoming, but two things I don't like and that are fairly disappointing considering the size of the facility is the sauna and the lap pool.
The sauna can comfortably fit maybe 10 people, and the lap pool is placed off the main floor with big windows looking onto it. I personally don't feel comfortable swimming laps here, which is unfortunate because I would always finish my workouts with a few laps. I'm hoping that at least the sauna is expanded or maybe add one in the girls lock room, 9/10 I'm the only female in the sauna with shirtless men, it's just not a comfortable vibe (at least for me).
Besides those two things, the cleanliness is solid and the employees are solid.

I was a huge fan of this gym before they started charging my card an $8 fee on top of the $3 per kid fee. When I asked Joselyn, the manager of their kid care, what it was, she said she didn’t know and couldn’t remove it and referred me to their “customer service”. She said she would call them herself and help me figure it out, but I don’t think that happened because when I mentioned her name to the third party they said they didn’t receive any calls from the gym. They said the gym was adding the charge and they couldn’t remove it either, and referred me back to the gym. The gym again referred me back to the customer service casting blame on each other. This went on for about a month and then they charged me another $8 and I wasn’t even at the gym by myself or with the kids, but when I called customer service about it they kept saying it was from kid care. I was then sent to a customer service online email service which again blamed the gym and said someone was manually charging my card and all they could do is refund me but they couldn’t stop the person from charging me again if it was entered manually. I am glad I might get refunded, I am still waiting to see if they send me the money since it is a check in the mail that I wait 30 days for, but now I am nervous to go back because I don’t want to go through this again. It was a big mess and the customer service was just a big circle of people nicely blaming others and saying they couldn’t personally help me but try this other person or call this number. If someone is manually stealing money from people’s accounts that is a huge problem and they should make sure that is NOT happening. I would not recommend putting your bank information on their app. If you have to, use a credit card only so then you can report them as fraudulent and cancel the transaction more easily. This was the worst mess I have been in with a customer service group. The managers at the gym were also no help and would never refer me to a higher level person or call me back. I wish it was easier but now I am kind of burnt out on the whole place.
