Tried it but didn’t work for us being closed on Sunday and quite expensive for 2 seniors.
Not super clean or well staffed. Should be monitoring rooms every once in a while. Lots of unsupervised teens in weight room.

My 4yo and I are very active and travel a lot so we maintain a national Y membership that has been well utilized in many states. We visited the MC area from nyc off season and found the weather to be quite temperamental leaving us stir crazy in the rental we were in. We went to the local YMCA to find anything to do rather than watch Netflix all day and were greeted with absolute warmth and accommodation. Kim (director) is an absolute delight. Just sunshine on a cloudy day! Within the first 10 minutes we walked about the facility and were offered several activities for my daughter to interact with peers. No matter what time we visited there was something for her to do. The heated pool was our fave. It was exactly what we didn’t know we needed and more than we could’ve asked for. This locale is a gem. See you again this summer, Kim!

We pay a lot of money for a membership.
You guys keep that place up to bear minimum to Keep it up to cold as well as No air conditioning in the downstairs basketball gym in the summer which means you can't go down there and play Maybe a little bit and have to leave because you can't stand the heat. Then you can never use the upstairs gym because it's always something turn up their or there's nothing going on but you don't want nobody up there.

I work out in the gym at the YMCA, and it’s is a great place to train. Pretty much all the same gear as Planet Fitness. The staff is so great - helpful, friendly, and encouraging. Thank you, YMCA

My family and I took a wrong turn looking for the gym and found ourselves in some kind of basement.
Some guy with keys comes up and aggressively asks what we're doing down there.
When we tell him we're looking for the gym
He says, "You're not allowed down here! Get out!"
I say, "get out?" As in,there's no better way to offer directions to someone that's lost in the facility.
He says, "yea! Get out!"
He looked roided out and ready to fight.
Since he had keys on him I assume he worked there.
I told the guy up front who also started getting defensive.
I just grabbed the manager card and we left.
Crazy place.
Ghetto.
Never going back.
They're probably used to dealing with all kinds of non-sense. I get it.
But these employees are clearly not professional.
Steer clear.

Great spacious facility with Olympic size pool, a number of athletic courts, large weight/workout room and additional aerobics machine room.
Also good selection of classes, pickleball and activities for children and families. Plus a
safe, well-managed and friendly staff. Michigan City area is very fortunate to have such a facility.

The one in MC is not able to control the air temperature. It's constantly around 80 degrees year round. They also don't have Wifi.....at least not one that works

Always a great experience. My only complaint would be that kids are often dropped off with no supervision, so they get in the way of people actually trying to use the facility. I wish they had a teen club for kids who are just hanging out together.

I like the one in Laporte best, they have better weights, also I was told I had to leave and change my shorts to get in the pool. The life guard had on the same kind of shorts I had, in mid winter while I had my daughter with me a very big inconvenience.

Just became a member, but the equipment seems to be in good repair, the place is clean. Plenty of locker space. Employees seem to be well informed and friendly. Only thing is the pool has soooo much chlorine, but bought goggles, and I would love to see towel service.

This place is a joke. Too expensive for most of our community. My disabled son would not be allowed to share in a family membership. So it would be 700.00 a year for my husband and I and another 240.00 for my disabled child. Who has this kind of disposable income? It's a crime to charge my disabled child and refuse to allow him to fall under the family membership.
