The main areas of the plex are rented out. They do have a lot of activities you can do but I mainly want to use the field house. From 5-9pm the field house is rented out for the entire winter so you can't go use it but that's the only time most people can go on tbe weekdays. Its also rented out the entire winter on Sunday from 9am to 9pm. So take your 60 bucks a month and just throw it in the trash it would be the same if you plan to actually use the fieldhouse.

I think it's pretty stupid you can't even use the turf because cedar valley soccer and leagues book the entire night and whole days. So 60 a month if you want to play soccer is not worth it for this place. (Maybe for just machines?) Just play in you house and/or apartment it would be the same. I think it's unfair these organizations can rent out the entire thing because they are money hungry cough sportsplex. So dont bother wanting to come and free kick or practice your soccer skills. From 5pm to close every night it's rented out! THATS THE ONLY TIME PEOPLE CAN COME IF THEY WORK! Ridiculous I hope they fix this issue soon or waterloo builds more complexes for soccer!

We are about to host a 3rd Birthday party at the SportsPlex and are currently in swimming lessons here. For years this has remained a clean, safe, FUN place for our whole family and it's such a nice indoor activity center in our community! The staff answers every phone call and question promptly.

We used to really enjoy going here to walk the track. I took my younger daughters, (I was always present with them) but updated policy was nobody under 16 was allowed on the second level. So only people over 16 should learn to exercise, lift weights and be healthy??? Very disappointed in this "family friendly Center".

Nice facility but they need more air flow in the treadmill areas and the pool was terribly designed. Should have just been a normal lap pool so you're not trying to share 3 lanes.

Good Resources in the track to run on and they've recent added a few more machines. The plates are severely out of date and they weigh different amounts for the same plate. The hour change on the weekend from 6-7am is horrible! I cannot workout before my work shift and you close at 4 so you're closed before I get off. I'll need to find a gym that prioritizes equipment and flexible hours. 7-4 on the weekend is quite ridiculous!

Leader Valley has hosted two family nights at the Cedar Valley SportsPlex. We've had over 500 people in attendance and have asked them to host all kinds of activities from inflatables to photo booths. The staff has been absolutely fantastic to work with, and the space is big enough that it never feels crowded!

I decided to give the SportsPlex 1 star due to the poor customer service (specifically upon entry), dirty bathrooms that rarely get cleaned since the soap dispenser has not had soap in it for over a month, it is very poorly looked after, and you can tell that it does not get cleaned enough. The staff does not care about who enters the gym and uses the facility. I am a paying member at this gym, and it frustrates me to see people coming into the gym without having to pay either a daily fee or without a membership. It is obvious that the staff do not monitor the upstairs part of the gym considering how many children under the age of 16 are up there. It is common that children are up there disturbing people working out and walking the wrong way on the track, etc. Upon entry there is no greeting, and the staff are extremely dismissive. It is sad that this gym has gone in the direction that it did because there is so much potential. If there were more gyms, I was aware of in the area I would go there rather.

Went to the Cedar Valley Sportsplex last weekend for the 1st time for an adult volleyball co-ed volleyball tournament. At first glance it looked nice, but I was mistaken. I have multiple things I disliked about this place. First is that there is a design flaw of this facility; there is a space behind the stands where they store bleachers. Balls often fly behind the stands, then someone has to go around the stands and crawl their way through spare bleachers to retrieve the ball. It happened very often since the stands are extremely close to the court. We wasted so much time doing that. That leads me to my 2nd gripe with the layout of this facility. When there are 4 volleyball courts, there is very minimal room to serve on either side! Maybe 3 ft max (see photos). You can only do a standing serve and pretty much always end up stepping over the service line. This is by far the smallest amount of room to serve Iβve ever seen in any facility that has volleyball courts. My 3rd gripe with the cedar valley SportsPlex is the food/beverage options. The concession stands were not open and I wanted to purchase a beverage, so I went to the vending machines. The vending machines are the very old kind that do not take cards. They only accept $1 bills, $5 bills, or quarters. They did have an ATM available, but it only dispenses $20 bills. I went to the front desk to ask if they would break up a $20 bill if I got cash from the ATM, since the vending machine does not accept $20 bills. Their response was βwell our ATM is actually broken right nowβ¦ sorry about thatβ. So if you donβt have cash, youβre SOL if you want to buy a snack or beverage without leaving the facility. For those reasons, I was not very impressed with the Cedar Valley SportsPlex.

This place has all you need. Two great, massive soccer/American football fields, lockers, weight lifting room, treadmill room, two tennis/volleyball courts, one track field, and a swimming pool with lap swim and waterslides. The track field is very nice, it has a lane for jogging and one for walking. You can look out of the wide windows while jogging. The pool is very cheap and is good for kids. The gym is in great condition. Would recommend getting monthly pass if you are planning to go there often.

Twice in a two week span Iβve realized they arenβt putting cleaning solution/sanitizer in the spray bottles that are used to clean the gym equipment and the yoga mats in the fitness studio. It was addressed the first time by a manager but I guess not everyone got the memo. This is a health violation and incredibly unsanitary. If that wasnβt enough, every touch surface seems to be covered in dust, fingerprints, spilled sports drinks, food crumbs, hair, dirt etcβ¦ yes, with the amount of people that are there daily itβs going to happen, but folks, itβs been WEEKS that Iβve seen the same messes. Unacceptable. As a public space they have a duty to their patrons to ensure the facilities are clean and sanitary, not only that, itβs the law.

A massive exercise/sports center in Waterloo. Has large track, really neat swimming pool w/water slide and lazy river, full-sized courts, multiple exercise rooms with well-stocked equipment, and exercise classrooms. A great benefit to the community.

Great facility! Nice walking track and weight / aerobic machines upstairs. Basketball and indoor soccer.
The pool water is a little warm for lap swimming. Also, no drinking fountain by the pool. The lap swim schedule is pretty limited. I know they have trouble with staffing, but it is a shame to see the pool empty and locked up tight so much of the time!

They are very informative of the business at the front desk which is important. What Iβve seen is clean and they have many different exercise and activities available for every age. From water aerobics to just walking on the indoor track. Beware of starting a membership at the end or middle of the month as theyβre fees are a tad bit ridiculous. Limited Evening Hours! The facility is terrific, a great addition to Waterloo. However, the evening hours, especially during their 'summer schedule' (April 1 - October 31) are a joke. They close at 7:00 on Friday, and 4:00 on the weekends! I mean c'mon!?

$8 for a day pass isn't bad at all. AND they offer FREE public locker room (just bring a padlock and don't leave anything over night) so many gyms I've visited are club only for change rooms. Haven't been here enough times to provide any insight on scheduling accuracy. I'll just say the schedule for the gym posted online stated free open gym for non members before I checked it out and upon arrival I had free reign of the court just like the online schedule stated. I will be back!

Staff is always very friendly, having the childcare is a necessity for me so glad they have it. Wish they offered more for swimming lessons as they don't have many evening or weekend classes and those fill up almost as soon as they are posted.
I keep hoping one of these facilities will offer a kids fitness class of some kind too.

This place is a most welcome addition to the city of Waterloo. Modern, well-equipped, and large. However, the pool hours, and times for lap swimming are rather pathetic!
Edit: They seem to rent out the entire facility or the entire first floor (including courts/fields) for parties, closing it for dues-paying members. This happened two evenings in a short period recently. The evening hours are not as good as I would like.

Rates are too high for the hours available. They really should be 24 hours. Not super thrilled with the facility being rented out for schools and events when it denies paying members access to the facility they are renting. I get it when itβs a conference room or a court or a tournament- but they can rent whatever as a team for practice and so on. So then thereβs a schedule and Iβm not down with that. I want to lift while my daughter can play but- for $75 a week and she canβt access her areas of choice and my schedule canβt be considered- itβs not worth it. And the pool has way too much goin on. They need another area for the group aquatic activities so the members can still access the pool. And the billing. Either you pay upfront for several months or you have to have a bank account. Sadly thereβs a lot of people who canβt have a bank account and really why should anyone be forced to use a bank when we could pay in cash monthly. If you know anything about immigration or divorce or identity fraud youβd know this is not ok. Aside from the charity- this is basically another ymca. Otherwise itβs clean... I guess. I mean really how dirty can a gym get though?
