The locker room often has trash laying around and smells like weed. I found dirty underwear in a locker more than once. Who does that??? If you move and need to cancel, they require you to travel to the gym in person to sign something. They claim you can send a letter in the mail, but good luck with that. They threaten you with tanking your credit score if you quit paying and don't go there to sign. You actually can't quit paying unless you cancel your credit card. Trashy place. Trashy policies.

I wish I could make this a 5-star review. If it weren’t for the ongoing cleanliness issues involving the showers, it would be. I can see that the staff works hard to maintain the facility for the most part. However, the showers need cleaning. In the last four months or so, I’ve reported issues with the showers having grime and lime buildup three times. One of the times I reported this in-person, the worker took the time to look at the issue but then said “it’s not really my job to keep the showers clean.” Most recently, after submitting online feedback, the club manager responded to my message. However, it still appears nothing has been done to remedy the issue. I thought for sure after at least a week since the manager told me he would mention the issue to staff that someone would have managed to clean the shower, but this wasn’t the case. I visited again, 10 days later to see the issue persisted.

The shower handles (where there is a large buildup of lime on the bottoms), grime on the shower shelves, and the parts of the shower walls where you can see yellow buildup in the grout all need cleaned.

Terrible that you all do not do the sliver sneakers program. Strange that other locations of planet fitness do the sliver sneakers programs but La Porte location doesn’t. Very disappointing

To the owner. I had intended to visit if the location in La Porte Indiana had taken the sliver sneakers program. I won’t be visiting in there in the future and won’t be able to leave any feedback with there manager. I get that it’s independently owned

Too many people using the 30 minute routine area to sit on their phones and our set back and talk. Completely breaks the purpose of that area. No one monitors to ensure everything is flowing, but 4 people (employees) can stand at the front desk and hang out...

Update 2/21/25: Place has really gone down hill, constant stream of people seeing on their phones back there. They might as well serve food and drinks because no one can run the circuit, but it’s ok all the employees are having a good ol’ time talking to their friends and hanging out at the front desk. I also saw a guy on the treadmill the other day in cowboy boots… Seems like that isn’t a good idea, but I thought there was a dress code.🤷

I have been going to PF for years and you just lost 2 members because your staff lied! I should have canceled when they stopped being 24/7 that was a huge inconvenience! Such a waste of money!! Nice facility, friendly staff. One concern i have is the maintenance on the equipment. Throughout my workout I have found that almost every machine, bench, etc has loose bolts. I'm concerned this could poise a danger if not properly maintained. It would be nice if the staff periodically checked/tightened them.

Honestly I hate working out... But with my high BP and getting older I decided to try and take care of myself. I was nervous about joining but the process was really easy. The staff is always friendly, cleaning, and helping people. I never feel crowded here. They are always refilling the stations and cleaning and wiping machines. Which I appreciate because I watch A LOT of people walk away from machines and not wipe them!
I went to MC and I will never go back to that location again. This place is so much brighter with the lights, staff is so friendly, I've never felt judged or had any issues. I really recommend this gym.

Make sure if you want to do any tanning to bring goggles. They will not let you use it without eye protection.

The only thing I wish they had was a full spectrum infrared booth with vibrational plate. I was told mc had it and they do not. But that's not much to gripe about. Just wish they offered it since I'm allergic to sunlight with PMLE and UV light can exacerbate it.

Planet fitness getting more and more disappointing coming here. First you advertise as a 24 hour gym. Then you stop being a 24 hour gym. Now you r required to wait 24 hours to the minute in order to tan because everyone works out at the same exact time they did the day before! I am at home there. From the first day I walked in I have been welcomed and enjoy every aspect of the facility. I can't say enough about the staff. I have become friends with some of them. My sessions with Felisha are amazing. She truly cares about the people she works with. Love this location for the most part. Clean, friendly staff. However, I did recently have a not so great experience. The other day my friend and I went on our lunch to tan. The young lady working was super nice and helpful. I asked for 7mins in the bed she set the timer and I went back. At 12:10 I climb onto the bed for my time, after awhile I’m like man this is a long 7mins I could feel like legs burning so I open the bed and get up my phone said it was now 12:20, the timer on the bed was at 10 mins and counting. I had to turn the bed off myself. I am so burnt because of those extra minutes that I have barely been able to move since that day. I am thankful I haven’t blistered. I really hope this kind of thing doesn’t happen often and I hope the people working are more conscious about the times they are setting the beds for. If I had a didn’t get up when I did this could have been worse and this is already really bad.

Average for a Planet Fitness. Most the people here atleast the males appear that they probably have a better gym equipment somewhere else and just come here to strut and it comes off as a place lurkers and lunks. Half the time people play on there phones with the weights on the floor on front of them and most don't return the weights where tjey go 🤷‍♂️. The staff is ok and seem pretty relaxed and should talk to people about cleaning their machines when they're done but that's not my place.

I love the Laporte location. They have been so helpful I started out at the portage location. Had been trying for 90 days to transfer to the LaPorte one. I tried to go to portage to get him to transfer it but I finally hit the 90 days so Laporte could transfer it. They're so friendly there!
