Gorgeous, clean, well-equipped studio with infrared heating panels, and an additional nest-like studio for multiple classes at once. Skilled teachers, especially Matece who brings decades of experience and multi-cultural education from her time in Asia and studies with Advanced Yoga teachers globally. You wonโ€™t find a better 200 or 300hour in-person teacher training with a kind, nourishing community to deepen your practice.

As someone who suffers from sciatica, I find tremendous relief from Mateceโ€™s yin yoga class. Going routinely has given me my mobility back and reduced my pain to such a degree that my quality of life has vastly improved. I highly recommend this class for anybody who deals with back pain.

My first yoga class at Nourishing Heart Yoga was a lovely experience. Matece was the instructor. The class (seasonal flow) was energizing yet relaxing. It was grounding and nourishing. The space was calming, very well kept, and inviting. I will definitely go back and have already recommended the studio to others.

I recently attended an Embodied Dance class with Angela Williams at Nourishing Heart Yoga, and WOW was it so nourishing for me. First, let me share that the space was so welcoming. I felt right at home with the warm colors and beautiful natural light. Parking was ample, free and easy to navigate. The studio was easy to find and the other participants were a delight to spend time with. Second, let me tell you about the facilitator, Angela. I attended one of her classes several years back and was in awe of her skills to invite me to be playful and feel welcome and safe in my body... and if it were even possible, she has an even greater mastery of creating space for others to feel so comfortable and free and perfect exactly as they are. I moved my body, worked up a sweat, listened to a great playlist and made some new friends. Thank you, Angela, for the gift you are to this world!

A gem in Bloomington! This is a lovely and welcoming yoga studio. The staff are wonderful and the studio is a beautiful, cozy space. I also like that the studio offers different class series and workshops that change regularly to offer new kinds of yoga classes in addition to the regular schedule.

A friend and I bought the introductory pass to try out the studio about a year ago and we both fell in love. I bought a monthly subscription and have been a regular ever since. Matece and all her instructors are warm and welcoming to everyone. I have been able to explore so many healing options, from yoga and qi qong, to voice work and embodied dance, meditation, trauma healing and more. I love the space and always feel better when I walk out then when I walked in. Thank you for such a wonderful space.

Coming home to yoga after a practice lapse of, well a long time, I'm thrilled to have chosen Nourishing Heart to resume in my 7th decade. So much knowledge, skill, compassion, acceptance, joy! Also it's so satisfying to have a place to explore all the limbs of yoga beyond asana. Thank you Matece and all those who enable the space to live up to it's name.๐Ÿ™

The space and community Matece & her team have built here are wonderful. I've been going to classes here at least weekly for the past year and every instructor I've had is welcoming, gentle, kind, & skillful.
There is a wide variety of classes for people at all skill levels, ability levels, & body types. The workshops they put on are relatable/applicable to all- not just folks who want to pursue teacher training or work towards really complex physical poses. They have all the equipment you might need available to you as well as water & tea options.
Grounded in the spiritual aspects of yoga and rooted/dedicated to their local community, this is an excellent place to come learn and practice yoga.

The foundational class with Anna was incredibly helpful in correcting some form issues I was having which was putting undue stress on my shoulder that led to an injury. She has amazing energy and puts techniques into words that I easily understood. Her tip on engaging core was the best yet! I would take this class again.

I am beyond thankful that I chose Nourishing Heart as the studio to start my yoga journey. As a plus size beginner with a chronic illness, I had a lot of anxiety beginning my journey. All the instructors at Nourishing Heart have been incredibly welcoming and kind. There are always variations offered in class to make it accessible for beginners. Everything in class is always optional and I always feel encouraged to listen to and honor my body. This studio is such a safe space. Every class, I leave my mat nourished mind, body, and soul.

Finding this amazingly welcoming studio in town is just the boost that my life needed. I decided to get back to a yoga practice after an 8 year break. Finding this studio has made getting back into that groove easy - each class that I have tried has been a delightfully warm and inviting experience.

Absolutely love this place. They have an incredible 3 week unlimited pass for newcomers for $39. I signed up for a Beginner's Workshop class with Anna Branam. I contemplated cancelling because I was so nervous I would feel uncomfortable, considering I know almost nothing about yoga, and am plus sized, etc. I am so glad I didn't.
I started off so nervous and by the end of the class was full on laughing and smiling because Anna was so funny, relatable, and comforting. Because of my experience with her, I have attended a few more classes and absolutely love this place.
Please, just take a chance and try this place out. So many beginner friendly classes to choose from, as well as more intense ones.
I can't recommend it enough.

This yoga studio makes me feel welcome the second I walk in the door. All the instructors are great, and they structure their classes with multiple pose options for all levels of yoga from beginner to more advanced. The intro special for 3 weeks of unlimited classes is also a really great deal that gives people the option to get exposure to any classes or styles theyโ€™d be interested in. Nourishing Heart is my happy place!

I really appreciate Nourishing Heart's emphasis on the connect of body, mind and spirit in all the practices and classes offered. This is not a studio that simply offers yoga as workout, but uses yoga, meditation, embodied and mindful movement and more as practices to truly nourish body, mind and heart holistically.

Edited Jan 2023.
Came back to share that I've continued to find Nourishing Heart Yoga Studio supportive and nurturing. My instructors have skillfully communicated that it's okay for me to be in my practice, just as I am, allowing space to both challenge myself and to find rest. As a relatively new student to yoga, I find NHY to be welcoming and not at all intimidating. Thanks NHY!

Grateful to have found Nourishing Heart Yoga Studio, located near the Bryan Park Neighborhood. Having been to over 40 classes since first 'trying out' the studio with the 3 week-promo pass (and quickly finding value in the monthly unlimited yoga pass option), I've appreciated the variety of offerings. Seeing new classes join the current schedule has given me the opportunity to attend the classes that offer me what I'm looking for (restorative vs creating flexibility vs minfulness + movement, etc).

There are a variety of props for the class to access each class, as well as yoga mats, if you don't have your own. Water or tea is available, as well. I have appreciated being able to build my own yoga schedule, one that I can change depending on my work and family needs. Scheduling is easy and if I have questions, it's been easy to connect with Nourishing Heart Yoga Studio.

Matece has been my teacher for about 5 years now. I've followed her through several studios and was thrilled when she opened one of her own. NHYS has a wide array of offerings. I'm able to go several times a week and I've been to almost all of them. Vinyasa, Gentle, Mindful, Yin, Restorative, Sacred Embodiment and the latest offering of Trauma-Informed Yoga.

I've had 8 different well-trained teachers! Many of them, if not all, have gone through her own Nourishing Heart Yoga teacher training program, some up to 500 hours. They are all knowledgeable, gentle, encouraging and easily anticipate if someone needs a hands-on assist.

I've grown and learned so much about my body, my mind and my heart practicing here. I can't say enough about how much I love Matece, this space and the community here. You simply MUST try it!

My time at Nourishing Heart has been a restorative process. Earlier this year, I needed a reboot to focus on myself to help support moving forward positively, fearlessly and I felt lost. I am something a novice when it comes to yoga practices, dabbling over the years in person, videos, websites, books. Nothing really impacted me in the ways I have found here.

Initially I took advantage of their excellent 3 week unlimited option to explore and see if this was the practice for me. I've been able to experience a new yoga practice in beautiful ways. Ways to support myself as I support others. The support I have been given is a gift. Matece (the owner) and every instructor provides a safe space and the latitude to do what's right for you and your body. It's in that support that I've been able to further my practice, find inner strength even when life throws challenges. The neurogenic yoga for stress and trauma release has changed my life.

So if you are a newbie or a seasoned Yogi, Nourishing Heart is a welcomed and beautiful opportunity for you!

I'm new to yoga (did lots of videos at home during the pandemic) and this was the first studio I signed up for. I'm so glad I did! The 3 week unlimited deal hooked me - I tried a bunch of the different classes to see what I liked. Found what I liked and signed up for a membership.

I love the mix of offerings. There's something for every mood/feeling/need. Mindfulness and meditation are incorporated throughout every practice in an accessible way that is easy for beginners to get into. I definitely leave each class with an improved sense of wellbeing. You know that feeling you get after a massage... that's how I feel every time I leave Nourishing Heart.

Matece and her team of instructors are incredibly knowledgable, great teachers, and really compassionate and caring people. Highly recommend taking a class and trying out this studio!

The studio is beautiful, comfortable and in great location. It's a work of love all around. The founder (my favorite yoga instructor in town since 2006) Matece Skow, is a very experienced yogi who teaches from the heart. Most of the instructors passed through her teacher training and carry on with the beautiful goal of authentic yoga that nurtures body, heart and mind. Great variety of styles to choose from! Don't miss it!

Our now 18 year old daughter began a yoga practice when transitions were very challenging for her. Finding the right fit for her was an exercise in love and curiosity for all of us involved. I'm delighted to share that one of her favorite teachers is at Nourishing Heart Yoga (NHY).

Our daughter feels absolutely safe with her teacher, and trusts that she can freely practice in a way that feels right to her body. Her teacher respects my daughter's request for no adjustments while gently supporting and facilitating her learning - it's exactly what she needs!

Myself, I find the studio an immediately warm and welcoming place. There is a wide variety of offerings so that wherever I am in my practice, there's a class for me. They even offer NeuroMovementยฎ, which requires absolutely zero yoga or exercise experience.

I'm grateful to have NHY as a resource in our neighborhood.

I took my 200hr YTT with Matece and it was such an incredible experience and journey. She has a wealth of knowledge in all areas regarding yoga and I love that my training was a blend of deep spirituality, connection with my fellow students, and anatomy.

I have also taken classes with Darcie before and her classes are intentional and focused on you connecting with your body. I am so excited to practice with her in this space.

My bodywork sessions with Matece Skow have been phenomenally healing for me. Her positive and wholehearted presence was palpable from the moment we discussed my needs in the first session. The sensitivity, centeredness and groundedness I feel from her is deeply comforting and at a level beyond any massage therapist in my memory. I value so highly her deep listening, attention to my issues and her capacity to change course and follow my communication before as well as during a session. She is also capable of going into a deep respectful silence which allows me to trance out in all the ways I love to do in a great massage. Matece is extraordinarily skilled and knowledgeable and seems to always be learning and growing in her craft. I have been going to her to help with some ongoing recovery from nerve damage. However, my last session with her she worked to help me heal from a recent case of whiplash. She brought a high level of knowledge and understanding to my needs associated with recovery from that sort of injury. Five stars are not enough!

Quaint yoga studio in a picturesque setting. You feel as if you're in nature with the deer munching on their breakfast outside the windows, along with sound of birds singing, while in the comfort of a studio. The perfect place to tune into the meditative and spiritual aspects of yoga.
