Our intimate yoga studio - located inside Opt2Liv Medical in Geist - has been intentionally created as a safe welcoming space for anyone to walk in and feel seen and valued. The RAW Yoga instructors embrace each individuals' uniqueness by offering options in classes for people to explore their personal practice while coming together on their mats. RAW Yoga's intention is to hold space for souls to come together, have an embodied experience and deepen their awareness that we are all unique and yet connected in this lifetime. You can expect to leave our classes feeling more calm, clear, uplifted, centered, empowered and balanced. Namaste.

Roots and Wings Yoga Wellness at Opt2liv is an amazing place to introduce yourself to the Yoga/Holistic world as a beginner or continue you journey your already on. I joined the Reiki 1 training Kim Carlson held and it was empowering but also gave me a sense of awareness and peace I've never experience before. I went into the training with an open mind and heart and feel like I left the training full! I found myself awaiting each week the two hours I would get to sit with likeminded souls and work on self-love, finding inner peace and learning how to share this with others. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Every time I took Fatimaeliza’s virtual prenatal yoga class during my most recent pregnancy, it was JUST what I needed. An hour to turn off the stress of taking care of everyone else and just connect with my body and my baby. I recommend this class for all pregnant mamas!

I cannot say enough positive things about Fatimaeliza’s prenatal yoga class. Every week during my first pregnancy, I looked forward to her class to help set my energy for the rest of the week. She challenged me and calmed me all in the same hour! The class helped with the tension in my hips, especially during the third trimester, and it goes without saying it helped connect me with my baby. Thank you, Fatimaeliza for helping me feel great physically and mentally during my first pregnancy!

All the teachers are thoughtful and patient with their instructions which makes it perfect for all levels. There are many varieties of classes and I love trying them all! This studio is wonderful. Kim Carlson is an incredible instructor - knowledgeable, grounded, inspiring, inventive and kind. I’ve been practicing yoga for over five years in the DC area and I don’t think I’ve enjoyed any yoga class as much as I enjoyed the yin yang class I took with Kim today. It was the perfect combination of vinyasa flow and yin yoga and left me ready to start the rest of my day with a grounded and grateful heart. And the eye pillows are such a wonderful bonus at the end. ;) Very highly recommend!

Kim does an amazing job of making everyone feel welcome, and creating a community within the studio. In addition to classes, she hosts events to help us all connect with one another. She has a calming presence in class and her energy is so positive. All of the instructors really care about the students. After trying many yoga studios, I am thankful to have found a home at Roots and Wings.

Roots and Wings Yoga Wellness is such an inviting space. It has great energy and such kind people. Different classes are available for every and anyone. My personal favorite is the Saturday Fusion where there is a bit of stretch and strength, leaving you fully ready to tackle the weekend feeling fantastic.

While I don’t have much yoga experience at all, I have loved the variety offered at Roots & Wings. For someone who typically doesn’t stray from cardio and weightlifting, I have enjoyed taking the yoga fusion class on Saturday mornings. And also the althletic stretch class on Sundays is great. I find that I never take the time to stretch properly after a workout, and come out of the stretch class feeling wonderful. Kim, Lucy and the instructors at Roots & Wings always make it comfortable and enjoyable. Our Fit Club is a great place for a fantastic workout.

Roots & Wings Yoga Wellness is such a great atmosphere for yoga classes! At the end of each class I always feel like I got a good workout, but also very relaxed. The vinyasa class is excellent for a well-rounded practice encompassing strength and flexibility. I’ve actually attended RAW classes in two venues— one being the studio and the other being a “corporate yoga” setting, in which a class is taught over the lunch hour. It’s always something my colleagues and I look forward to!

Yoga is very difficult for me. I have a hard time quieting my mind. I am so so grateful my path has crossed with the yoga instructors of Roots and Wings Yoga Wellness. I absolutely enjoy the athletic stretch yoga, yin, and Nidra!
