Vidya's yoga is amazing. I've done water yoga, goat yoga, hot yoga, weight yoga, aerial yoga, springs yoga, beginners/intermediate/advanced yoga, and many more at different places and I find that her classes are one of the best! I always feel like I got a good work out versus feeling like you got stretching done but not an intense work out. I like the different varieties she incorporates and each time I attended a class it was something new which is great as I can get bored with the same work out/yoga routine. Vidya is a very kind, humble, gentle soul, I highly recommend yoga with her!

I’ve been attending in person classes with Vidya for the last few weeks and have been throughly enjoying them. I have been doing yoga since I was 20, but fell out of my practice once the time pressure's of work and a hip injury that required surgery with a long recovery time. On a whim, I attended a yoga class at my library to see how I would do (post recovery). That class was hard, so much strength required! After taking this class I knew I had to ask if Vidya had her own practice, and luckily she did.
I am used to practicing Vinyasa yoga, which I have always enjoyed. Yoga at Vyayam is different than any practice I have gone to before. While some sessions have some more movement/flow to them, I feel her yoga class requires so much more strength while still integrating balance and stretching. Her classes are a whole body workout while usually focusing on a couple of specific muscle groups. I have attended almost 20 classes and no class has been a repeat. Vidya also incorporates some Pilates into some classes as well as some meditation. Her classes challenge me more than the typical downward dog flows into warrior poses of typical classes. The only thing I would note is that we don’t work on any one specific pose. For example, if you are working on crow pose, you would need to do that with your own practice at home.
While I have been attending in person classes, I just want to note the online format. Most online classes I’ve experienced before just have the yoga teacher doing her thing, so you don’t receive the feedback like you would for an in person class. This online format is via Google Meets, so you can have your camera on you during class. This allows Vidya to correct positioning and give feedback to you even if you are not in person.
One of the reasons I wanted to get back into yoga so badly is because I suffer chronic muscle knots and tension all over my body. I have hyper mobile joints and this causes my muscles to over work to keep my joints in place. I was using foam rollers, trigger points balls, heating pads, and stretching almost every night to try to relieve the knots. My goal for my yoga practice was to increase my overall strength and flexibility to properly support my joints without overworking my muscles. I have to say that I really don’t have to use my foam roller like I used to. Now I really only use it because I had a hard work out and my muscles are sore. While not everyone has muscle knots for the same reasons, yoga can help strengthen surrounding muscles and stabilize your knee, shoulder, etc.
To conclude, Vidya’s classes are awesome. They require balance, strength, and flexibility. My mom has started attending as a beginner because she wants to work on these components and Vidya offers modifications for any level. Every class ends with meditation and laughter. I always leave with my body, and mind, feeling great. I highly recommend attending!

I was looking for a way to celebrate International Day of Yoga with my community this year when I found out about Vidya Nahar’s month long Sunrise Yoga class. The hour-long class, held on Fridays in June, each had unique poses which kept me mentally challenged as well as physically challenged each session.
Vidya did a great job of meeting everyone where they are. Each class was just the right level of difficulty for me, someone coming back from a long hiatus of non-practice.
One of the most unexpected and delightful moments came at the end of class: a laughter practice that nudged me gently out of my comfort zone. What began as a playful exercise turned into genuine, contagious laughter. A great way to start the day.
Vidya’s classes are more than strength, flexibility, balance and movement; they’re a celebration of breath, and being fully present. If you’re looking for a teacher who can guide you with grace and surprise you with joy, Vidya is great. Her passion for yoga, her community, and her students shines through in every sunrise session.
Vidya Nahar’s guidance is warm, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and welcoming. I liked that the practices offered a moment of gratitude and connection. It was a truly uplifting experience. I strongly recommend taking her yoga practices.

Hello, I have been practicing yoga with Vidya for the past two months. It has been a great pleasure to work with Vidya. The best part is the flexibility to attend a class or all the options she has listed (trust me there are many). The practice has made me so much more energetic. Although I have a long way to go to catch up on the flexibility, this has made me get into a regular routine. All of this at the comfort of my home. The studio is a beautiful place to practice--very uplifting and bright without being distracting. Vidya gets to know each student by name and encourages home as well as in-class practice. She teaches pranayama and principals of yoga that that students can incorporate in everyday life. This quality is very difficult to find in most studios in the area. Yoga is taught in a spiritual, physical, and psychological manner with a focus on healing, positivity, and inner strength.

I have joined Vidya's Online Yoga classes from couple months and enjoying the flexibility of following yoga routine from Home. The best part of Online program is, there are multiple time options for classes and all classes offered during the day has a different kind of yoga sessions, which is amazing. VT Seva Chicago volunteers had an incredible chance to support the Alzheimer's Association on World Health Day. Thanks to Vidya Nahar, who graciously led a free Yogic breathing session. I have been going to Vyayam Yoga for the past two months and enjoying every bit of it. In my google search for a Yoga class near me, I happened to find Vyayam and so glad I found it. I go to class twice a week and found Vidya to be the best when it comes to a Holistic Yoga session like its meant to be. She focuses on calming down the mind and slowing down and controlling every physical movement, which is much needed for someone like me who is always on the go. I joined online VYAYAM classes few months back and I have finally found what I was looking for. I practice at least 3-4 times a week and those are the best hours of my week. Vidyaji's specialty classes are all different and every time I get a good work-out, strong stretch and deep relaxation at the end. Attended Vidyaji's Kriya Yoga class with my friends for a yoga tryout. By the end of the class I am motivated to incorporate yoga in my day to day routine. This is one of my best decision to join Vyayam. It almost 3 months since I joined, I can feel the flexibility in my moves. I joined Vidya’s virtual chair yoga class about a month back. Thanks to Mona who introduced me to Vidya. Truly it has been a blessing for me.
My knee joints have been giving me a lot of problems because of wear and tear and as a result the muscles around the knees are very weak. In this one month I feel a big difference not only around my knees but overall. I feel more energetic and look forward to her classes.
I do have a long way to go.
Vidya is very knowledgeable and a great yoga instructor. Her classes are fun and always starts and ends on time. Every day the stretches are different and so not monotonous at all and the best part is that I can do it in the comfort of my home. Vidyas Vyayam classes are a unique blend of modern and ancient techniques that not only helps build core strength and flexibility, but gradually takes us closer to doing the difficult Yoga poses that we only see in pictures. Her teachings also expose us to different breathing technique and meditation which in my experience should be part of any Yoga/exercise routine.
Her ability to start with simple hand and leg moments and build on it in a way that leads us into some of the most difficult poses which such ease and poise is what makes her style unique to me, unlike some other institutes where there is no connection from 1 pose to other.
Finally, she does a great job in combining different variations within Vyayam using modern tools like Bosu, Weights, Stretch bands etc. which help in keeping the classes fun, challenging and interesting all at the same time.

I've taken many yoga classes over the years at large fitness centers and boutiques and I feel that Vidya's classes are trully the best. The experience is very authentic. She moves seemelessly through poses and guides everyone very well to follow along. Amazingly even via Zoom she notices if you are off and provides feedback. Her classes are very relaxing as Vidya beams with positivity and peace. She is also a laughter specialist and we do a laughter exercise at the end of each class. I frequently had difficulty focusing in yoga as classes that I took previously tended to be the same each time and my mind would wonder off to my to do lists. That doesn't happen to me at Vyayam yoga because every class is different and Vidya keeps you engaged. I've been going for almost a year and cannot recommend her classes enough.

I tried first time Yoga class through zoom platform with Vidya Nahar. She is phenomenal! I am a runner and have usually used yoga stretches for my flexibility and sciatica pain. Virtual class allowed me to start the yoga from home. I was not able to takeout time to go out to yoga class or any gym. 6:30 PM is so good time for me. After a full day work, sitting on table chair, gives me an opportunity to stretch my full body.

It has been a very good experience practicing Yoga / Pilates with Vidya. Every class is different and will come out drenched in sweat which gives a good workout feel. There are different props used for some sessions which will make the workout more interesting. Some props may not be suitable for all.
