What a joke?!
I booked on ClassPass and Google GPS took uber drive to the back of building so I was late for 4mins. Only to find out the door was locked and there is nobody inside. I called 5 times and I can hear the phone ringing but no one is picking up.
Then I found they had this notification on the door say their door will be locked during session, but how about you put it on Class Pass so people have never been to your business know about this rule?!

LOVE this studio!! YBD is where I first fell in love with studio yoga. The instructors are amazing- uplifting, helpful, and great people in general. This studio is my personal heaven in the cooler months since it is heated, itβs a warm blanket that surrounds not just physical body, but the outer bodies as well. That being said, youβll find me in the studio even if itβs 100 degrees outside since my entire being feels so much better after class. Did I mention you get a nice cool cloth scented with lavender and peppermint during Savasana? Itβs delightful. Unsure if itβs for you? They give you TWO FREE WEEKS if you are a new student. This gives the opportunity to try different classes and instructors to see who you vibe with. ππΌβ¨π

Honestly the best yoga around. The instructors are wonderful. The studio is clean. The management is always helpful. The classes range from relaxing to straight up butt kicking. I love it here & I bet you will too.

I've been practicing yoga at YBD for years and it doesn't matter what day or time I come, it is a welcoming, friendly studio for everyone!
YBD is not cliquey or unwelcoming and surely not hostile, it's the exact opposite. Before or after any class youβll see customers, instructors, and staff chatting and catching up with one another.
The studio manager Jen has continued to build a strong YBD community by having great instructors and offering a variety of classes for all interests. She listens to her customers and works to ensure she's offering the best experience for them. She's made YBD Wheaton a better place to practice yoga.

Been coming here for years unfortunately as hinted in the comments I have no idea how this place has such a high review the staff is very cliquey and not welcoming
Particularly had a rude unsolicited interaction with Jen the Manager so I think that explains a lot about the customer culture here
If you are taking classes and leaving and not speaking to anyone you should be fine
But overall very hostile and unprofessional if someone violates policy there is a respectful way to speak which is not practiced at this location
Edit: I was called and threatened for this review to be taken down. I have no problem following policy but the way I have been spoken to here was something I have never witnessed in my life.

There is a real yoga community here. It's not gym yoga. It's so much better. The teachers, staff, and students are welcoming, not cliquey. They have all the formats, and yes, my favorite, hot Vinyasa flow, up to 105Β°. Restorative meditation is a close second!

I LOVE this place. Every person I have interacted with has been so kind and helpful. The teachers are all so good at pushing the effort level of class but being personable and kind. Feels like a community here and itβs very welcoming for new people. The facilities are stunning, clean, and smell great. Theyβve thought of everything in the bathroom in terms of little amenities and I love that the lockers have little keys so you can lock up your phone for class!

I LOVE Yoga By Degrees - All the instructors are incredible (super caring and knowledgable)! It is a welcoming, clean and overall great environment and community to be apart of. The class schedule offers a lot of variety and there is almost always a class (or several) to go to at any given time. I also love the workshops included in the membership. 100/10.

Good first experience here. Looked up class times the day before and went in the next day to sign up. Simple process which takes 10 minutes of providing basic info and signing a waiver. I did get a free 2 week trial , and a free rental for a yoga mat for my first class.
They provide yoga blocks and blankets to use during the class, of course you can bring your own too.
There's locker rooms with showers, bathrooms, blow dryers. There's a complimentary toiletries basket you can use too , hair spray, lotion ect.
They sell Mats here as well as yoga clothes and other cute trinkets like beaded bracelets and necklaces.
I did the restorative class and it was very nice and slow paced, holding poses for a few minutes. I did not find any particular pose to be too difficult that I couldn't even attempt it. Some do test your mobility and flexibility but that part of the point !
Very dimly lit, very calming mediation music. I found the instructor to be very good and clearly explained/described our next pose so it was easy to follow along.
You get a nice cold rag at the end thats been infused with lavender and peppermint essential oil.

I have been going here on and off for years and have consistently found the staff to be warm and supportive. The studios and locker room always look and smell clean. I usually do a a Level 1 or a restorative.

Virtual restorative class this evening and boy was it interesting. I have never attended an online yoga class where the instructor was so busy doing other things than than being attentive to the class. She was writing and looking on her phone the entire time after she told us the poses to do. Some of her instructions for the poses were so vague, casual, and fast! Itβs like she wanted to put us in the poses and get back to her other interests. Iβm glad I could create my environment here at home, but I just couldnβt believe someone would charge people money for this. It was unprofessional and not acceptable yogi behavior.

Knowledgeable and passionate instructors with a wonderful facility to boot. The studio and locker rooms are always clean, and the lockers are free to use! At the end of your practice you have the option to receive a cool wash cloth with peppermint and lavender. Incredibly refreshing after a heated class!

I love this place and no Karen is able to convince me otherwise. This is a difficult location to keep people happy and these folks do a great job offering a service that is hard to find in the west.

I've no idea how this place gets high ratings. I used to have a membership there a few years ago and stopped going because the best instructors were leaving and being replaced with amateurs. I've since gone back there a few times because it's convenient distance-wise rather than having to drive downtown.
One teacher sub (lots of subbing here), had not even prepared or had a specific flow in mind and made things up as she went along. I'm not sure if these "yogis" know much about the reason why the flow of poses is vital to the practice being not only physical but spiritual, but I'd stayed home and done it rather than pay $25 for a drop-in with an instructor who has less experience in the practice than my 7 year old. A seasoned instructor also doesn't turn on Beyonce mid session (I didn't sign up for an R&B yoga). One instructor, with her decades of wisdom in her 20s, said to the class that people experience all kinds of emotions on the mat (very true) and many still leave with emotions of anger, sadness, etc. (False. It means you failed as an intructor to properly engage your class and your students gained nothing from the class). This is supposed to be a relaxing experience with a well-developed flow and a calm environment.
They used to have instructors come around and offer to place some amazing oil on your temples and massage it in as you cooled down. Now they have an overly cold towel that hurts your head as an option.
The manager doesn't listen to you either. They try to "calm you down" and thank you for your feedback and then do absolutely nothing about it.
It's a lot of money for amateur instructors and very little real yoga and that's evident by the half empty classes. If you're into breaking down into dance to Beyonce rather than learn a spiritual flow of yoga that leaves you feeling happy and accomplished at the end, this place is totally for you.

Was placed in the wrong session. The instructor was not patient whatsoever. I reached out to one of their staff, Kristen, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. There's no way I'll be returning to this location!

My sister brought me here to practice with her while I was visiting from out of town. After our class with Colleen (Level 1 in 85 degree room), I am extremely jealous of her opportunity to practice here! Colleen was a wonderful instructor, the facility was immaculate and the cold lavender-mint soaked washcloth placed on my head during savasana was divine.
