Very nice, from the parking lot staff, clubhouse, pro shop, driving range and the choice of two well kept, challenging 18 hole courses. Very reasonable prices.

Thank you Jeni! You went above and beyond to make sure I got my logo ball to add to my collection. From one former educator to another, I truly appreciate the extra effort! Swan Lake is very fortunate to have you on its staff. Enjoy retirement!

Had an excellent Stay and Play weekend in June 2025 with 8 buddies. Course was pristine, staff were friendly, and the complimentary breakfast hit the spot! We definitely would play here again!

just golfed this course wow out here on the outskirts of town so it's beautiful scenery outstanding course clubhouse fully stocked with everything you want although it's getting close to the end of season they are running low on a few of the food items but still have something there! Great driving range practice greens simply beautiful and for your old timers they do have a water bucket for your towel β³οΈβ€οΈβ³οΈ

On vacation from Florida. Played this wonderful golf course We played the black course. Fantastic fairways. Water in play on many holes Greens putted consistent speed on all holes. The only negative was the rental clubs. Disappointed in such a high quality establishment renting clubs with slick grips. The set did not match. There were clubs from the year 2010 The associates that rented the clubs to me said βTheyβre rentals. What do you expect?β Sort of sarcastic and uncaring. Will probably ship my own clubs next time. Lesson learned. Good test of your game if youβre looking for a challenge.

We brought a group here for a stay and play weekend. The resort and accommodations were fantastic!
Our experience at the actual golf course was less than stellar. We played our first round on Friday, where coming into the turn we were told to speed up play. Totally fair; no problem.
We also spoke to a ranger on hole 16 or 17 where we confirmed we were playing at pace. Keep in mind, there were groups behind us, but it didn't appear we were holding anyone up to tee off, so we didn't understand that we were causing a huge disruption. We finished on Friday in 4 hours and 50 minutes; which is 20 minutes slower than a typical 4h30m pace of play.
On Saturday, we were told at check-in that we needed to play significantly faster, or play as a scramble with our group. We were spoken to at the bag drop. Someone else talked to us at the clubhouse bar. Then the ranger on hole one also reminded us that we were flagged by the director of the resort as needing to play faster.
The kicker, in my opinion, was when we came back into the turn after the first nine, a staff member made patronizing comments congratulating us on "figuring out how to play faster".
We were warned four different times by four different people prior to teeing off because we were 20 minutes slow on our first round.
I'll be the first to say we're not the best group of golfers in the world, a couple of us only get to play a handful of times per year - but this put a bad taste in our mouth and left some of us feeling rather anxious that we weren't "playing fast enough" for the course. Definitely not how we were hoping to spend our weekend.
My feedback to the clubhouse would be to book less tee times if pace of play is that big a concern to badger their guests about.

Course was in pretty good shape... greens were nice, but some of the tee boxes were unlevel. There was no drinking water on the course for our round in August. There is a huge discrepancy in the yardages... either 6500 yards or 5300 yards. They definitely need something in between... maybe around 5900 yards would be ideal. Still enjoyed the course, but only because I played the up tees. Some of our group played back and did not enjoy it as much. Was a good value as we got senior rates. Not sure we'll play here again unless they add some more tee boxes though.

I've been here earlier in the year and had a great time, whereas this time was different.
The good: Course was maintained very well except for all the bunkers being under construction and/or having terrible sand it in. Since it's under maintenance, and saw people actively working on them, it didn't really bother me. The bar area staff and cart girls were friendly and great.
The bad: The villa I stayed in had a lot of flies both dead and alive as well as the shower had a huge hole in it (faucet).
The ugly: The rangers alone ruined the experience to the point where my 2 friends and I left the night before (we prepaid for both nights). We golfed all 4 rounds but only stayed one night. Friday - Bob was the ranger. Our second teetime was pretty much empty all around us. Since no one was behind us, the 7 of us paired up and did a scramble. On hole 5, The ranger came up to us and yelled from the cart "Absolutely not!" Didn't ask politely or anything. I explained there was no one pressing us from behind to which he told us "I don't care. It's the weekend." I asked him if we could continue our round and as soon as we see a cart behind us, we'll split back up no problem. He stayed with us talking to someone on the walkie. We eventually saw the cart when we were on the green so I said no problem we will split up. What really irritated us with Bob, is we caught up to the group in front of us by hole 7. Bob never once spoke to the group in front of us to go faster, but hung around us until hole 10 before finally leaving us alone. Furthermore, he treated all of us like his children instead of adults or respect. Even though I treated him with respect.
Day 2: Ranger (name unknown) approaches us on the practice green asking when we tee off. Told him in 20min on hole #10. Again, with a disrespectful attitude, this ranger says "No you'll be on #1." We asked him if he was sure because the package on the email says hole #10 to which he replies "I don't care, this is my package, and hits his clipboard." We ask him if we can tee off early and on #10 like the day before because no one is around and we could get a head start. He laughed at us and said we will stick to what's on his clipboard. We said that's fine, but he doesn't have to be rude about it, that we were just asking questions. "I'm not being rude" as he laughs it off. Further along the day I asked a random employee to put my cart into a handicap mode due to my disability. Employee told me the GPS would be disabled to which I told him that's fine because I use my phone and rangefinder anyway. He unlocked it, and I went about my round. Bob stops us several holes later (Mid backswing on the teebox) waving his flag asking me about my cart. I explained what happened and he said he will take a look. I asked him to stop slowing us down both yesterday and today and he replied "I'm just doing my job." Once again, we got stuck behind a foursome and no ranger came to them to push their play.
All in all, it was an ok time.

Stopped at Putters bar & grill for lunch. Pork Tenderlion was a prefab, not so great patty. Battered fries & pickle chips were good. Probably won't come back just for fries & pickles though. Their double smash burger looked good like a very thick homemade burger. Not necessarily a thinner patty smashed burger with crisp edges. Staff was very nice though.

Overall good experience but advanced golfers beware. Weekend pace of play is AWFUL. Staff do their best to make accommodations and the two courses helps with this. Beware big groups and very very slow playing players. This from two days and two rounds

My work held a conference at Swan Lake this weekend. The manager, John, was nothing but phenomenal. He was so friendly, courteous, and helped us at the drop of a hat everytime we asked. We didnt even have to ask most of the time. The staff was just as amazing. We couldn't have held our conference at a better place. I will be back to enjoy this place without having to be on the clock. 11 out of 10!

Was visiting family, wasn't sure I'd have time to golf. Got away for 2 rounds recently, over the busy Labor Day weekend. Showed up without a tee-time, was told by the greeters "Not sure we can get you on, go check in". Went inside, and on both days was told "You're next on the tee box". Outstanding customer service and most importantly, the course (black both rounds) was in awesome shape. I was visiting from a drought stricken Texas, and being able to take a divot with my irons in these lush fairways was a very pleasant treat. The greens are on the small side, but rolled beautifully. Can't wait to get back. Thanks everyone!

My husband and I played the Silver course as part of a birthday trip. The golf course staff was amazing, from the gentleman who greeted us in the parking lot, to the young gal in the pro shop and including the friendly starter. The golf course was in great shape, the greens are small but in perfect condition. We followed a large group playing a 5 man scramble, so the pace of play was ok, but with zero chance of them letting faster groups play through. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is there needs to be more tee boxes, the forward tees are 5,400 yards and that is simply too far for the average female golfer or male senior golfer. The starter did tell us that most women play the par 3's from the tee box and for the other holes they just tee-off at the beginning of the fairway. Sorry that's unacceptable! I work as a starter/ranger at a course in Michigan, and plenty of our senior men use our forward tees that are 4,800 yards. This same course added another set of tees for senior women and beginner players. Overall, we had a great time, luckily I putted well because many of the par 4's were unreachable in two.

I'll start by saying that we got unlucky with the weather and it rained for probably 2 days straight and the first day of the trip. But despite that, everyone had a great time.
Both courses do not have full cart paths so if it gets really wet like it was for us, be prepared to do a little walking. Black course is definitely tougher than the silver, but even with all the water, the greens rolled well and they were both in really good shape.
We stayed in the villas which are right next to the green on Black 18. Pretty sweet set up, just wish there was more of a common room other than the bedroom that has the walkout door to the back patio.
IMO the Chophouse is way overpriced for the quality of the food but we found a couple spots near by that weren't too bad.
Overall a pretty cool place, the golf staff were great and I'd definitely be willing to go back.

Came here for their first "Trick-or-Treat Trails" and we had a great time. There were many stops to get candy. There was also a place to get cider and an apple, which my kid enjoyed. There was a free hay ride, too. Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for a ride, but my kid didn't care.
If they do this again next year, we will definitely be back!

Always a great golf experience, two courses really nice condition, a little damp after all recent rain, but drying out well, I'm here for. Three days and weather is forecast hi 70s low 50s just a very tranquil place to sit and enjoy the sunset. Resort has hot tubs and indoor pool, very relaxing. ππ

We just stayed at the hotel for 1 night, it's very beautiful, but if your going for a vacation spot or simply to get away for a night I dont suggest this place. They only have basic cable with no option to rent movies, wifi doesn't even work, the room didnt smell good what so ever, and to top that the bathtub was dirty. The bathtub metal pieces were all full of corrosion, the middle of the bathtub felt like it was falling in, and there was long strands of hair all over the tub. So this hotel in my opinion is definitely not worth the money

Swan lake was a great venue for my little sisterβs wedding, but thatβs not why Iβm giving them 5 stars. There is a woman named Karen who I believe is cleaning staff. She was absolutely phenomenal and professional in dealing with some mishaps in the night, and is probably the reason we would recommend this place to others in the future. I believe she should have a raise.

We are a golfing group that meets every year. We made a change this past year to try this place out. We stayed in one of the log cabins which was awesome! Everything was cleaned and prepped for us, firewood for evening fires, personal grill etc. The course was very well groomed and well managed! We had rain issues and they offered to pay for us to drive somewhere outside of the storm, we didnβt take the offer but after getting home we all were unexpectedly refunded a portion of our cost without any of us asking! The brunch included in our stay each morning was outstanding! Our crew already decided we will be coming back for 2019, a big thanks to the staff!

Stay and Play golf trip
Another huge THANK YOU to Swan Lake Golf Resort! This was our group's 11th trip to SLGR for our annual golf Ryder Cup style tournament. From the moment we arrived it is as if they rolled out the red carpet! The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the additional accommodations are top notch! The golf courses and golf facilities are perfect as we bring a wide range of golfers with different playing abilities. Chad Hutsell, PGA Professional and the Director of Golf is second to none!! Kerri our Stay and Play Rep handles all of our groups requests with a smile. The bar staff at Dickie's and Putter's is phenomenal! Looking forward to April 2019!!.

During my two day stay at the resort, I had to call the front desk at 2:15 in the morning on Saturday night because of the wedding party in the rooms
next door and across the hall were yelling, kicking doors, slamming door, and continuous knocking. Their rude behavior started about 10:30. After calling the front desk it took an hour or so for them to quit their rude behavior...that was after 3:30. They should have been told to leave. Where was security?! I have never experienced this at any hotel I have ever stayed at. They offered me no discount or an apology from the General Manager!! The room was very nice and it was clean. Golf was great! The helpers at the club were wonderful! Food is great too!
