Clean, smaller gym with friendly staff. Not too crowded. Has about 20 weight-lifting machines, 10 treadmills, dumbbells, and squat/bench free weights.

I like this gym. It is a smaller facility with a free weight, machines, group fitness room, shower and a K-cup machine for coffee.
It is located in the basement of the building.

Nice gym with new, clean facilities and friendly staff. It is small (though you get admission to the bigger Y in Lafayette too, if you want things like a pool), but I have never had to wait for an elliptical or bike, and they have a full weight training machine circuit. The convenient location is the biggest reason I signed up. Most users seem to be downtown office workers, so it is not one of those uber-fit gym scenes (which can be awkward if you're like me and can never remember how to set up the weight machines!!!). It is not a super-fancy gym, but they do provide towels and hair dryers, and the showers are really clean.

It's a little hard to find the first time, so be sure to ask around and look for signs posted in the building. Awesome location to exercise for the downtown pedestrian. Parking garage is attached to building. Small capacity gym, but membership provides access to both downtown and 18th street locations.
Group fitness classes here are sparse, but they are adding more as the demand increases. I highly recommend trying the group classes, no matter your level of fitness.
