I met with Pierre for an Ayurvedic consult and had a wonderful experience! I felt very seen and welcome. He was a great listener and provided a wealth of information that felt very specific to me. After our consult he also provided a summary of our meeting with his suggestions and other resources. He's been very easy to communicate with and responsive. I will definitely continue meeting with him!

It's been a great experience. I love that it's not just about the physical exercise. Each class incorporates mindfulness and meditation. The teachers really help guide a novice student. It's been very welcoming! It's also easy to schedule online.

I have never felt so welcomed at a yoga studio before! The moment I walked in the door I felt at home.

I have been an inconsistent yogi for over twenty years, taking classes here and there. I'm not flexible and forty-five years old. I've always felt a little out of place at yoga studios. I have never felt that way at Santosha!

The teachers are kind, patient and non-judgemental. They offer so many classes and lots of other services/products as well.

This place is the real deal, such good energy! Try it, you won't regret it!

When I recently broke my radius , I practiced the relaxation techniques (esp. "alternate nostril breathing") that I learned in yoga, both in the ER and after surgery. I was able to manage the pain without drugs! My thanks to Santosha and my wonderful instructors, Sheila and Jo! And, I'm so glad to be back!

I’m so happy I decided to have our surprise office Christmas party activity here. I brought a staff of 12 people and ALL enjoyed the YOGA AND THAI-YOGA MASSAGE experience tremendously. I especially enjoyed the personalized attention and care that Kathy Busso did from the very first time I spoke to her. She was very attentive and helpful and kept in touch with me so well throughout the process. The activity space was just perfect- both spacious and serene/inviting. Kathy and her girls provided the best Thai-Yoga massages. Kathy is just a wonderful person and I intend to continue seeing her for regular yoga and massage and I can’t wait to share my experience with my entire family. Thank you so much!

I've been having bodywork at Santosha with Shelia and I'm so thankful that a friend connected me with her! She's really gifted and her knowledge and holistic approach to the body is exactly what I was hoping to find after moving to Indianapolis. Indy is lucky to have someone like Shelia and the expertise she provides in Ayruveda at the Santosha School.

I am in yoga teacher training and learning more than I planned on. My teachers are TOP NOTCH and concerned and helpful. The studies are wide ranging. Not just the poses, but much much more. You are welcome any Wednesday night for ($5.00) community class, at 6:00 PM. Join our yoga class and watch the teacher trainees as their skills grow. Stay afterwards as the teacher trainees evaluate the teaching experience. Peace and Love Jayw

Starting yoga well into my 40's wasn't easy: there were many tangles and kinks to work out, physically and otherwise. Santosha School has been a welcoming place to roll out my mat and work through it all, guided and encouraged by some of the most experienced and caring souls I know. After several years of practice here, I enrolled in the teacher training program and am now growing my practice in another way. I feel so much better - physically, mentally and spiritually. And now my family has joined in the yoga goodness too!

I have been going to Santosha regularly for the past 6 weeks and I always leave feeling better than when I arrive. I'd never been to a yoga class in my life before walking in and noted the staff have been incredibly welcoming of practitioners of all abilities. The staff are extremely friendly/welcoming and have the ability to transfer their deep knowledge and understanding of yoga with humility. The school carries such a positive energy and has a feeling of entering an old friends household rather than a workout studio. Whether you're brand new yoga like me or deep into your practice, I'd highly recommend!

Santosha is my favorite yoga studio in all of Indianapolis. There is a deep underlying current of tradition and spirituality and healthiness that is wonderfully balanced with the fun upbeat energy of the classes and teachers there. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. I always feel I am exactly where I need to be when I am there and after class I am always glad I carved out time in my day for taking care of myself through yoga practice. I can't recommend Santosha enough for all levels of yogis. Also- massages with Shiela are other-worldly! :) She has a very intuitive gift and always knows exactly what my body needs to restore and relax.

I tend to float around between a few different yoga studios in town, but Santosha has very much become my favorite! I first practiced yoga here back when it was a one-room studio, so it's nice to see how much it's grown in its current location with a wide variety of classes all to nourish the mind, body, and spirit. There's truly something for everybody, whether you're looking for an athletic practice or strictly to relax and chill, there are classes for you (plus if you're on a budget, there are several $5 classes available each week and an unlimited membership is only $79 a month!).

Revisiting my hometown while going through surgeries and depressing pain meds, I prayed Indy had grown enough over the years to embrace Ayurvedic Medicine. To my great surprise...YES! Founded by Pierre Couvillion, Santosha School was (and still is) exactly the kind of support I was hoping for. Amazing teachers, inspiring class content, educational yoga classes and relaxing bodywork available by Shiela. I had a Skype consult with Pierre and, though I have learned many tools for healing over the years, his knowledge of Ayurveda, yoga, philosophy and massage is outstanding. Wish for support...and the support appears! I am now attrnding daily 30-min breath & meditation classes as well as warm (and sometimes cool) yoga classes. Beautiful community to have here in Indy. Not your typical yoga mill. Hooray for the Ayurvedic path!

I began practicing yoga to Santosha a little over 2 years ago and I have never left. I love it here. The atmosphere is so welcoming, it becomes like a second home. The teachers are incredible and truly care so deeply for the practice itself and any way they can share it with you. This wonderful place is more than just a yoga studio. I have attended wonderful classes that include Ayurveda, emotional healing, massage, Tai Chi and meditation. They work so hard to encompass not just the physical, but the emotional and spiritual aspects of life without becoming overbearing, preachy or spacey.

Santosha School is the best yoga studio and natural health care center in the city. I am a 200hr yoga teacher who recently moved back to the state and was looking for a place to not only teach but continue my education and dive deeper into the more subtle practices of yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda. As soon as I walked in the door and took my first yoga class I knew this was the place for me. I talked with the owner Pierre and after I left and got home I immediately e-mailed him expressing my enthusiasm in wanting to be a part of the school and it's development. Since starting my 300hr training I have not only learned an immense amount, but I have become a part of a community of like minded individuals who lift me up every time I walk in the door. Santosha is home. I hope you come to check it out and if you like what you feel, stay a while! We welcome you!! <3 Namaste

A letter to my teachers:
I have been meaning to share some things with you for some time, but am working on my follow through :)
It's been about a year, now, since I bought the Groupon to try out Santosha as I was finding such enjoyment in the random all-level yoga classes I was finding around town. My life has only improved in quality since that time. I can definitely attribute that change to the experience I have at Santosha.
The first class I ever attended was taught by Shelia, and we had an instant connection due to her amazingly kind personality. She was so extremely helpful and I left there having had the best workout of my life! She showed such great knowledge and best practice in the class that I became thirsty for more! She was then, and still is, a GREAT teacher and person.
In Pierre's class, I was faced with 2 major realizations: #1-Yoga is so much more than surface level flexibility workouts . . and it's hard. Really hard. And painful. Really painful. And revitalizing, and spiritual, and challenging, and mentally stimulating . . and the list goes on. #2-I actually had no clue what I was doing even after years of sporadic classes.
When weekday freetime became an extra opportunity to get in another class, I connected with Kelsey. Her class style was a little less predictable with more opportunity for strength and balance poses. All I wanted to do was get home from work and practice the new move Kelsey showed in class. She also proved to be a kindred spirit who I looked forward to talking about running and mountain love with before and after class.
One Sunday, Tracy Stoner was subbing for Pierre. I had been traveling for a few weeks and had been out of practice. Tracy was awesome at demonstrating for forgetful me and not laughing when I pounded my head into the wall during handstands :)
Last week, I stopped in for Brandy's first class. I was a little skeptical of how things would go, admittingly, but only because I had such experienced and knowledgeable teachers who I loved! But she was sooo so great, as well! She was a natural at teaching/explaining and I LOVED her adjustments. They were comfortable and felt amazing! The class was well organized and executed.
While I am still in the novice stage of learning and skill, I cannot begin to describe the strength I have gained mentally, physically, and spiritually from attending classes here! I wanted to recognize the excellent training and teaching that has made this past year so incredible. What you all do is life changing. I so very much appreciate your time and dedication to teaching and to your students! Thank you!

The school is excellent with its teachers and classes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The school not only focuses on the fitness aspect of yoga but also on the spiritual philosophy. The studio itself is spacious and very clean. Pierre, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable on poses and alignment. The yoga plus zumba class is a light-hearted treat as well. I highly recommend a visit to this school for all yogis here in Indy. It is a must!

Santosha School is an incredible place to practice yoga. The amount of knowledge and experience encompassed within the school is beyond any other yoga studio in the area and possibly in the country. If you're a beginner, this is the place for you! You'll learn great poses and postures the right way in a safe and friendly environment. If you're a practiced yogi, this is also the place for you! The varied level of classes in yoga as well as ayurveda, bodywork, and spiritual practice really allows you to go deep into your practice to learn more about your soft limits and all you have to offer.

my experience here was by far one of the most beneficial and nurturing I have ever come across, from Seattle to New York. visiting the area from out of town my mind body and soul needed some ayurvedic love and healing. the entire experience, from prompt response for appointment request, the welcome smile of Shiela, to the expert care I received from Pierre, was everything I had hoped for and so much more. this is not your typical place (generic spa) to have massage/body work and I strongly encourage you to experience Ayurveda through the expertise and compassion of this team. I look forward to many years of care and good health with some new friends - long distance and when I come back to visit. thank you Santosha, from the bottom of my Kapha heart. you are providing Indiana a much needed change in health care.

Being a physical therapist, I tend to get a bit picky. I have tried several yoga places in Indianapolis area, but didn't find any that came close to Santosha yoga. If you are looking for a real yoga place, this is it. It is very similar to the yoga I practiced in India while growing up. A yoga class with Pierre brings peace to the overworked mind and the body feels restful and refreshed. Oh and I love the body work here, if you try once you will be addicted to it, like I am.

Santosha is a place of peacefulness and serenity. The folks who are drawn there are so authentic. No fashion show, no loud hen chatting, it's just a chill, comfortable place. Anyone could walk in and feel like he/she belongs there. Pierre is a wonderful teacher. He has created a space that is so open and airy and unpretentious. There is ample opportunity to learn and grow, but also to just be who you are that day or that moment. I love the wide variety of teas, oils, yoga mats and rugs -- especially the Mandala coloring set! (great gifts). Pierre is very open minded about how to grow the school and has such dedication. He's got so many creative ideas (for example, canoe/yoga trips). I am excited to have Kristen and Erin as teachers as well. Also, the music is very eclectic! Always puts a smile on my face and keeps me guessing. I would encourage anyone to come to Santosha. It's a great school and community.

I've been to six yoga studios in the Indy area and while each offers something of value, I found that Santosha Yoga training is a perfect fit for me. The group classes are simple yet challenging with a diverse array of practitioners. For anyone with ongoing health issues such as osteoporosis, scoliosis, arthritis, back pain etc., I would highly recommend a private session with Pierre to learn more about muscle imbalances and the ways in which you can individualize your own practice to address your specific needs. The school has a "first week free" offer so that you can get a good idea as whether or not yoga is right for you.
