The community is everything—safe, supportive, inclusive, and exactly what I need. Every class lets me turn my brain off and just be, while getting stronger each time. It’s fun, challenging, and rewarding. Holly brings unmatched energy and positivity that radiate throughout the studio.

Even after moving over an hour away, I still choose Downtown Indianapolis Pure Barre. I pass multiple studios and workout options on the way, but none match the vibe and experience Lizzy and her team create. It’s worth every mile. Just try a free intro class (Engage) and you’ll see!

As someone who did not work out at all prior to joining Pure Barre, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a full body workout. I am not motivated to work out on my own, so I knew I needed a class setting. Having an instructor modeling the moves is extremely helpful and having others in the class keeps me accountable and encouraged to keep pushing when the burn starts to kick in. I always tell people that Pure Barre is tough—you absolutely walk away tired and sore—but feels manageable because the moves are easy to follow and we are never doing a single move for longer than a minute or so. So when you start to shake, there’s usually only 10-15 seconds left and you’ll get relief soon. It’s the first and only workout that I’ve stuck with in my nearly 30 years of life.

The Pure Barre Indianapolis studio is particularly special. Every instructor is friendly, caring, and encouraging. They take the time to learn your name and specifically motivate you throughout the workout (which totally works on me because I love words of affirmation). They also walk around the room and help adjust you (if you consent to that) if you’re in a slightly wrong position to ensure you’re getting the most out of your workout. In addition to treating the workout with such care, the Indianapolis studio just has a welcoming atmosphere in general. Milestones are celebrated in class and on social media. Instructors truly care about and get to know each individual. I honestly can’t imagine any other space I would feel as safe and respected while working out. 1000/10 would always recommend.

I have been doing pure barre since COVID. it has been a place to exercise out my frustrations and find a calm and welcoming place. Cannot say enough about the professionalism and caring of the staff. Great workout but better a place to gather with friends.

I love this place! I am starting from nothing; I’m not an athlete, loathe working out, and I decided on a whim to try pure barre. Well it has inspired me and changed the trajectory of my life. All of the staff/instructors are so sweet and kind. Everyone is empowering and my confidence has grown so much. The workout is hard but builds so much strength. It’s not an “in your face” brand, everyone is chill. And I am in no way “good” at it but no one notices because everyone is concentrated on their own thing. If you’re in the fence, try foundations. You’ll feel so much better!

Top 10 reasons I love Pure Barre:
1) I was warmly accepted and quickly taken under the “wings” of the awesome instructors on day 1!
2) Everyone wants you to do your best & I really appreciate all the instructors showing me how to correct my form and also encouraging me & others throughout class. I don’t know how but they learn your name & they don’t forget you!😆
3) PB is a great low impact exercise and so it’s a little easier on my joints but no less intense with all the tucking, squeezing, & toning you will do! I never knew a chair sit could be so hard!
4) The instructors always provide low impact options or ways to challenge yourself. It’s “your workout” they will tell you.
5) Besides great Pure Barre apparel they have just fun athleisure wear in general.
6) They have pop up events at different breweries and/or fun locations around downtown.
7) They are a philanthropic group as well, supporting different charities.
8) They host fun events in the studio, such as pajama day, bring your bestie to barre day, etc.
9) It such a good feeling to work your whole body!
10) Forming new friendships!

I'm a man. I do manly things. Lift weights, hunt with my bare hands, etc. I am generally the only man at these workouts... Although pure barre markets more towards women, every man should be doing it. More specifically, if you're an athlete you should absolutely be cross training with it. My sports are soccer and boxing, and pure barre is the perfect supplement to my training regimen. It's low impact.. I would say you have a 0% chance of getting injured here. But the intensity is 100%. It will deplete all of your glycogen and you will feel like you just played a whole soccer game or had a solid lifting session. The atmosphere is awesome, with upbeat music and instructors. Let's work on our seats gentlemen.

This is not like other gyms. There is a welcoming and female-friendly atmosphere. It felt like I was working out with friends. I did not feel self-conscious or judged whatsoever, and the instructor was so kind and encouraging. The women are STRONG! and it felt very empowering to be amongst other women doing our best. I have already recommended the class to my friends and sisters, we are hooked!

Pure Barre has changed my life! I’ve never been one to motivate myself to work out. PB has made me feel stronger physically and mentally. It is deceivingly difficult, (sometimes) without even breaking a sweat, and it works. Targeting specific muscle groups and having the mind-body connection really works for me. I’ve never felt this toned in my life. I can’t imagine life without it! Also, I’m officially loyal to the Downtown Indy studio. I love the instructors! They are the ones who motivate me to get my butt to the studio each time. Highly recommend any woman to try this workout style!

I am so glad I joined pure barre!! With the pandemic going on I have been very cautious of my whereabouts and the studio makes sure to ensure safety to the fullest extent. I'm seeing results already and this is a great way to work out if you are looking for high intensity and low impact work outs. I also burn SO many calories.

Pure Barre Downtown Indy is so amazing!! All of the instructors really care about you and encourage you to push through. It is a tough workout but totally doable no matter your fitness level! They also have created a safe atmosphere with social distancing and cleaning wipes since COVID-19 happened. Can’t say enough good things!

I cancelled my membership on 8/11 for the downtown Indy location, they require a 30 day notice, which put my cancel date at 9/9. I would think that the payment that came out on 8/9 for the month of August would have covered my 30 day notice period but I was charged again on 9/8 for a full month, exactly 1 day before my agreement was cancelled on 9/9, for the month of September. I emailed asking about this charge and they said that they would not do anything about this. I don't agree with this at all and will never ever recommend this place to anyone ever! None of this was explained to me when I signed up either! It should have been refunded to me or at least just charged me for a 1 day pro-rate. Very unhappy!

I was sad to cancel but requested to because I was doing too much physical activity. Which I explained (among several other reasons as well). The owner told me it was canceled. And then 4 days later I got slammed with another months charge. THEN they tell me oh by the way you have to give 30 days notice. But feel free to come in and use that membership in the mean time. I had been considering coming back but will NOT be doing that now. They don't care about the students. Just the money they can make off of them.

Business is shady and I would not recommend.

I started out being super excited about this concept but was disappointed. Not the best experience. They allow WAY too many people in a class at a time and you have to be worried that you are going to hit or kick someone at all times. Especially if you go to a class at a popular time. Also, the carpet is one of the main reasons why I don’t go there anymore. They make you do half of the workout on the carpet on your knees, forearms or elbows and it’s painful! I’ve heard numerous other ladies complain about it at other studios as well. I tried a few times to just grab a floor mat and use it anyway but the the class is so packed you cant use one until the very end, the cool down... and your all practically laying on eachother. They remodeled and I was hoping the new carpet
would be better but it was worse. Also, be careful with the automatic withdrawal with the membership. They require a “30 day notice” to cancel but in all actuality they charge you 60 days. Not a great experience.

Pure Barre Indy is the best. I started in July with no strength, no commitment to my health, and cranky about working out. In the months since I've gotten ripped, confident, and uncompromising in making Pure Barre part of my regular routine. Although my friends and family fear I've joined a sticky sock-clad cult, the impact on my life has been unmistakable. If you're reading this thinking, "I can't do it," go to a class. It will be disorienting, mildly painful, and challenging. Go back. It will get fun and you will get strong. You will meet more encouraging and fierce lady pals than you knew could possibly exist at one fitness studio. Most importantly, you will meet someone even better: the best version of yourself. Pure Barre used to be something I feared trying because it seemed too hard and I didn’t think it was something I could do without making a fool of myself. Much to my surprise it was the exact opposite and has quickly become my favorite workout! All of the instructors are amazing and are always helping you perfect each pose while encouraging you at the same time. I would recommend anyone to try out Pure Barre and to go to the downtown location in particular because all the girls are fantastic!

Meh over all. The building is ok, although u did not like the layout. The staff was nice, that's the biggest plus. It's very overpriced. The Barre room has very rough carpet in it so it's unpleasant to do floor excersice. And the lesson itself is not my fav---music is too loud do you can not hear instructor well

Absolutely LOVE Pure Barre! Some might shy away from classes or membership because of the price point, but it's 100% worth it! I came in just trying out one class and was immediately hooked. The combination of the great atmosphere, the fact that the instructors correct your form so you get the best workout possible and all the positive reinforcement makes this my favorite workout ever!
