My 7-year-old daughter at the time was assaulted by staff at the old Y (he was found guilty), and the Y failed to vet staff thoroughly, had no working cameras(werenβt working well enough!) and never apologizedβone manager didnβt even believed it happened which is sick! Now I see my review was taken down, but parents deserve to know before trusting their kids here. Donβt care how it makes your establishment look, my child and I donβt appreciate having to have a traumatic memory from a horrible incident like that! You donβt get to just sweep that under the rug because it doesnβt fit a certain image! I had been going for 5 years prior just fine, knew most everyone without any issue. The Y brings in enough money/donations that investing in proper staff, vetting them, and having camera systems in place should have been top priority even at the old Y. Lack of care caused this to happen! Take my review down again, Iβll put it right back up!

We withdrew our children from the Lafayette Family YMCA's OST (Out-of-School-Time) program after multiple troubling incidents involving staff behavior. Our concerns were serious and clearly documented in emails to YMCA leadership, including their Vice President of Operations and CEO.
Staff members:
Told our young child during a tornado drill that βthe tornado is going to eat you,β causing him to cry.
Repeatedly used inappropriate language around the children.
Mocked our daughterβs name in front of others by calling her β Fart.β
Despite multiple formal complaints, YMCA leadership refused to separate our children from the staff involved or confirm that any corrective action was taken. Instead, we were told staff βcollaborate throughout the dayβ and were encouraged to consider whether the program was the right βfitβ for our family β without addressing the misconduct itself.
This is not about being βsensitive.β Itβs about expecting professional, respectful behavior from adults entrusted with childrenβs care. We have since filed a formal complaint with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.
I hope no other family experiences what we went through.

Iβm extremely disappointed with how I was treated at this YMCA. As a mother of two young children, I expect a family-friendly environment where I can care for my kids without being singled out or shamed.
While at the pool supervising my 5-year-old, my 1-year-old became fussy, so I sat at the edge of the pool to breastfeed him β exactly where I needed to be to safely watch my daughter, as required by the YMCAβs own rules. A lifeguard approached me and told me I wasnβt allowed to breastfeed there because of βhealth hazards,β and that I had to get out of the pool.
Letβs be clear: breastfeeding is protected by law in public spaces, including swimming pools. Breast milk is not a health hazard, and I was doing absolutely nothing wrong. I felt publicly embarrassed for trying to meet the basic needs of my baby and keep both of my children safe in a challenging moment.
Itβs unacceptable that staff are not properly trained on breastfeeding rights. No parent should be put in the position of choosing between comforting their baby and following pool safety rules for their other child.
The YMCA should do better. I hope this serves as a wake-up call to provide proper education to staff so that breastfeeding mothers are respected, not harassed or shamed.
Families deserve better than this.

Erin that works at this creasy facility here is extremely rude and unprofessional. The kids were playing with a football in the pool and she got upset that it went into the other pool lane when no one was in there. (There was only three families here today so not busy at all). She kept harassing the kids I had with me about super silly things. I would highly suggest management do something about her arrogance, Iβm not the only one that complains about this lady!

This Y provides great value for its members and has been doing well lately in updating its offerings. I very much enjoyed taking pilates reformer classes with Mary and Kamie, they are personable and great instructors. The program is a great value and I hope it continues to flourish. I also have really enjoyed Maryamβs Friday zumba classes, she brings great energy and cares about all her students and creating a welcoming and fun environment for all.

This place is a joke, we used to have a membership, decided we didnβt use it enough so we canceled. I paid the $10 each for my family to swim occasionally, this year we tried to go and they raised the price to $25 per person, this is absolutely disgusting and shows they are not here for the community.

110% unimpressed! Every single locker room I've ever been in has always been 5+ must use their own gender locker. So my husband took my boys and I took the girls through designated locker rooms. Lifeguard came up to me with an extremely disheartening tone telling me "get there stuff out of those locker rooms RIGHT NOW!!" before I even had a chance to say anything walked away. We were not told at sign up this was the case.

This place is amazing! My Nuerosurgions office is located insude this building and we where early to my appointment so decided instead if waiting in waiting room we would take a tour. I am still in aw of all they have and offer. The pool is my favorite. It has a walk down ramp to enter if you want that is wide enough to take a wheel chair down it. Talked to some nice ladies that where water walking which I love! They told us that because there is also physical therapy located at this location they use the pool and many other things at the facility for ohysucal therapy patients. I currently have to do physical therapy but went to a place closer to my home and they do not have a pool π or some of the other things mine does not. They have a walking/running track around the top of the basketball court. The track is squishy lol to absorb some if the pressure on your feet as you walk. In my opinion please do not take this as fact bit you could probably even wear comfortable cheap tennis shoes abd this track would absorb the shock from the worst if shoes. Just MY personal opinion. The offer kiddy care for thise that have a family pass so you can take little ones and not have to find a baby sitter but still can get your work out in. I could go on and on about this place but that would be to much to read and type. Trust me just go take a tour and they allow you 3 free passes to try out the facility. They offer day passes after that as well as monthly and yearly memberships.

I come here to use the pool and sauna. A lot of times in a year, the pool has been closed. When it is reopened, the pool closed at 7 pm. For a person who is just free after 5:30 pm, it is not possible to use the pool and sauna. The key is I find a lot of members trying to use sauna around 6:30 and 7 pm. There is still a high demand for the pool and sauna to open until 9 pm like before. I'm not sure what the issue is to close swimming pool and sauna so early. Also the Kid Zone hour is very limited. If your kids walk in the lobby for drinking water or restroom without you, you will be picked and warned very tough and bossy voice. Since I experienced these inconveniences, I feel discriminated as a parent. So I find this is not great for the members with kids. Service could have been a lot better in a polite and better management. we are not quite happy visiting here anymore.

Fantastic facility. Great equipment, great environment. Have to knock off two stars because of the pool situation though. The Y should have automatically refunded members partial refunds for the pool being closed. It's inexcusable that they did not.
