Been going here for almost decades, love it! Everyone is very friendly! The instructors for some of the kids classes are so sweet too. The childcare center has very sweet young gals helping out; my littles feel so comfortable and safe there! The exercise equipment and machines are always working and nice and clean! Nothing but chill vibes there!

I've been a member of the VAC since before they opened. I love the facilities, the staff, the location, everything... except for the music. I run a business that relies on music to create a fun, energetic vibe for my guests. I think it's a crucial component to the guest's overall experience. We strive to create an eclectic variety that keeps everyone happy with minimal repeats. I would argue that in a gym, it's even more important to create variety. Most members come in at the same time each day and hear the same music. The current playlist loops over and over. This is a simple thing that VAC could do that would cost absolutely nothing and would vastly improve the member's experience. Please just try creating more variety and ask the members for feedback.

My kids and i love the Vaughn Center. Part of the aurora park District and they have so much to do for such a low price.
Classes for adults, kids, seniors, special needs, swim team, etc
You can also rent out a room for a swim party.
And they have a once a month parent night out babysitting activity for kids ages 5 to 10 (please verify ages)

Emily the Swimming class manager was Exetremely Rude. They completely Made a bunch of parents show up and they had messed up there was no class. therefore if they messed up they should’ve had honored the class session. She rudely with an attitude had no remorse and would not honor the class. just wasted 2 hours of my day just like other parents. She definitely needs a talk on how to talk yo parents and stand behind their “Confusion” and “mess up”. Definitely not coming back i will contact the main personal to address this issue.

If I didn't get a discount from work I would probably just cancel... I purchased an aquatic membership and the pool is always so busy. I understand prioritizing lessons and classes, but the limited hours and lap lanes available makes it crowded and unenjoyable. Needs additional hours for the laps and therapy pool so that those that want to can just swim at their own pace.

We signed up for a family membership last month. We ended up finding a different gym that fit our needs better. When calling to cancel today, they told me it was a ONE YEAR COMMITMENT. This was never communicated and was hidden in a lengthy contract. Now we're stuck paying for a gym membership that we will never use for the next year. Anyone that is considering joining should be aware of this insane commitment.

The men's locker room downstairs washroom was super dirty. Toilets over filled with toilet paper and unflushed business. The cleaner was more worried about mopping than sweeping and cleaning (how can you mop when there's also trash across the floors from lockers and bathroom). Eola is much much more cleaner.

7/19/24 update. Management here is an absolute joke! Signed my son up for a “full””membership to get ready for football. I specifically got email verification from membership manager Hayden Howes as was told in writing my son could access the full gym. 2 months later I was told by some women man with a bad perm who claimed to be a manger that my son could not use the free weights as they were dangerous? My son is almost 12 years old, has been lifting at home for 2 years and is never more than 5 feet from me when we workout and is constantly monitored by me. So free weights are no more dangerous than machines. But this person said no machines are not as dangerous. I said fine and we left.
Then spoke to some other person Holly Wiggins who said she ran the entire gym but I have my doubts as she really didn’t seem to know too much and claimed the website and my contract stated my son could not use the free weights due to his age. This was of course a lie as neither state anything about not being able to use the free weights. Anyways I have contacted a Lawyer as they have breached my contract and I will update again once we have a resolution. Be wary of this place, there is a reason the memberships are so cheap, it’s because of nonsense as this!!

Customer service is nonexistent. Been simply trying to add the men’s locker room to my membership for over a week. They say membership department is here till 7. I have been here 4 times in the past week around 6-6:30 and either all membership staff has left for the evening or the person who supposedly can help me is busy at the moment. Definitely need a customer service overhaul as there is no reason the numerous people working the front desk and on their phones cannot accommodate this seemingly simple request I have.

First visit to Vaughn. Nice facility on the aquatic at least, and the rest looks good too. I spent an hour doing various things from my pt sessions and then 15 mins in the sauna. I just have aquatic and sauna and the senior monthly for aquatic is super cheap. I'm going to sign up for one class a week as well to start. And work up to maybe two
a week. It was fun.

We had a birthday party there for a 10 year old. The staff was SUPER friendly, the price was reasonable, and the pool patio was a useful area for a larger party. The kids area is probably a bit too small for anyone over 10. The boys ended up at the lilly pad/rope climb area, as well as the two water slides they had to offer. The rest of the area was for little kids, so keep that in mind during your planning. This is good from about 5yrs-10yrs.

The facility provided water & juice, we also brought juice and cups just in case. They also provided plates and napkins. We brought in pizza from nearby.

We would.do it again, but with the kids getting older, it just won't hold their interest like it used to. Nonetheless, it's a great spot to get some swimming in during those winter months and bdays!

I am blown away! We just signed up for a family membership and have already been three times this week. There is so much to do for all ages, the Pilates class I took had women and men of all ages! My husband plays basketball and everyone is super friendly! The gym has ALOT to offer. Multiple fitness rooms and various levels of equipment. This could easily turn into a second home lol

Worst pool ever i ever see before. Horrible staff, horrible supervisor . My daughter came to have fun, but because she was 47.9 inches the stuff doesn’t allow her to go to slide, police is 48”. Ridiculous rules. Taking my boys there for swimming classes and we are not allowed to use the locker rooms to change. There was a mom whose daughter needed to use the restroom and the family restrooms had a long line. She asked the girl at the desk to please let her in the locker room so her child could relieve herself and she said that the locker rooms were for members only. Heard things like “stupid” and “ridiculous” coming from many parents that PAY for swimming classes. Wouldn’t recommend this. Go to goldfish or bear paddle instead.

What a quality center! Moved over here after the UFC Gym fiasco (shame on those owners) and Juanita was extremely helpful answering my questions, showing us around, and telling us about all of the ins and outs of the center. You can tell Brett really took the time to make the fitness area sufficient for the members too - which I REALLY appreciate. There’s equipment there that wasn’t even at the UFC Gym!
I am happy with this switch. Everything happens for a reason and this is a good silver lining.

We go here for babies swim class & tot rock class since my LO was 14 months. Swim class is decent (they dont/cant teach swimming in such an young age), it is more like babies having a fun time in water with the instructor singing songs and the babies getting rid of the fear. Sometimes, there is not enough space as there are other classes happening very closely. They dont have enough changing rooms which is a drawback.

Tot Rock class was good too with Ms.Denise doing various activities to engage and play with the babies which inturn help us in the house.

Private swim lessons are a joke. Coordinator should be fired. They schedule lesson and then you show up to find no instructors (3 of 7 lessons this was the case). They don’t give the same instructor so you start over with a new person each lesson. In short, find someplace else. Kelley is completely incompetent.

Father and son can't even find somewhere to shoot some hoops cause of some stupid age difference rule that I have never heard of in any gym out of the few states I have lived in. Just really disappointing, zero logic, the employees are like corporate robots who can't deviate from. Their managers script and have some soul in there job. So lame. My daughters were registered for swim lesson 3-4. But without consulting or even informing us, they were trained for level 2-3, which they had already cleared at the same facility. I feel cheated.. although their lessons during previous 2 levels were good, the last level lessons disappointed me..

While their facility looks amazing. Their level 1 swim class for babies is not structured, next to loud adult classes & there is no direct instructions on HOW to teach safe swimming. To me it seemed like story time in the water. My child actually got more afraid by class 3.

Not to mention our instructor today told us they never taught littles before.

And if your child is easily over stimulated - this is not the place. The music from neighboring adult class (same pool) is so distracting and can be dangerous for a little one trying to learn to swim.

Came to a group class but didn’t realize my membership ended and was sent packing by a man attending the card swiping device. I asked if I could renew it after the class because it was starting in 5 min but was not allowed. Very disappointed with this treatment because in the past when this happened, I was allowed to attend the class and sorted out my membership status afterwards. I think all the instructors at Vaughn are great but will not be renewing my membership because of this incident.

Who would have thought trying to shoot baskets with your son was not allowed. I showed up 3 different times after being told I was not allowed to play due to my age or my sons because of our age. This last time I was told the only way I could play was to sign up for an annual membership. How does that make any sense? 1. Completely not allow to play or 2. Come when ever you want. I am more than willing to pay the daily pass and play at a designated time, but apparently that is not available for parents and their kids. Very poorly managed and run section.

If you visit the Vaughn Center in Aurora, IL it is highly recommended that you keep your eyes on your wallet, keys, phone and clothes because they have an unfortunate problem with thieves there. Multiple locks were cut off lockers in a men's changing room this afternoon. They stole all of the above from multiple guests who were using the swimming pool. This is the SECOND time one of the victim's property was stolen from this facility. It's unfortunate but I would not recommend the Vaughn Center unless you are able to keep any, and ALL, of your belongings with you at all times. Some of the patrons who frequent this center are just looking for their next victim. With all the likes this post is not just applicable to us.

Update: A very big thank you to the Aurora Police Officers who have recovered the stolen property this evening. We really appreciate your help!
