found Yoga Now about two months after moving to Chicago, and it quickly became a grounding part of my new life. Through Yoga Now, I discovered Ashtanga yoga and had the opportunity to practice with some truly amazing teachers.

Eventually, I decided to take the leap and do my yoga teacher training (YTT) with Amy Treciokas, and I’m so glad I did. The training was incredibly informative, covering a wide range of topics related to yoga, from Asanas to anatomy to practice.

One of my absolute favorite parts of the YTT was getting to apprentice with Shelly.

If you’re in Chicago and looking for a welcoming, inspiring yoga community, go check out Yoga Now. Highly recommend.

Best yoga studio in Chicago! I recently joined this studio with an unlimited monthly pass and I have been trying out different classes. The studio is rooted in traditional ashtanga yoga but offers various other styles as well. The space is a hidden gem tucked into a busy urban area—beautiful, comfortable, and unique. They also offer massages, sauna, and special events (e.g. sound baths). I’m impressed with the quality of teachings and excited to try more.

I’ve had multiple disappointing experiences with this studio, and I feel it’s important to share for the sake of transparency and accountability. My main concern is the ongoing lack of clear communication — especially around class pricing and policies — which has caused confusion and, frankly, frustration.

First, the “Yoga in the Park” class. Nowhere on the website, in emails, or on social media does it clearly state that this is a paid class. It’s extremely misleading, especially since other paid classes do list their prices. When I attended, the instructor didn’t know the cost, and I was told I had to register on the spot. I used a free class credit from my account, only to be contacted later with a rude message claiming I needed to pay anyway. So my credit was used and I was expected to pay additional money? This left a bad taste in my mouth and felt very unprofessional.

Second, I previously attended a “community” Sunday class in the winter. While I understand that these classes are led by student instructors, this one felt more like a private event. The class was filled with the instructor’s coworkers and friends, and the environment wasn’t welcoming to newcomers. After the class, I chose not to join a group photo with everyone, and left quietly with my own mat. Later, I received a call from the front desk accusing me of stealing someone’s mat. I explained that I never took my hands off my own. Instead of an apology, I was dismissed and spoken to rudely.

After experiencing this pattern — unclear policies, untrained staff, and poor communication — I no longer feel that this studio is inclusive or community-oriented. I gave it more than one chance, but each time I felt like an outsider and was treated without respect.

Please do better:
• Clearly post prices for all classes (yes, even the outdoor ones)
• Ensure instructors know the cost in case people ask on-site
• Train front desk staff to handle concerns with professionalism and kindness

I had hoped to find a welcoming yoga community, but unfortunately, this has been the opposite.

I love this yoga studio! In four words it's warm, thoughtful, encouraging, and peaceful. After moving to Chicago recently, I was looking for a studio to replace the one I adored in my old city, and after trying ~10 studios, Yoga Now stood out to me immediately upon entering and hasn't let me down since. The instructors are experts, so you can really learn yoga and develop your practice here. While they bring their expertise and challenge every person in the room, all instructors I have had class with still maintain a really welcoming environment for new joiners to the studio or to yoga as a whole. There's a focus on connection here, and though I'm no expert in yoga, I feel a level of authenticity at this studio that I've missed at others. I always leave this studio feeling better than when I arrived, and only wish I had more time in the week to come more often. Teachers also very much have their own styles which keep classes varied and interesting. Highly recommend - you won't regret it.

A little slice of peace in the busy city! The space is relaxing with friendly staff and instructors. I’ve been to a few community classes on Sunday nights and they’re a great way to end/ start the week (and shake the Sunday scaries). I can't say enough good things about this yoga studio! As someone completely new to yoga, I was a little intimidated to start, but this place has been incredibly welcoming and supportive from day one. A huge thank you to the manager, Amy, who has been so encouraging and has played a big part in making me feel comfortable and motivated. The staff has also been respectful and helpful. Their support has been invaluable.

I've had the pleasure of taking classes with several fantastic instructors here. Wade, Caline, and Sirena are all wonderful, and each brings a unique and positive energy to their sessions. I have to give a special shout-out to another teacher, Hannah. Hannah has a remarkable ability to make everyone in the class feel seen and supported, and takes the time to answer every question with such care and nuance. Her guidance has been instrumental in building my confidence and understanding of yoga.

This studio is so special. Every instructor brings something unique to class, but they all have in common a real love and commitment to the practice. I always leave feeling so centered and connected! Not just to my body but to all of it. It doesn’t hurt that that prices are reasonable, even down to things like a mat rental or water bottle. An easy five stars.

It’s been an incredibly enriching experience. Coming back from India, where I was already familiar with yoga and meditation, YogaNow offered a fresh perspective that truly deepened my understanding. The variety of yoga classes—especially the meditation sessions—have been enlightening. The instructors emphasize the importance of breath, which has positively impacted both my mind and body. The practice has helped me stretch, release tension, and find balance in ways I hadn’t experienced before. I initially attended a few classes at YogaNow in Chicago about a year ago and really enjoyed the experience. So much so that I returned after a year and rejoined the same classes. I highly recommend YogaNow to anyone looking to deepen their yoga and meditation practice.

Yoga Now is such a peaceful oasis. Just stepping into the studio I feel relaxed and rejuvenated. The staff is always very friendly. The space is clean, comforting, and calming. Though I tend to get massages there - where over many years I have only experienced outstanding care from the highly professional massage therapists - I know when it comes to Yoga studios this is the best in Chicago. I recently moved to San Diego, but whenever I come back to Chicago I plan to visit this studio! Before becoming a member, I had no previous yoga experience but fell in love with the practice instantly. All of the instructors are knowledgeable, and the focus is really on enhancing your practice instead of getting a workout in (although I am the strongest I’ve been since coming here). The variety of yoga they offer is also helpful for becoming advanced quickly as they offer Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Mysore. I learned so much about yoga in such a short time when I went to this studio, and I have yet to find another one in my new city that even comes close in comparison. It’s what I miss most about Chicago!

I love this place so much. I’ve been going since January 2024 and have tried many of the classes, but especially enjoy the Ashtanga and Rocket vinyasa classes. Because there are so many classes available, it’s always been easy to fit with my busy schedule. Alisa, Shelly, and Beth, who teach the ashtanga classes I take are incredibly knowledgeable on the style. Colleen’s Rocket vinyasa class on Saturday is insanely good. Each time I go I learn a huge amount and see marked improvements in my form and flexibility in a way that is very gratifying. Finding this place has changed my life and I’m so grateful to the studio for welcoming me with warm arms and teaching me how to get closer to my goals in yoga. If you are reading this review, congratulations on finding one of the most special places in Chicago. Owner Amy Beth Treciokas has created a very special yoga studio that offers many different kinds of of yoga classes for all kinds of people, including for people that have never done yoga. The studio was designed and hand made with natural materials by Amy Beth. When you go to Yoga Now, you will not only get a great workout, increase flexibility or do gentle stretching (depending on what kind of class you want), you will be warmly welcomed and you will immediately be part of a fun and supportive community. And, you will learn and be challenged as much as you desire. Amy Beth is highly educated and had a successful business career; she can certainly make a lot more money doing other things. It says at all that she is completely devoted to serving the Chicago yoga community.

Honestly I've only participated in TWO enjoyable classes here but I'm definitely going to make every effort to enlist in many more classes because I definitely notice a shift for the positive after participating. Yesterday I attended a class on activating the divine feminine with Jennifer Goodman. We were a small gathering of women all seeking to awaken our inner feminine through the use of sound healing or bija mantras, muscle lock exercises called bandha and mudras which are hand gestures to help activate and heal our chakra bodies. The class was 2 hours in length and we enjoyed dance movements, hugging exercises and yoga postures with the bija mantra chants. I truly recommend all women take advantage of these classes and keep an eye out for Jennifer Goodman. The fees were reasonable and I received so many genuine compliments from strangers on the street about my after class "glow". I'll most definitely look into future classes at yoga now. What a great group of instructors!

This will always be a very special place to me. Before moving to Chicago in the middle of the pandemic, I had never set foot in a yoga studio. The only yoga that my wife and I had EVER done was online via YouTube videos in our tiny NYC studio apartment when everything shut down, which was mainly because we didn’t have many other options. But we ended up loving it! Fast forward to moving to Chicago and looking for a holistic place to practice (the core power type of “sports” yoga didn’t appeal to us), and we realized that the Yoga Now studio was just a short walk away. We took our first class and were greeted warmly by the front desk, led in a beautiful class by Maureen (who made us feel like we had been there a hundred times), and were welcomed back with smiles. I loved it so much that I took a part time job there, which is when I really got to know a lot of the amazing humans that make up the incredible community.

I grew up in the south playing baseball, basketball, football & golf…yoga was never something I would have considered. I was not used to yoga studios by any means…but this place welcomed me as I was, where I was & encouraged my growth, physically & spiritually. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to practice with Joanne, Tomoko, Corinne, Taylor, Moe, Adrian & Tiffany, who all taught me so much. Amy has built a unique, beautiful community, filled with people who genuinely want to make this world a better place. Yoga will forever be a part of my life, and this studio has a lot to do with that.

If you are thinking about starting to practice yoga…come here. If you are looking for a new studio that accepts you wherever you are in your practice…come here. If you are looking for a community of like minded humans that want to see more good in this world…come here. I miss this place and these people very, very much.

Forrest yoga here is awesome - one of my favorite styles.
The restorative classes are the best. It's like my mini rejuvenation.

I started at core power yoga which has pretty studios but I was starting to get the feeling it was turning into one of those glitzy commercial places that has lost touch with its original intent. I came here just to try something different and first class I was pleasantly surprised. The instructors here are higher quality and so are the classes, which are more in depth as well as having more breadth in their variety. After each class I always feel like I discovered something new about myself. This is the type of place that will leave one feeling "so THIS is yoga." I certainly have more appreciation for yoga than before I discovered this place.

The facility is very clean. I absolutely loved the steam room and dry sauna after my massage. I feel like a new woman. I will definitely be going back.

Great instructors, no complains whatsoever, even the studios are almost perfect, not too hot and cold, they are also comfortably ventilated.

I've only taken a few classes here but the vibe is down-to-earth, genuine and they promote a learning atmosphere. It is the total opposite of Core Power, where everything is tailor-cut, from classes to rates to music to the instruction. I prefer the grounded energy of this studio and the uniqueness of the instructors. Oh, also, they have a sauna!
