Iβm impressed with how terrible Xsport fitnessβs costumer service is. Iβve tried to cancel my membership multiple times yet they still continue to charge my account. Then, I try to contact them and get refunded for their wrongful charges Iβm put on hold for 45 minutes or more. Then after they βresolveβ the situation months later I continue to get charges for the membership I canceled 6 months ago.

I was a member at the large Downers Grove location for 4 years, but now I've been a member at this particular location (Elmhurst, on corner of North Ave and 83) for a little over 2 years. I feel the price is right here. There's plenty of equipment and for the most part it all works properly. It's usually not too crowded weekdays during the day and weekends all day, but even at peak times it's not too bad. I would say that on occasion it can be a bit stuffy and warm in there. My biggest complaint is that the water fountains' cooling mechanisms have not worked for at least two years so the water comes out very warm. I've mentioned it to staff members many times, but nothing has been done about it. Otherwise, it's a good gym in a convenient location for me.

XSport as a company are thieves! I walked in to get a membership and felt somewhat pressured but ended up givng a payment of 100 dollars knowing very well I would need to cancel. Right before walking out I asked how long I had to cancel and the person pointed at banner hanging and said 30 days as stated on the banner. I called a few days later to cancel because I had a death in the family and was not in town and was told I needed to cancel in person. I went on 6 days later, as soon as I was able, and was told my information would be given to the manager and he would process my refund of 100 dollars. He gave me his personal number and followed up with him a couple times. After about 3 wks I followed up with the same guy and he never responded so I went in again to check the status. At this point I had already dealt with a few people mind you. They had me call the number on the tag and so I did. It was there that I spoke to a very rude person that kept saying she was a contractor and could not refund me the money. I told her I had a death in the family and was out of town. She said I never had 4 check ins so so my money could not be returned. Not once through in person visits, text or by phone was I told I needed to check in nor was going to the gym on my mind after the loss. She said she would speak to her supervisor and get back to me within the hour no more than 24 hours. Wellll, I never got a call from her. I called back and another representative told me she would call me back that day and I never got a call. I called back again a few days and was told the same thing as the first call. I have been waiting for a supervisor to call and am literally on the phone holding since I never got a call. I not once worked out at the gym. I not once was told about having to go in. I not once was given any other info until it was to late. I did come across very misinformed people and very rude representatives over the phone. Xsport basically stole my money.

Member Services is one extension that we provide in order to get a hold of our Customer Service Department. Our records indicate that you have spoken to our Customer Service Representative named Candice. She has gone over our cancellation policy and advised that we are unable to refund the portion paid as it was not done within three days of signing. At that time you mentioned that you would be filing a dispute with your bank. We apologize but, if we do have a cancellation that is done within three days of signing then we are unable to process a refund for the down payment and cannot remove the balance currently owed."
And I followed up with this...
Correct but if you read my complaint and not what Candace wrote you will see that I was out of town due to a death and when I called and even when I physically went in no one person, not once, informed of the 3 day cancelation nor did anyone mention anything about have to have 4 check ins. You all wont go broke over a hundred dollars. I on the other hand have been broke because if a hundred dollars. There is no compassion from the company as you all are thieves keeping my money while not receiving any services in return. I will be editing mynpost to include your response.
The sad part is that I planned to eventually return as a customer once I was financially able to include my two sons but you all have lost my respect and me as a customer and will continues to spread the word of what you all did until I get my money back. How dare you all!

All in all just know before you go. Don't feel bombarded to get. Its sad they treat customers this way. I truly i tended to return when able but never again and will spread the word of the way they do business.

This is a tiny xsports fitness , the bathrooms are not so clean . Itβs twenty four hours so for people who live near it this is the best option for about 10$ a month itβs pretty cheap....

This place is a JOKE! The management team has zero knowledge of how to run a successful gym. As soon as you walk in youβll see several employees eating, talking, and sitting down. None of them whom are able to answer questions about your account. Theyβll leave you voicemails and when you call them back no one knows why you got a call. Cleanliness is nonexistent. It smells like the unwashed jock strap of a high school wrestler.

The second picture is the actual one, it's very small which I didn't really like since I'm a guy who likes a lot of options and I was hoping it was the xsport I was thinking about but that was the Melrose xsport, the locker rooms smelled like piss from the moment u walked in, gear was sweaty, but at least the workers didn't try to push anything on anybody

This is the best gym I've ever joined. The staff and trainers are very helpful and professional. They worked with me extensively on what i needed to achieve my fitness goals when i first joined. They set me up with one of the best trainers I've worked with, Mario. My first session with him was free, and he knows exactly how to customize my workout. All in all i highly recommend this X Sport Fitness!

i called this morning to get some basic information for my wife join the center , one of the associate named amanda answered my call and she didn't have any info she put me on pause and someone else comes on the line and she also could n't give me the basic joining information puts me on hold and 3rd person takes the call and was very very rude even before he answer my quetions he hungs up the phone.

Employees are extremely rude. One of their employees, Lou, had an attitude the entire time and when i told him Iβd be speaking to his manager, he followed me to my car, and he threatened me. Fast forward to today, I spoke with Charlie, who is the gm of this location, he would not let me speak and he also hung up on me as I was speaking. They lied to the corporate office and made sure I couldnβt sign up ever again. They also signed me up for the wrong membership.
Edit: I just received a call from the corporate office and because of the review I left, now they wonβt ever let me go into xsport. I believe I spoke to tatti or whatever her name was, she would not let me speak and sheβs stating that Iβm telling a story that is made up which is not. Lou followed me outside and told me that I better get back into my car before he.. and I could not hear what else he said since he was walking back inside. They do not understand that once youβre in that parking lot, I have every right to defend myself and Iβm to the point where Iβm going to share the video I have of the whole incident that happened. I had my phone recording from after the first time he followed me to the car, to when he said that I better get back in my car before he does whatever he said he was gonna do.

I have been coming down this gym from last one year . I donβt understand 5 days in week this place filthy and smelly in men changing room . I always say to supervisor in gym. But no improvement seen in YEAR . Only the reason giving one star because I paid for maintenance fees and I think everybody paid it too .
I might say this Xsport fitness center all branches are same like that filthy and smelly after seeing reviews online

Cramp with old equipment. Basic membership is $9.99 which seams good but once a year they will slam you with a $50 service fee. If you have an unlimited xsport gym access i would suggest a different location. OK for $14.15 that I pay a month.

I have been trying to cancel my trainning sessions, and they have been giving me the run around. I had been trainning with them for over a year, to sign up was very easy, took 15 minutes. Now that I can't train because I'm moving. they told me I had to walk in and talk to someone. I walked in and was told to call over the phone. I called the number they gave me, no answer. I was on hold for three and a half hours with a recording saying every customer is important. I guess I'm not their customer anymore and now no longer important. I wanted to keep my membership, but I guess I'll have to switch to the competitor.

The gym is close to my house and staff is friendly. My only complaint is the location on corner or 83 and North ave stinks big time. If you go between 4pm and 7pm pulling out is about as much fun as a procyology exam by captain hook.

Yes this gym is small and has no space for stretching. Elbow to elbow is a good description as I see in the other comments. As for it being an express gym though this was expected. I am able to do what I need to do and get out. Also love the fact that for my membership I am able to bring in a friend for free as this is a great perk to have.

The worst place to ever get any sort of membership at. We had issues with our memberships months ago and good luck trying to call corporate (your only option) you're on hold for over an hour, no exaggeration. First, the place is alarmingly off putting. Very small and literally very smelly. Machines are in bad shape and not cleaned. Tanning beds are always broken, never fixed. It's unbelievable.

In 2015 I paid for an entire year and got one free with the promo going on at the time. After a year of having the membership I was told that it had expired so I went about the route of purchasing a new one. The worker there gave me a "discounted price" because I already had purchased a year previously. I was told by him that my payment was going to be for 15 Months instead of the usual 12 giving me 3 months free. Turns out now a full year after that, I had an entire year free. He scammed me and put all the money I was told that was going towards my membership payment to personal training. Don't waste your time or money here.

I visit here once a day, although sometimes they are slow on fixing broken machines that it takes a week or two to fix it. so that's a downside. But it has showers and tanning. All in all its a good place.

Gym is definitely smaller and a bit crammed with equipment but it gets the job done for an Express gym. Staff is nice and friendly. I typically go in the mornings so it is fairly empty so I can't speak to how crowded it is during normal hours.

I went to visit and the equipment is great, amenities are awesome but my issue was customer service and cleanliness. I wasn't greeted with a "hello" "good morning/afternoon" "welcome to XSport" it was a "you have a card?" I'm sorry what? Lol much worse walking out, not a goodbye or "thank for stopping by" at that point I just feel like another number. I'm not going to bother getting into the details of anything else regarding customer service but cleanliness was bad and maybe it was just a bad day but within the same week I saw the same dust bunny located in the same place by the same machine and I understand things can get hectic and never get to it but my understanding if not XSport as a whole but this XSport has specifically hired cleaners and my question is "what are they doing everyday that doesn't give them the ability to at the least vacuum?" There are some employees who at the least nod their head as you're walking by and others who do some rounds around the gym to assure paper towels, towels, etc but just not the greatest experience. I will say I enjoyed their equipment and amenities and maybe that's their focal point. If so, great job because I was impressed by the equipment.

This place is really small. They replaced all the elliptical trainers relatively recently and have a decent amount of cardio equipment and machines. The free weights area is not very large and equipment 2 Flat Benches, 2 Incline Benches, 1 squat rack, 2 cable towers. They do have a full locker room. This place also gets EXTREMELY crowded on week days ~4-7 pm. I would rate this place lower if it was facilities alone but the staff and trainers are very nice and the price is cheap which brings it up.

I have been working out here for past 6 years. Trainers and employees just stand around and don't do anything.
It is extremely crowded and have some guys stand in front of the dumbbells rack and working out, being in the way of others who want to use the dumbbells. These guys are so ignorant numb skulls, That they use one bench just to keep their weights and personal belongings when people are waiting for a bench to be available. The staff don't do anything about it.
I have got at least 12 of my friends to sign up there and work out with me. Every time they say I will get one month credit on my membership account and never did. With LA fitness opening I am planning on going there.

Having previously been to a well maintained XSport location, I expected a better overall experience. My main issue with this location was lack of elbow room. I understand this is an 'express' facility and take that into consideration, but I would rather pay $5-10 more/month to be able to utilize my gym, not wait for equipment or be practically on top of other gym goers. I would describe my workout experience as claustrophobic.

I am very disappointed at this location. I was lied to and charged for a personal trainer, I never even used. Not once did I use the membership with XSport due to personal reasons. So today when I went in to cancel my membership. I was told all I could get back is $29.90. After I was charged over $150!!!

I laugh at everyone who is giving this place a 1 star review. A gym is not a luxury it's a GYM. Of course it's gonna be smelly it's not a damn spa. I go every other day for my workouts and I'm happy with the gym, if I wanted something luxurious then I would sign up to get a mud bath.

This is the only gym I've been to since moving here. It's very clean, the equipment is great and well maintained and if a machine is down its quickly repaired. I go 5 days a week, someone's it gets packed but over all it gets the job done, its a small express gym so it can get packed quickly at certain times.

All you guys giving 1 star are a bunch of lazy people. you go to the gym to workout not to have the luxury of a clean bathroom with paper towels. A gym is a place for working out not for bathroom, cleanliness, people with good attitudes ect. This is a good gym i go 4-5 times a week do my workout, run and leave witch is exactly what i go for. It gets packed around 6-8 but if your working out thats not an excuse i still get to do my full workouts. If you want to wok out you will work out or you could be one of the out of shape people who find an excuse for everything. But yeah i recomend this gym to anyone who just wants to workout since this is the express gym it dosent have the features of the basketball court, swimming pool, boxing ring ect. i paid $40 start up fee and then $20 a month after that. You get to take a guest soo i bring my friend each time nd he gives me 10 a month. but yeah good gym for working out.

Bait and switch fraudulent advertising. They do a bait and switch where they tell you that you can sign up for $9.95, but then when you actually try and do that, there's an added annual "maintenance" fee of $49.95. I told the employee who was trying to sign me up that this was a false advertisement and he said that the point was to bring in people to sign up for their other plans. This is a classic bait and switch false advertising ploy. When there are so many good gyms to choose from, don't go to one that is just trying to rip you off and steal your money
