When we first got a subscription to this gym we let them know we would be moving within a certain timeframe we were told that's ok that they could waive the cancellation fee and that was a lie and the employee told us that he never said any of it and tried gaslighting us and they kept calling us non stop and trying to get us to get upgrades when we had the subscription and without authorization they cancelled our account and charged $200 on our card we got our money back through the bank and blocked them from ever charging us anymore again this felt less like a gym and more like a scam

I don't know if Travis is still the owner but he was very very creepy on my wife and absolutely rude and unprofessional about addressing broken equipment that he refused to fix.
His daddy built him a business and he refuses to have a work ethic and a care for anybody but himself.

Christian is great. While it's a group training, every person gets individualized training too on form. Also exercises are personalized to the person's ability, taking into account if you have injuries or areas of concern. I encourage anyone to consider small group training! The range of exercises are a whole body workout!

When staff is in, they are Amazing! Helpful, encouraging, and supportive. The evolt machine is wonderful for my mental health. Didn't lose a lb my first month, but I Did lose 2 lbs of fat and gained 2 lbs of muscle, and the Evolt machine was able to show me that and really stopped the scale frustration.

The marion location does not fix equipment. The owner called me at work and spazed because after 3 months of a machine being broken I requested the machine actually be fixed.
They have no concept of other people's time or others having a job. The owner and the manager act like children who never learned to manage things, people, or work.
They have no concept of integrity, or the basics of customer service.
Politely talking to people is beyond the capabilities of those who simply blame each other for not ever calling in repairs.
The owner also talks in a derogatory manner about women "picking up chicks at menards" was actually something i had to endure before i bought sound cancelling headphones. I hope they canned him. T.s. were his initials, avoid him and all his tantrums.

My husband signed up for this location and was here for many months until the employees started calling him a liar. They wouldn’t believe him when he told them about his nutrition or the fact that he didn’t want a trainer. They will push the trainer on you every month and make you meet up with them for no reason. Not only that when they have you sign the contract they don’t go through it and skip the part where if you want to quit you have to pay 250 dollars. My husband pays monthly and has never skipped a payment so it’s outrageous that a place makes you pay to leave as well. We tried contacting anytime fitness to see if anything could be done about the workers harassing my husband, but you can’t get through to anyone. Save your money and go someplace else that will actually care about you.

My husband and I joined Anytime and this is one of the cleanest Anytime Fitness locations in Cedar Rapids/Marion. It's evident that Travis takes pride in his facility. Kavin is always personable and makes an effort to ask how our day is. I love that tanning is included and I'm addicted to the Full Body Water Massager. I really like that we can use any facility across the country. We recently were camping in Tucson and I desperately wanted a shower and headed to Tucson's anytime for a quick workout and shower.

This space has been such an eye opener on how much further one can push themselves on their fitness journey. The staff always welcome you with a warm Hello. Any questions you may have they are eager to answer. I recently had the opportunity to have a 1 on 1 consultation with Alison. She helped demonstrate machines that I believe to be intimidating. Leaving that session left me with a much more open mind and confidence to step further out of my comfort zone. I joined this gym very excited and with every intention of going to get in shape but alot of things happened thanks to the pandemic I never once used my membership so I decided to cancel, as a single mom I can't afford to just continue paying for service I won't use. I was told that I would still have to pay half of what was left which seems really unfair to me. But with a good conversation with Travis (the owner) we were able to work it out and compromise with something that worked for us both! The people are great and the facility is nice but when I pay for a service I expect to get it. The gym was closed for a week and yet I won’t be compensated for a week off the bill? I don’t think that’s fair at all. If I order a meal and receive half of it wouldn’t you expect to pay the restraint half the price? This is my fault however, I guess it’s written in the contract that they can be closed for up to two weeks a year. So, I’ll be doing what I can to move my money to another location for the remainder of my contract if that’s how they want to play it.

It may be 24-7, but the office staff make it incredibly tough for you to drop your membership. I used both locations so they transferred my membership to the other location which is very tough for me to visit during the day. Not to mention when I tried to leave the other location I had to go through what essentially amounted to an exit interview, almost like trying to walk away from a cult. Marion's Anytime Fitness is a great facility and has even better people. Travis and Derek are the biggest supporters of all of their members. The facility is clean and has updated equipment. They're always adding new and different things like a tire flip and resistance sled. Travis and Derek both are great personal trainers and lead group fitness classes. Travis owns many of the anytime fitness gyms in the area and does a fantastic job of ensuring membership is based on who is a good fit so that all members feel comfortable. It's such a wonderful gym! Getting a membership March 2019 at Anytime Fitness in Marion has been the best decision I've made!! In the past, I used a different gym and just felt like another fly on the wall. I lost all motivation to go to the gym after a couple months. Derek and Travis are the biggest supporters of EVERYONE..greets you when you walk in by name and a hi five. Members have the best attitudes towards each other-- genuinely pushing you to succeed and reach your goals. The equipment is top notch, very clean facility and always willing to answer any questions you may have.
They offer group classes numerous times a week and are always switching up the classes to keep it interesting.

So I headed to the Anytime Fitness I selected on the site to check it out. There was later an email saying they’d schedule an appointment, but I was just an ignorant customer who wanted to spend some money and get in a workout. So, based on the message above I headed over. When I arrived there was a sign saying the staff was gone for training and an email of how to reach them. There weren’t any office hours posted, so I wanted to email and inquire how to proceed. I was copying down the email when a guy came out of the gym and told me I shouldn’t be there and needed an appointment. I said I was trying to figure out the hours and didn’t get any of that information when I signed up. The guy got more aggressive so I left and emailed to the address on the building about the challenges. Granted at this point I wasn’t having the best experience with Anytime Fitness and the email reflected it. That said I wasn’t prepared for the response from the franchise owner. So if you like to be belittled and deal with an agro gym culture this could be the place for you.

Our hours are posted online and we close at 4pm on Friday’s. They were also posted somewhere on the same page you signed up a free trial. They’re also on Facebook and Google.

I’m sure the “bro” was just looking out for the club as our members are an extension of staff as they do not allow anyone in unchecked. It is a major safety issue for us and the member help us with this by taking pride in their center.

As for the free trial, we make certain to make confirmed appointments, but staff was in ongoing training today out of town.

Might I suggest you wait to hear from staff in the future with a confirmed time before visiting. That way we could guarantee that we were ready for your visit.

We don’t “loose” customers; as I assume you meant lose customers. We are very cautious in who we allow inside, and if you’re attitude seems to be this sarcasm and rude over an email I honestly don’t want your business.

Although I miss and prefer the old location, the new location is adequate. With two exceptions: 1) The quirky signs all over the place are flat-out annoying. I don't need a "wash your hands" or "please wipe down the machines signs" to be any more elaborately worded than necessary. 2) The motion-activated lights constantly turning on and off within the location give it a shifty vibe/appearance. I understand the desire to be "green," but there should be practical limits. Just go LED and call it good there. LED lights are super cheap to the point that motion-activation is not really necessary.

I love this facility. I was a member at the Y and Aspen before but never felt comfortable at Aspen and got tired of always having to wait for equipment at the Y. I am a larger woman trying to become healthy again. I love the atmosphere here at the gym and the staff is always helpful and friendly when I am here during staffed hours.
