I’ve been going to CFI for nearly two years now, and I can’t recommend it enough. The coaches are outstanding. They take the time to clearly explain what’s expected of you during every workout and are always available to answer questions or provide guidance.

One of my favorite things about this gym is how much emphasis they place on proper form and technique. Thanks to their attention to detail, I’m more confident and aware of my movements, especially when lifting weights.

I’ve been to many gyms over the years, but the supportive and knowledgeable atmosphere at CrossFit Indianapolis truly sets it apart. If you’re looking for a place where the coaches care about your progress and safety, this is it!

I joined CrossFit Indianapolis as the next step in my recovery process. It has exceeded my expectation in every way. I love the atmosphere of encouragement and support as well as challenge to get stronger and healthier. The coaching staff is excellent in so many ways. Coaches guide and correct every step of the way. Each class I grow in strength and skills -from ring rows to deadlifts. My body has progressed immensely. I just recently moved to the area and CFI has been the best experience. All of the coaches, especially Coach and Owner Bill, have been so kind and welcoming. They all work very hard to make sure everyone in the class feels taken care of. All of the members also take great care of the space and each other, which is not something you’ll find at every gym. If you are looking for a gym that will help you build strength and overall fitness where you will be surrounded by an incredibly supportive community, check out Crossfit Indianapolis. I walked into CFI in my forties as someone who has never been an athlete. I had never picked up a barbell, had no idea what a “rig” was – let alone attempted to hang from one, needed a defibrillator after running 100m, and certainly never used boxes to jump onto. From the very first day, this (ridiculously fit) community welcomed me without judgement and pushed and encouraged me on my fitness journey. Crossfit truly is for everyone, but not every Crossfit gym can really coach all levels. I’ve been to many others since starting my path to better health 2 years ago and this one is special. Although I have left the area, I constantly look for excuses to go back so I can drop in at CFI. Go see Bill and the coaches there, no matter your fitness level -- you won’t regret it!

I dropped in for a class while in town for my daughters soccer tournament to keep my workout routine in tact. I loved the space, the people, and the awesome WOD. This place is special. Knowledgeable coaches who care. Excellent facility right next to the Monon Trail in Carmel. Great people with a wide range of performance levels.

I was very skeptical at first. Mostly about Crossfit stereotypes. I had visited several that weren’t for me. The CFI location feels like home. I’m challenged and supported. I’ve been a member for several years now. I’m healthier at 45 than I was at 25. Thankful for have this community in my life.

Never tried CrossFit before but the gym is right by the Monon and I decided to drop in one day - turned out to be one of my best decisions in 2020! Coaches are so motivating and they answer my questions patiently to help with better movements. The other members working out here also are great to be around with and it motivates me to work out more often than I usually do. Definitely worth to try it out and improve your happiness level before the pandemic ends.

These guys are great. I’ve been going since January 2019 and am loving it. The key differential is the coaches and how they approach the workouts.

I started to focus on my health in the middle of 2018 and had lost some weight through mostly cardio work. After about six months I wanted to add strength work to my routine, and I decided to go with Crossfit Indianapolis. Overall, I’ve lost about 80 pounds – it would be an exaggeration to say all of that was a product of Crossfit Indianapolis, however it did help me get the last 25 pounds off, as well as, significantly improve my strength. It has been a big reason as to why I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life.

All the coaches are very knowledgeable, patient and find the right balance of encouragement, making it challenging and safety. Every class I’ve been to starts with a productive warm up and stretching, followed by an overview and practice of the Crossfit movement(s) that will be used that day. We then go through a primer to make sure everyone is comfortable, then finishing it off with the workout. All in an hour.

One of the warnings I had heard about Crossfit was that it could lead to injury, specifically with the back or shoulders. At Crossfit Indianapolis there is a very strong focus on form and a lot of discussion about doing the movement(s) the right way. There is always a risk of injury when working out, especially when you are lifting free weights. However, the coaches do a phenomenal job of actively watching and directing the participants to minimize the risk.

Finally, Crossfit Indianapolis has a great culture. All the participants are overwhelmingly supportive, encouraging and welcoming. It is a fun group that constructively works to help people achieve their best results.

I have met a ton of new friends, healthier lifestyle, sleep great, and work life is soo much better with an outlet like the one Bill and his coaches provide for me. Been working out at CrossFit Indianapolis for almost 2 years. I love this box, coaches and Bill are awesome and super friendly. They teach every movement with lot of ease and help every member in the class to get the movement right. I like the way coaches teach progression steps to get certain gymnastic movements. I am able to run half marathon under 2 hours with CrossFit Indianapolis endurance training. Right from warmup to metcon, lot of encouragement from coaches and fellow members give you the motivation to do better and comeback again.

I joined this gym 8 months ago after moving to Carmel and I had never done CrossFit before. After a few months I noticed big changes in my mobility, strength, cardio, and body fat. Being new to town, it was also a great way to meet people. The coaches and community are great here and they make it super easy for people of all fitness levels to get started with CrossFit.

CrossFit indianapolis is awesome! You start coming for the class but you stay for the community!! CrossFit here is just great, the coaches are so friendly and helpful and they teach you the basics from the start.

Doing the moves properly is a big focus so each class begins with a warmip and breakdown of each skill before the timed part begins.

Great options for packages and the intro class is a whole week long to truly set you up for success!

I was in town and dropped in for a workout on a Sunday. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming and made me feel like I had belonged to the gym for months. The gym had great equipment and a nice setup, the workout was great and everyone pushed each other to be better. Would definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking to drop in!

I really enjoyed my drop in at CrossFit Indianapolis. Everyone was super welcoming. I felt right at home. All the people waiting for the class to start came over and introduced themselves to me, chatted and showed me where things where. The community and camaraderie there was of the charts. The trainer was also very welcoming and helpful. He made sure that everyone understood what we where supposed to do. The class ran smooth and the workout was great. Afterward everyone congratulated each other, like it should be!
I definatly recommend everyone looking for a CrossFit box to go to CF Indianapolis.

If I could, I would just write that I love this place so much that I work out with these folks at the ungodly hour of 5:30 am. Knowing that this place is good enough to make me get up well before the sun should be all the endorsement CrossFit Indianapolis needs.

But since I assume most people reading reviews want more to go on, I’ll tell you what makes this place so amazing.

First, the community is great. I was new to CrossFit when I joined and they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. I wasn’t really sure what to expect because at so many gyms, people just do their work out and leave; but this place takes community seriously (e.g., potlucks, competitions, Sunday morning swim club, friendships galore). The people in the 5:30 am class really bonded and within a few days, I was trading jokes and following up on people’s lives right along with the rest of them. The coaches were great as well, making me feel welcome and not at all like a CrossFit outsider or the newbie I was. There is no gatekeeping here, nor an unwanted sense of competition. We all cheer each other on and push each other to be the best athletes we can be. The community is the main reason I keep coming back to this gym.

And don’t get me started on the coaches. They are great, and so incredibly knowledgeable. They monitor the entire workout and correct form when needed, help you modify moves to your skill level, and can teach you progressions for the harder moves that you aren’t ready to do completely yet. Anytime I had a question, they were able to answer it. And, being new to CrossFit like I was, I had a lot of questions. I have learned so much since coming here, and every time I talk to the coaches, I am astounded at how knowledgeable they are at what they do.

The equipment is good as well. The gym is fully outfitted with all the typical CrossFit attire and has enough of it so that no one is ever short. There’s even a shower at the gym so you can get clean before going into work (or school, or whatever your forte is)!

Here’s two slight “negatives”:
- The gym is rather small (like most CrossFit gyms), so when a lot of people attend a class, it can get crowded. This has never hindered a great workout though – the coaches are always great at pairing athletes up or rotating circuit starting points. Additionally, they offer a ton of classes throughout the day to help spread attendees out.
- The workouts are not for the faint of heart. I feel like when coming into CrossFit, this should be a given. The entire nature of the sport is that it is hard and makes you work. That’s why it has so many followers! But if there is ever move that you can’t do, the coaches are great about modifying it to make sure you are comfortable, safe, and still getting a great workout.

I would recommend CrossFit Indianapolis to everyone: people who are CrossFit experts, people who are new to CrossFit, people who want a good workout, people who are new to working out (they have a great basics class!).
