If you’re looking for a gym where the coach cares almost as much about your excuses as he does about your fitness, look no further than CrossFit Council Bluffs.
I walked in with a hip held together by hope and stubbornness, and Drew has somehow managed to keep me from reinjuring it—even though I still don’t have time to get it properly fixed.
He holds me accountable for every bit of BS I throw at him (and trust me, I try), and still manages to motivate me enough that I keep showing up. My fitness has improved a lot, which honestly feels like witchcraft.
10/10 would recommend—especially if you want a coach who cares, but not enough to let you slack.

I've been a member at CrossFit Council Bluffs since June of 2023. Like any gym membership, it's pointless unless you make yourself actually use it. Thankfully, the staff makes it very easy to actually want to go to the gym. The owner (Andrew Goodin) does a fantastic job of getting a baseline of your physical fitness when you first join. Once your baseline is completed and you join the other members for actual classes, you are greeted with an extremely knowledgeable staff and super friendly members. Fitness is only part of what you get when you join this gym. There is a true sense of community and all members help to keep each other accountable for the fitness journey. It is absolutely great to be surrounded by like minded individuals who help keep you motivated and coming back on a consistent basis.

Feeling stuck on a movement? The coaches will help you understand where to improve and/or scale for proper improvement and safe movements. Nutrition not where you want it? CFCB does nutritional challenges and awesome information provided to help along the way. Wanting to meet new members or even have some of your friends join you for a workout? There are community events (sometimes is potlucks) where you can invite a friend or two to come and check out what CrossFit is all about.

I can attest that the proof is in the pudding. I'm down from 220 to 175 and feel as physically fit as I was in my twenties. I can not recommend enough for anyone who is looking for a new gym, or a great way to get back in shape to come check out CrossFit Council Bluffs and all the great people that are a part it.

CrossFit Council Bluffs has genuinely changed my life. When I started a year ago, I was in a tough spot—insulin resistant, eating mostly processed food, and carrying numbers that pointed toward serious health risks. I was 260 lbs with nearly 50% body fat and a size 24 pant.

A year later, after 238 workouts, I’ve lost over 30 lbs, dropped 10% body fat, gained 10 lbs of muscle, and gone down to a size 14. But more than that—I feel strong, confident, and alive again.
The physical changes are incredible, but what’s made the biggest difference is the community and coaching. Drew Goodin is exceptional—his knowledge, encouragement, and belief in every athlete create something special here. The 5AM crew keeps me inspired every single day.

A great community of people with great coaches who take care of all their clients. Crossfit Council Bluffs is one of the best gyms I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of.
Ive been to several other CrossFit gyms and CFCB stands out. The environment, community and instruction is unparalleled.
Ive been a member of this gym for over 5 years and I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to truly get in shape. Anyone of any fitness level would benefit from the knowledge and instruction that owner Drew Goodin has to share. I am in the best shape of my life at 32 after 2 kids who are now 3&4. I attribute all that to the nutrition Drew has shared and showing up to this gym before, during and after my pregnancies. They were so accommodating and able to scale every workout as needed for me during my journey.
Joining this gym will be the best decision you make.

Having been a Member now for around 5 years I have seen my health transformed.

This isn’t easy, by any stretch but the Staff is always there to push you, teach you a new skill and find what works for you for any movement or workout.

We have celebrations for Holidays, fundraisers for members in need and run a charitable event for a worthy cause.

If you are undecided, we all were until we just began.

Longest I’ve ever stuck with a gym!!!

The knowledge and passion for what Drew does is truly evident. From safety to movement standards, he ensures all members are set up for success; age, injuries, limitations- are NOT a factor here. Just show up he and his coaches will do the rest.

The sense of community here is unlike anything else — supportive, motivating, and genuinely inspiring.
The variety in the programmed workouts keeps things engaging and well-balanced, targeting the whole body without leading to burnout. I absolutely love Council Bluffs CrossFit! The coaching team here is amazing — they truly know their stuff and care about helping each person improve safely and effectively. The workouts are always different, challenging, and so much fun.

I have been a member for over 6 years. I really appreciate the welcoming atmosphere. The workouts may seem intimidating at first glance but there is a scale, a version, for everyone regardless their fitness level and ability. The owner and coaching staff could not be any better. They truly care about my fitness journey and meet me where I am currently at. The gym is also a family to me. They host special workout events where the community is second to none. I absolutely love this gym! Walking in for the first time was a little intimidating, but I’m so glad I did. I’ve truly never looked back and have been a member since 2021. The coaches helped me get back on track, and there are literally scale options for everything they do, so anyone can join and succeed.

They even supported me through pregnancy and post-partum. I was doing squats and snatches the week I gave birth! A special shoutout to Drew, the owner. He is extremely caring and truly one of the best coaches around.

If you’re looking for a gym that becomes a part of your daily routine and supports you every step of the way, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

I’ve been a member at CrossFit Council Bluffs for 5 years now, and I can honestly say it feels like family. This is the most consistent I’ve ever been with working out—even through two surgeries and a recent injury. And even with that injury, I haven’t missed a workout because the coaches always find something I can do. They’re great at modifying movements so I can stay active and keep progressing without making things worse.
There’s always a workout waiting for you, no matter your fitness level, and the coaches are amazing. They push you to be your best but also know when you’ve hit your limit.

What really makes this place special is the people. The other members genuinely care and cheer each other on. When I first started, I was nervous that the super-fit folks would be annoyed by me being slow (thanks, high school sports trauma), but nope—they were encouraging from day one. I’ve made real friends here—people I talk to more than some folks in my everyday life. If I miss a class, someone usually checks in to see when I’m coming back.

I travel a lot for work and life, and it would be easy to fall off the wagon, but I always feel better when I’m back. CrossFit is a huge stress reliever for me, and I’m proud to say I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. I can do push-ups on my toes and even sneak in a pull-up now and then. My daughter tells people I’m strong because I do CrossFit—and that makes me proud to show her that prioritizing your health is powerful.

If you’ve ever had a perception of CrossFit that made you hesitate, I get it. I did too. But CFCB changed that for me. Give it a try—you might just find your people here.

Eight years ago, I walked into CrossFit Council Bluffs VERY pregnant. I told Drew I just needed to move, because I couldn’t run like I had always envisioned for myself. Three months before my son was born, I learned how to truly engage the muscles it takes to bring life into the world…how to “bear down” with strength and control. My son came in one and a half pushes.

After he was born, I swallowed my pride. While everyone around me was lifting bars and plates, I moved with nothing more than a PVC pipe and bodyweight squats. Slowly, I rebuilt. And now? I’m aware of every major muscle and every accessory muscle. That awareness feels like freedom.

CrossFit Council Bluffs is technically CrossFit, but because of our coach’s background, it’s really about functional fitness for real life. Every movement is modified to meet people exactly where they are…whether you’re recovering from surgery, fighting through an ailment, coming off sleepless nights with a newborn, or just taking the first step to regain your strength after loss, eating disorders, or setbacks.

It’s not just fitness. It’s freedom. And honestly, you need to join!

Can it be love at first site if it is a gym? Is it possible to find what you never knew you always wanted in a community of people suffering together? Can the hole in your heart, left by your father walking out on you at age six, be filled by a bunch of coaches who will go the extra mile to help you get results?
