I was so nervous the first time I walked into OT-Eastside! Haven’t exercised in a group setting since before Covid, I felt
Intimidated by it all. The staff at OT-Eastside quickly put my nerves at ease and jumping into my first class wasn’t as scary as I thought! From the desk staff to the coaches- it’s a a great experience! This is an all-over body workout! I’m encouraged to push myself and not pointed out if I cannot do exactly what the workout for the day is. The other members are encouraging, everyone is there to make themselves better- it’s a positive environment. After a few months- I can tell a difference in my strength and my endurance. This is for all age groups! Totally worth it!

1) They charge your credit card without your permission, 2) They make promises they don't keep, 3) they ghost their customers when they call to ask them to fix their own mistakes. Other than that, they're great.

I’ve been attending Orange Theory Bloomington - Eastside for a few months, and I’ve never felt better! The studio itself is always well-organized, which makes each visit super welcoming. The coaches are encouraging, knowledgeable, and really know how to motivate you to push through the workouts. Front desk associates are friendly and are always ready to help with check-ins or class questions. I highly recommend giving College Mall Studio a try!

I joined OTF 5 months ago and have now attended 75+ classes. I was hesitant to start workout out here because as a woman, I don’t need anymore negative messaging about my body in my world. I was nervous that the focus would be like every other workout place I have been to- weight loss and looking a specific way. That could not be further from the truth with OTF. Every age, gender, ethnicity and body shape works out at OTF. And we work HARD. I have never been body shamed. My focus is strength and I feel so much stronger in only 5 months. The biggest surprise is the community aspect. The staff here is amazing. The coaches are SO good at their jobs and help make every workout feel like a victory regardless of your fitness level. They also find fun ways to bring clients together. We cheer for each other and get to know each other over time. It’s a really special place and I am so grateful that my neighbor asked me to go with her. It truly has improved my life.

I love OTF in Bloomington-Eastside! I joined the studio in July and I feel so much stronger and am amazed at how much progress I have made in just a few short months. The workouts are challenging and effective and I feel pushed to do my best each time I go. As someone who loves having a set time to go to the gym, I really appreciate the structure and guidance from the coaches. Speaking of the coaches, they are THE BEST! They are awesome at helping me stay motivated and inspire me to reach my goals. The coaches, staff, and members have all made me feel like part of the OTF family since day one, and now, 33 classes in, I’m still loving it! The OTF staff are amazing people--they are so kind, do a fantastic job of keeping the studio clean, and I know they always have my back if I need help. If you’re looking for a gym that combines great facilities, amazing coaches, and a welcoming community, this is the place! 11/10 would recommend!!

I love this gym, I’ve been a member since 2019 with a gap year during pandemic. I love the training, the coaches, the equipment, the people around. It’s so motivating to come and exercise and give your best. Lots of schedule options for everyone and I have fun with benchmarks and extra activities

I have been a member of the Bloomington Orange Theory- eastside for >4 years. I workout 4-6 times a week. Everyday is different! It is invigorating, positive and addicting.
I have met new friends and have tried new athletic workouts. I always leave with a smile on my face because I did my best every time I show up as the coaches help to keep me motivated and accountable.
They listen to their members and adapt schedules as needed. They genuinely care for and about us.
During the pandemic they even had classes at 4 am so members could get in when class sizes were limited. As a bedside nurse working 12 hour shifts 3x a week during covid this helped my sanity and kept my workout routine in place.
Connections are so important in life! Our coaches do that everyday with us. It helps make are life more meaningful. It proves that we can do hard things and get more life! So happy I found Orange Theory, their owners and coaches and sales associates are amazing! Karen P.T.

Going on 7 years as a member and you would think at some point you might grow bored of a class format workout, but every day is different.
Here’s the things you’ll love about the 2 OrangeTheory locations in Bloomington:
The owners: great people and very active with gym.
Studio Manager and staff: Sara and her staff are always friendly, helpful, and professional.
Head coach Jean and her coaching staff: Energetic, encouraging, fun, and quick to help with exercises.
Finally the OTF community, even if you’re not a socially engaging person, you’ll find yourself drawn into the OTF family.
It’s an amazing experience and it’s FREE to try!!!

I love this Orange Theory. I got the class pack so I don’t have to stress about getting a certain number of workouts in each month. These classes are really helpful as cross training while I am training for a half marathon. I have never burned more calories in any other fitness classes. I especially like Jordan’s classes! He is motivating without being aggressive.

I can't say enough good things about OTF Bloomington. When I moved here I had 3 boxing gyms in mind to try (working out is a major part of my mental self-care routine, and I used to teach at a boxing franchise). When I got here, I learned that one had closed, and the other two just weren't good fits. I was devastated. I thought I'd lost one of the most important pillars of my sanity!
Then, a friend recommended OTF. I'd seen them all over the country and always thought, "Eh, it's not tough enough for me." Still, honestly... I was desperate.
IT IS. ABSOLUTELY. TOUGH ENOUGH. But in the best way.
You push yourself while being surrounded by positive energy and others who are working just as hard as you are. The coaches are incredible: every workout is different, there are 3 groups of people all of whom are doing different things, but the coaches are able to keep track of all that. At the same time they're positive, energetic, and even do tech support in a pinch when your treadmill's software freaks out and has to be rebooted!
In addition, the Bloomington folks put a lot of energy into intentional community, and folks, that ish is NOT easy. Coach Jean has a gift for leading by example, and the OTF events are genuinely fun.
It's not cheap... but after visiting 5 others, as a genuine gym rat, I can tell you...
It's worth it. GO.

I cannot say enough positive things about the wonderful coaching staff, studio assistants, owners, and community members that make up Orangetheory Fitness in Bloomington!
I started two years ago as someone who had never exercised regularly, and now I go 4-5 days a week! I'm in the strongest, fittest shape of my life, but still motivated to see what more my body can do! Regardless of skill/fitness level, you're guaranteed to get a good workout. The Bloomington OTF community is one of my favorite things to be a part of, and the best thing I ever said "Yes!" to trying!

Orangetheory Fitness Bloomington Eastside is amazing! The coaches truly are personal trainers and have helped push me to limits I did not know I could reach. OTF is so much different than typical group exercise facilities in this way. The coaches correct your form, tell you when to increase weights, tell you when to increase/decrease your base speeds on the treadmill etc. and they do it all while watching how your heart rate responds to the workouts. They do not hold back and I love that about this place. I have only been a member for about a month and I have already seen a huge difference in my physical and mental health. I feel stronger, more confident, and am genuinely much happier. If you are considering joining a gym this is the way to go. The workout is based on bio feedback from your heart rate and is proved by science to be effective for members.

I enjoy the classes and coaches here, but warn you when it comes to “money” are very inflexible. One example is they pushed me to sign up my husband before he tries a free class and they charged him for a month because he decided not to go after his first class. Another example is after 3 months being a member I called for the first time not to cancel a class, just to change it to another time and they said they will still charge the $12 late cancel fee. This is while when you are signing up they tell you otherwise and how they are very flexible!!! Disappointed.
Update 4 days later: They refunded my husband’s membership dues that he never used. So I guess you just have to go talk to them about confusions or it might just be a simple mistake sometimes.

I really enjoyed the coach’s engagement throughout the class. At one point when I was struggling and I didn’t think I could maintain my pace, Jean reminded us that your body can handle the workout you just have to get your mind to believe it. She couldn’t have picked a better time to make that statement! So, I told myself “you can do this” and I kicked it in gear.

The workouts are great, and I’m looking forward to continuing my adventure. I’m 66 years old, I found the Cardio exercise met my expectations using the heart monitor as a guide. A great scientific approach to exercising. What was a surprise to me is how I need to increase my flexibility and balance. The strength training/stretching portion of the program is going to be very beneficial in that area… The coaches are active, engaging and monitoring your exercise, while maintaining a tempo that everyone seems to enjoy. I’m new to this type of experience, but I think it’s well thought out and will be very beneficial to my overall health..

Love, love, love! They’ve got their workouts down to a science. Even though you’re using the same equipment every day (rower, treadmill, and free weights/TRX bands) every day’s workout is different. The coaches do an amazing job of motivating you and encouraging you to improve your form/pace/free-weight choice etc. They’re also great at providing alternatives for any exercises that can’t be done due to mobility issues or injuries. I went in thinking I’d hate the treadmill portion but it’s become my favorite! You can literally see the changes in your body and energy levels month by month and I feel so much healthier and stronger. They also have regular challenges that keep things interesting and add some fun or competition to your routine. I’d highly recommend!

Plus there’s no replacement for gaining endurance, losing weight and building muscles! The current studio manager, Sara is amazing! She is trying to help with a resolution regarding the issue I am having with the monthly membership. I have always had unlimited classes and the founding member rate since 2017. I had a medical issue and had to stop working out for a while. The former manager informed me when I came back I would still have my founding member rate. This was not the case and if I want the unlimited classes, I have to pay $169 per month. This is so frustrating and upsetting. Coach Sara is trying to find a solution and has been so kind and caring through this process.

I have to say I have only one concern or complaint. You CAN start your membership, give them ALL of your personal information, as well as your credit card info over the phone. Convenient, right? Oddly enough, you canNOT cancel your membership the same way. The company requires you to come into the facility in person and sign documents. 🤔🧐 I see what you're doing. So now, rather than take a break for the summer, I will not return. I do not appreciate being manipulated. If that is OK by you... it is a great place. 👍

The orange theory workout is a bootcamp style workout — best to go maybe 2-4 times a week. The monitor you wear (mine attaches to my watch) helps you know if you’re working in a healthy range, and the coaches are well trained. The workout is roughly a third running, a third rowing and a third weights, and depending on the day the focus switches such that it ends up being whole body and highly aerobic overall.

I’m not even sure where to start, I love it all. Whoever said Disney is the happiest place on earth hasn’t ever been to OTF Bloomington. I hate to be dramatic, but it’s life changing. It’s the most efficient workout you’ll ever get to be just overall fit. Classes are like having a personal trainer without the awkwardness of someone staring at you for the entire workout. You have all the support of a team without the competitiveness because it’s always you against you and everyone is encouraging. The results are AMAZING! Coaches and staff are so supportive and just really go above and beyond in any way they can. They’re always thinking up new ways to keep us excited and engaged with challenges, rewards, games and milestones. The pep talks are next level. I can not for the life of me understand how they can be so motivating without ever threatening anyone, it’s a gift I’m positive. I honestly can’t say enough about the people and the workouts, it’s a total package of magic. First class is free! Take the class, have a blast, rinse & repeat forever 🖤 More life 💚🧡❤️

I have too many amazing things to say about OTF: The workout itself is challenging and not something I could make myself do at home (I have a background in pilates, barre, and am also a runner), the coaches are supportive, motivating and fun during one of the most intense workouts I've ever done before, and the staff are insanely nice and one of the best customer services experiences I've had before! I like seeing my heart rate, splat points, and calories burned during the workout, it helps me challenge myself and push myself into higher zones, and the stations are hard but in the best way.
They always offer options at each station, so you are never forced to do something too hard and they can work with all types of injuries or "fragility." The verbal motivation the coaches offer during the entire workout helps push you to a workout level you would never know you could do, and while it's incredibly hard and challenging in the moment, as soon as you're done you feel amazing, I was hooked instantly.
They learn your name immediately and greet you at the door as soon as you enter, and right now during covid they are handling safety so well - no one is allowed less than 6 feet apart, the stations are all spaced out accordingly, they have the air filtration system, masks required, and they cut class sizes in half. Love my OTF experience and will recommend to anyone I know! )

Love the coaches, love the environment, love the zone I am in when I come to do work. This gives you more life, more conversations, more sweat, and more opportunities. You want someone to make you laugh, jump in with Coach Jamie. You want someone to give you a "spicy" workout with a side of burpees, definitely see Coach Sara. You want someone to tell you cool cat facts, see Coach Virginia. You want someone to tell you that your body can withstand more than you think see Coach Jean. You want someone to tell you to give yourself that extra .1 and notice, see Coach Maggie. Lastly, you see Coach Kerry because she does not forget a face. This power team of women is what helps me show up on days when I am not sure. Because the hardest part is showing up, they have my back for the rest when I feel like stopping because my mind is getting in the way. Love you all!

To get an awesome workout I recommend. Coaching staff 100% great. Customer service 2 stars which in turn supersedes it all. No flexibility for premier members to be able to adjust their life and schedules due to over extending their memberships and their are waitlists for every class all the time. Policy is to cancel within 8 hours or you are charged a $12 no-show or late cancel fee which is great for accountability to show up. But there is No flexibility around life for members and you have to plan your life around class times you sign up for months in advance due to high waitlist otherwise you chance not getting in a class all while still paying a high membership. If you want to make sure to attend a class, dropping a class the night before not be charge and get on a waitlist you risk guaranteeing to get into class and you end up missing a workout OR you make last minute changes when the next morning they suddenly open up yet you will still get charged to make a change to another class in addition to the $140 you are already paying. I don't recommend if your schedule has some adjustments and changes and you can't stick to a specific time all the time. It's doesn't matter what level of membership you carry there is not Guarantee to get off a waitlist for the time you can take a class. I hadn't noticed this until the past week when I had to make a change.

Wonderful place to excersize and meet ones goals! Loved it but can't afford it right now. Wish they had senior discounts! But if you can do it I think it's the best gym in our neck of the woods!

Orangetheory is the first fitness concept that resonated with me. The ability to track my results and challenge myself based on heart rate and past performance keeps me motivated. I'm the strongest I've ever been, in large part, because of the inspiring coaches at the Bloomington studio. My husband and I have been members for nearly two years, and I can't imagine life without our twice-weekly "date nights."

OTF has changed my life in so many ways. The opportunity, workouts, people, etc. Everyone here goes hard in their own way, and it's great to see everyone pushing their limits in each class. Keep doing your thang otf btown. Keep it orange!

Love the workouts but getting into classes is nearly impossible. Extremely frustrating to not be able to finish hell week because of full classes. Unlimited members should be able to book classes first.

The coaches are not just knowledgeable, but educated! At least one coach has her Master’s degree in a concentration that pertains to exercise. The coaches and staff know me by name, and can remember conversations we’ve had previously to check in and see how things are going. The overall experience feels very personal, because even on the floor I hear my name and I’m being cheered on. I also have orthopedic issues that prevent me from doing certain exercises, and the coaches are right there with modifications so that I can still get in a workout while maintaining safety. I’ve been to several Orange Theory Fitness facilities around the country, but none of them come close to comparing to the Bloomington OTF.

I am from out of town wanting to take a drop in class for $28 at 6am. I signed up for a class the day prior and received a text notifying me that I should arrive 20 mins early. Being new to the Bloomington area and staying at a hotel where their parking ramp gate was not working that morning (unfortunate), I arrive only 14 mins early and was told I could not attend the class because I needed to arrive 30 mins early (which contradicted their text the day before of 20 mins early) to get an introduction. I was told there was nothing they could do and that they required a 30 min (or 20 min, who knows) window to explain to me how to OrangeTheory works. I will not be back or go to (or try and go to) an OrangeTheory workout anywhere again.

It is just the perfect full body workout! It's a great variety of exercises. Always challenging, but in just the way I need. The coaches are lively, motivating and attentive. I'm hooked after only two classes.

I went for the first free session to try it out. I was very impressed by the friendliness of the staff, very professional. I would love to subscribe to a membership there but I had issues with the foot straps on the row machine. The straps just weren’t strong enough to keep my feet from slipping out which was very frustrating because the row machine is 1/3 of the workout. I am also someone with bigger feet than most people so I imagine that has something to do with it but at the same time I’ve used many different row machines before and never had this problem.
So, if you’re going to ask for $150 a month, I’m going to expect quality functioning equipment. Kind of a deal breaker for me.

Love how my workouts are never the same! There is such a sense of accomplishment after a class even if I wasn't too thrilled to walk through the door in the first place. I've met some great people in my classes and love the sense of community our studio has!

I love Orange Theory! This is so much better than anything I’ve ever done. The atmosphere is so welcoming and gets me in the zone. The staff are incredibly friendly, as are the other members. The people here are truly like a family and I definitely feel like part of the family. Thank you Jamie for being an awesome instructor and keeping me on track during my first session.

I loved the push and pull from the program. It was extremely challenging, but the environment was so welcoming and the staff so supportive and encouraging (shout out to Lauren for killing it for my first class in Bloomington, IN! She was AMAZING and I never felt "gymtimidated" or whatever.) I felt pushed so far - not in a bad way but really challenged to find where my line was and push at the edge of it. The guidance, ambience, and tone were fantastic, and I felt SO accomplished afterwards, and totally pumped to face my day!

I have visited over 12 studios between the east and west coast. OTF Bloomington was truly one of the nicest studios I have visited. The studio itself with its equipment and facilities is well-maintained. The staff, from Lyle, the owner to the coaches I met and staff members, to even the members were all extremely nice and friendly. They all made my visit a true pleasure and I cannot wait to visit again!!!

intense, fun, fulfilling, friendly, encouraging, meaningful, impactful, seeing results, not the same thing every time, great coaches, good environment, super early class (5 a.m. - yay!), no high pressure tactics to force me to eat specific things or stick to a diet that I will never be able to sustain.

I can’t say enough good things about OTF. Yes it is expensive, but I promise if you try it you’ll too be hooked. The workouts are ever changing and always push you, the members are amazing (truly become your workout fam), the coaches work just has hard as the members do and it shows. Everyone cares about each other and I feel at home each time I walk in. Give it a shot!!

Took my first class tonight and Anthony was our trainer. Great class, lots of energy, good support, and enjoyed the workout. Anthony did a great job keeping the 3 groups motivated and making sure my daughter and myself were doing all right with our first class. I would highly recommend the classes. I just wish the prices were more reasonable. I already pay $49 a month for the Y and the cheapest package is $59 for 4 classes a month. I wish it was in my budget because it is a great workout!

I've been looking for a gym to join lately, because I've always done workouts at home, such as P90X and Insanity, and would like something different. The energy levels were very high here, great music which makes you want to move, with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The place was clean, and I really liked the heart monitor aspect, it helped significantly with knowing how hard I was pushing myself, and if I could push harder. I felt like I got a great workout, and the instructions were relatively simple to follow once I was in the swing of things. Great mix and variety of exercises. I left feeling very energized and accomplished, ready to tackle the remainder of the day with gusto.
What I didn't like, however, was the price. It costs around $60 for only 4 workouts in a month, I don't recall how much the 8 workout per month package is, and around $160 per month for the unlimited package. I don't know about other people, but I work out 4-5 times a week on average, so I'd have to purchase the unlimited package. 1-2 times a week for such high prices would feel like a waste to me. I can definitely appreciate the logic behind it, you don't appreciate what you don't pay much for, but this is the most expensive workout location I've yet encountered. Sure, there are goal points and heart monitors and scientifically-crafted workouts by big brains, but in the end, you're paying out the wazoo for nothing more than a really good cardio workout which burns a lot of calories. Personally, I don't think it was any more difficult than an Insanity workout, or some of the classes I've tried at the Y, (Which is only $35-45 per month and has a pool). 9Round is the same thing pretty much, although it's only 30 mins long and based around kickboxing, but still, it's all about burning calories.
So, to summarize this here book I've written, I think the price is way too high for me, but it might be exactly what someone with no prior fitness experience needs. If you miss an at-home workout, or even a workout at your reasonably-priced gym, it won't hurt all that much financially, but if you're paying $160 per month, you're probably going to be much more motivated to get your posterior out of bed and go work out. It all comes down to the amount of motivation you require. I'd definitely recommend doing the free trial workout, it was a lot of fun, and will help you make a decision for yourself.

Orange Theory is a workout that truly pushes motivates EVERYONE. As a former athlete, I'm a very competitive guy and feed off the energy that is always there at OTF. It's even more motivating to see people on their journey for weight loss, train for for their first 5k, and the reasons could go on for forever. Most importantly, people leave experiencing something that scientifically works and leaves them feeling accomplished. People tell me it's been years they did something for themself which is super cool. Come sweat it out and join the fam 🙂🍊💪
