The gym itself is comparable to most PF’s. As far as equipment goes and atmosphere I’d say 4-5 stars. The cleanliness of this PF is however awful. You can’t pee at a urinal without standing in dry pee, the sink area looks like it’s never seen a rag. My final straw was when I need to use the stall and had to clean poop off the floor, mind you I saw this in there the day before as well. The Elkhart PF has taken quite a bit of pride in cleaning all areas of this gym. This Mishawaka location on the other hand has not.

Edit: I am here once again to remove a star and to add another picture. This toilet has had the same poop splash on it for the last 4 days. I have “notified” the front desk, even though that to me is disgusting that they don’t clean it at least daily. The shower room if cleaned once per week is a miracle as well. It sucks that such a decent gym is so gross

This place is a joy to visit, the staff are always friendly and there is plenty of equipment available for your workouts. I would just suggest checking the app to see traffic before visiting as there can be high-volume times and you may not be able to access certain machines that are popular during crowded times of the day

I understand that holiday hours may require early closure, but turning off all lights—including those in the restrooms—right at closing time created an abrupt and uncomfortable experience for customers who were still using the facility on September 1st. Several patrons were present when the lights were shut off, and the staff’s attitude during this time felt dismissive and unwelcoming. I'm canceling my membership today.And the reason why is because of how rude the manager shay was when I told her how humiliating it was for me to have to walk out if the tanning bed to tell them to reset the naive after stripping down And coating myself with tanning lotion multiple times. Her solution was nothing, she said, it's not my problem. And didn't care one bit that this problem continues to happen to guests.She says there's nothing wrong with their tanning.Beds. and didn't care how humiliated I felt to have to tell her to press the reset button behind the counter. They should be checking that. No one should have to walk out of a tanning bed after putting on their lotion to go.Tell somebody to hit a button behind a counter. That's bad employees, bad management and really rude.Inconsiderate attitudes. I will never exercise here again

I love my Planet Fitness Membership!! I am able to choose from a plethora of machines. If I am unsure of how to use a machine, there are literally QR Codes ON the machines that take you to a video on how to use it!! How easy is that?? Of course, if I'd rather, I can always ask one of the super helpful staff to show me as well.
Also, I have the Black Card Membership which includes the Massage Chairs, Hydrobeds, Light Therapy AND Tanning, ALL FREE!!! After a good workout, I reward myself with ALL of that pampering!!!
Also, with a Black Card Membership, I can bring a guest FOR FREE with EVERY visit!! Like, who would'nt wanna bring thir bestie, right?? The Black Card Membership is only $25 per month & a regular membership is jut $15 per month!!!!
There are drinks, protien bars, gym bags and different tanning lotions, amongst other great things that can be purchased as well. Planet Fitness is my one stop shop to having my Me Time!!! I advise everyone to get a Membership at Planet Fitness!!!

say nothing about annual feed when signing up then slam you with a $50 dollar bill outa nowhere for a super low quality gym compared to anything else no free benches, squat or deadlifts, always over crowded. You’re lucky if you don’t have to wait for something to open up chest and arm day is basically impossible with the amount of people that crowd the 4 smith benches, and stand in-front of the only free weight mirror. Way nicer gyms for 20 a month well that 20x12 so $240 dollars total for a nice gym and 15x12=180+50=$230 so your paying $10 dollars less on the year to have way less and lower quality machines more people crowding machines, and front desk workers who couldn’t even give you a tip about working out because most of them have never lifted a weight their whole lives.

Place has gone downhill here are a few issues that still haven't been fixed:

1. They only have 1 door accessible in the two entryway. It's either because the doors haven't been fixed or because they had a pipe burst from cold weather (and maybe worried about it happening again?) and it's technically a fire hazard and I doubt it's wheelchair accessible.

2. They redid the showers horribly. The changing rooms are no longer connected to the showers. No place to put your stuff. And the shower heads spray outward to the exteme. Like everywhere except on you in the middle of the shower (its sprays on the walls, curtains etc). Shower curtains sometimes have mold on them.

3. No one uses a lock on their lockers. I open a presumably empty locker and it's filled with someone's stuff. I guess it's good to think no one is going to steal your stuff, but personally I dont understand why people have that much faith in a public gym.

Had a problem at the gym the last two days and instead of somebody being polite and trying to understand and help me fix the problem I got yelled at by one lady that worked there The manager proceeded to do nothing other than sit there and act like it was okay and that is just totally not okay We go to the gym to be treated with respect and polite meaning if there is a problem and in someone is upset you should understand why they're upset and communicate with them and try to fix the problem not trying to fix the problem is a problem especially because you should care about your customers it's so sad I've been with this gym for 3 years and had to cancel my membership because of the way I was treated the last two days at the Mishawaka and Elkhart location So sad that you would let a customer of 3 years canceled their membership instead of fixing the problem this is how you guys run a business so disgusting

All of my bills were caught up on my account and the guy canceled my member ship and forged my signature without my authorization after he told me I couldn’t workout. I found this out after I came in at a later time to go ahead and cancel the membership completely after being mistreated. Was denied access to the facilities when I've never missed a payment in the 2+ years I've been a member. They want a secondary form of payment.... They automatically withdraw my dues every month and won't let me work out.

Update: this location is no longer 24/7 and will have limited hours Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun even though we all paid for a membership to 24/7 access to a gym. They also have a water fountain that is leaking onto the electrical outlet that is still plugged in and people are still using it. Hopefully no one gets electrocuted.

Update 7/13/24: supposed to open at 6am, someone didn't show up until after 7am. Renovations are supposed to start tomorrow and this location will be closed for a month or longer. I guess that means they don't feel it's necessary to clean .

Update 1/24/2025: this location is closed until further notice because their roof caved in and there's water everywhere. Would have been nice of them to post on the socials or here on Google so their customers would not waste their time.

This is a very clean, comfortable environment. The staff is amazing and very helpful. They are always refilling stations, and wiping down machines. The bathrooms are clean and they have equipment I noticed a couple other gyms don't. The only issue I have is there's not enough smith machines for such a big location! It's such a challenging thing to get a hold of no matter the time of day! It's very rare I can ever get one at this location. This is probably my only and main complaint. Otherwise, I really enjoy everything at this location.

Consistently have arrived on Saturday mornings between 7-8am to find that the building is locked. This happens at least once a month. No signs, no notices, lights are on but no one is inside and the doors are locked. They are also no longer 24 hrs. Very frustrating. Suggest you look elsewhere.

Me and several other members have been waiting here for over 45 mins! If you can’t have employees show up to work to have your gym 24/7 then change your hours of operation or your advertising. I drive 20 mins away to workout here. Other than this it’s a great gym. But for the love of God have a back up plan if your employee can’t be here to take over a shift!

We cancelled our membership in 2017 with handwritten letters as requested. When attempting to start a new membership in 2024 Planet Fitness told us we reach owe hundreds in past due fees and we'd have to pay those to join again. What a scam...

Resolution took online review, corporate phone call and stopping at the location 3x; first an employee, 2nd visit an assistant manager, 3rd visit the general manager the issue was resolved, to which I'm glad. BUT, having to call, go online and talk to 3 people to get this resolved was still a bit frustrating considering I left my maybe and number the first visit.

This location used to be the best one in the area by a mile, before the pointless renovations. The actual gym part did not change in any appreciable way and is still decent, only some new paint/wallpaper and adding a wall of mirrors. The biggest crime of this so-called renovation is a significant downgrade to the locker room, mainly the showers. The lockers themselves were mainly just moved, leaving unnecessary empty space where there were additional lockers before, but otherwise no improvement.

The showers are a different story, and are a master class in demonstrating complete apathy for the experience of patrons.
1. Instead of the 6 sizable showers with their own changing areas that there were before (as well as an already existing dedicated changing room), there are now three showers with no real room to change except for the handicap stall and a few seldom-used changing stalls across the hallway. They essentially took three showers that could already function as changing rooms, and removed half the use of them.
2. The shower head is prison-esque, with no ability to position the head or change the stream. It is angled in such a way to cover almost the entirety of the now tiny space that if you don't want the soap immediately washed off while showering, you either have to completely shut the shower off or get intimately acquainted with the wall tiles right under the showerhead.
3. The previous room to change and put your stuff while showering was one thing that really set this location above the rest in terms of facilities, and they decided that that was too good to continue, I guess. The five hooks inside each shower to keep your towel and clothes to change into off the floor has been reduced to a single hook outside the shower, where anyone could mess with your stuff if they so desired.
4. The floor tiles are now an actual safety hazard. The previous design had tiling that even while wet, provided enough traction to easily walk back to your locker without any risk. Now, they have opted for the same ones as the other locations that immediately have the same friction as a Teflon pan once wet. I showered just this evening, and slipped on my first step out of the shower. Their solution to this is a wet floor sign for a shower area that will always be wet. There are several elderly people that work out at this gym, and the gym has made it more likely for them to experience serious injury.

This renovation barely changed anything about the main purpose of this business, and drastically downgraded the amenities that aside for the larger size by necessity, were the only thing setting the McKinley location above the rest. Rather than real improvement, the only thing these renovations accomplished was showcasing the inexperience with functional design and poor decision-making of the person or persons who thought this was a good idea.

Whoever redesigned the lockerooms/bathrooms clearly has never used an actual Planet Fitness. Or decided to chose aesthetics over functionality.

1. They did improve the shower head pressure finally. However there are less showers now and less space. There is not enough room to put your shower items, glasses, etc. No more chairs. 😔 instead they opted for 1 coat hanger per shower that isn't even in the shower areas, so if someone wanted to steal your clothes, or towels while your showering they could. They also shrunk the shower areas for more wasted hallway space.
2. They made a bunch of changing rooms that honestly are a waste of space. I only see one, maybe two being used at one time. Idk who thought we needed 6 empty rooms vs more showers. Or why didn't they connect the changing rooms to the showers?
3. They did improve the lockers that no longer bang. But instead of adding maybe a privacy wall to divide the room (which would actually add more lockers) they decided to just leave a huge empty space in the middle of the room. What is the point of the large space in the middle of the room for? There is also a blank wall that's more additional waste of space, when they could of widened the entrances of the locker rooms some so people aren't accidentally running into each other going in and out.
4. None of the equipment is moved around or changed much, which is fine. There wasn't many issues with it previously. They did mainly small changes to the walls/wallpaper, updated lighting to be brighter everywhere.

I was hoping to get just a one month membership, but they slipped in a non-refundable $49 annual fee on top of my monthly fee that they didn’t tell me about. By the time the annual fee kicked in the gym was closed for construction and I wasn’t using it. It felt like a bit of a scam.

I like that I can access the different equipments and don’t really care who is looking at me. The associates there are kind and helpful. However, It also depends on who you are too. If you bring in a bad attitude you will get that in return from anybody or anywhere. I bring with me a good attitude. I’m not perfect, nobody is. I’m there at planet fitness to exercise for me, so I can at least eat right and live a much longer life!

Nice location but the problem with this location is the shower Heads and curtains need updated they are the same ones from 3 yrs ago and the shower heads are horrible with corrosion water does not even come out right, do you even clean them? and if not you should be automatically updating them every so often,You definitely need to take care of that how healthy is it for your customers!!!
Update: shower handle is falling off couldn't even get it to turn to warmer water just kept spinning around,lights out in the handicap shower also the shower head is not working properly! Not enough chairs or hooks for your belongings! This is a busy location and your customers should not have to deal with jail like conditions!! I love how I can go and truly feel no judgment. I also love that it's 24/7 and not very far from my house. I work out to work through everyday stress and anger. I also love that the people there are very kind and almost feel like friends when you walk in the door.

Love my Mishawaka PF--I just want to recognize 2 of the best front desk employees--Toni and Donovan !! They rock. Whenever I need something, or have a question, they are there with a quick answer, solution AND a smiling face. First impressions are key--having them there to greet members is something that I feel is very beneficial.

I also want to give a review for Toni. She keeps the club clean and cares about the women's locker room. I understand she may leave for the SB location (more pay). It would be a loss to see her go!

This location has only 4 stair masters which is extremely inconvenient given the amount of traffic this place gets. Especially when only 2 of the 4 are in working order, there is always a wait time which is a big pet peeve. I've used this gym for over 2 years and this has always been an issue, oddly enough considering other locations like Elkhart have more than double the amount of these machines and they're all in working order. This place is unfortunately an exception, and no one seems to care.

Response : This has been brought to staff attention all year, obviously we have mentioned it. They are placed with an out of order sign and are back running for a little while before they eventually break down again. It's not our job to police your staff about machines that need serviced. They know they need replaced.

I approached some employees at the gym about me being harassed and I was told by all the employees to fight them. Then if that wasn’t bad enough I had other guests at the gym that knew the employees try to jump me. This gym is a joke. All I was trying to do was get better service and treat meant and left with 10 guys teaming up threatening me and almost jumped. How is an employee going to tell a customer to fight him how unprofessional. If they don’t get rid of all those employees and the customers that teamed up trying to jump me. I will be suing this location. They currently have lawsuits pending against them for discrimination and harassment. And they are about to have anyone. This place sounds like a prison to me.

Haven't been to this location actually paid for the location on accident, was a one star due to some issues derived from my misunderstanding but also of annual pricing which far outways the cost of paying for the monthly including the one time aural of 45.

The marketing department of the corp should really consider utilizing a practice that most other business's utilize and make sure that the consumer should save more money by committing to a year as apose to doing monthly.

Regardless the issue was resolved for my situation I'm satisfied with the conclusion of the ordeal and looking forward to continuing my relationship with planet fitness as a loyal consumer of ours services to improve my health and longevity.

The showers are really consistently dirty. And per my son, who occasionally uses them, they are never clean in the men’s room either. It’s disgusting. Hair and trash permeate almost every shower stall. Avoid the showers there if you have to go somewhere, after you workout. It’s really disappointing tbh.

I want to give a shout out to Kelly at the Mishawaka, IN Planet Fitness location. She is meticulous in keeping all the apparatus clean and she is constantly working on this. She is a good customer service rep for this location. She always stops by my treadmill to say hello. She is definitely an asset. I also want to commend Donovan for keeping the facility clean and ready for use by the membership. My husband says he is very conscientious about keeping the men's locker room neat and free of trash. He is very approachable when we have any questions. He is also an asset to this location.
