It all started in the '70s at Muscle Beach in Venice, where celebrity sightings were commonplace and serious bodybuilders were putting in serious work. By the '80s, our small gym full of hand-built equipment had grown into a global fitness empire, and our dedication only grew as our membership base did. Today, we're more than 200 gyms strong, serving several continents. Bringing back the classics, like old-school weightlifting with barbells, we're dedicated to keeping fitness simple and effective. And, across locations, we're carrying on the World Gym tradition of making sure our members have access to seriously fun fitness. Every. Single. Day.

This place is a disaster. It is old school because they refuse to buy new equipment. Seats are torn up, Ive been punching on the same bags since I was 4 those are all in two pieces. Someone has to be pocketing money and whoever you are you are a disgraceful person. You cant tell me you cant afford new equipment for the past 15 years because of rent. Even after you changed the membership prices not a thing changed. Now there has been a giant leak in the ceiling for a few months. Instead of fixing it there is just trash cans sitting everywhere collecting water and a giant curtain over the area. They just moved equipment because they expect you to put up with it. The instructors are amazing people but the managers are just mosquitos. Guarantee they drive a new boat. I'd like to see this places books someone is pocketing the money.

Great people & owners. Can get protein shekes made right after a workout, Wholesome package pre-made meals are available to purchase or order and their delicious. Overall a great gym.

It’s got a lot of very smooth machines and plenty of plates and nice ppl there. However almost all the machines they have are way too light. For reference I bench around 330 and squat slightly over 500. But I easily max out almost every machine they have for reps and with a slow tempo. Some machines arent equipped with a steel cable so you can’t add a gym pin on safely.

This place has great classes, great personal trainers. My personal favorite is the kick boxing classes with the Build Them up club. The instructor is Aaron Smith. He's very attentive to your development and he teaches you real techniques for self defense. I was 231lbs and was very self conscious about my body image in the beginning but the instructor never made me feel weird or self conscious about my body. Is belief in me, made me believe in my self. I'm currently down 70lbs
World gym is a place where the staff treats you like family. They have great equipment that gets the job done. Don't take my word for it. Come check ot out for yoursel. Stop by the juice bar before or after your workout for nutrition.

My husband and I came for a free day pass to check this gym out and see if we wanted to purchase a membership. We have children so the child care was at the top of our priority list as far as what we were looking for in a gym.
Going into the child care room, the door did not lock. It's a small, smelly room and there was almost 20 kids in this room. We talked to the care giver and she said that she only gets paid $10 a hour and there is a huge turnaround for the caregivers because they can't get anyone to stay. There is supposed to be 2 caregivers per X amount of children and there's not. They hire one and pay them the least amount of money they can. The child care room allows Ipads, TV, and snacks/juice. It's dirty and carpeted. I cannot imagine leaving my children in that. The locker room was dirty. As we were leaving, I went to the front desk to grab a class calendar for the month. It was the very beginning of the month so I asked the lady behind the counter (must of been the owner) if the calendar was up to date. She replied back with a rude "Yes..?". I was just asking a question, no need to be rude. All in all, take your money somewhere else ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN. I go to the Beacon and the child care is top notch. They have trained caregivers (some even have early childhood degrees) who are paid fairly. Additionally you need a parent key to get into the daycare so it is secured. They also have no TVs there. They read, do crafts, sing etc.
I'm all for supporting local businesses but the owners need to put some serious money into this gym. Update the floors, update the locker rooms. Update the childcare. Put a lock on it so it's not open to anyone. Pay your workers fairly. Also be courteous to your customers. They will remember when you treat them with respect and kindness.

I’ve gone to this gym for over three years. I liked the old school feel. In the three years I’ve been there no new equipment was added. Some of the old equipment got new pads and that was it. Almost always there is something broken. The lat pull down has been broken for over a month. It’s the dirtiest gym I’ve ever been too. The shower has mold growing in it. It’s also a prison style shower with no curtains. The women have curtains though. I guess dogs are allowed?? I’ve seen a man come in with a pit bull and it took a #2 on the main walk way in the gym. Staff is a absolute joke. They do absolutely nothing. Walk around the gym vaping. There is a massive turnover for employees there as they get paid 10 bucks a hour. I had a pretty big issue with another member and talked to staff about it. They told me word for word. “ I don’t know man I don’t get paid enough to break up fights so figure it out.” Talked to the front desk staff about it. Was told oh that member has been here since we opened so I don’t know what to tell you. Canceled my membership immediately. A handful of “trainers” there are young kids with minimal experience. I’ve had to tell a trainer multiple times what he’s saying is wrong. I would absolutely avoid this gym at all costs. Spend the money and go somewhere clean and updated. There’s so much more to say but you get the point. 0/5.

Good commercial gym. Has a bit more of an old school gym feel compared to planet fitness. If you're someone who prefers free weights you'd definitely want this place of planet fitness. Staff and trainers are also very friendly.

Friendly staff, gym is just outdated, not very clean. Some machines are barely hanging on and have duct tape on them. Have one tanning bed the other has been broken for months. Overall a descent gym for the price.

The best gym in town. Clean, equipment is maintained and functional. The bathroom is clean and even has Kerastase shampoo for the members! The dry sauna is sooo good. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

If you're a sophisticated lifter, AVOID THIS PLACE.
Pros:
Price, cheap. Decent selection of plate loaded machines.
Cons:
Staff tapes bars for designated stations. This wouldn’t be a problem if the bars were taped correctly, whatever, no a big deal. I DO have a problem when the barbell I use is the correct bar for the movement and the staff tell me not to use it because the “tape doesn’t match”.. **facepalm**
If you don’t want “noise” in your gym..WHY are you providing chalk AND Olympic bars AND bumper plates AND a deadlift platform. Maybe the owner should rebrand as a planet fitness..or hire a staff that understands how gyms operate OR get rid of your bumper plates and deadlift platform and stop pretending to be a gym.

I met my new Gym Family here in 2020!
This is where I trained to bring home 11awards this past November from the NPC Natural Indianapolis! They have personal trainers to fit your every need. They have a Kid's Club for my little boy. They have awesome extra classes for a great cardio workout, like Spin Classes and Kickboxing for example. World Gym has saunas for extra health benefits, an awesome selection of free weights, super friendly and helpful staff, free tanning and all the machine workouts you could want! The people here quickly become family. I look forward to working out here every day. I couldn't ask for a better gym!

Thank goodness this gym is independently owned so it can stand its ground as long as possible while everyone else isn't open for business. It's the little things that count. I understand many people have been going through withdrawals during this global disaster and one way to combat it is getting some weights or cardio in to start or end the day, not to mention keeping those developed muscle fibers in peak condition. All it takes is a few weeks to lose it! If I had to nitpick, their hours could be synchronized with what I see here on Google... and I guess hours could be extended by one or two on the weekends.
Then again this night owl wouldn't know what the place is like during the day so take my suggestion with a grain of salt. The actual gripes I have with this gym come with all the 'dude bros' in groups of 3-5 who hog a lot of weight stack equipment. Some yell and drop 200 pounds of iron on the floor. I digress. My month membership just expired and I had a mostly pleasant and... slightly unusual experience. I'd definitely come back another month if my usual gym keeps staying closed. This is because they don't have the fortitude to open like everyone else and insist on keeping us in the dark. Not World Gym, though. The staff members are knowledgeable and have a cheery disposition.
I came here not only because it was open when others weren't, but also because I know four people who are members and have praised it. In the past month two have been seen, looked for a third. Hey, Gracie L, how's that progress coming? Miss ya! Oh, yes... up in the previous paragraph the adjective 'unusual' was brought up. The weights differ from World Gym and my usual spot which is highly peculiar. It's their solid iron versus fake weights at the other guys perhaps.

Amazing gym geared towards weightlifting. Lots of machines, free weights, and floor space, as well as several treadmills, a couple stair climbers, a few exercise bikes and ellipticals. There are lots of different classes available, nice clean locker rooms with saunas and showers, a smoothie bar, tanning, and a daycare center. Excellent member services and staff. I highly recommend doing a free trial.

Armando is one of the group fitness instructors there and he is magnificent. Great motivation skills. Really pushes you and makes sure you're doing things the right way. Friendly environment. Child care is available there! Which is AMAZING for moms like me. Very clean. So glad I joined!

This was a great gym. I was in South Bend, IN for work and was looking for a good gym and this place was perfect. It had an old school feel but all the perfect equipment you need for a great workout. The staff was friendly especially the 2 beauties working the front desk. I'll definitely be back best gym in the area hands down. Thanks World Gym for a great experience.

I liked that I am always greeted by name when I come into the building. Becka is my trainer and she has always been a sweetheart. When she is done with me my body is always on point. The atmosphere is good. I always feel comfortable and at ease whenever I am working out. Luv the place!!!!.

Lady owner seemed disrespectful to both employees and customers. Needs updated. The building seems worse for the wear, with buckets set on the floor to catch drips from the ceiling. The area is dangerous-car theft, breakins, etc. Tried it for a week and decided against it.
