My baby has been in swimming classes for two years, and her teachers have been extraordinary, each one suited to her age. We are very pleased with her teacher Abby in the Jellyfish level, as she has taken our daughter to the next level of challenge, and this is evident in her performance. My son has ASD and we were looking for a good swim school and our friend suggested stony creek. We were so happy "Andy" was our son's instructor and she did such a great job teaching him. But unfortunately we had to stop his lesson as they have increased their prices and it got too expensive for us. I really wish they wouldn't have done that as we were looking forward to having a lot of success they way Andy was helping my son with his Swim lessons. Really sad! We started swim classes with our newborn a few weeks after she graduated from the NICU. Her teacher, Morgan, was so knowledgeable and skilled at teaching our preemie baby water basics and answering any and all of my questions along the way! We drive 45 mins weekly for our baby’s 30 min class which might sound crazy to some but for us it’s a no-brainer. I love Stony Creek. My twins have been in the water since they were four weeks old and are thriving right now at two. They are doing some things that seem impossible at two years old, but with the fantastic staff at SCSC they are worked with very well to be at their skill level and beyond. We have two children attending Stony Creek.
One of my children (T) is in the special abilities class with Miss Abby and one (R) is a group class with Miss Madison.

Our son T has been with Miss Abby for around 8 months. She is kind, patient, and possesses a mentorship demeanor - always willing to meet the kiddos where they are and help guide them patiently, to whatever the next step is.

I should mention our son T is primarily nonverbal - she gives him the patience and empathy he needs to develop trust and confidence. He recently did a backstroke- and when I say it moved me, ya'll - it moved to tears, to excitement, to hope.

She even stepped in to help with our son R when having some water anxiety.

Miss Madison has been wonderful also! She always has a great personality, is calm and cares for all the kids in her class. R loves checking out her nail polish and telling her about super-heros!

We also want to shout out Josh - who hypes the kids up - all the time. He cultivates the inclusion any parent could hope for.

We also love the office ladies - everyone is helpful. Props to Katie for all her help with ESA!!!

My son has been coming to swim classes here for a little over a year. We have always loved how welcoming and helpful all of the staff are. The atmosphere is cute and very kid-friendly! We could not recommend Stony Creek Swim Center more! We started about three months ago with our infant and two year old. Our two year old is in the Angel fish class with Ms. Brooke. Of all the things to praise about Stony Creek, Brooke has got to be number one! Stony Creek consistently has kind, effective instructors, and they are always helpful, accommodating, and responsive to the needs of each individual child. One instructor, Abby, is an especially bright star - she's been AMAZING with each of my children who've had her, and I plan to rearrange our schedule as needed to ensure the 3rd can be in her class as well! They adore her and learn so much, so quickly with her. The general manager, Alexis, cares deeply about the family's experience and the customer service is unmatched. I also love that babies can start so early (mine all started when we were still measuring their age in weeks) and develop water safety skills that will serve them for life through a gradual approach that avoids ever creating fear of the water. My autistic daughter has been taking lessons here for over 3 years, and this place has been nothing short of a lifeline. She’s drawn to water and has a history of eloping—so water safety is not just important, it’s life or death.

We started in a private lessons and have since graduated to a semi- private. My daughter has built trust with her teachers, gained confidence, and most importantly—learned how to be safe in and around water.

If you’re a parent of an autistic child, I can’t recommend this place enough. This place goes beyond teaching swimming—they’re saving lives.

Our grandchildren (all four) have all started going to this swim center since they were infants. The oldest is 7 and joined a neighborhood swim team last year. It is easy to see a significant difference in his skill level among his age group and some who are older. Attendance at SCSC has helped fill his bulletin board with blue and red ribbons.
Since being swallowed up by Emler the price increase is about to make us search for a new place to swim after being loyal customers for nearly 7 years .....the staff is still great to work with........but with no discounts and 4 swimmers it becomes problematic.......we saw this coming when the new pool at Westfield was being constructed

I am utterly disappointed with Stoney Creek Swim Center. I sent my son there to swim when he was young and loved it, he is now 31. So when I had grandchildren I suggested Stoneycreek. This was the best swim place UNTIL management changed. Now there have been so many changes. Their prices went way up, they have had many staffing changes, they switched from monthly to weekly pricing, and now communication is non existent. My kids decided to stop lessons and per the instructions on the app they gave 30 days notice which was approved by Stoneycreek. Now with the weekly charges but paying a month at a time there is a week difference and Stoneycreek owes my children 124$. This is because you pay by the month and May is a 5 week month and their end date is not the end of the month. Once again their end date was approved in the app by Stoneycreek. So we have tried several times to talk to them about a refund. They continue to avoid the conversations either having workers who have no authority answering calls or when forwarded to others they get no assistance. Stoneycreek seems amazed that this is frustrating and refuse to refund money. This is SO DISAPPOINTING. I CAN NO LONGER IN GOOD CONSCIENCE RECOMMEND STONEYCREEK SWIM CENTER. I really feel for the employees and a saddened by the decline of service by this swim center.

Recent changes from new ownership led me and wife into pulling our children our of classes here, and when we tried to get a refund they stonewalled us at every turn when we tried to communicate with them. That all culminated with them insulting my wife to the point of tears, which upon learning about I was angered and informed them of such in no uncertain terms and demanded an apology. My toddler has been going for a bit over a month for swim class. She has bad separation anxiety and the staff have been wonderful with trying to comfort her and distract her with fun and toys. I had three kiddos who were very nervous swimmers, ages 2 and 5. It felt like the five year olds would need floaties and an adult beside them for moral support forever. We started with a summer intensive and saw amazing improvement within those two weeks. Choosing to begin weekly classes was easy! It has been less than a year and we hardly recognize our kiddos now. They've experienced a lot of growth in both their skills and confidence. We're really grateful for the caring teachers who have gotten them to where they are today!

We have had an absolutely incredible experience at Stony Creek Swim Center! We tried out another local swim school before this and our child seemed even more hesitant in the water after those lessons. So, we didn’t have much hope in swim lessons after that, but SCSC completely turned that around! our child went from being afraid of having his ears wet to fearlessly jumping and submerging into the water and learning freestyle and butterfly kicks after a few months. So grateful for SCSC in making our child water safe! Would highly recommend.

Almost 3 years ago, a friend suggested I attempt swim lessons “one more time,” at a place she brought her kids. At the time my daughter was 7 and we had been attempting swim lessons for off and on 7 years. (She has high generalized anxiety disorder.) I explained this to the General Manager, Amy, when inquiring about a very small class with someone who specializes in anxiety. She was very understanding and even met with us when no one else was in the building so my daughter would be less anxious to tour the place. Without high hopes (albeit positive energy) I, along with my daughter’s therapist, was able to convince my daughter to give it a try. At the same time, I was enrolling her little sister, who was 2. This helped because they would be near each other. To make a ‘very’ long and detailed story short… bringing my girls to Stony Creek Swim Center was one of the best decisions I ever made. Fast forward 3 years and both my girls, now 5 and 10, are avid swimmers. In fact, my 10 year old wants to join a swim team. It is due in part to the patience, understanding, knowledgeability, and above all kindness of the entire staff at SCSC. We are beyond grateful for so many but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention those who played the biggest parts. Amy, Alexis R, Sara D, and Miranda have made such an impact on my girls lives and I’m forever grateful. We will miss being at Stony Creek Swim Center but will hold fast to our heartfelt memories. My preschooler has been swimming here since late fall. We were recommended by a neighbor. Our son had no prior swimming experience and was scared to put his head under. After a couple teacher changes we were able to find a good fit for our child's personality and needs. The office was also able to make notes on his account about how he is nervous around new teachers and that he responds well to encouragement and praise. A few months ago something clicked and they are able to swim short distances on their own and has gained so much confidence. My little one doesn't always enjoy going but we know learning how to swim is an important skill and life saving tool. We have learned it is really important to stay consistent with lessons and schedule make ups when we do have to have absences. I trust that my child is safe and the staff are well trained. I also like that I am able to watch his whole class and there are extra eyes on all the kids because of lifeguard and deck supervisor. We participated in an open swim this year and were able to get in the pool with our child. I usually hate pools because they are always so cold, but this water was very warm and I had no problem getting in and out because the room was also set to a very warm temperature. We are overall happy with Stony Creek and know we can talk to staff if we have a concern or change needs to be made.

We have been with Stony Creek for a year and each lesson I am still amazed and so pleased with how amazing the staff is and their approach to swim lessons for kids. There isn’t anywhere else we could enroll our kiddos at! If there is a waitlist, it usually opens up quickly. It’s worth it! There’s a reason the classes are always full!

They have created a fun and safe water space with instructors who are clearly passionate about what they do. The consistency in the lessons, small class sizes and taking into account each child’s comfort level, abilities and personality is why we love Stony Creek. My oldest was more fearful and my youngest is a total water baby and they both have done amazing in their growth and abilities as well as being comfortable but also safe in the water. I’ve seen very fearful kids come so far with their instructors remaining patient, comforting and supportive.

Watched my grandchildren take lessons there today. It looks like the operation is well managed, as they turn over the classes efficiently. I noticed several special needs children taking classes, which let's me know they must have some excellent instructors on staff. I vividly remember this place. I was a kid, (technically I still am a kid), but I was around 5 to 6 years old. The swimming instructors were always quite strict. Over the years of going there, I started to dread going. I would BEG my parents to not let me go, because they didn't understand how terrible it was! I found multiple band-aids in the water and it gave me paranoia about swimming there. One time when I felt like I would pass out, one of the instructures just told me to DEAL with it. This place SERIOUSLY needs to monitor staff. The showers were also super dirty as well. The curtains are a hassle to deal with, so most of the time if you peek through you can see people looking at you while you are changing. It made me super uncomfortable! I'm glad that I quit. I still remember how terrible I would feel after. Please, don't take your kids here.

My daughter was extremely scared of the water, she cried for weeks and weeks during lessons. Her teacher, Alexis, who I believe to be a real angel, has been beyond patient, loving, and gentle with her encouraging me to keep coming, that we would conquer her fears. The amount of care and love she has shown my 4 year old is beyond anything I’ve experienced in any childcare or education setting. We both held back tears when my daughter finally didn’t cry at all at our latest lesson and achieved more than she ever has in the water. The pride I feel watching my daughter learn to swim and the comfort I have when she is in the arms of her amazing instructor is astounding. I cannot say enough about Alexis and the Stoney Creek Swim School.

HEATHER and all the staff do such a great job. I have twins and one with a sudden behavior in the water. She stuck with him and everyone helped her to be able to give him some attention to stay in the water the whole class. Not an easy job with toddlers but I appreciate the way they stick with it, as a parent we don't always know how to help or the right thing to do in a situation but the staff always helps figure it out.

Extremely disappointed in this swim school. We started taking our toddler here and felt that there was not enough supervision in the class. There were several instances where myself and another mother had to be on the pool deck because they didn't have support. They would take these kiddos to the adult pool (which I later found out by management that they shouldn't even be doing this) where these kids were sitting on the edge of the pool with no supervision and no lifejackets. I brought these concerns up to management (2 voicemails and 3 emails later until I even received a call back) and was told that I would not get my money back because I didn't give them a chance to fix it. I was not going to risk my child drowning for them to "fix it" so it was a no brainer for me to withdrawal immediately. I did speak with another mother in my kid's class who brought these same concerns up with management two weeks prior and nothing was done to correct it. There are several other local programs that are the same price with a much safer atmosphere. There were times when my kid would get out of the water and the instructor would still be in the water so if I wasn't watching, I don't know what would have happened. The pool area was complete chaos. I spoke to the front desk and they also confirmed the last 2 weeks were very disorganized and they have a new pool supervisor who is new and young, and there was a "learning curve". That's fine, but that person needs a mentor because it's a huge responsibility. I just don't feel like these safety concerns were taken seriously. I've never written a review for anything but felt that I needed to put this information out there if it helps one family make a better decision.
