I almost want to leave 4 stars instead of 3 but I'm having a difficult time deciding. My son has been a swimmer here since March and he's moved up to Juinor 2. It really is giving me peace of mind knowing he's learning these skills for safety. The only note I really have is the class sizes. I feel like when my son is in a class of 2 it's much more efficient. When he's in a class of 3 or especially 4, I feel like he's getting far less time in the water. The classes are only 30 mins so when that is split between 4 children it's spread kind of thin I think. However, all of the staff is very friendly and helpful. Kamryn is so good with the children, she was my son's Junior 1 teacher and he just loved her!

I was skeptical about the cost when looking into this option for swim lessons, but after others singing their praises and attending our first session, I am HAPPY to continue investing in our child this way. Wow. They not only have a beautiful, well-maintained facility, but their staff could not be nicer. And even outside of all of that, I love how our son has already learned something (and he got a little ribbon that night that we hung on the fridge), we got direct feedback that day on his progress, and the follow-up has been incredible with an email about his growth and next steps. I'm blown away. They really have the system down to make parents feel included, understood, and part of the process in their swimmer's development. I see us being part of the Goldfish Swim School community for a long time. Thank you!

We took my son and my niece for 1 month and I didn't see any progress in the classes they were always the same I didn't see anything new I decided with my sister to try one more month giving the opportunity to the school and the teacher that this was going to change nothing happened the 2 classes of the following month it was the same the teacher a little distracted if it wasn't talking to someone else worried that the class would end looking at the clock, I decided not to take my son even knowing that I had already paid for the following 2 classes I was going to lose my money, my sister still took my niece 3 classes of the second month one class more than me and she told me that it was the same in terms of learning nothing new the same from the 1st day that classes began we decided to cancel the classes of the month that came and even so they charged us we went to make the claim that they had charged us for the classes and we had already canceled them and even so we had paid for classes in which we had not taken our children !!! IT WAS NOT ENOUGH to have paid for 2 classes that my son did not attend and CHARGE ME another month I asked for my refund they said they were going to make me wait 3 days and the days have passed and I do not see the money reflected on my card I called again and now they tell me that they are not going to return my money but that they save it for me for when my son is grown up and decides to return !! No, absolutely NOT, I just need a refund of my money.

4 kids in 1 class that can’t swim with 1 teacher.
Be on high alert and be watching your child at all times. A little boy went under water tonight because the teacher was too busy talking to the life guard.
My daughter has been in lessons for a few months now. She hasn’t learned a single thing. When I asked for a refund they told me they wouldn’t be able to do so. They told me they could put the balance on my account for us to use if we ever decided to come back. They continued to tell me their class sizes are better than all the other swim places around. While in the lane over there were 2 kids and 2 teachers. Who were atleast 6 or 7 of age.
The amount of money you pay monthly for your child to learn how to swim in a “safe” environment, they should be able to hire another teach for classes of 4 where the kids can’t swim.
If you ask for a private swim lesson you’ll pay 3x the price !
I would not trust them with my child. Look else where. You can also google the 4 different things they teach your child.. class after class..

Would not stop texting me and calling me after I called 1 time to inquire about the prices. Asked them twice to stop contacting me and said I wasn't interested and yet they refuse. Had to block them through text call and email. Borderline harassing someone who showed curiosity about prices is not how you win customers. 👎

I love Goldfish. My daughter started about a year ago and has gone from a kid absolutely terrified of the water to one that swims better than me (and then some!). She looks like such a natural out there, and the instructors are patient with her on days when she's feeling anxious or frustrated.

For fellow loners and neurodivergent adults like myself (or if you have a neurodivergent child), a warning:

Coming here at a busy time slot is a nightmare. Adults will attempt to save seats, block changing rooms or the bathroom during transitions, will loiter by the hair drying station (making it impossible to dry your kids hair), or will try to barge through to the swimming area at inappropriate times. The other day I watched an older women bang on the glass, yell and then wildly gestate her arms to the employees on the other side because she couldn't see her granddaughter: the irony is that class was already over so there was nothing to see. The kids are better behaved than most of the parents and grandparents, in all honestly. I highly recommend coming armed with noise-cancelling headphones and a book, and maybe coming in a little early to get yourself and/or your child situated if you know you'll need it.

I wish employees did more to keep the sitting area orderly, but I've been in customer-facing jobs for most of my adult life and I know how fruitless and soul-sucking it can be to deal with adults like this. It's not worth getting screamed at when you're not making a living wage. Just something to consider. I put up with it because my daughter absolutely loves the place, and all she's been talking about is making it to Swim Force. It's been so rewarding to see her confidence grow, and to see her setting ambitious goals for herself!

Over $500 across multiple months and my son can't tread water / doggy paddle. Yet they kept bumping him up to new more expensive tiers. He can sure swim laps assisted though since that's all they do. This isn't the Olympics they need to learn to stay above water when stationary. I requested they focus on this multiple times but all they do is lap swim. Save yourself the money and go to the lessons at the greenwood high school...this was a complete waste.

My 8 year old now swims around the deep 8' end of the pool on her own. Took a good 30 min for me to hold back and leave her alone, but Goldfish made it happen by Pro 1 (she made it to Pro 2).

As far as swim lessons for young children go, goldfish has been an amazing experience.

Small classes, passionate instructors, and a great facility.

I have a 7 and 4 year old who attend weekly classes. They look forward to it.

In the event you miss a class, the staff or the app make it so easy to get a credit for a redo.

Our experience with Goldfish in Greenwood is different than most of the reviews. Our experience was we paid to have a party hosted at Goldfish. It was absolutely incredible and the people we worked with from the time of the reservation to the staff who actually worked during our party were always so friendly, kind, and patient. We celebrated our daughter's first birthday and it was such a wonderful experience for her along with our family and friends. We had numerous guests make the statement "this is absolutely perfect". Definitely consider having a kids birthday party here!!

Our almost 2 year old son loves the Mini 2 class. The instructor, Will, does a great job of teaching the class. He clearly communicates what we are working on with our child and he knew our son's name by the 2nd class. The facility is clean and the front desk staff are helpful. The only thing I wish was that it was easier to get a person on the phone when I call and that messages were returned more promptly. However, overall, we love Goldfish and are happy our son can learn how to swim here.

My son has been enrolled about 2 months and really enjoys his swim lessons! It has been a great way for us to share time together (we are in a parent/toddler class) and I've noticed such a change in how social he is with other children as well being much better about taking direction and listening. I like how many class times are available, very flexible with needing to reschedule. I like how they structure classes with mastering a few skills in each level, allowing students to move up quickly. My daughter has been terrified of getting water on her face since birth. It makes an issue for swimming and bath time. First class she was nervous as can b. Only letting the water to her chin and that alone was a fight. BUT 2nd week she was putting her own face in the water and going under all by her self!!! I’m so proud of her and her teacher for encouraging her all the way telling her safe ways to help and knowing what the right thing to say to help her over come this deep fear of hers!!

I was completely amazed by how much swim lessons helped my 1 year old. She fell in the pool on vacation and immediately flipped over to breathe. My daughter has always had a massive fear of water even touching her face. Within one month of Goldfish lessons weekly, she is confidently dunking her whole head and has come very close to swimming independently. 5 stars on the quality of the class but 1 star on the cost. So that average to 3. My son has progressed faster here than any other swim class, but my daughter has struggled due to her instructor changing 4 times in 4 weeks. Due to the cost, though, we will likely be going elsewhere soon.

We love the positive reinforcement, confidence, and all-around excitement that our kiddos get from going to swim lessons! Our daughter (just turned 5) went from being afraid of going underwater and floating in the first lesson, to floating and swimming on her own within a few months! Our son (almost 3) does every task in the Mini 3 class with absolute ease now! We have to tell both of our kiddos weekly that they can't run near the pool because they get so excited to see their teachers and classmates and look sooooo forward to their class! This swim school is open during a pandemic. They have special policies in place in an attempt to adhere to guidelines but even the GM doesn't know them so no one in the school is enforcing them. I gave it a chance with my son who really loves swimming and truly learned a lot in a short period of time. Unfortunately due to the lack of social distancing we cannot continue to go. Even the children in the pool are right on top of each other. It just feels unnecessary and unsafe given the current climate. When the pandemic eventually resolves we will try again.
