Great place to workout, get in shape and meet new people. I was very nervous to try a gym like this but I knew I had to do something different and get away from the typical "gym scene".

I was always worried about not being able to do certain movements during the workouts as well as doing the strength movements. The instructors here are phenomenal! They help you if you don't ask for it and even more if you do. When I am doing something incorrectly they are always watching and giving feedback and instruction.

This place definitely has a great feel to it with a lot of great people. Everyone is friendly and helpful, tells jokes and seems to get along great. If you are looking to join I'd 100% recommend the noon class as that is the class with the best people ;-)

If you're looking for a top-tier CrossFit gym, look no further than CrossFit 2.2. The gym is exceptionally clean, with every corner carefully maintained. The equipment is well-organized (I’m pretty OCD on my stuff) making it easy to move between different stations without feeling cluttered or cramped. Also a lot of the equipment is brand new as the gym has expanded from when I workout on it a couples years ago.

The coaches are truly remarkable. Each one in a different way brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every class, ensuring that members receive not only top-notch workouts but also personalized attention especially in the Olympic weightlifting forms. Whether you're a CrossFit newbie (my fiancé) or a seasoned athlete (I consider me to be one, although my open workout ranks say otherwise), the coaches adjust the intensity to fit your abilities while challenging you to improve.

I do know CrossFit can be culty, but since I started this gym and especially for my fiancé that is brand new to CrossFit the members are supportive, friendly, and always willing to offer advice or encouragement. It's not just a place to work out—it’s a community where everyone is invested in each other’s success.

I’m looking forward every day to my Crossfit class which daily motivation on previous gyms/Crossfit had been a personal issue to the point I would quit over and over again and not see much of a change as I wouldn’t stay consistent in any gym. Go CrossFit 2.2, keep the good work!

I’ve been a member of CrossFit 2.2 for over 3 years now, and I can honestly say it’s been an amazing experience. When I first walked in, I was a bit nervous—having never tried CrossFit before and not having worked out or lifted weights in a while. But from day one, I felt welcomed and supported.

The community at CrossFit 2.2 is incredible. No matter your experience level, everyone is so encouraging. The members cheer each other on during every workout, which makes a huge difference in pushing yourself a little harder each time. It’s a place where you can always count on others to keep you motivated.

The coaches are fantastic—they’re incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely care about teaching proper form. They also make sure to provide modifications for all fitness levels, which is so helpful if you’re just starting out or dealing with past injuries.

What I really love about the gym is the variety. The WODs (Workouts of the Day) are always different, so it never feels repetitive. They’re challenging but scalable, which means I can always push myself without feeling overwhelmed.

Beyond the workouts, I’ve met so many amazing people here and built lasting friendships. When I had surgery a couple of times, the support from the community was unbelievable— people reached out, called, texted, and even visited to check in on me. That kind of care and camaraderie is something you can’t find just anywhere.

If you’re looking for a gym that’s more than just a place to work out, CrossFit 2.2 is the place to be. It’s hands down the best gym in town, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to challenge themselves and be part of an amazing community.

I was more than nervous when I started at CrossFit 2.2. My very first class, I was introduced to knowledgeable coaches, a supportive community, and movement modifications for beginners. I gained confidence as I saw my progress and improvement through the various levels of each movement. (Still do!)
I've also made use of the personal training offered here, focusing primarily on Olympic powerlifting, where I've experienced steady progress (and tested my limits).

I 100% recommend giving your first class a try! I'm so glad I did!

The people are the reason. The coaches are knowledgeable and friendly to everyone. The members are there to improve themselves and are so helpful regardless of you have been there a day or a year. Don’t let the weights and bars scare you away. Meet with a coach. Talk through it all. You will not regret it.

If you are interested in joining a new place to workout, then check this place out. I wish I would have tried it earlier. I have been here for a year and a half, and it is awesome with great people.

You might think, wow, that is a lot of money to pay for a gym, but you get what you pay for. Each class has a great coach to guide you through the workouts. Coaching ratio is usually 8-10 to 1 (sometimes smaller and sometimes larger). Nick (coach) does all the programming so you just come in and workout. How much is your health worth?

You might think that you can't do it or you are not ready. All the coaches are great at scaling things down to accommodate rookies. I was really grateful at how smart they were about this when I first started. There is a wide range of skill levels and ages (18-60+). You can do it now!

The people are pretty awesome! I have learned a ton from people in class. So many people are willing to help out.

It is challenging, humbling, and fun. There is a huge variety in things that we do (Olympic weightlifting, gymnastic movements, rope climbs, jump rope, box jumps, pull ups, running.... etc). The most important thing is it keeps me interested to keep going so I stay healthy.

Top. Notch. Experience.
2.2 is the gym you want to be at to chase all of your fitness goals. All the staff are beyond competent, which is sometimes hard to find. All of them range in experience and knowledge that will more than get you going to your dream bod. I hear that sometimes they get a drop in by the best dressed homeless man of cedar rapids and he shares his knowledge of Olympic weightlifting as well, tho that's like sighting bigfoot these days. Overall you can't go wrong with checking this gym out. You will be treated as family and be taught by scholars.

I started at CF2.2 as what was expected to be another failed New Year's Resolution on the first Monday of January 2019. I was knocking on the door of 280 pounds, and was generally sluggish and constantly winded my even menial amounts of exercise. I didn't like my chances of sticking it out, I used to lift weights in high school and I didn't really like it then and I was "too busy."

By October 2019 I was down 50 plus pounds, ran a half marathon in 2:05 (with no practice runs), and just felt tremendously better. So in terms of results, they have been fantastic. Two plus months post half marathon later I have survived the holidays with minimal weight gain, which is not an easy task for me.

More so than the results I've enjoyed the relationships with the staff and with others in the gym. It's a part of my day I look forward to greatly.

I'd recommend this place to great athletes that miss competition, to people that need structure to exercise, to people looking for something fun to do, and people like me 12 months ago just trying to live a better life and interested in taking the steps to get there.

Come check it out.

I must say I was skeptical and nervous about joining a new gym, but this place and the people who attend are AWESOME! I've felt welcome since day one. Nick is a fantastic coach, he takes the time to instruct you on techniques you need to work on and motivates you in a truly inspirational way. If you want to get your sweat on with a group of badass and encouraging folks, this is the way to go!

This is the third year that I have dropped in here. I drop in twice a year for a few weeks at a time. I usually hit the morning classes, which Nick is the coach. He does a fantastic job making sure people have correct form. Even though I just drop in, he still works with me as if I was a regular member there. I've been to plenty of boxes traveling, and this one is definitely high on my favorites list. There are other boxes around here, but I've never been to them because I enjoy the workouts here and feel comfortable with the professional coaching. Thanks for being so welcoming Nick!

If you are looking for an athletic activity that will change your life, Crossfit 2.2 is a great start to begin/continue your journey to a healthier, fitter, and overall more positive you. A good friend of mine tried to convince me to start Crossfit for about 6 months until I finally got up the nerve to try it out. Low and behold there was a perfect fit right in my neighborhood, Crossfit 2.2! All the coaches have a great vision for what Crossfit should be like: a self-motivating experience that challenges your mind, body, and soul. The workouts are hard, competitive, but incredibly rewarding. The more you push yourself, the more you get out of going. Again, it's all about you! Don't worry though, the coaches and athletes that work at Crossfit 2.2 are very supportive and are always willing to help you improve your times and increase your lifts to unbelievable weights! I never thought I could just throw 135 pounds over my head and squat. Insane! The "community" feel to at this box is also fantastic! The new box on Hiawatha is ridiculously roomy and feels good to work out in a space where you can practice your skills after or before each WOD. I HIGHLY recommend Crossfit 2.2 to anyone looking to make an incredibly positive change in their life.

I have been at CrossFit 2.2 for about 7 months and this is the first gym that has kept me interested and wanting to go everyday. Before I joined 2.2 I worked out at other local gyms and fitness programs and would get good results but would lose interest after a few months. With 2.2 I am excited to go everyday because the workouts are always changing which has given me the best results physically. The coaches and other members are awesome at keeping everybody motivated throughout the workouts. Since joining I have completed my first 5k race, and I plan on competing in competition in the near future.
