Love this Y. Itβs always clean, staff is friendly. I love they they have multiple workout areas. Iβm not a huge fan of weaving in and out of people to go workout but there are a few smaller areas that I can go to get my workout in. I also like that o have the track option or the treadmill option. At my old gym I felt like I was always waiting for a stairmaster, not at the his gym, there are a ton of them. Iβve never once had to wait for one!

Swim lessons are a complete joke. A child pooped in the pool, and I was very concerned with their method of dealing with the situation and cleaning it. They really are not watching kids well at all during swimming and playtime after lessons. Very concerned regarding general safety.
Edit: changing review to 1 star because they changed their terms and conditions to cancel memberships. I bet everyone is canceling membership now that the summer is over.

I would not send you kiddos to summer camp at this location. The onsite director is rude and disrespectful to parents. She thinks she pretty important. I tried to get her name but the employees at the front desk donβt even know her. Sheβs not as important as she thinks.
I am trying to change my sonβs camp location as I donβt want this type of person engaging with my child. I was given two phone numbers for higher ups. Neither phone number works. Camp instructions were sent a week after camp started. I would look elsewhere if you and your child want to have a good summer camp experience!

I recently had a worst experience with the YMCA that left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. The customer service I encountered this time was far below the standard I expected. The so called executive director Louis is unreachable!!!
The issue began when I tried to resolve a wrong allegation, the representative was dismissive and unhelpful, offering no solution.
Whatβs most frustrating is that the YMCA prides itself on community and values, but this experience felt completely disconnected from those principles. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and a general disregard for member concerns have left me questioning whether I want to continue my membership.
I hope the YMCA takes this feedback seriously and works to improve its customer service. A great facility is only as good as the people who represent it, and right now, that aspect is severely lacking.
Update: Louis not witnessing anything strongly alleges. Others have to wake up to not use cheap membership and changing the people in that authority.

Ridiculous they don't monitor their own full court basketball ball rules. YOU MAKE THE RULES you should follow them. Mid-day on a Sunday you can't get to a hoop with your son because there are grown adults playing a full court game. One of the full courters even ran into me because I had my back turned. Why do I pay you hundreds of dollars a year for a membership if it's going to be like this? Ridiculous. I'm not the only one complaining. Needs to be addressed now.

I like going to this YMCA cause of all the gym equipment, Eldridge's doesn't have that much equipment.
It's big, bathrooms are clean - shoutout to the cleaning lady cause she does the work all by herself.
Now, guys...imma have to hold you accountable for paying attention. Last week, I went to the gym without scanning my device or having a person ask for my info. Granted, I went in an hour before closing, but anyway, your younger staff needs to pay attention to who goes in the building.
Oh, and to answer your question, I am a paying customer.
Again, though, make sure you talk to the younger staff and let them know they can't be on their phones when working. People depend on them for their safety.

What a joke!!!
Why have a kids pool if your kids canβt swim in either of them because they are 6?!?
Kids canβt dip their toes in the hot tub?
The worst part is how rude the lifeguards were to the children. Donβt work with kids if you cannot be kind.
This was a test to see if we wanted to buy a membership again.
Can say for sure we wonβt spend a dime, or support the YMCA again

The staff at this YMCA is amazing! They are friendly and helpful. The entire facility is always clean and well maintained. The staff seems to keep the 'latchkey kids' under control. Too many times, the younger, unsupervised seem to disrupt things.
I like the walking track and use it on the very cold and foul weather days. Thanks Y!

This place is a joke. I asked for a personal trainer session & was told sure yeah you qualify for it.
Just to have this so called trainer come around and saw nah, I can't offer you training. Excuse me! When I pay for it, you're gonna help me, whether you like it or not. However, low and behold. The next week, an older lady was getting training.
Smh, by the time I get that age, I won't need training.

Newer equipment, nice track. Pool has very few lap lanes and is usually kind of warm? For my liking. Sometimes the track is overrun by seniors crowding all 3 lanes (love that theyβre having a good time getting some exercise, but maybe there should be a senior track hour?) It would probably be better for both runners/fast walkers and the seniors getting nearly knocked over by the fast lane folks.

Over the last year the YMCA removed an entire basketball court and added machines for cross fitters (same machines in the normal gym without the green carpet) that maybe 20 people use throughout the whole day. The YMCA then went and removed another court and allowed Badminton reserved hours and in all about 10-20 people play during that time. Now the Director has inacted a summer rule where he leaves the end hoops up in the remaining courts because suposedly people have complained that there is no room when people play full courts. First, the basketball courts are dead every evening with literally only 10 people accross the 2 remainng courts, we should be able to play full court. Second, the YMCA literally caused the issue and have catered to certain groups to try and get unique guests into the Y while ignoring their longest and most committed customers. Third, why are certain complaints given precedent over others, why is it that basketball players continue to get reduced and trampled on? When there are people playing full court and you get more customers then you do with the new side gym you built (even though that equipment existed in other parts of the gym) and the badminton play. All customers pay to get in, but some customers get specialized equipment wants fullfilled and are allowed reserved play.
There needs to be a fair esclation and complaint path- and can't be one person deciding and favoring for the few. I want to formally complain that the larger group of people cant play basketball on the court when a handfull of people are playing badminton and want to formally compalin that you made a gym that very few people use and that the larger group can play basketball on it anymore. Please enforce.

We play basketball regularly, but continue to get restricted on how we play on a regular basis to the point that we can't play full court basketball anymore. I use the gym, people leave a mess and no one restricts people there, the pool and locker rooms are always filthy and no one restricts use of it. Can the 6 people at the desk help maintain rather then pushing rules down to your customers? We are expected to manage all users of the court or the entire full court basketball community gets punished. There is nowhere to play full court even if we have the people to use the whole court. Why does the entire basketball community get punished and we have to accommodate 1 or 2 people who are complaining? You have limited number of machines and people share and if not available gym users aren't accommodated by rules limiting use of certain machines then why do that with the basketball courts? The direction the site Director is taking this is not for the good and needs to accommodate all viewpoints which also includes people who want to play full court basketball. The site Director needs to lower the end courts and let all customers enjoy the facilities they are paying for. No one shared these arbitrary opinion and rules when I signed the membership form- the Director is a fitness guy who uses the gym and ensures they are taken care off, we need someone to speak fairly for the athletic community.

Been going to this ymca for about 10 years it was the best ymca until recently. They put up the hoops on each side of the courts so no full court can be played all day even after the kids camp has left. Told people that they need to stop the arguing keep shirts on and clean up which was done and still got the full court privileges taken away. Management has clearly made it clear they donβt want certain races of people coming to their establishmentβ¦ not to be the guy who brings up race but thatβs the only explanation that I can think ofβ¦ told us the only days the full court will be down is Tuesday and Thursday which is the days the mainly Caucasian older males play but as soon as they all leave the rims go right back upβ¦. Just sucks especially with the shortage of places with the space to play full in the qc. Hopefully this will be resolved soon

Tried swimming lessons at this location and it was a joke. Class was canceled twice without a heads up, so I drove all the way there for nothing. Instructors did no call no shows, so they had to combine classes and put my 4 year old in a large pool with no swimming experience. Trying to receive a refund was impossible. Locker rooms were disgusting. Very hard to find a parking location, so parking in the back of the lot with 4 young kids was tough.

Our granddaughter had a room rented for a birthday party but they gave the room to another group after she had rented weeks before. So they set up a gym up stairs, so the first half hour was watching them find tables and chairs to accommodate the birthday party that was reserved. I don't think I will be back, they did have plenty of excuses. The people running to set up the room did good. It wasn't a good start to a party when it started a half hour late and the tension in the room wasn't a happy one. The half effort by the management was noticed by all attendees. Their excuse was the person who took the reservation and promised the room reservation didn't work there anymore. But at the end of the party I did hear that they over charged for their mistake.

Don't waste your money let alone ask for a refund because it's not gonna happen, even when you do talk to upper management. Make sure you ask for a copy of your agreement that you sign too because apparently they wont give you a copy unless you ask for it! If you want to cancel your membership, you have to give them 15 day notice IN WRITING. Never heard of such a thing to cancel a membership! Their pool is always cold, jacuzzi typically not running how it should, no towels to clean equipment, basketball court always taken and dirty changing areas. Would never suggest this facility to a single person, let alone a family!

I usually do EGym and swimming. I like the fact that you can do both there under one roof. But several things that can be improved: cleanliness of the locker rooms (see picture; I'm sure this is not just from one day), EGym capacity (it is often busy and you have to wait to get a spot), and lastly the heating of the pool was recently broken. Also the big water slide is never open.

I give the staff credit for doing their best, but the membership has outgrown this facility. Infrastructure and equipment can't handle the stress. The pool has potential for 6 lap lanes but typically has 3 or 4 lanes open. When lap swimmers swim for over an hour the lanes fill up quickly and stay full.

Love the pool and track, and most of the folks at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. My gripe is with the condition of the women's locker room, particularly the showers. Honestly, I've got to wonder when any of them were last cleaned - particularly the showers on the ends of the row. Disgusting hardly covers it. Won't go into detail. Suffice to say, never be without shower shoes anywhere in the locker room. Also, no soup in dispenser

Not a fan. The membership is too expensive considering something you need is always broken. Day passes for a single day are half the cost of a monthly membership which makes no sense to me. You would think the employees would get paid more too since they are saving on repair costs from not repairing anything or hiring an adequate amount of staff. I've cancelled my membership but when I did go, the women's restroom in the weight lifting area never had soap either.

First and last experience at this ymca. Decided to step out my comfort zone and give a new Ymca a try if you like any sort of space when you workout I would not recommend. Had my small workout bag in front of me while working out a very entitled race, instead of asking me to move it, or saying excuse me or even a slight gesture to know I was in his way picked up my bag and THREW IT! to the point where my towel and water bottle were in the middle of the floor! I went to the front desk, some of the ladies were very nice and comforting which I appreciate - the manager on duty was not as nice, she called her supervisor and told me there was nothing they could do about it since there was no cameras in there and it was βhis word against mineβ. Insanity. Paid a years advance and will be asking about a refund after the holiday weekend and taking my money elsewhere!!

Great gym, but some members definitely don't follow the whole be nice part of the membership. I watched an older man berate a mother and son, throw his goggles across the pool area, and then argue with the lifeguard. And then his wife had the audacity to also try to berate the mom. All because a child came in "his" lane in the pool. And his mother stood up for him when this man got belingerent and acted like a child.

Not so great if your looking more to do lap swimming since they're short on lifeguards all the time plus too many people doing lap swims where it's hard to have one for yourself & then you have to share if other people are waiting but if all the other lap lanes already have 2 people in them then you have to wait that much longer & if there's no lifeguards on duty then your locked out & have to go back home or find something else to do there. Not worth the money in my opinion.

I go to the YMCA in Bettendorf to swim because I have a painful foot deformity and just had heel surgery. After swimming 45 minutes in an empty lane, I briefly did some water jogging and stretching near the deep end but where I could still touch as this alleviates pain in the heel. A lifeguard approached me and told me I wasn't allowed to water exercise there and could only jog or walk in the shallow end otherwise I had to leave the swim lane. She sarcastically announced that she would not kick me out this time. This same lifeguard booted another gentleman out of his swim lane who was swimming slowly because of a knee surgery and stood in the lane for a moment. Meanwhile two older adults took his lane and proceeded to just walk back and forth and talk. The lifeguard said nothing to them. Very inconsistent on "rules" that really don't make any sense if you are trying to swim laps and take a brief break. Swimmers are capable of sharing lanes and respecting everyone's space, but singling out people genuinely trying to swim and recover from surgery or injury, while ignoring others who are clearly not swimming in a swim lane is wrong and disrespectful. Really bad attitude lifeguard who seems very unhappy working at the YMCA.

Love this place. Great staff(Jessica, Braxton, and Mauricio).
Only small part don't agree on is the daycare using the big basketball courts when they have 2 whole basketball courts to use and forces us paying customers to share one basketball court. Rather than that it's a much better YMCA than North YMCA and the new downtown YMCA.
