Subpar review is regarding the cancellation policy. Just sharing for awareness. Quick background: Freezing the account at a reduced rate to keep it open for a period of known inactivity incurs a lower monthly fee. Not ideal, but an arguable business practice. The problem: Cancelling the account while it is frozen, their policy is to charge you another month of service automatically at the normal rate (not even at the lower frozen rate). You have to give them advance notice. Also an arguable business practice, but that one's shady.

Did an intro class today and really enjoyed it! The instructor Jaq was amazing! She did a great job explaining in detail the different moves offering suggestions to those who needed it.
They weren’t pushy at all. They explained their different packages and then were open to any questions we had. I signed up for a membership and can’t wait to explore the different classes they offer.

I have been going to Club Pilates for over 2 years now and I never get boated with it. I love how it makes me feel both physically and mentally! All of the teachers teach a little different and all of them awesome! I certainly have my favs but I won’t mention them, they know who they are! I have done multiple classes with Jenn. Center and Balance class today was filled with new things. It really touched muscles I needed to stretch. Very good. Her TRX classes are challenging and fun!!! The Restore classes work on trigger points. Having been a massage/body-worker, I know how painful they can be. But, getting them released can be sooooo good in restoring blood, nutrients, and oxygen back to those muscles. Trigger Point Therapy is one of the best healing modalities. I am so glad Club Pilates offers the Restore classes. Jenn is knowledgeable and helpful in addressing your specific needs.

I had my free intro session with Melissa and it was fantastic! I immediately felt welcome, she was reassuring that she didn't expect us to know what to do right away and she was there to help us. She explained everything patiently and kept an upbeat tone that made the workout feel like a breeze. I was having such a great time I was actually surprised when we were done and my legs were shaking. I would absolutely recommend giving Club Pilates a try if you are interested in doing a low stress workout that is interesting, fun and still challenging.

I was disappointed by how the instructor, Chong S. treated me in class. Hoping for a supportive and inclusive environment. Unfortunately, my experience with this instructor was the opposite. In every class I attended of hers I felt singled out—constantly corrected even when my form was correct, while other participants (who struggled more visibly) were overlooked.
The adjustments felt excessive, unnecessary, and at times demeaning, as if the goal wasn’t to help me improve but to make me feel unwelcome. The lack of space to adjust or breathe, compared to how others were treated, made me question whether I was being targeted. By the end of each session, I left feeling discouraged, out of place, and even considered walking out.
I was especially disappointed to see her as the substitute instructor in my final class, as I’d hoped to end my time there on a positive note. Pilates should empower, not alienate—especially in spaces where representation matters. I won’t be returning to her classes.

I really enjoy taking Selena’s Center & Balance class once a week towards the end of each week. She has a relaxed and calming voice that guides us through breathing and stretching exercises to help our bodies reset! It’s a great class for the body while bringing peace to the mind!
I appreciate that both Emily and Teresa do a thorough job of explaining how to perform each exercise and encourage rhythmic breathing. What they ask us to do is challenging and yet reasonable. I appreciate them both very much leading our classes!

Won't be back to this location ☹️ I expect to be able to trust the trainers with the workouts they give us because I don't know what I'm doing in the gym. Every studio I've been to I left feeling super pumped.
Not this one the next day my knee was all messed up from all the ball squats we did. They need more substitute exercises for overweight people. Or don't say beginner classes are for any and everyone.

This place is a joke. You don't get a good workout sometimes barely sweat. If you're past the age of 50 perhaps this place is more for you.
The customer service though is what led me to write this review. One of the instructors was SO rude. I was told I could level up to a 1.5 class and she constantly made comments about how I couldn't do something because I was new or I wasn't used to doing something a certain way. We all were just looking at each other and smiling because her energy was so off.
They actually gave me a new class because I had complained. So I go to the new class and show up at the door at 8:01 AM and they refused to let me in. I said hey it's only 8:01 and I have seen many other ladies come in 2-3 minutes after. Dani still refused to let me in. This place is the worst!!! I do not recommend. Complete waste of money and disgusting customer service.

Do not join the club pilates in Urbandale. They will try and steal your money. I tried to call yesterday and discuss my so called membership and they said I owed $497. I already paid one month of $148. They charged me $313 early cancellation fee. Okay, well then why keep charging me. I gave my notice and now they tried to charge me for August as well. This place is a joke. They cannot do math and obviously won't be a business for long.

Yesterday I arrived at class just in time but the secretary blocked my entry. The door was not locked and the class was just starting. I understand the need to have a policy for late arrivals, but I have an atomic watch and it is correct. I have seen other people coming in 1-2 min late, but today I was not allowed to enter the class on time. I do Pilates for medical reasons, have been a member for 2 yrs and never got late. I felt the situation was very unfair. Hope they get more consistency in their policy. If CP is concerned about timing, it would be helpful to have a clock in the Pilates room to ensure all classes start and end on time. I have had classes that were 45 min only. These are expensive classes, difficult to get in, and they are advertised as 50 min classes. Thank you.
Another 1-star review. Today I went to Pilates and there was a 4-5 year old child in the room with a family relative. I understand the difficulties to find child care, but a Pilates exercise room is no place for a child. It has a lot of cords and heavy weights, and it would not be difficult for a child to get hurt. I personally saw the child playing with the cords of the reformer while her relative was exercising in the reformer. Not safe at all. Almost at the end of class, I asked the secretary whether it was allowed to have children in class. She said technically no. Then I reminded her that she had not allowed me to enter class the previous day even though I was close in time (1 min late max). She became pale and then started saying loud that she would not engage in aggression. Scary experience. Please improve your customer service training. I am at a loss of how to proceed with Club Pilates. I need it for medical reasons and I am feeling very humiliated with this whole situation.
Final review: after my complaint about the 4-5 yo child in the class, I decided to not go to classes that week. The secretary response was somewhat traumatizing for me. The next Monday, when I looked at the app to check my pilates classes times for the week, I could not find any. I contacted CP to no response. Later on I was able to talk to the manager who explained that my membership had been cancelled, with no communication about it. She apologized for the abrupt decision and said she would talk to the CP owners to reinstate my membership. I never heard from her again. I texted asking for the decision, to no avail. I was so shocked with this whole experience of poor customer service. It seems like complaints are not allowed, that "peace" is important, but without any accountability, empathy and communication. I wish them all the best, and hope their business mature over time. I have gone back to Mercy Health, which has pilates and other forms of exercise as well. I am doing fine. Signing off.

Please do more work on the reformer instead of focusing so much on Mat Pilates. I can do mat Pilates at home. Does nice job on keeping instructions simple.

The actual class was great. I signed up to be a member and I have not been able to take another class due to all the waitlists. I have tried 5 different times and days of the week. I don’t think there are enough beginner classes for all the members. I’m frustrated. The membership is expensive and to not be able to actually take any classes is frustrating.

New member to club Pilates…would love to say it’s great, but I’ve only been able to get off the waitlist for 1 class in 10 days. I wish they offered more classes so everyone could get in to a class! Now I’m locked in for 3 months and every future class I’m signed up for has a waitlist of 4 or more.

Theresa always kicks my butt in the best way. I leave her classes feeling really strong. She’s helpful with modifications for injuries also.
Selena is also one of my fave instructors. She’s been so helpful as I’ve recovered from several procedures and health issues. I love her cues, the importance of stretching that she emphasizes and she’s approachable for help in modifications.

I wanted to try out this Pilates studio but all classes are waitlisted. When I joined the waitlist and provided my payment information, I assumed that I would be charged if I made it off the waitlist. That wasn’t the case and I never made it off the waitlist. So I’ve been trying to use this “credit” for well over a month now but can never get into a class. I finally made it into a class only to be told once I got there that grippy socks were required (which I didn’t have but that they conveniently sell for $20). I refused to give them anymore money so rescheduled. Their monthly members sign up for the classes in advance so in order for me to get in to a class, I have to be on a waitlist and I’ve yet to make it into another class in spite trying to schedule a week out. Also this “credit” expires after 30 days. They’ve said they’d extend it but I’m never going to get in so I’ve basically lost $30 for nothing. Talked to women at both Jordan Creek & Ankeny who gave me the run around and just suggest I book weeks in advance (but also never mentioned this grippy sock requirement 😵💫). DO NOT RECOMMEND.
