I attended Yogaview this week while visiting Chicago and had a very pleasant experience. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and took the time to show us around. The space is clean, comforting, and open; and they have props available for use which is great - along with mat rentals if you travel. I also love that they sell mats as well as apparel. Bradshaw was a great instructor - I will definitely be returning next time we visit!

I had to cancel a workshop I booked 3 weeks before the date, unfortunately the studio chose to charge me with 10% βadmin feesβ. This is quite unusual in the yoga community usually there is a time period when a customer can cancel with no extra fees. I ended up paying 45$ in order to cancel a workshop I ordered a few days ago!

Let me be clear that I did not take a yoga class here.
I had an elemental sound bath with Josa Goodlife, an Icelandic energy healer sponsored by Blue Lagoon and Icelandic Provisions here.
I took a quick tour of the facility before and after my sound bath and found it to be very clean and inviting.
Yoga classes were packed and everyone seemed to be having a great workout.
I want to check them out in the future by taking a yoga class.

Yogaview is a magical place and the best yoga studio in Chicago. Iβve practiced on and off for the last 6 years there but this year in particular I got deeper into my Mysore / Ashtanga practice thanks to Alexia and Bridgett. Their attention to detail, knowledge of anatomy / body awareness, and dedication to the practice without letting ego interfere is truly a gift that Iβve felt such gratitude for the past 13 months.
Outside side of Ashtanga, I really love Adamβs classes: the intelligent sequencing and playtime for inversions/arm balances makes for a fun yet challenging time. Quinn, Claire, Katie, Chrissy and Whitney are all really great too!
If youβre looking to deepen your yoga practice and start the new year right, hands down Yogaview is the place to be!

Beautiful space, most teachers are very good and scheduling is flexible. I donβt know when this happened; yoga and loud rock music, typical in most studios including yogaview. I find this overall antithetical to the practice. I have always loved beautiful and mellow music with yoga, but loud rock music puts it into the genre of βexerciseβ. Yoga has more depth and purpose.

I love yogaview. I have been practicing yoga for approx 5 years. I was reluctant to try it, figuring I would have trouble with all the pretzel shapes. But they donβt make you fit into pretzel shapes at yogaview. They teach you right where you are at!
Yoga has become an important part of my life β it has helped me to build strength and flexibility β essential for a 61 year old guy like me. I have also become slightly less crazy and impulsive.
Seems like there is something for everyone here from the most rigorous (pretzel shapes?) to the All Levels and Level 1 classes that I enjoy. If you are looking for a nice, clean studio with a friendly, casual vibe or are simply interested in trying a 4 week beginner class taught by the best instructors in the city β check out yogaview.

Yogaview has so many experienced and knowledgeable teachers! I have learned so much since I started practicing here. I love that there is so much variety too. Anatomy based, flow based, gentle or a mix, there is always a class for my mood. I would recommend this studio to any one, whether they are looking to start yoga for the first time, have been practicing or even teaching for 20 years, and everyone in between!

A true Gem of a studio. The design is calm, serene, and peaceful. The rooms are such lovely practice spaces. Staff are kind and helpful. In a large city this studio has a community feel. I don't practice anywhere else!!. I love the teachers and all they offer.

One of my favorite places in Chicago. Lovely studio with knowledgeable staff. The decor is soothing and peaceful, I am happier when I walk in the door. I am a 'mature' yogi and enjoy the gentle, level 1 and Yin yoga classes. I am never disappointed!

I really cannot say enough good things about this gem of a studio! I refer to it as my home away from home. :) The environment is always welcoming that no matter what level or background your practice brings, you will ALWAYS feel supported and encouraged by every teacher! This studio is a Chicago MUST!

Yogaview is a really special studio and community. I bumped around for years trying out different studios and teachers but once I found Yogaview I felt like I'd come home :) All of the teachers are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. They bring in the best teachers from around the world for amazing workshops. The students are dedicated to their practice and a joy to practice alongside.
If you haven't been to Yogaview before, go now! Seriously, close your device and go take a class :)

Yogaview became my "yoga home" in 2016 when I first came for a restorative class with Lisa. Since then, I've completed the 200-hour teacher training with the amazing Yogaview faculty, joined the work-trade staff at the front desk, and created truly invaluable personal relationships through the natural community that emerges before and after classes here. It's a special place to be part of (and is certainly not exclusively for advanced students as I've often heard people wonder!)

I love Yogaview! The teachers are knowledgeable and take care with their students. They remember your name after only taking one class! It's a nice community of good people. Not to mention, they have a great selection of yoga retail ;) showers, changing rooms and massage offerings.

Launched my 6th decade stronger and more flexible because of yoga. Thank you to the friendly staff at Yogaview. There's a class for every body and energy level. I especially enjoy classes with Lisa Pickert, Mary Schmich, and Brooks Hall. Keep challenging and renewing us. Namaste.

This is the best studio in Chicago! yogaview was one of the first studios to be in Chicago, along with Yoga Circle, Moksha, etc. Ahead of its class, yogaview offers great classes to beginners, intermediate and advanced yogis. It's a great place for beginners, because all of the staff and teachers are passionate about healthy yoga, but also for advanced practitioners, because the teachers offer modifications and alternate poses if you are further along in your practice. Definitely recommend, and although I have moved out of Chicago, yogaview will ALWAYS be my home studio!

Fantastic studio! The oldest and best in Chicago. The teachers are fantastic, and the studio teaches real Vinyasa and Mindfulness practices. The studio is holistic giving students perspectives on everything from the authentic yoga experience to teaching a deeper understanding of meditation. If you want a yoga studio with friendly staff, and life-changing classes, then yogaview is the studio for you.

This studio is a blessing to the city. The space is lovely and has a very warm and safe feeling. Shout out to Dorie for being a brilliant teacher!
Highly recommend this studio for yogis and any curious folks. The community classes would be a great way for someone who is inexperienced to dip their toe into yoga and mindfulness. Tens across the board!!

My favorite yoga studio in the city. The classes are actually taught at the level they're listed as....like a level 2 is challenging and meant for students who have been practicing yoga for a while. There are 3 different rooms which allows yogaview to have classes overlap or host workshops. There's changing rooms and a little boutique area in the front.
It is confusing trying to find the entrance to yogaview. The entrance is next to the Element Multisport door which you can enter through the parking lot on the north east corner of Elston and Webster.

I've noticed there is a lot of hype around YogaView because they are a hub for some of the "best teachers in Chicago", however most of the classes there I would call "okay" and their customer service and accuracy of marketing is terrible.
One of my first experiences at YogaView was attending a workshop with Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor. The workshop was advertised as a backbend/breathing workshop but in reality it was sitting on the floor (not moving) for hours and listening to Richard Freeman pontificate about breathing and chanting. I expressed my frustration about this to YogaView via email and got no response (I wasn't even asking for my $70 back!).
Another time when I returned to YogaView I was using ClassPass. When I arrived I gave the lady at the front desk my name, told her I was using Class Pass and she said I was all set and sent be back to the studio. The next day I got a phone call saying that I never paid for the class. To be fair, I may have messed up my Class Pass registration- but instead of telling me this at the door they said I was "all set" and then later demanded that I pay a full priced drop in for the class. After emailing back and forth with multiple people (and having to re-explain the situation due to different people emailing me) we agreed that I could sign-in to a class with the same teacher (not attend) and they would sign me in as payment- so I did this and was told the issue was resolved. Now, over 1 month later I am getting emails from the studio AGAIN saying that I didn't pay for that class.
In my experience a business that wants to practice decent customer service would have let it go or at least properly documented the resolution.
Given these frustrating experiences, the okay yoga classes, and the over used/wet yoga mats and props YogaView will not be a place a return to in a hurry.
Although I must say, there space is really beautiful.

Yogaview is considered by many to be one of the top yoga studios in Chicago, and with good reason: the teachers are good. In fact, often the beginner classes are taught by the most experienced. This location is new - they used to be on Division and I was annoyed that they moved to a less pedestrian-friendly location - which is why I don't come much anymore, but the new studio is much more spacious. On the occasion I do come, I always walk away feeling calmer and more at ease.

This is what yoga is about. Not Power yoga(altho it has its place) but yoga is about mind and body connection and Yogaview embraces that. If you have the opportunity to take a class during the day - more Pure! I was raised on yoga from my first teacher who lived in India for 30 years. I found it difficult to connect to other places but Yogaview is right on!
Namaste!
