Don’t sign Up for planet fitness. It’s been a year after I wanted to cancel my membership. There is no way to block the automated transactions or anything. They are at this point stealing from me. They will not let you remove your bank account info even when I CALLED multiple time previously

Classless act by new manager. She called out the woman I love in front of other patrons & staff because she scanned in with her phone as my Guest as a Black Card Member. I just happened to be about 10 paces behind her as I was opening the app to check in. She was told she couldn't come in by herself and was immediately embarrassed. Also, she has come by herself a couple times when I was ill and scanned in as my guest, no problem. This time, the new manager arrogantly told me she's the new manager and will be enforcing the rules. Totally classless and uncalled for. If this new manager's goal is to humiliate and infuriate paying customers, mission accomplished! We'll be looking for memberships elsewhere, nobody deserves to be treated like that.

The gym itself has improved. Customer service is sadly something that doesn't exist hardly anywhere. As someone who has worked in a gym for years and has a career based in the fitness and wellness world, it is common courtesy to offer water to clients when both water fountains do not work. The high schooler at the front desk who's probably never lifted a weight and had the warmth of a TSA screener informed me I would need to pay for a bottle of water. The gyms I've worked for, and at my business, we offer free water if the water fountains are down. Simple. Saying hello and good bye is also a nice touch.

When I first started going to this Planet Fitness in 2022, it was very clean. That lasted 6 months. Now, it’s just nasty. The bathrooms are rarely clean. Today I went in the bathroom and it was filthy. I told the front desk guy about it and he said oh, they were supposed to clean last night. One time there was a pair of ladies underwear in the corner of a bathroom stall for 3 days. When I’m traveling and go to other Planet Fitness’s they are all very clean. Whoever owns this Planet Fitness needs to sell it. They obviously don’t care.

I came in about a week ago to check out the facility. When I told the girl at the front desk that I was interested in joining, she seemed disinterested and told me I could walk around. I made a special trip to come back in today to join and was told to just sign up on the app. I have belonged to several other gyms and always felt a more personal experience. Clean gym & has everything you need as far as machines and weight’s go. Had issues with the gym opening on time (which is shocking to me) & also not too impressed with some of the people who work at the front desk. Sometimes I will walk in and they will be on their phones and won’t even look up. Not a good look. Those things aside, it’s a typical planet fitness and as long as you are there to grind you should be fine assuming they open up when they say they are supposed to!

I’m from out of town and visited on a Saturday. As others have stated, opening employee was late so I sat with several folks in the parking lot waiting for the place to open. Opened at 7:08 - not too bad. My advice would be to show up 15 min after posted opening hours. Surprised management supports this consistent late opening. Otherwise the gym is nice and clean. On the larger side of the many other PFs I’ve been to.

This place sucks. My husband has tried everything over the past year to cancel his membership. Signed paperwork on site, called the corporate office, contacted our bank…and every month they find a way to charge us. I really enjoy everything about Planet Fitness. The gym is well-equipped with a wide variety of equipment, catering to all workout needs. However, during my week-long visit to this particular location (Fishers IN), I noticed several cycling bikes were marked "Temporarily Out of Order," which seemed unusual. It's definitely something that should be addressed promptly. Additionally, I observed that the floors were consistently dirty throughout the week, and the men's locker room and shower area could benefit from more regular cleaning and maintenance.

Despite these issues, I still enjoy the facility overall, which is why I'm sharing my feedback. I believe with a little attention to these details, it could be an even better experience.

This gym does not open at the time listed on the website. I have shown up at 6:20 twice to a closed gym. I love this gym. The recent renovation added a few new machines. They have no shortage of smith machines now, so you shouldn’t have to worry about waiting on one. The staff is kind and helpful. I’ve been working out here when I’m home for well over a year, and I’ve never had a negative experience with any staff. The gym isn’t usually too crowded, but sometimes it can be a bit challenging to find a decent parking spot.

We love the gym
The lay out is super nice and it's always pristine and clean. The woman desk/attendant is by far the best. Super informative, positive, and gave us the run down of everything (2 weeks after we started going). She was wonderful. Other attendants are hit and miss. Nice but not super attentive like her.
The only draw back is the hours. On the weekends with kids it's hard to get to the gym during the day. I want to go more than a few times a week but just can't make that work with my schedule. I also prefer to go when it's not as busy because I just started my journey of new me.
Unfortunately there are no pf location in my giant city with 24 hours. I hope that changes in the future.

I needed my membership transferred and there was no manager on site for the weekend and then on the following Monday. I was lucky enough to end up getting a young lady named Ari to help me and she put me on hold and figured out how to transfer my memership. I could tell she cared. The other gentleman was "too busy" and wanted me to wait until a manager was in when I knew in my heart that he could have done it himself. Thanks Ari!! I went to this location on night/morning and it was closed. I ended up having to go all the way to the one on Shadeland near the heart hospital. Wasted some time doing so. This is a large gym with lots of equipment.

There are many different cardio and strength training machines that can work every part of the body. While many might prefer free weights, the Smith machines are a good alternative.

The 30-minute area is good for a quick full-body workout.

The stretching area and PF360 machine give you a lot of options.

Black card members have added benefits of hydro massage, massage chairs, tanning, etc.

It could use more than one of machines like the pec fly/rear delt. That is almost always occupied. Also, some popular machines like the hack squat are missing.

The gym is open 24 hours on weekdays (Monday 5AM - Friday 9PM). It would be nice if it was open 24/7 all week, or at least open later than 7PM on weekends.

This location does appear to have a relatively high staff turnover.

I do want to give a shoutout to Anthony (Tony), who works the overnight shift. You can tell that he is very knowledgeable and has a passion for health & fitness. His positive attitude is motivational. He is always helpful, especially when it comes to a relative gym noob like myself.

Considering the price range of $10-$25/month, I would give it 5 stars.

UPDATE (5/20/24) - Not long after I left this review, Anthony quit. The gym is no longer open 24 hours because of staffing issues. The employee turnover is a major issue. I have moved my review to 4 stars for now.

Update (6/28/24) - It's been around 6 weeks and this place is still "temporarily" not 24 hours due to staffing issues.

This is the second 1+ month period it has happened this year.

I am skeptical that it is even going to be open 24 hours again, which is very inconvenient for me and others.

It seems like these "temporary" hours are going to become permanent. If that happens, it feels like bait and switch.

I have moved my review down to 3 stars.

Update (8/10/24)

As I predicted, they are permanently no longer 24 hours.

The flexible hours were a primary reason I signed up. Outside that, the gym is fine.

I have been attending this location, and for whatever reason the Staff does not seems to know If they are a 24 hour gym or not. Some days it’s open at 5 AM and some days it’s open earlier. I enjoy working out here and the equipment is well maintained.

Staffing can be hit and miss but usually very friendly. The bathrooms smell of urine, it goes days before they seem to be cleaned. You will see dried urine on the floors around urinals etc. hand soap is frequently empty.

As of today, they now have two now have two vans of homeless people living the parking lot. So Girls be careful when coming or going. Your safety is the most importance. There has been one living there all summer, a blue van and now a white conversion one too. Mgmt doesn’t seem to care.

Enjoyed our time at this location, but canceling turned out to be a nightmare. I expressed our intent to cancel on 3/30/24 (4 accounts). I was told I had to either send a certified letter or come into the gym personally to cancel. This took some time, as we were on vacation at the time. In the meantime, an annual fee (4/1/24 to 4/1/25) was charged on two of the accounts, the monthly fee for all 4 accounts was charged ($52.99) and as I was in the gym canceling, I was randomly told that one of our accounts had $40 in unpaid monthly dues on it from 2022....weird since all 4 accounts were on autopay. In total, I paid $180 in costs AFTER letting them know I was canceling. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and concede the $40 as well as the $52.99 (I could have made it to the gym before the monthly dues hit). However, the annual fee is very frustrating since we're basically paying it for an entire year of time in which we will not be members of the gym. I reached out to corporate to request a refund of some level. I got an automated email back that said if you're looking for a refund, that can only be issued by the local management. Reaching out to the local management, they just punt back to corporate and say it's corporate who will not allow the refund. They just point to the fine print and tell you you're screwed. It's sad, because we'd probably consider coming back at some point, but not likely now.

Free weights are necessary in every gym all over the globe. The thing that planet fitness lacks. There are no barbells and the dumbbells have limited weights which is 60lbs. I hope you improve those things.

Love this gym! However, I will say it’s frustrating that one employee in particular closes the black card spa super early quite often. A couple of weeks ago, I went up to check in at the kiosk and the sign said black card spa closed. The other employee working that night said “no that’s incorrect” and removed the sign. So it’s looking like the one employee is trying to close everything up early and chill out behind the counter. As a black card member with a busy schedule, evening as the only time I can go. Its happened 3 times now where the spa is closed 30 min- a full hour early. If the black card spa isn't operating under normal business hours, please include the actual hours in the membership agreement or post a sign. I would like to utilize the perks I paid extra for! Like I said, I do love this gym! Always clean and well kept. The black card spa issue is just something they could improve on.

I'm a but confused by the signage on the door. Claims this is a 24/hr access gym?! Yeah- Nope. Yet a handmade sign on the interior door which is hard to see when all the lights are turned off at 10:15 pm and doors locked seem to contradict corporate advertising. Why not take those signs down and register and post the actual hrs? Seems a bit shady, or lazy updates by management. I actually wanted to work out late as my schedule doesn't permit regular hours. This location has struggled to get staff and the cleanliness of the facility has struggled even though I know that there are 1 or 2 employees who work hard to keep it clean. Beware of the claim that you can cancel at anytime. Per my membership agreement, I sent a letter to the club on July 26 requesting immediate cancellation. Club claims they didn't process request until Aug. 13 (membership agreement requires cancellation by 10th of month to avoid monthly charge). Lesson learned: Don't give these guys access to your bank account.

This location is large so that's good. It's relatively kept clean, good. But equipment is CONTSTANLY broken. And when something breaks, which is always, don't expect it will he fixed within many any months time. And the se equipment breaks over and over. They apparently don't believe in replacing anything that can't be fixed. Theor excuse is "corporate ". You'd think a franchise owner or manager would care to offer customers working equipment. They don't. Presently there's more equipment broken than I've ever seen. Just expect this as a norm.

It's great for the price. They do have what you need to get fit. If you are willing to do the research on dieting, exercising and weight lifting yourself then this place will work for you. I wish they had more equipment and more state of the art equipment but you can do what you need to do with what they have. The price factor is why I go to planet fitness.

"Teens work out for free" is the worst idea from a gym ever. What it gets the members that actually pay to workout is a bunch of kids that aren't aware of gym etiquette, that leave weights on equipment, that try taking weights off of equipment that someone else is using and best of all...that take up time with equipment and weights while they look at or talk on their phones or while they socialize with their other free work out friends. This occurs while paying members have to wait and put up with the inconsideration that comes with teens working out for free.
