I started working with Sean about a year and a half into a pretty intense fitness journey in my late 30s. I was determined to lose 100lbs and most of my workout experience to date during that time had been with cardio and light lifting through home programs. I had hit a wall, struggling to lose the last ~30 lbs to hit my goal. I hadn’t lifted heavy for nearly 20 years and was apprehensive about starting that process again later in life. Fast forward to a year+ later, and I could not be happier about the decision to work with Sean as a personal trainer. He does a stellar job tailoring the training experience to the type of workouts that invigorate his clients. He gives steady, constructive feedback, aimed at ensuring form is never sacrificed and that the potential for injury is low - something that was crucial to me as a former athlete with known areas of injury to work around.

The accountability and professionalism that 1:1 training with Sean affords is unmatched. Not only have I continued to make tremendous progress toward my weight loss goals, but he continues to support and identify new goals, ensuring training never feels stagnant. I’m seeing muscles I didn’t know existed and feeling both stronger and more confident than any stage of life before this one. That is a real gift.

I would highly recommend Sean to anyone looking for a trainer. I have been working with him for about 5 months and genuinely enjoy our sessions. Sean is the best trainer! If you have been debating on getting a personal trainer or a general gym membership, hire Sean as your personal trainer! You will not regret it. Shawn is the best trainer around. I let myself get pretty out of shape due to some illnesses in my family and having to take care of parents. When I finally decided it was time to get back at it I reached out and have to tell you, you could not get a better experience than Shawn. He goes out of his way to help you obtain your goals. When I travel to even put together workouts for me to do on the road that are very detailed, and very familiar to what I do when I’m with him. The level of professionalism, personal attention, knowledge, technique, and general motivation that he offers is unmatched. You can go to one of the big gyms and fight for equipment and fumble around with no real guidance or direction, or you can spend a little extra money get a real trainer and get some real goals achieved. Do not hesitate to get started with Sean.

Sean is awesome! I have been working with him for a few weeks and already feel stronger. I love that my workouts with him are short and efficient and that his schedule is so flexible. All of these things are so important for a busy, working mom! I have tried several “boutique” fitness classes that require a membership and I can honestly say his workouts are better and obviously more personalized. I am an occupational therapist and love that Sean focuses on safety with his workouts through proper stretching and correct form in order to prevent injury and also tracks progress/stats during every workout. I was first referred to Sean a few years ago by my former trainer who was moving out of state. He said that he felt Sean would be the best fit for me because I require a knowledgable trainer who pays careful attention to proper form due to my lower back injury.

I’m so grateful for that referral because Sean has truly been the most important factor in me sticking with an exercise program and doing it correctly and injury-free. He pushes me further than I would ever think of going on my own, but he also knows when enough is enough.

Sean is personable and fun, but he understands that your time and money are valuable. When you schedule a 30 minute training session with SG Fitness, you get a 30 minute workout. There is no time wasted ever!
