I've been a member here for close to 3 years. It's definitely not a beginner gym, everybody goes about their business , they know what they're doing. They have ample amount of machines balance with free weights and cardio equipment. Plus two closed off rooms for Fitness classes Etc... one of the rooms also contains a heavy bag and various other equipment. The other has heavy ropes, with other alternative training devices.

I think that this gym very wrong for charging more for my membership then what was on my contract. And not only that Im stopping my member ship because I feel that this gym is not safe during this covid pandemic. The last time which made me cancel my membership there was because no one including staff were not wearing mask. So I left and knew that I wasn't going back...........

I've been coming to Charter Fitness for two years now, great exercise environment and very friendly staff. Big shout out to Zack & Pat for always being so positive & engaging in classes! Recently, Charter has been making a continuing effort to expand its offerings! Such as adding new equipment, and also adding new comfort additions like massage chairs. The members who train here are also very very friendly and helpful, I always feel welcome here. All these factors keep me coming back and you'll enjoy yourself here too.

So, I have been to a lot of different gyms and the Charter Fitness in Merrillville is the friendliest, cleanest, and most welcoming gym I have ever been to. The equipment is kept clean, the staff are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, and I have never felt uncomfortable working out here which has been a HUGE issue at other gyms. I have had more progress in my health going to this gym than any other gym I have been to.

A lot of changes have been made to the Charter Fitness in Merrillville - in a good way. They just went 24/7, 2 massage chairs are available, Silver Sneakers and senior classes, yoga classes, etc. The staff there is very friendly and always willing to help. The personal trainers, Liz, Zach and Pat are are all very knowledgeable. You can tell everyone there really cares about their clients.
I love attending the team classes. People who attend are of all abilities and everyone cheers each other on. It's a very encouraging environment that makes you want to keep coming back!

i would like to take a minute and give you some info on Charter Fitness . My husband and I have been a member here at the Merrillville location from day one. We have seen many changes through out these past few years . But it’s truly for the better! If you are looking for gym that has something to offer. Like an exercise class they have Team training classes with two very qualified trainers. ( Pat & Zak) Who also offer personal training.
Then there is yoga to include classes for seniors. With trainer ( Liz) . Charters in Merrillville has so many workout machines to include free weights! Plus they have added so much more. Then there is the staff, they are so friendly & welcoming. You have Chase, Dre & Celine. Who are always there to help. They even have two massage chairs to help with all of your aches and pains. It’s also great for recovery after exercise. For you seniors out there they even offer Silver Sneakers .I definitely would recommend Charter Fitness in Merrillville.

The people behind the counter are very rude they never speak or greet you. the manager Devon is a jerk and very unprofessional. I had 96 reward points deducted from my account and nobody can explain to me what happened, I asked the Assistant Manager Devin to have the owner call me to address my issue. The owner is untouchable!!! He doesn't return calls and Devin was soooo busy working out himself he wouldn't even come to the front desk to speak to me!!!! What kind of customer service is that????? They don't have a issue taking my $19.95 out my checking account but can't explain what happened to my reward points. Devin suggest getting a free team training session, don't tell me how to use my reward points, I don't do team exercises. I need the OWNER to call me and acknowledge my issue. I need my points restored to my account. Horrible Customer Service!!!!
