Inner Strength Essentials by Kristy Howell is a small, private fitness studio that specializes in helping women move in ways that feel best for their bodies. Training includes Pilates Equipment (Chair, Tower and Reformer), Yoga and Guided Meditation. Sessions can be done in person or virtually. All sessions are catered to the client's needs and wellness goals.

I worked with Kristy for a few months this past summer and she is incredible! I had never used a reformer before and Kristy made me feel so comfortable and gave me a great workout. Working with Kristy gave me the confidence to take a class at a studio and be able to keep up with the class. I can’t recommend her enough especially if you’re new to Pilates.

It’s been fantastic working with Kristy. I have several medical issues that are somewhat limiting for strength and mobility and Kristy met me where I was. Working with Kristy has been my first venture into doing Pilates and she has been deeply attentive to my specific needs and goals. She's shown me how challenging, fun, and essential Pilates can be. Given my profession, I am on my feet a lot and hold a lot of tension in various areas of my body. I will forever be grateful to have found Kristy Howell. Her masterful understanding of human anatomy and expert teaching skills have helped me regain critical strength and mobility. Kristy is kind and patient, which is helpful when one is struggling to learn or relearn new skills and build or rebuild physical abilities. At the same time, her consistent affirmations and encouragements keep progress ongoing. Some days, I’ve asked Kristy to ramp up my workout and other days I think I just need some gentle stretching. While I may believe I know what’s best for me, Kristy’s keen assessment and intuitive skill often leads us into a workout I wasn’t expecting. The outcome is always that I feel as though I’ve received the exact workout I really needed. Kristy is really remarkable in this regard. Kristy is absolutely incredible! I love that she emphasizes the mind-body connection before each work out. It really does make a big difference! I’ve only been going to her for a couple of months now but I quickly got back into my routine after Covid and now I feel stronger than I ever have. I am falling back in love with my body, and I owe so much of that to her! The private lessons make all the difference in the world. You know you’re working hard and she helps you maintain good form. The workouts are specifically designed for you, so you see results quickly! She is such a good teacher and her studio has such good energy. I lost 12 pounds in such a quick amount of time and even though that wasn’t my focus, I think having fun while you are working out is the difference! You won’t regret working with Kristy! You will feel honored to do so and appreciate how much she helps you meet your goals!

I moved to the Michiana area a little over 3 years ago. I met Kristy shortly after moving here and I feel incredibly lucky that our paths crossed when they did. I was pregnant with my second child and began attending Barre and Cardio classes at the gym I belonged to. I loved her classes. I was looking for a workout, but didn't want to do anything too risky due to my pregnancy being high risk. She provided modifications to make sure the workout was safe, yet also challenging. I then started attending her yoga and Pilates mat classes at another facility in the area, which I also loved! And finally, after my baby was born, I started attending private Pilates reformer sessions at her in-home studio. Kristy helped me get my body back in shape and motivated me to do so! Given the course of events with the pandemic, I now work out with Kristy virtually via zoom, or train with her in her backyard. I also attend her virtual or in person classes. She encourages me to work harder and is such a positive force in my life. She has become knowledgeable about my body and tailors workouts to suit exactly what my body needs. I cannot say enough positive things about Kristy. I had always dreamed of having a personal trainer and she is the perfect trainer. Kristy believes that movement is so beneficial in order to help people feel their best. She reminds people to be grateful to have the gift to be able to move their bodies, which I love. I highly recommend Kristy!

I took a class of Kristy’s at a yoga studio years ago. I was drawn to her energy and ability to seemlessly lead a meditative and physically challenging class. She guides you in a way that fosters a mind-body connection, which is very important to me. I began taking private lessons with her and discovered that my sessions exceeded my expectations. Not only did I feel like I was safely taking care of my body, but I also left feeling like my soul had been nourished. Kristy has a unique gift. Kristy is the BEST when it comes to giving excellent easy-to-follow instructions and making sure the client is using good form. Her workouts, via Zoom or in-person private sessions, are varied, challenging, and customized to meet the needs and abilities of participants. Finding a personal trainer was a "bucket list" priority and she has blown by my expectations - I feel stronger and more flexible than I did ten years ago!

I absolutely love Kristy’s workouts! This has been a huge outlet for me during COVID. Her classes have unique movements that hit muscles you didn’t even know you had. Her style is gentle yet intense. I’ve had rotator cuff issues for several years which limit my mobility, but I’m able to do most of the movements pain free. I highly recommend trying Kristy’s classes- you’ll get hooked!
