About the Club

We are conveniently located in Downtown Lafayette at 217 N. Second St. We kept you in mind while building our space, with gorgeous chandeliers, dark walls and a state of the art sound system. Our non-traditional aesthetics brings the modern world to yoga. The connection made inside will leave you wanting more. Kim Barrett and Courtney Biancofiori opened Society Yoga on June 1, 2020 after obtaining their yoga certification at a studio in Florida together. Their goal was to create a space for all people seeking spiritual and physical wellness to explore the benefits of yoga. They are founded on the principle of inclusivity and the belief that you do not have to look or be a certain way to practice yoga.

I love love love Society, I recently moved out of the area and this is the thing I miss most. The classes are truly as mentally and physically challenging as you want/need and the instructors are amazing! If you get a chance to take a class taught by Kate or Courtney you’re in for an absolute treat but all instructors are gems! Both of them take time to encourage, guide, teach, and connect with each member in their classes. Kindness radiates off of everyone at this studio and it truly does feel like a community and I always left feeling better than when I came in. If I’m ever back in the area I would go out of my way to drop in for another class!

Excellent Hot Yoga Studio!! Great teachers, very clean and an excellent variety of different class styles. Everything from Power Yoga to Yin Restorative along with some interesting fitness sculpt practices! And all of the classes are accompanied by a great sound system and music that synergizes perfectly with the theme of the class! Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in beginning or continuing their yoga practice! Also worth noting there is a "gentle yoga" class with no extra heat for those who prefer an average ambient temperature! :-)

I was never a yoga girl until I went to society yoga. I felt like yoga was not enough of a workout. Until I did the sculpt class with Kim and it was the hardest thing I have ever done! If u want an amazing workout with cardio/strength and yoga that takes u to the next level give society yoga a try!

I’ve never been as fit as I was when I was regularly attending society yoga. Unfortunately I had to move towns. Indianapolis needs a Society Yoga! There’s nothing quite as good here!

Society Yoga is so much more than a yoga studio. It’s amazingly soulful and bold. The energy and vibe are both motivational and inspirational. The moment you walk through the doors you know it’s about to be your workout happy place. Next - get ready to sweat!!!!

Instantly walking into Society Yoga I feel peace and happiness. Every instructor puts so much thought and care into each of their classes and you can’t go wrong flowing with any of them. The heat really enhances the experience. I’ve cut most of my cardio and just do yoga - it’s an incredible workout for body and mind. Highly recommend Society Yoga!

I have been practicing Yoga with Society Yoga since Kim and Courtney opened and have always had a fabulous and positive experience. The heated power Vinyasa classes are my choice as well as Yin. They have great teachers offering several practice options for a great Yoga experience! Namaste!

There is no other yoga studio like it. Somewhat new to yoga when I started practicing here, I would have considered myself an experienced beginner (about 75 classes completed.) I’ve had the pleasure to practice at Society pretty heavily for over a year and I could say they have cemented my practice foundation I carry with me to this day, gaining knowledge from the amazing instructors, Courtney, Kim, Kate, Jenn and Rina. They were always helpful with answering any questions or further breaking down postures through explanation and demonstration.

After practicing in numerous different types of studios thru-out the country, Society is truly in a class of its own and have yet to see a another space like it. It’s been well over a year since my last class there and at the time I thought I would have been bummed about it, but when walking out of the studio for the last time I had an overwhelming feeling and sense of beginning. I didn’t know where that came from but looking back now it was probably because my intuitive self knew my yoga journey was only really beginning, and I would be bringing so much with me.

But what is it that makes Society so special? It’s a place where you can push yourself past your physical boundaries, enlarge your mental capacity, a place that is encouraging at the same time challenging. Some will refer to it as their safe space, which it is… I liked to think of it as my mental war room with many battles being fought and won in my own mind. Ultimately it is a place for growth but make no mistake about it... YOU have to do the work. They can only provide the perfect environment to get your body and mind right.

A mirrorless, all black room lets you focus on your posture, the burn, and balance. You get to focus on yourself. Decorated with the blank canvas of life you get to paint your own experience. Beautiful chandeliers emit energy and provide a warm ambiance, paired with the heat of the room and burning incense, all your senses are ignited.

Each class begins with an uplifting passage or intention that can relate to our lives as individuals but practiced together as a whole. They will get you into the state of mind where you know You CAN, no doubt about it :) As an individual you are free to be yourself and practice to what best suits your body, as everyone is different. The various workshops they hold let you take your knowledge and practice deeper, learning not only more about yoga but also yourself. Society Yoga has had a lasting impression on me well for the better.

I look forward to the day to practice here again, as I feel tied to staring into that beautiful black abyss. That may sound dark but trust me its all light. This M*thaF*ckin Places Shines!!

Society Yoga is an experience like no other. One that was the catalyst in my diving deeper into my yoga practice and ultimately pursuing teaching yoga. Now I teach AND practice here and it’s so fulfilling in so many ways ❤️🤗

Total noob at yoga, never been to a class before, just had a baby, such a hot mess....and they made me feel nothing but welcome. The staff here are so encouraging and supportive. You get a full body, mind, and spirit experience for each class. 10/10 would recommend

One of the best mind/body experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I joined society’s “Sunday service” session honestly expecting to just be in a hot room, not understanding the moves, and feeling a little out of place being outside of my comfort zone.

This theory was quickly proven wrong as I was made to feel very comfortable by not only the instructor but the others in the class. Feeling no pressure to understand moves nor the fear of being vulnerable. The space is beautifully designed with modern touches, a dark studio, & what seems like a very high end sound system that somehow became very calming.

As stated, I joined their “Sunday service” @ 9am which was a hot yoga class with powerful messages throughout the experience from the instructor. A full body & spiritual experience that I never expected to have when I signed up.

If this is something you’ve enjoyed doing or you’re looking to step outside of your comfort zone do yourself a favor and just join a class. They’ll be seeing me again

I have been to a few different studios over the couple of years and Society was one of the best! I took a morning yoga sculpt class with Kim and she was a fantastic instructor. She was very welcoming to me as a first timer and the class was the perfect balance between challenging and making me want to come back for more. The location was very nice and clean and the other members were inviting. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming as a guy coming into classes like this that are normally predominantly female, but there were quite a few men there as well which was great to see. Definitely recommend to someone looking for a great studio and absolutely plan to come back whenever I am in the area

Best yoga installation I’ve ever been to. Wasn’t able to do any type of stretch before coming here. But with frequent visits and practice I was able to achieve my short term goals in a matter of months. So I’m grateful to have stumbled upon this yoga family.

Society Yoga is my home away from home. I have never felt more connected to myself physically and spiritually until Society came into my life. My yoga practice has grown immensely since joining this community in August. I adore this community and the people that have made it what it is.

The COVID pandemic had been hard on everyone, however Society has done a WONDERFUL job at respecting the rules. They have socially distanced the mats out and have stressed the importance of wearing a mask when not on the mat.

As the rules evolve, Society has evolved too. This is an ever changing time, and they have done a great job of changing their practice as they received the news too.

Really liked the practice and the employees were very nice! However, I was very close to other attendants and none of the employees were wearing masks which made me feel pretty uncomfortable.

A home away from home. With the most uplifting instructors, I believe that this is the place to be even if you have not thought about doing yoga before. It has helped physically and mentally for not only myself, but many others that have been going to these classes! Highly recommend
