The morning staff really needs to learn how to multitask. You should be able to talk on the phone and check someone in at the same time with a without having the customer wait early in the morning people have places to go. They’re trying to get to work and this person had no concept of anyone else’s time other than her own. I will never go back in the morning. Hopefully they get this straightened out.

The Plainfield Planet Fitness is a great option for access to exercise equipment on a budget. Good mix of cardio, resistance machines, and free weights. It is often a little busy, but usually at the expected evening timeframes. I have visited some of the other PF clubs in the area, and this one is probably the best option. Bright, clean, and the air is never stale(unlike many gyms).
Not the best option if you are seriously into weight lifting, but serviceable for general use

I feel so uncomfortable coming back here. I have NEVER felt so unwelcome and policed in any facility before. Been a customer for 2 years, travel a lot and have used many different PF locations across the country. I had even come to this location before and had no issues, but earlier today I had come in, scanned my code and was asked to take a photo. I declined and was told it was policy—something felt fishy, I’ve NEVER had to do that before (I’d been there earlier that day too, and not even TSA has that policy) and said so. He said he is the regional manager and they can’t let just anyone in the facility and he had to see ID. (Again, I had opened the app on my personal phone and scanned the code just like I and everyone else had done)

I had to go out to my car, get my ID, show it to him and took down my mask (I always, always wear a mask). I asked ok? He nodded and I started walking away and he said, oh wait I’m not done with you yet, I need to know your birthday, I told him it’s on my ID. And he looked finally let me go inside. If I hadn’t been a customer for so long and had so many other experiences, I would take my business elsewhere. If it ever happens again, I will absolutely consider ending my membership.

In addition, I have never left a review for PF before even when they’ve been unclean or no one at the desk, but this just really left a bad taste in my mouth. Can’t remember the name of the guy, but he was working at 11a-12pm EST on 10/13 and has blondish hair blue eyes and a fake tan, said he was a regional manager. Very snarky, on some kind of authority trip and unapologetic, if that helps identify him.

It's a pretty good Planet Fitness location. More than than enough cardio machines are always available, but would be benefit from the addition of more of the newer generation of weight machines that I've used in other Planet Fitness locations. We really enjoy Planet Fitness for working out. It's Knights of our locations all over that if we are out of town we can visit and still work out. They are very similar so you can usually get the same machines and same workouts. The only complaint is people that sit on the machine on their phone instead of moving so other people can work out. We work out regularly using both the free weights and machines.

Bryce the manager a year ago was actually great. Since then the gym has gone down hill. I was a planet fitness member for over 3 years and swapped to a different gym because of the location. The staff is unwelcoming, multiple don’t say bye or hi and are just on their phones. Paper towels and bathrooms only get cleaned or restocked when you tell staff the issues. When I come on a guest pass to help my mom workout, the staff rolls their eyes, interrogates me and doesn’t believe me when I tell them my mom’s in the bathroom.
Overall very poor customer service. If you can spend 10 bucks more a month just got to a gym that actually has free weights and a friendly staff.

I have been a customer for years with a black card membership but today this branch told me that I can’t use with out a picture of me which I haven’t ever heard or asked before while I was using in a different states they didn’t even respect me as a member or even told me to contact my hub for further information as a respectful customer he communicated like I’m not even existed or needed and I told him if that’s the case then I’ll cancel the membership and look for a different gym which respects and values their customers thank you for letting me know that planet fitness don’t need a customers any more

This rating is for the Plainfield, IN location only. This location is not my home gym, but it is conveniently located for my wife and I to workout together because of a busy work schedule. Today, a worker approached her and told her she'd have to leave or not have her gym bag with her. This was after he walked past myself and several other gym members that had bags out. When we asked the manager about the interaction he stated that they are enforcing a policy set by the franchisee. We were told our was because there could be weapons in our bags. This is the only club that we've had this said said to us in the two years we've been using Planet Fitness.

I have a membership there since April 2025. I came in on a Monday , scanned my phone app in the scanner, to track I was there and was quickly called back to the desk. Rob proceeded to ask my name and was looking my name up in computer for him to tell me I did not have an active membership and would not allow me to workout. I kept trying to show my phone app to him that even had my gym agreement on there and my bank account showing they had taken payment every month out of my checking account. He refused to look at it. I am cancelling my membership as soon as upper management calls me about this. Very unprofessional of him considering he said he is a manger, but did not view my legit validation rhat I do have an active membership there. I have reached out to my attorney for the discrimination I experienced and me not not allowed to workout and not willing to look at my verification. I do not recommend this gym, at all. Also, I called cooperate and they brought my account up right away with my phone number, which Rob Never asked me for.

I’m a new member but not sure I’m going to stay after my experience today. The gym itself was decent. Clean restrooms, not too busy, lots of equipment options. Two stars for that. Front desk staff was rude but what was most concerning was the state of the tanning room I used. It was disgusting. I realize members are supposed to clean the beds themselves. It definitely hadn’t been cleaned before me which I understand isn’t totally on the staff but it was very clear the bed hadn’t been cleaned in SEVERAL uses, possibly days. There was dried lotion caked inside and outside the bed and so many other dirty marks/streaks. It took me several minutes to get the bed clean enough to use. I had to SCRUB because there was so much dried stuff stuck to the bed. Unfortunately people don’t always clean after themselves as they should or possibly don’t know how to do it properly. The gym should still be periodically cleaning these rooms and beds so the oils and dirt doesn’t build up this badly. It’s so unsanitary. The rooms don’t have trash cans so maybe people would be more likely to clean up after themselves if there was a more accessible place to throw away trash.

UPDATE: I emailed them as requested in the response below. 7 days ago - still no response, no contact and no cancelation.

They will not cancel my membership. I went to the club to cancel my membership on February 14th. Out of the 3 people working, no one was competent to get it done. I was told a DM would contact me and they put a freeze on my membership. It's almost MAY and I'm still getting invoiced. I had to put a $35 stop payment on their bank drafts because they won't stop... even during a freeze, they stole money from my account. So, I received communication from the ABC Fitness, requesting payment and threatening collections. I sent the documentation of my efforts to contact the Plainfield location - none of which received a response. I got another email today for payment so now I'm forced to report their illegal actions to the Better Business Bureau and the Secretary of State.

More corporate bs. Go find a good locally owned facility where they actually take pride in their business instead of this corporate giant that operates poorly and threatens collections over $30. What a joke.

It’s a shame because this was such a Exilent facility with a great staff, clean and friendly environment…but i need to work out 5 days a week… not 3… I can’t do that comfortably if it’s not open late on weekends

My mom and I canceled our membership but noticed a charge on our account a few weeks later. When we called to ask if they could resolve the issue and refund our money, they told us it was something we needed to sort out with our credit card company, claiming they had nothing to do with it. This response, of course, didn't make sense, as they were the ones who charged us. We called again the next day with another employee, and they said it was never canceled, which, again, we were confused about because we went into the gym and were told it would be canceled. After two phone calls, they promised a manager would call us to resolve the problem, but we never received that call. Frustrated, we decided to let it go.

I’m leaving a review here to warn others about this situation, as this may happen to you if you cancel your membership!

Jake is the one who tried to help me. He was kind and answered all of my questions. When I did try to come in though to sign up..he said the system is down. That I could go work out. I thought that was kind of him to..he worked the front desk with another young gentleman last Sunday. He even welcomed me back to see if I can talk to the other lady. There's a guy who works here with semi long blonde hair and every time my wife and I walk in to the gym he has SUPER positive vibes and asks if you're having a good day and then proceed to tell you a funny appropriate joke or figure out how he can make sure you walk out at least knowing he was happy to make you smile. 2024.12.09 Update:
Facility is good but customer service is non-existent.
Their phone doesn't connect.
Their website has no help feature.
Their website has no chat feature.

It took me 10 months to close my account and then the following week I was billed anyway.

Most of the reason it took 10 months to close is on me because I personally choose to avoid walking into the gym and continue calling instead. The counter was nice and didin't push back but a week later I was billed anyway....forcing me to physically go back into the gym because they have no other way to communicate.

I logged into my online planet fitness account and there is no way to reach out for help, chat, nor get anyone's attention.

Frustrating, because the physical gym itself has always been clean and functional.

Crap. What was once nice 5 years ago has steadily gone down hill. 6 months to replaces broken towel dispenser and now they don't even keep half of the dispenser with towels...they are empty. Weights don't get put up. Male employees sit or stand doing nothing. Poor management Freon the top down it would seem..or lack of management.

I have had several bad experiences at this club. First off staff is always sitting on counters. If you need help signing in they just lean over the counter. To lazy to get up. On election day I was bombarded as soon as I walked in the door “did you vote” then “who did you vote for”. Made a purchase of tanning lotion & got charged twice. When ask about the overcharge, I was just told the system will reimburse you. The attendant who rang me up accused me of calling her a lier. When I never once insinuated that. Finally got a refund a week later. Just very unprofessional. Can’t tell you anyone’s name who works there. No name tags.

As I have seen reviews surrounding Amanda, I would also like to back up that she is simply just a rude person who doesn’t belong at a “judgement free zone.” I constantly see her flirting with multiple male members of the gym and giving rude looks to younger women who are just trying to be fit and healthy. If I or other women wanted to be judged at a gym, I would have just gone to mei fitness instead. I am entirely disappointed by her and planet fitness’s hiring capabilities as she does not belong in a place with no judgement. As I saw a review saying that Amanda was berating a group of young girls for not putting their weights back, I entirely believe this as true. As a member, I have rarely seen members put their weights back simply as everyone is friendly and wants to help out eachother with their weights, so with that being said, it is easily confusing for new or returning members to “follow the rules” when the rules put in place were not followed to begin with. I am sad to say this, but I will not be returning until action is taken against Amanda because simply, she is an extremely rude and judgmental person who needs to find peace with herself and be more like Candace.

I love going to planet fitness , I’ve been going for years , I normally pay for membership and then this summer I got a summer pass so I could save some money for 2 months and then go back .however last time I went there was this blond girl in a ponytail, I think her name was Amanda who has sought our group out , I did have a group of three so we tried to split up as much as possible , she however told us we could not be around each other at all , we found ourself all at the hip abductions so we decided to do a quick set so others could have it too and then processed to yell at us when we were in the middle of a set and she thought we were done so she wanted us to clean our station which we normally do but we weren’t done . Along with that she berated us for not putting our weights back from our squat rep even though in my 2 years of going I have never seen anyone else do that and when she was yelling at us I actually witnessed someone else leave their weighted and Amanda processed to yell at us and then flirt with the man in which left his weights . Unfortunately I didn’t know I needed to attract to employees in order to be welcomed here .This truely made me sad because I have been going for years for a “judgement free zone” as promoted just to be judged by an employee ! I really wished planet fitness considered who they are hiring because this was just not okay , me and my group decided to cut our workout short because we just didn’t feel like getting picked on and honestly didn’t feel welcome.

This Gym is close to my job place.
I use my lunch breaks for my routine.
Today a woman asked me to leave the machine, I was using
because she said, "her partner needed to use that specific machine and another machine" because of his routine

Well once you sign up and If you have membership issues it will take them years to figure our even what is happening.

Every month I was being charged twice. First few months couldn't notice but when I asked the team they said we will look into and get back to you.
3 months later they gave a third party phone number and said they can let you know.

When I called them they said you are being charged twice for the same membership for two differnt location. I asked well can you cancel and refund my last 6 months payment. They mentioned you have to be on site in person to cancel and you can talk to the site for cancelation and refund.

I did talk to second site in indy and they refused to refund as it was a active memship and said you can escalate to manager.
After sending emails , 1 year later I still have no response from anyone .

More than the gym for exerices I have visited the two locations- one in Plainfield and other in indy for memberhsip issues ..
Don't get in this it's easy to get it but if you face issues no one will be step up to help untill you are frustrated and leave one day .

I've been a member of this gym for 6 years and watch it go down hill every since, I'm amazed tht a owner would not value his members by keeping this gym up to standards you'll spend money on paint but won't keep the equipment up has me puzzled there's several pieces of equipment tht have been broken for a reasonable amount of time to be fixed its so bad I have to go to the Kentucky Ave planet fitness for a gd work out which I will say tht gym is amazing with up keep Please get it together Jerome Hudson

Good place if you like to be recorded from other peoples tripod cameras. Supposed to be no recording but unfortunately the staff does not say anything about it. I have said something on two different occasions to staff. Staff sees these people with tripods setup. Not sure why they dont tell them its not allowed. It should be posted.

Not too crowded in the morning. Plenty of variety when it comes to equipment choices.

It would be nice if their dumbbells went over 75 lbs, but not a deal breaker.

All cardio equipment was refreshed in the last year. The treadmills have a S8 sprint mode thats good for HIIT.

Always dirty. Smelly. Broken equipment and lockers. Poor airflow. Back door left open. Mats are in disrepair. No hand sanitizer. Paper towels are often unstocked for hours on end. I have visited other locations and Plainfield is the worst maintained.

The gym smells like b.o when you walk in and doesn’t appear to be well kept upon entry. The locker rooms were flooded. The front desk employees don’t appear to be trained in anything. I booked a class here and when I asked the front desk where to meet she had no idea you could schedule classes. The manager came out and explained they don’t have a personal trainer because they can’t seem to hire one. Planet fitness chains seem to be okay. The Plainfield one needs serious work.

I'll be honest, I mostly have a planet fitness membership so I can shower while on the road. When I went in, the showers were dirty, was and floor, and the only clean one didn't have a curtain. Because there is no retention lip to contain the water, the floor was wet all the way from the showers into the changing rooms. The water was hot and refreshing, but I was concerned for my foot hygiene, and dared not to put my soap in the cubby.

This is a review of PF Corporate. Why everytime someone has an ongoing issue you refer them to club management. Do you think we as adults have not tried that already. Why would corporate bother to monitor these comments if you can't change anything. BTW GET HOT WATER IN YOUR INDIANAPOLIS GYMS. Also it does not need to be 60 degrees in the lockerroom, this is not Phoenix.

BEWARE!-- There is a sign saying NO TRUCK PARKING but we've seen pictures of trucks parked here so we were going in to see where we could park in order to workout. We were parked in the far end of the lot close to PNC just to get our stuff together and go ask about parking and someone came by and told us that the tow company had been called already after we had only been there for like 10 min ...Sunday 7/30/23. Apparently someone 's truck was towed before we got here while the guy was inside working out. 🥺It's the property management that is calling.

Planet Fitness in Plainfield Indiana. This just just like any other planet fitness out there. They have all the workout equipment, the tanning beds, locker rooms etc. They do have a parking lot and it’s free parking for guest. My visit was on Monday July 10, 2023.

As you get to the planet fitness. You just see a bunch of restaurants and stores around since it’s right next to the outlet mall. As you enter, You are greeted by staff members and you check in with your card or app to enter the gym. The desk is on the left. You have all the weights on your right, cardio is in the middle, abs and stretching area in the back. You have your Locker rooms in the middle of the gym on the left. It’s really easy to navigate through the gym since it’s a little planet fitness and just a complete cycle. You shouldn’t get lost. The locker rooms are very small. Only handful of lockers in the area.

The staff members was good. As soon I walked into the building. They both greeted me and said “Welcome to planet fitness” It kinda shocked me because I am not used to that with other gyms I have been to. I really felt welcome but at the end when I was leaving. They changed the staff members and didn’t say bye or have a nice day. I even took my ear piece out to be respectful, just in case they did say something but looked like they was talking to other people so I just walked on out. (They was checking in, Just hanging out) I guess it depends on the staff on how you are greeted in the gym.

The gym was clean. Clean as any gym can be. The bathrooms was very nice and clean. You can tell that they are really taking care of the gym with cleaning up and making sure it’s not dirty. Very good job!

I felt really safe at this gym. It’s in a very nice area with a outlet mall right next door. When I was inside the gym. Everyone was just working out and doing what they need to do. It’s a safe environment.

I do recommend this planet fitness. I just wished that all staff members would be on the same page by greeting everyone and not just some staff members but what can you do. That’s mostly all businesses out there.

Like previous posts indicate, this PF is dirty and most of the locals are hoarders and rude .
I’ve been traveling for 2 years and been to many PF’s. From the moment I walked in, the employees gave a very negative first impression. The employees cared more about playing with the other employees and their friends than doing their job. In the 2 times there, I did not get a welcome or good bye. Also during those 2 visits, I did not see one person cleaning, all the employees were doing is playing on their phones and ignoring their duties. Place is just dirty and very unwelcoming. I was going to say something to what I thought was the manager, but they seemed more interested in was playing and talking with the other employees.
It all starts with the manager. All the good PF’s I’ve been too, the manager leads by example. So if the manager is not a good leader, what do you expect from their employees.
If not for the big parking lot and allowing RV’s and truckers park over night, this PF SHOULD be a 1 star.

Every time plainfield planet fitness gets a good employees, somehow they managed to run them off. I've been here for 7 plus years at this gym and they finally had their best set of employees yet and ran them out for unknown reasons. When you have 40 different employees a year at some point you have to realize that it may not be the employees issue and be an employer problem. I wish they would just keep the good ones so we can keep the high level of service I have grown accustomed to over the last 6 months.

Gym is nice,.area is clean, however they have equipment hoarders and no one does anything about it. There is one couple that will leave their stuff on a piece of equipment and then tell people they can't use it while they are doing something else. It's actually ridiculous since everyone pays for a membership.

I started my membership with PF in Jan. Since I chose the black card I usually go to different locations. I did chose this location as my primary one because it was advertised as being opened 24/5, I work 2 jobs and needed to have as much flexibility as possible.I used to go in the evenings at first and then every now and then the gym would close at 9p or 10p even when it was supposed to be open all night. With a change in schedule, I would start going to the gym in the morning before work, sometimes I’d get there around 5a. This only went on for a couple of weeks and went downhill from there, they started closing early and open late because they did not have the staff to cover those shifts. Few times I would find the location closed and having to wait 45 mins in the parking lot to wait for someone to finally stroll in. The second time it happened, I walked up to the associate and very nicely asked “ how can I know when the gym is closed so I don’t make an effort to wake up and spend 45 mns in a parking lot waiting, he basically shrugged his shoulder and did not even acknowledge me or my concerns. They then hired a young lady who was there prolly a week, I started calling ahead of time to make sure they’re open and it seemed ok. After 3 days I showed up before 5a one day and waited until 6:20a for someone to come and open, once again no apologies, no acknowledgment. I spoke to a few gym goers that were also waiting and they let me know that this habitually happens, that they have complained about it multiple times and no one cares. I asked one of the gym associate ( the only nice and professional one) then who was the manager so we can voice our concerns to, I found out that the very rude associate was indeed a manager. I went to him to speak again and he just turned his back and let me speak to his behind basically. At that point, I know he was racist for sure because I have never seen him treat the rest of predominantly white customer this way. As I waited in the car I wrote a very frustrated email to customer service which was never answered. I decided from that day to never go to this location again, I will not continue with disrespect and neglect. Also, this location has been literally the worst one out of all of the ones I went to:it is dirty, it stinks, unkempt, have outdated and broken equipments. Overall a terrible experience, I urge everyone to take their business elsewhere. I wish I could give 0 stars. The owner should really try to care more about his staff and pay them more to avoid such a high turnover.

This is by far the most neglected planet fitness bathroom. I've been to many planet fitness and none of them look like this. I come here because of convenience. I'm a truck driver and I like to workout to try to stay in shape. But everytime i come to this location I already know I'm going to find it in the same if not worse situation. It's sad, because it's in a very nice location. For hygienic reasons, the staff should seriously and swiftly start doing something about r.

Like T Murthy’s review the time listed is wrong. Shows Friday: 12am-9pm on app/maps yet is closed at 5:15am. Wish if they knew in advance they were short an employee on that day they would post a sign saying they would be closed tomorrow from “whenever-whenever” so I don’t waste a trip coming to a closed location.

Edit: 4 star to 1 star. Communication is key and constantly not communicating about when your going to be closed is crazy. Second day in a week your times are wrong. I get staffing issue b it LET US KNOW when you don’t have someone for the following day. Crazy how simple of a fix this could be but ignorance is very clear. Waiting for the “owner” to say “we care about our customers please leave feedback through planet fitness” like that will do anything. They obviously do not care.

I arrived at 5:30 AM because the location showed 24/7 hours. The employee showed up at 5:35 AM, goes inside, and there are 15 cars in the parking lot with people ready to go in. Twenty minutes later everyone is sitting in the parking lot, waiting. If you are going to be a part of a national brand either do it right or don’t do it.
