Headphones are a requirement here as the Christian music they blast should be classified as torture. Otherwise, it’s a perfectly fine gym. They have everything you need whether you want to lift weights, do cardio, or take a class. The staff is always friendly.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The owner's son, Kyle Lymberopoulos, has a fragile ego and feels threatened by little old ladies (more on that shortly). The entire place is disgusting, bats flying around the gym, a nasty hot tub, the inhalation room has been broken forever, carpet taken out from changing areas and not properly replaced and several people have slipped and fallen. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

But moving on to his fragile ego. In November of 2024 I posted this: My mother-in-law has been a long time member of LivRite. She has friends and attends water aerobics regularly. She is in her 70s and is the most caring, fun, irreverent woman you could hope to meet.

She recently was put on probation by the 30 something son of the owners because he couldn't take a joke and wanted to bully an old woman into an apology she didn't owe anyone.

She randomly, light-heartedly, flips people off. She's constantly joking around, and it's quite endearing to anyone who actually knows her, because she's honestly the kindest person. Well, she did to him, from across a room, and HE DIDN'T EVEN SEE IT. But someone decided it was worth tattling about, and rather than be a normal grown adult and move on or laugh it off, he decided to be offended and to confront her. He tried to bully her into an apology, threatening her membership and eventually putting her on probation and notice because his ego was bruised.

I hope she takes her money somewhere else. She may hang around because she's made real friends that have seen each other through love and loss, cancer and other ailments. But they don't deserve her money or her light.

So last week, Kyle randomly decided to revoke her membership by phone call. He promised he was open to talking about it and sharing who the specific "complaintants" were, in person, but when she came in, he talked over her, and made multiple generalized accusations with no details and no teeth (because they weren't true). He did, however, continue to refer to the bird incident, repeatedly, and even accused her of doing it several more times (again, not true) even though they had already had a conversation a year ago and he had told her she was welcome back. He would not let her speak, and barely let her husband speak. I have the recording of the entire incident to prove his despicable behavior. Her entire group of Silver Sneakers missed her terribly when she was on probation, and he losing members over this. He claims he lost members over the bird incident, and that she harassed her instructor, but again, could not give any specifics, because it's not true (she loves her instructor).

I will tell everyone to avoid this dirty place with the low-class, fragile ego manager who rides the coattails of his father.

Such a gem, and the greatest part of livrite is that there Christian based.
Great place to workout the stresses of life. Clean, efficient, and when the receptionist isn't busy cleaning, they greet you like family.
The tools are there, just like the good book, if you don't utilize your tools, then your not reaching your full potential.
It breaks my heart people bash this place for minor reasons, and some are just plain humorous.
Take accountability, step up, sweat it out, and strive to livrite! 🙏

An amazing place! This thing has been here for as long as I can remember at least. But the upgrades they've done with the rates and the whole place are only. First they have a ton of gray elliptical equipment cardio equipment basically second they've got free weights and cable weights and then a walking track and best of all I have a hot tub and a pool sauna. Very happy here and highly recommend joining if you haven't

Pretty decent place i love how theres floors to separate yourself from others if you see fit to do so probably the largest gym ive stepped into but it does raise concerns for cleanliness i wish there was a cold water filter tap to refill water. Andersons water supply exceeds EWG health guidelines and just because its legal does not mean safe its very unhealthy to consume thank you and stay healthy. 💪

Make sure you take a tour of the place before signing up and getting stuck in a year contract that they won’t let you cancel. The gym isn’t bad, but is outdated most of the times I go I have to wait for machines to be open and for $40 a month I feel like there could be a lot more upgrades being done. You’re stuck to just using that gym you signed up for (such as fishers which is way nicer.) the family plan is outrageous compared to other places around. Main reason I wanted out of my contract is so I can join another gym that allows my family to go that’s not an arm and a leg.

The group fitness room does not have adequate heating and air conditioning. Today it was 88 degrees in the group fitness room. Just outside the door it is 77 degrees! In the winter we have seen our breath it was so cold. The owner is aware of this problem and said it was good to sweat. There are older people in these classes and it's dangerously hot! The wood floor is warped and the boards are uneven. The solution to this problem was to put blue tape over the dangeroous spots that are uneven. The gym never looks clean. The front counter staff rarely say hello or acknowledge you! I come to this gym for zumba and if I could find classes anywhere else would never return! I wish I could attach the pics of the floor.

The reason we’re only giving four stars is because I attended this gym long long time ago when it was Excel and it was an amazing Facility I mean genuinely top-notch .. I have to admit nearly 2 decades later it’s just not the same place.. BUT. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH ..I’ve just visited several gyms here in Anderson and Pendleton Before I decided on Renewing this year contract and where I’m gonna go .. boy it Really put things into perspective.. while LivRite is not exactly what Excel was it is still by far In my opinion, the best gym in Anderson, considering the amenities offered .. I couldn’t find one Gym in Madison county that Could even begin to compare!! For me, I will absolutely be sticking with LivRite!!! It’s a really good price for the multitude of amenities offered .. No other Gym in Madison county offers half of what you get at this gym. And in my opinion, to say, half is given these other gyms way more credit than they deserve … I’m just giving my honest opinion so others may see this if they’re trying to decide where to go go ahead do your own research but I promise you you will come back to this gym and this is the gym you will want to come to!!
And I will be renewing my year contract immediately!

Love it here. It's a little pricey but if you use all the facilities like the pool, breathing room, and hot room it's a decent deal. Main downside to the gym is there only have 1 of most machines and a few they have 2. So if you have a specific workout planned you may have to wait for it to open up. But they have tons of stuff to use both free weights and machines. Bathrooms could use an updating but they are functional.

I was a member here 24 years ago. And this place, the pool and shower room in particular, looks as though anything that has fallen apart has simply had the debris swept away without repairs being made. Recently, I went to see about a membership. The filth on the floor of the locker room and shower area, is no doubt in part of the reason why the pool water is so cloudy. Tiles missing, shower heads missing, old woodwork in pool area shows decades of age. The benches in the sauna are black from people wearing their shoes inside and stepping on the seats with their filthy shoes. So bummed out that i no longer had the environment of the great place it used to be, and i just couldn't pay for that type of setting.

I'm very happy I joined LivRite Fitness in Anderson!. This is a great place! The new owners are making needed improvements on a timely basis.

Had a membership but never used I go in to cancel it they gave me a refund of 90 dollars later on that day they took 39.99 out of my account next day they took 25 dollars twice out my account said they would put it back I waited a week nothing ill call and they said we refunded you money and the money out of the bank was a error but it still cost me 90 bucks but there not at fault so I would check your accounts and see how much there charging you 90 dollars a month is ridiculous

I love this place. It's a good gym. I've seen all ages and levels of fitness here. Plenty of options plenty of weights in weight rooms. Sauna recently got a new heating unit. The facility could use a good maintenance man. There are broken tiles, holes in drywall and areas in desperate need of updating but don't let that deter you. It is a good place and has alot of potential. Hopefully they continue the updating, I'd like for the steam room to reopen. I'd even be willing to pay more on a membership to assist in them upkeep better.

Just went to this gym to potentially get a membership. I always enjoy the pool and hot tub. Boy where do I begin on the nastiness that is this place. Hot tub jets didn't work. The steam room had no steam (mostly because the doors are left open). There's MOLD ALL OVER the pool area. On the ceiling, floor, etc. There's 2 showers constantly running in the pool area and that has caused lots of loose tiles and hard water stains. The hot tub itself is extremely dirty and there was loose flooring all inside of it. Also it wasn't very hot. Felt like a warm bath basically. There's tons of unlabeled doors that lead to nowhere. If you cut yourself somewhere get a tetanus shot because the place overall looks extremely dirty. They need to close for 2 weeks to deep clean everything before they reopen again.

Everything is old worn down and broken. The hot tub always has sandy feeling in the bottom of it. The steam room was broken for the entire year we unfortunately were trapped in our membership. There is zero communication between staff. Honestly couldn't wait to get out of our contract and go somewhere else.

I've been going to livrite for a couple years now. I find the staff to be very friendly. The manager has made great improvements, including removing the carpeting from the men's room which greatly improved the smell. He's added great new equipment as well. Chrissy is very friendly and helpful. She makes going less of a chore. George is very knowledgeable and will push you if you train with him. Also, the sauna is the best.

The place is gross from the inside out. I went there as a guest to see if I liked it, I definitely do not! Black mold basically everywhere you look. Just all nasty nasty nasty. That was definitely the first and LAST time I ever go there! Between the walls and ceiling fall apart to black mold, the smells are awful and just really nasty everywhere. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!!

Sauna, Whirlpool, steam room, inhalation room, and swimming pool are what I enjoy the most in the winter time.
In the summer time walking around in air conditioning, work out machines, using free weights to stay fit is great, too.

Nastiest gym I have been to in my life. Mold in the bathrooms and on the ceiling tiles. Doesnt look like they have ever cleaned any of the machines. Was there for 20 minutes and just couldnt deal with the filth and it just seemed like business as usual for them. They want 39.99 for a single person for a 12 month locked in membership. I tried white river and didnt think a gym could be any grosser, thanks for proving me wrong Liverite...guess its back to Planet Fitness for me, for what the lack in amenities they make up for in cleanliness.
