Illiana Strength and Conditinoing's training approach is for beginners through advanced athletes and clients to perform better, stay healthy, and achieve their strength and conditioning goals. This approach is structured with our end goal of not making you need our services. This is done by teaching you all we know during your progression with us so you are comfortable in training and eventually your own programming structure. This then becomes an investment for you to take the tools you have learned and stay healthy long after your time working with us.

Christian is the best! I have been training with him on and off for 2 years. His wife Julia is just as amazing! My progress is amazing! I have worked with Christian for a long time now. Christian is such a great PERSON and COACH!!!! He is very patient and kind! He goes into great detail for form checks! If I don’t understand something, he explains it in a way that I can or he has videos that he has done and sends them to me! His knowledge of programming and Exercise Science is compared to none!

I’ve been working with Christian for 8 years now, through multiple injuries and rehabs due to life and work he has still pushed me to be the best athlete/powerlifter, with overcoming the injuries and setbacks he’s coached me through everything and I’ve hit every goal I’ve set out to achieve this far. christian and i started working together in late 2019 after being recommended to try out powerlifting. we had a meeting and agreed to start at the basics and build forward.
after thinking i knew how to lift weights and how they moved from a to b i was completely wrong. and christian would make little adjustments. and i mean “move your big toe over and curl your toes to be on your heel” and bam. completely different.
over time we had a crew of 5 people. that came at the same time. every day. we had to train. under the bar at 9 am. christian watched every lift of every move we made. and if julia wasn’t busy training or training her own clients she was right there also. and if we had to train at night one of them came to watch on their own time. we became not only coaches and partners we became a family. we watched football, we had cookouts, we trained together, we did lots together. and that’s extremely rare.
christian brought me to limits i thought i could never get too. it was never “that’s unrealistic” it was “how hard are you willing to work to get there”
working with christian and julia. and that liliana team at the time. had taught me more discipline and structure than any event in my life. and i could never thank them enough. those years are something i will cherish forever.
any person that asks me about coaching the first people i send is the anto’s.
any other option is #2, so do yourself a favor

Christian Anto has coached me in powerlifting for about four years. I began training with him when I was 16 years old. Not only did he make me enjoy the sport of powerlifting, but he also helped me, as a young female, develop a healthy relationship with fitness. Christian is extremely knowledgeable in strength and conditioning. Through training with him, I have experienced significant progress in my powerlifting journey. My husband and I were referred to Christian by our Chiropractor Dr Bob. He recommended Christian because he had worked with him in the past and he knew that Christian’s knowledge, expertise and professional approach would be a huge benefit for each of us. In addition, he liked the way Christian explains things and he knew that this would be something that would appeal to our personalities. We had our reservations as strength training was new to us. But Christian quickly put us at ease through his very thorough approach. He tailors our work outs to address our specific needs. He works around any past injuries and chronic issues in such a way as to address and enhance the muscles instead of just ignoring the area totally. He explains everything very well so that we have a good understanding of what we are uncertain about. I have also liked the way he is so very tedious and careful to make sure that we are doing movements correctly so as not to injure ourselves. I cannot recommend Christian more highly. We feel so lucky that our first experience to strength training has been such a good one under Christian’s supervision. And the really awesome part of it is that I am finding that my movements through daily life are smoother and so much easier! If you are having doubts about whether he is the right coach for you or whether or not you should consider strength training for yourself, I’m here to tell you that he is one of the best choices you can make for your health! We feel that the investment we have made in ourselves to have Christian as our coach is one of the best gifts we have ever given ourselves!! He is truly an amazing coach!! And if you are looking for a woman coach, you are in luck as his wife Julia is also an amazing coach! We have had the privilege of working with her a few times and also have found her to be very thorough as well!!

I worked with Christian in person and online. Both were great experiences. In person is obviously better because instruction is easier, however online was pretty straightforward. Christian was clear in his instructions and always replied to messages/questions in a timely manner. Christian is very knowledgeable and understands the human body and how it moves very well.

Christian is my first serious strength coach, so my perspective is rather narrow from a comparative context. After a year and a half we've peaked twice (he has switched gears a couple times at my request). Each peak has led to big PR jumps in every lift. He's a great sounding board and puts my health first and I know he genuinely wants me to understand my potential. He's open to all questions and even encourages them, he has a lot of content written online and is featured on podcasts so its clear your goals are his goals and passion. Educational content related to each program would be cool but he does encourage that you educate yourself and remain curious. That being said, what matters most is the goal and you never feel like he's not in your corner and my numbers are only going up. Id lifted for years before hiring him but based on my experience and understanding his relationship with other athletes can see hed be an excellent recommendation for any beginner/intermediate/advanced athlete. (Plus he legitimately lights up when you connect dots and teaches so its obvious hes invested)

I have trained with Christian for over a year and a half. I am an avid golfer and travel 30+ weeks a year. Not only has Christian helped me get stronger, he has been able to tailor programs for when I am in season and on the road. I started with Christian because I had chronic back pain that required regular trips to a chiropractor and restricted my activity. I have not needed a chiropractor in over 6 months and my activities are now unrestricted. I’d recommend Christian to anyone.

Christian Anto was my strength and conditioning coach for over 1 year. He coached me in the sport of powerlifting, which lead me to doing my first powerlifting meet. I worked with Christian training in group sessions, 1:1 sessions, as well as online programming. Christian has a very technical eye, often times being able to correct one attribute of your form, which has a cascading effect, correcting other attributes. Christian is cool, calm, and collected. He makes training fun, but holds you accountable. He is dedicated to keeping his athletes/clients healthy. He takes health as priority number 1. I'd say the very best part of working with Christian was developing a friendship with him. It's one thing to work with someone to get stronger, but it's entirely something different when you actually like your coach as a person. Christian is selfless, genuine, and dedicated. I would highly suggest Christian as a strength and conditioning coach.

In February of 2018, I had my first shoulder replacement surgery. I met Christian Anto and started training with him in May of 2018. I found Christian to be very knowledgeable about the body and conscientious towards injuries someone may have sustained. Prior to Christian, I would work out, work through the pain, and leave the gym in pain. Since working with Christian as my trainer, I no longer feel pain the same way. Christian is attentive during my training, even reading my painful facial expressions and always has a solution. He does it in a manner so I am still hitting my target muscles, but alleviating the pain. It could be as simple as him instructing me to move my hands in or out, gripping the bar different, not reaching so far or reaching further. It’s the little things that I would have never thought of that he comes up with in a blink of an eye. Christian is always in constant contact with me, following up on me after every workout, checking to see how I feel. He checks up on me not just inside the gym but outside the gym. He holds me accountable even when I don’t want to be accountable! Christian is an accomplished powerlifter in his own right. Christian Anto doesn’t just coach, he does it, he lives it.

I started working with Christian on remote coaching and programming about a year ago. I had come off some somewhat frustrating experiences with coaching in the past but had spoken to some of his clients who all had great things to say and had followed him for quite some time on social media. I honestly had a lot of hesitation going in about remote coaching in general, but I can say with zero hesitation working with Christian has been amazing for my progress and general well being. I had stalled in a lot of strength progress and had reverted back to overtraining prior, and Christian very quickly put a stop to that. The improvement in my physical health, my progress, as well as my psychological health has been life changing. My sleep improved, I’ve made great progress, even my relationship improved. Christian has been very understanding of my personal situation as my line of work demands certain things that may not be the case with other people. Despite the hurdles, Christian was able to come up with programming that helped me stay in condition and make progress toward my strength goals. And even on the way he helped me navigate a torn bicep (work injury) and keep me training -and even progressing while I was rehabbing, and coming back without missing a beat. Remote coaching is a bit tricky as it is very dependent on communication. This is another area Christian excels, if you do your part and communicate questions or concerns, you will always get a well thought out answer or remedy. Honestly getting on board with Christian has been the single best decision I’ve made for my training. He has a wealth of information, and has demonstrated time and time again that he has his clients progress and well being at the top of his priorities. If you have the opportunity to work with Christian, even on a remote basis I highly recommend you do so. I really can’t overstate how great the experience has been.

I have had the opportunity to work with Christian Anto a couple of times. I had watched Christian training other people long before I hired him. I was impressed with how he went through every procedure with his clients in detail. I had back surgery in 2014. I wanted full recovery. I needed to be able to get back to lifting with a strong back. Christian designed my training sessions with doing just that. He helped me strengthen all the muscles in my back and hips and abs, getting me stage ready for nationals. I hired Christian again in 202 after tearing my anterior gluteal muscle. Once again I found I needed his expertise to help me get ready for my pro show. Christian is without a doubt one of the best trainers I've ever had the pleasure of working with! His knowledge of muscle and human anatomy is amazing.

I've been working with Christian Anto for about a year and a half now and am absolutely loving the progress I'm seeing in the sport of powerlifting. The coaching is primarily online but I've also gone in for a few sessions at Illiana Power Asylum. Christian is extremely meticulous in critiquing form and providing cues to make sure everything is in check.
