I completed the 6 week challenge and lost 21.1 pounds.
One of the things I really enjoyed is being able to have an open communication with Kat & Trainer Axl.
During workouts Axl would show me the proper forms if I had any doubt if I was doing it correctly or not. I also have a bad right knee and Axl would adjust the workout so my knee wouldn’t act up.
They help make tweaks to my meal plans due to food sensitivity if I had any and just ask how I was doing in general.
The staffs there due care on my journey and I appreciate it. Kat & Axl in my corner made me motivated every single week to kick arse every week.
If you’re hesitant in joining - do it!! It will be hard, but it is so worth it!

This is not my first time doing the six week challenge. I have done it before and have once again had success. For me it is hard to workout on my own, so having someone there to lead my workout and motivate me is perfect. It's great having a coach there to answer food questions, workout, and form questions. I know I will see results because they check my results to make sure I am doing the exercise correct and they check in with me every day. The program has weekly weigh-ins so I can watch my progress and make adjustments as recommended. The diet is pretty simple and you will see results if you just follow the damn instructions. I highly recommend ELITE EDGE

It was the most uplifting experience. Motivation is a tool I need when I get there I get the one on one training and in 2 weeks I noticed a big difference im very pleased I'm going to keep coming back it's also fun love it.

I just completed the Six Week Challenge and got way more out of it that I could have imagined. Not only was I able to lose 20+ pounds in six weeks, but I learned how to maintain a more balanced diet and portion out my food choices appropriately. I even signed up for a six-month membership with the gym, and I look forward to continuing to learn new weight-lifting techniques and getting stronger. The classes never get dull, and I have enjoyed getting a good mix of lower-body workouts, upper-body workouts, and cardio. I would strongly recommend Elite Edge to anyone looking to improve his or her overall health!

I joined Elite Edge in May 2020 based on a recommendation from my sister. She completed the 6 Week - 20 Pound Challenge in 2018 successfully. I told her I didn’t think I would eat the food in the plan, and workout 30 times in 6 weeks. I blew her off but the day fitness facilities opened back up (had been closed temporarily due to COVID-19), I went straight to the gym. I finally decided to put my past gym failures behind me and move forward. The past was in the past.
Well, I was so very wrong about the food plan. There are so many different ways to cook the food in the list, as well as recipes other members suggested in our Facebook group. I was so pleased.
I successfully completed 2 - 6 Week Challenges back-to-back. From the time I stepped foot in the gym through the end of both Challenges, I had lost approximately 50 pound. I had more support than I could have ever imagined by the trainers, administration, current as well as previous Challengers. Even trainers & staff from other locations helped me with any questions I had.
My trainers Sierra and Axl are out of this world! They were and are still supportive, motivating and care about my success. I am currently a member looking forward to future success at Elite Edge. My goal is to lose an additional 50 pounds and I know I am at the right place.

I just completed the 6 week challenge and I ended up losing more than 20 pounds. personally the diet was the hardest thing to do because you have to eat every 3 hours with VERY limited options. Usually I drank half a gallon of water but I bought a gallon jug with time stamps on the side which helped a lot! I went to the WDSM location in the afternoons mostly and worked out with Axl. He was very motivating and always checked up on you while you were there working out. Overall I loved the experience and I would definitely do it again.

I successfully completed the 6-week challenge at Elite Edge!! I never would have thought that I could do something like this and actually loose 25 lbs in 6 weeks!! Trainer Axl is amazing hands down!! His motivation helped my motivation even more. Knowing I had to be in full control to complete the challenge was a little intimidating at first, but seeing results each week made that subside. This is a very good way to kickstart yourself to living better! I will be doing one again for sure! Everyone around you helps you stay motivated. I had it in my mind already that I may not loose 20 and it’s okay but I proved myself wrong and that feels great!! And getting my money back of course was a great motivator as well! Elite Edge is a great way to jumpstart or accelerate your full body fitness. The members and trainers all give off such a positive vibe, I look forward to class everyday. So much more fun than pushing weights at the gym - and more effective for full body and cardio fitness. In 6 short weeks, I’ve made more progress at Elite Edge than in the last year on my own. I’m doing things I thought were long gone possibilities. Excited to see what the next year brings as I keep going.

I participated in the 6 week 20 pound challenge. With Elite Edge's support, I was able to lose nearly 25 pounds in 6 weeks! The facet of betting on myself to win back my deposit was incredibly motivating and honestly I needed that piece of the motivation puzzle the most. I've always avoided these weight loss challenges because of all the self doubt, but this program provided a solid, clear plan to execute on and facebook groups to offer community support.
With all that said, there are negative sides to the 6 week pound challenge. I did not like the sudden focus on my weight. I had to fight to not become obsessive over it. I improved in so many other ways, lost inches, lost 5% of body fat, gained 2 pounds of muscle.. but the only focus point was my weight which is variable due to hormonal changes and water retention. Right after I started the 6 week challenge, I learned of the "Smash the Scale" challenge, which focuses on non-scale victories and I think would have been a much better fit for me.
Also, specific to the West Des Moines location, I did not have a good experience with the am trainer Sierra. Being new to working out, I had expected her to correct my form to make the moves appropriate to my fitness level, to encourage me to push through hard workouts, to answer questions about the nutrition program. Instead, she told me she expected me to ask her when I needed help correcting my form, which doesn't make any sense and frankly, is unsafe because I never knew if I was doing the moves correct or not. She was quiet during workouts (aside from yelling out when to switch movements) so for two weeks in the middle of my challenge I wasn't sore at all because it was up to me to figure out what the 'next level' was in my workouts. Finally, she told me to just 'get in the boat' when asking nutrition questions about why I wasn't hungry or expressed frustration about what I was doing. I ended up switching to the Waukee location and felt very very supported, even virtually over zoom.
Let me say that again, I received more encouragement and correction on my form (isolating the muscle groups worked for maximum results and safety in not putting undue stress on a muscle or joint) over a zoom call than I did in person with Sierra. To be fair, she is not the only trainer in West Des Moines, and I have other friends who really enjoyed working with her. I'm grateful that with the membership we had access to the metro area gyms so that my relationship with Sierra did not effect my challenge too much.

Elite Edge in WDM was amazing. I took the 6 week challenge and lost 21.4 lbs. It was very hard to get up every morning at 4 am to be at the 5 am class but i did it. With the help of the other members and my trainer Sierra that always gave me positive encouragement and always help me push through the workouts. If my form wasn't right then she would show me how to do it. The energy in the 5 am class is what kept me coming back and pushing to my goal of losing the 20 lbs in 6 weeks. I highly recommend this gym to anyone. As i am now a member of this gym and cant wait to see where my weight loss journey continues to goes. Thank you again Sierra Ty'ana!!

I just completed the 6 week challenge yesterday. I did it...I lost 20.2 pounds and am really proud of myself! The program was intense and you have to want it and be dedicated. It was just what I needed to push myself to a place I couldn’t do on my own. Sierra was great! Her help and expertise on making sure I was doing the correct form for each exercise to achieve the best outcome was wonderful! As I write this review it still feels surreal. I didn’t know I had it in me but I proved to myself I CAN! I’ve signed up as a member because I want to continue on. I want to get stronger and keep a healthy routine in my life. I took the 6 week challenge and lost around 24 pounds in the challenge. The first couple of weeks were tough with all the soreness but it is a great jump start to get back into shape. After the soreness went away, I felt good after working out each day and felt like I had more energy! The diet is tough especially on the weekends. During the week, it wasn't as hard since I had a routine. I would recommend this challenge to anyone who needs to lose weight or wants to get in better shape! They also did a great job of keeping distance between everyone and cleaning all the equipment! Thanks for all your help and keeping me motivated during this challenge!

I just finished my 6 week challenge and I lost 21 pounds! I needed something to get me motivated again and get me out of the rut I was in, not to mention I needed to lose some weight. I had never incorporated strength training into my routine, and it made all the difference. Being 51 I know I need to work more on strength and so my goal now is to keep it up for life. This past six weeks has been truly transformational. In the past, I've been a member, I've completed a 21 day detox challenge, and now, I've successfully completed a six week 6% body fat loss challenge. I did this through a focus on macros, healthy eating, and, of course, the best workouts around. Elite Edge is no doubt the best gym I've worked with. Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Absolutely. If you follow their instructions to a t, they will help you transform your body. Weekly check ins help to hold you accountable and allow your coaches to modify your plan if/when needed. If you want to lose body fat and gain muscle, I highly recommend Elite Edge.

Great place to work out and begin your journey to a new you. The trainers were easily the most important key to the process, they were always ready to push you further than you thought you could go without being discouraging. They were also always ready to answer fitness and nutrition questions and provide guidance to keep you focused on your goals. Loved the classes with the trainers, very informative and ready to demonstrate every excersize. The minimalist gym helped me easily translate workouts to home when the gym wasn't an option when out of town. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Elite and look forward to the next round.

This summer I had some troubles with plantar fasciitis. In December I quit my full time job that kept me on my feet 36 hours a week to go back to school. As a result, I gained over 20 pounds. I need it to do something to jumpstert my return to better health.
Six weeks ago, I started the 6 Week Challenge at Elete Edge West Des Moines. With motivation and support from the staff, over the 6 weeks, I was able to drop 27.7 pounds. Now I am at a much healthier weight and look forward to maintaining it.
I'm not going to set any world records, but now I can at least do a sit up and enjoy a bike ride without feeling like I'm dying.
My thanks go out to the staff in West Des Moines and to the company for giving me this opportunity.

I highly recommend Elite Edge West Des Moines!! From the very start it felt very welcoming, and like I was supposed to be there. I did the 6 week challenge and successfully completed the challenge. When I joined Elite Edge, I had already lost 15 pounds just by eating healthier so I went with the loss of body fat option. Having been in the Marine Corps, I was confident this would be a breeze. Was I wrong! The workouts were not only challenging but the coaches were always quick to help if you needed it with an exercise. The thorough FTDI class on proper eating habits , protein and carb intake is very hard to follow but the support you get makes it easier!
This is a total class act with very knowledgeable, friendly and professional coaches. Highly recommend you join and start making a better you!

I recently finished a 6 week challenge at this location. They provided us nutrition information and encouragement all the way to the very last minute. This challenge can act as a catalyst to change your life. Elite Edge has amazing trainers who care about your progress and push you to be your best. When I first joined I was at my highest weight and needed to loose weight for my health. I knew I wouldn't push myself hard enough. I was very nervous joining. I loved all the staff and they were extremely helpful!! developed friendships and I plan to come back to go another 15lbs! best experience I have ever had. the first week was tough but you will get adjusted to the diet. Love the workouts, never the same and a good challenge. Like that u are achieving a goals as a group and as an individual and have had a great group to workout with! The owner, manager and instructors are great! Informative, motivating, very helpful and knowledgeable plus just all around fun people to be around and have guiding you! Just finished the 6 week challenge and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. The instructors push you to go beyond your capabilities in the classes and help with technique. I walked in not knowing a thing a about the barbell, but all the instructors helped me every single class. They truly want people to succeed. I could feel myself getting stronger as the weeks went on. Definitely recommend anyone in signing up for the challenge. It’s hard but the feeling after 6 weeks when you’ve accomplished this goal is priceless!

I highly recommend Elite Edge in West Des Moines. All of the trainers are extremely encouraging and work with you individually to set and meet your goals. The workouts were never the same and kept me excited to come every day. I started the 6-week challenge 8 weeks after having a baby and struggled with the workouts in the beginning but quickly gained strength and started making progress. I lost 23 pounds and am able to fit into almost all of my pre-baby clothes. It’s the best thing I could have done to kickstart me back into working out after having a baby. So happy I made the decision to do the 6-week challenge!

Where to start! This place has truly changed my life and perspective on fitness! I started with the 6 week challenge and then committed as a member. The trainers are fantastic! They check in with you daily, like actually genuinely ask about how things are going and alter diet/workout/whatever to make things tailored to your needs. They push you and are hands on during the workouts; correcting your form and encouraging you to have confidence to push yourself to new limits. Other gym attendees are helpful, fun, encouraging and you will most likely make new friends in this wonderful community! If you are looking a positive, fun, and life changing community! The program is set for you to be successfuI, the FTDI menu items are so simple you cannot get it wrong unless you give up. Eating every 2.5-3hrs was a bit of a barrier but as the weeks went by it got easier! I

Did the 6 week challenge which is a great deal for between 30-36 training sessions. This was my second challenge at elite, and I loved every moment of it. The workouts are ALWAYS challenging. The trainers there are helpful and fun. I never imagined I would be the person that woke up and went to the gym at 6am, but after the first week it was what I looked forward to. I highly recommend Elite for all ages and sizes, it is a totally judgement free zone, and you won't regret your time there!

1/6/2020 - Update: This place still has great workouts. They still have friendly staff and the clients are the best group people in any gym I've ever been to. BUT about a year ago, the place changed. The place is very dirty. Plan on doing your workouts next to mangles of hair and on a dirty floor. There are dust bunnies lurking under the equipment and in every corner. Equipment is broken/ripped. If you happen to go the bathroom and score paper towels AND toilet paper...consider yourself lucky, this is a rarity. Many of the people I started with have now left for these reasons. I'll continue to go because I have an expensive contact and I love the workouts, but I really hoping they figure out how to keep the place a bit more clean.
This place is great! I love coming to my 6 AM class every morning. Eddie Mark does a great job of keeping me motivated and inspired to be the best and to try my hardest every day. Even on days I felt like giving up I knew that I could go in there so might be it would be encouraging and the workouts would be fun. They're designed with many modifications so nothing ever felt like it was something I couldn't do even when I first started. The clientele is nice and encouraging as well. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who struggles going to the gym and wants to have a fun atmosphere to work out in. This is the best I've felt in a long time thanks Elite!!!

I just completed up the six week / 20 lbs challenge. It was a fantastic experience. I was nervous going into a group gym class setting as I had not ever been...the coach led classes were amazing. The team of Sierra, Dillion and Axl want you to succeed and will do anything to help. The diet + workouts are tough...but if it were easy...you know the rest. 5 stars to the entire process...from the documentation provided, location, coaches, equipment...Sign up, you will not be disappointed!

I just finished my 6 week challenge with a friend today and it was an awesome experience. The format of workouts made time fly while getting an incredible workout. The coached are all really helpful making sure we learned proper form as neither of us knew anything about free weight work. They were also available for nutrition tips and counsel when I had questions. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, even at 5 AM! I’m so happy with my results, (down 6.5% body fat) I’ve decided to become a member and set new goals. I’m 52yrs old and feel stronger than I have in years! I work out often, but because my body is used to it, I don’t always see the results on the scale that I work so hard for. I came to Elite Edge after hearing from friends about how the program helped them break through some of their weight loss obstacles. I found the workouts and nutrition guide challenging, but that’s what I came for. The trainers are friendly, energetic, encouraging, and always took the time to correct my form so I could continue to train. I would recommend this program to anyone who always struggles to lose the last 20 or even someone who never works out. They will meet you where you are and help you achieve your goals.

This was definitely not easy, but what is in life!! This 6 week challenge pushed me since day 1 and I am glad that I stuck to it because I am feeling great now!! From day 1, it was up to me to make this work!! And I will admit that day one I slacked and I didn’t even have my meals ready, but by Wednesday of that 1st week, I had everything I need to succeed for my transformation. What really helped my success with the trainers and recognition for my hard work. 3 weeks into the challenge, people at work started noticing the big change of my face and it not looking like a bowling ball anymore, lol. Thank you to Sierra for continually pushing me every morning and for the tums when I needed them. Definitely recommend this challenge for anyone that is dedicated to transform!!

After successfully completing Elite Edge’s 20 pound weight loss challenge I am thrilled! Not only are the trainers Dillon and Sierra amazing but I feel incredible! I went had had a physical 3 weeks in and my doctor was absolutely amazed at the numbers that came back with my bloodwork and how much healthier I am after being in the program. The workouts are awesome and the diet is easy as long as you Follow The Damn Instructions! Thank you Dillon, Sierra and Elite Edge for teaching me and reminding me that food is fuel and that the body needs intermittent nourishment to keep it burning efficiently! I was able to lose 20 pounds in 6-weeks with the 6 week challenge! They give you all of the tools and support you the entire way. Not only did I lose the weight but I learned so much about diet and exercise. I also broke so many bad habits over the six weeks. So while 20 pounds every six weeks is not necessarily sustainable, I now have the knowledge, tools and support to continue on my weight loss & fitness journey! I could not recommend this place enough, they’ve changed my life!

I recently participated in the Elite Edge transformation challenge and I am happy to say that I was able to lose 21 lbs. It was tough but the trainers and members helped me get through. There are a lot of people within the gym that are there to help you and motivate you. The fb group is available at your fingertips whenever you need questions answered or even different recipes if you’re struggling with FTDI. The classes were great! They were tough, but I always enjoy a challenge. One of my favorite things is that everyday was different. I didn’t know what I was getting yourself into until I got there. I started the 6 week challenge at 9.5 months postpartum. I had gained all my weight AFTER having my daughter and wanted to take back control of my health, especially for her. I am breastfeeding so the biggest challenge was the nutrition component but I was able to work with the coaches on a plan that worked best for me. I lost 25.2 pounds AND I am still successfully breastfeeding, a win-win. I lost the weight, but I gained confidence and self-esteem. My weight loss journey is not over but I am so pleased with my results!

I loved my experience at elite edge. The workouts are hard, but change daily so you stay engaged. The coaches are very friendly and push you to give everything you can. Personally I like this gym because of several factors one of them being the friendly and non judgmental attitude of the trainers. I have been to many gym around the area but when you see trainers remember your first name and greet you every single time with your name,I knew this is the place to stay.
I took this 6 weeks challenge with very little hope to looses weight, I was 126 pounds 9 years ago and accumulated all the weight (176) over the years , have been to most of the gym around the area with no results and always blamed it to my poor metabolism( hypothyroid).
At this gym, I learned the right technique to do exercises with emphasis on proper, healthy and balanced diet. At last I lost 24.2 pounds.

I would recommend EE if you are looking to losing weight, getting into working out, or just want to join a supportive healthy community that encourages you to be your best. The trainers are knowledgeable in nutrition and workouts, and they provide a 1:1 like atmosphere in their workouts. The training and encouragement does not end at the end of the 6weeks they continue to coach you through your journey. Over the past six weeks I’ve been part of the six week challenge. I found it difficult but far from impossible. Doesn’t matter if you were an athlete growing up or a kid who enjoyed video games, as long as you had commitment and determination, it was doable. Weeks one to two is all about prepping and getting use to the new lifestyle. Weeks three and four were the most difficult as cravings kicked in and some weight loss stabilized from the diet. Weeks five and six are about what you expect. The end is in sight and I’m almost done. The trainers were more than trainers the entire time. They all knew/remembered your name, even if you only had that particular trainer once before. They chatted with you constantly to see how to best improve each workout starting with each rep. Several successful reps leads to a successful set and several successful sets leads to a successful workout. Trainers would also check in with you at least every 2 days. See how everything’s coming. See if you had any questions or offer help with anything that concerned you. Also, the trainers checking in at least weekly on your diet helped reiterate the point and provide you slight alternatives if something particular wasn’t working for you. Members at the gym too went out of their way to introduce themselves and offer encouragement. Overall, it was a great experience and I recommend it to anyone looking to improve their lifestyle.

I participated in the 6 week challenge through Elite Edge and am happy to say I dropped 6.2% body fat! I was extremely hesitant to join because I hadn't worked out consistently in over 5 years and was so terrified! The trainers made me feel right at home. They were motivating and pushed me, especially on my "off" days. They gave me so many tips, from meal prepping to supplements to help with my inevitable soreness. I strained my hip flexor (my own fault) and was unable to do a few movements, but they gave me great alternatives to ensure I still got in a well-rounded workout each time. I loved how different each day was because I tend to get bored easily, and the class times were easy to work around my complicated schedule. This was exactly what I needed right before heading in to a busy semester of school and I am proud of myself for sticking with it! I love Elite Edge. The workouts are always hard, but because of the coaches, they can easily modify movements based on your needs (injuries, fitness level, balance, etc). They push you to do your best, and I always get a much better workout here than I could on my own. The coach is right there to walk you through form, and you have the comfort of a group fitness class without the "one size fits all" dynamic of typical group fitness. I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if lifting is intimidating or unfamiliar territory. They make it so easy and accessible!

My daughter did the challenge. She missed the weight goal by 8 ounces so she did not get it free, but a deal is a deal, However, she was using our credit card, and after she cancelled, Elite Edge has continued to bill us. What a scam, we have tried 3 times to get them to stop billing us, they say it's taken care of, and the next month we have another bill. Free money for them, just keep billing until we threaten to sue, then maybe they will stop? Even if they stop, I would bet they will not refund us the money they have taken on a cancelled membership.

I love it at the gym! I did the challenge last year and did not win except for health and weight loss goals and found a gym that I love! I did the challenge this year and I won with losing 22.7 pounds total. All the trainers there are great! I overall have more energy, strength and continuing my health and weight loss goals. This is all despite multiple car accidents with the most recent one that happened during the 2nd week of the challenge. I just said that I was not going to let the accident deter me from my health and weight loss goals. I had to make some minor modifications on some of the workouts due to doctor's orders but I was there and will continue on as a member.

Weight=187.3 - 164.6 = 22.7 pounds lost
Bust = 43 1/2 - 42 - 1 1/2 inches lost
L arm = 14 - 13 = 1 inch lost
R arm = 13 - 12 = 1 inch lost
Hips = 45 1/2 - 43 1/2 = 2 inches lost
Waist = 39 - 34 1/2 = 4 1/2 inches lost
Abs = 42 1/4 - 40 1/4 = 2 inches lost
L thigh = 23 - 21 = 2 inches lost
R thigh = 24 - 20 = 4 inches lost
Total 22.7 pounds and 18 inches lost!
A big part of my success is not only to the gym but also to YOLI! They make awesome products! As well of course eating healthy and plenty of water!
I can honestly say that I would not have ended up with these results without my hard work, blood, sweat and tears and the help and support of the trainers here at Elite.
Update: I did another 6 weeks from 07/22/19 (day after my birthday. lol) - 08/31/19. I ended up at 169.6, so up overall 5.1 pounds but I did not know after I completed the previous challenge that I was going to do this. I had regained some of the weight rather quickly and it took a bit to get it back off, in which I did. I can honestly say that with doing the challenge a 2nd time back to back and my 3rd challenge since last year that I have learned about accountability, consistency, no Mountain Dew and what a difference your water intake really can make. Everyone at the gym has always been great. Even though I did not qualify for the refund and I have not done my new measurements yet (but I don't think there will be as drastic of changes there), that overall I have won my ultimate issues of overall better health and eventually I will get to at least my weight loss goals.

Today I completed my 6 week challenge! It was truly a challenge for me but it helped my health tremendously. I was able to lose over 22lbs in 6 weeks, I never thought I would be able to do it but I did it. The meal plan was difficult but you get used to it and it teaches you about portion control which was great. The coaches are SUPER helpful and fun, they are there with you every step of the way. The workouts start a little hard because you’re body isn’t used to it but little by little your body adapts to the workouts and you get stronger and leaner.

Crazy to think I’ve lost 10% of my body weight in the last 6 weeks. This challenge is no joke. My self-control was pushed to the limit, but I stuck to the plan and it showed. I thought it would be hard to give up alcohol, but that was the easy part. I never knew how much I rely on fast food (especially bread and cheese). If you follow “the rules” the weight WILL come off.
Surprisingly, I found myself looking forward to going to the gym. The coaches, Axl, Dillon, and Kyle were motivating and always making sure we had proper form to get the most out of every rep. Not once did we have the same workout, they were always fresh and I learned new exercises everyday.
I lost 20 pounds, but I gained so much more: Higher confidence, clearer skin, tighter tummy, firmer butt, and even extra spending money (from not eating out and instead prepping my own food) for my cruise coming up next month! I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I just got done with the 6 week challenge, my goal was to loose 6% body fat and I lost a little over that. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of the coaches. They were there always following up with us and providing accommodations. The atmosphere is great and everyone is super friendly. I did the 6week challenge at the West Des Moines location. It has been a wild road. As soon as I started I found out that I was pregnant. I talked to my Dr and said to keep an eye on my heart rate and not to lift too heavy and I can continue. With that being said, the trainers were completely understandable and if I had to change up some things they we're fine with it. They kept me working hard though and tomorrow is my final weigh in. Going to Elite Edge has made me feel stronger and feels good to go to such a good gym.

I just successfully completed the six week challenge, and I have to say, it wasn’t as tough as I initially thought it would be. NOT saying it wasn’t tough, but after the first couple weeks of detoxing and getting a routine down, maintaining the routine came naturally. I hadn’t ever done a gym before day one, but the classes are structured so beginners through advanced can still get a quality workout. I think they also structure the week well so you’re not overworking any of your muscle groups.
Dillon is a fantastic accountability coach. He was checking in with me weekly in class and on FB; he made it seem like he really cared about my progress and results. I was nursing throughout the challenge and was very worried about my supply with the restrictive diet. He helped me modify the diet to allow me keep nursing and helped me shed the last couple pounds week 6 with extra cardio.
I’m bummed my home life obligations and mom guilt doesn’t allow me to continue on with a membership, but when that changes, I’d definitely come back.

The program teaches us discipline and that we have to fight to lose the weight and keep it off. It’s so much more than losing weight, it’s learning how to live a healthy lifestyle. I just completed the 6 week challenge, successfully losing 20lbs! It was definitely a difficult challenge. I’ve never worked so hard, or been pushed so hard, during any fitness program. And I am so happy with the results! The trainers do everything they can to help you meet your goal, not only during workouts but are available whenever if you need advice on your diet or additional home-based exercise. I could really tell that they cared about how I was doing the entire time. The toughest part for me is that I was nursing during the challenge, and while I was able to meet the goal it was really difficult. I really had to push at the end to lose the last few pounds. I’m so happy that I did it but I think it would have been better if I had waited until I wasn’t nursing.

I have had such an amazing time here at the West Des Moines, Iowa location! First step into the building to hear about the program, I knew it was a right fit for me. I had let myself go from a divorce and trying to help my kids adjust to a new routine. There are tons of amazing things about this place. The trainers/coaches are there for you. They train with enthusiasm and are dedicated in helping you become a healthier you. They are there for you 100% for questions you may have and if you haven't touched base with them, they certainly reach out to you. Weigh in every Monday and right then and there the coach will talk with you about you tweaking any routine and or simply stay on pace. It's great to have the accountability here! The encouragement and support you receive at this gym isn't just from the employees, it's from members working out beside you. Trainers show you the exercise and not just throw you into the wild. They walk around making sure people are in correct form. You can join there Facebook page and there you have a private support group of former and current challengers. I had been hating myself for a very long time with letting myself go with life events and I knew it was my time to take an hour out of every day for Me. Update: This challenge is so great that I had to come back and do it again. This time I worked much harder and I completed the challenge successfully. The staff at Elite Edge are super energetic and will not let you quit. I highly recommend checking it out because it’s almost impossible not to get results.
Elite Edge has a very well put together program with a comprehensive approach to improving your health. Unfortunately, I did not lose 20 lbs, so I technically did not pass the challenge. What I did do is lose 15 lbs, decrease my body fat, increase my muscle mass and made sustainable changes to my diet that I frankly prefer over my old eating habits. The coaches are the best part of the program. They do a great job checking in on your progress and motivating you to push yourself. The challenge was worth every penny and minute of my time.

I just finished the 6 week challenge at Elite Edge West Des Moines and lost over 30lbs! Elite Edge makes it simple to lose weight by tailoring workouts to your specific needs as well as planning your meals and providing accountability. The coaches are inviting, friendly, educated, and highly encouraging of your weight loss goals. During this 6 weeks, I was dealing a few injures to my neck and back. The coaches helped my through the injuries by giving me variations of exercises so I could continue with minimal pain. I would really recommend this to anyone who struggles with motivation. These classes are filled with people full of inspiration and kindness . From the coaches to the other group members. I signed up for the Elite Edge 6 week 20 lb. challenge. I had a very positive experience working out here! The classes offered a variety of workouts and challenges and the trainers were all very kind and motivating which helped me meet the 20 lb. weight loss goal! Special thanks to Eddie Mack and Alyssa Ames for leading the workouts and making sure I was using proper form. 😁 Checking in to the gym on Facebook helped with the accountability to make sure I got all of my workouts in. The at home workout alternative options were helpful on those busy days when I just couldn’t make it to the gym. The diet plan also helped motivate me to continue eating healthy.

I needed a jump start, I have access to equipment and can self motivate once I am going. I was in a rut and needed a nudge. On my first week I injured my hand (not at the gym) and couldn’t grab a barbell. Brady told me to take time to heal then let him know when I was ready. Two weeks later I started again. I immediately knew I would be successful here. Eddie is a good motivator and makes the classes enjoyable. Sierra filled in for Eddie and also kept us working. They adjust workouts to individuals and their abilities and health needs. Everyone can have a tailored experience here. Great place to workout.

I just completed the 6 week challenge and I would reccomened it to anyone who is willing and is motivated because it works! I lost 20.1 pounds during the 6 weeks. No it wasn’t easy and it takes a lot of time and devotion but it is well worth it for anyone who needs a change in their life. Finished my 6 week challenge - I lost 28.5 lbs. I would highly recommend this gym for anyone interested in dropping some weight. Friendly and supportive staff that provide great workouts. Alyssa, Eddie, Brady and Kobe are all there to help whenever you need it. Exercises are explained and demonstrated before the start of every workout. Workouts can be done no matter what level of fitness you are at. This gym is more than just cardio. They provide a full scale workout that will keep you going and keep you motivated. Give them an hour a day and follow the diet (tough but you can do it. Just take it day by day) - you will lose the weight. It is amazing what changes you will see within six weeks. Do I recommend Elite Edge Transformation Center West Des Moines?
Short answer: Absolutely!!!!
Long Answer: I couldn’t be happier with this place. I came into EE WDM well over my heaviest weight I’ve ever been. I drank way more alcohol in a week than most people do in 2 months. Weighing in at 261.1 and being diagnosed with pre-diabetic symptoms, it was time to do something. I was super nervous sitting in the crowd during the orientation, but that was quickly settled by the speaker Brady, right away. There was absolutely no intimidation factor or scare tactics from anyone there. (The other ‘slap the bag place’ loved scare tactics). I was super sore after the first two days, but leaning on the coaches and instructors, they gave me quality advice that helped ease the pain and allowed me to dive right back in! The other thing I loved about these instructors, is the fact that they remained engaged and are always willing to help with questions any and every time you have them. They took the time to remember me (and all of the other students by name). I didn’t feel, kicked to the side, once I signed the contract and gave them my money. The other place (you know... the slap the bag place) made me feel like a nobody, after the first week. Their meal plan might seem restricted at first, but you will get your rhythm and come up with creative ways to make your meals, that you will actually prefer eating clean, within that first week. All in all, I’m super happy with my results (23lbs of total weight loss in 6 weeks) and I have actually signed up for another 6 week challenge to get me closer to my goal!

I signed up for the 6 week challenge not knowing what I was getting myself into. Low and behold I lost a little over 20 in SIX weeks. The trainers are wonderful and definitely help you succeed with your goals. They provide the knowledge, nutrition but ultimately it's up to you to work for it. If I were to try and lose 20 in 6 weeks, I don't think I would have gotten very far. Thank you ELITE for helping me drop weight, hold myself accountable and not letting me fail! I am so happy I spontaneously signed up for the 6 week challenge with some friends. I was really impressed with the program—so much so that I signed up for a year membership. I have done at least one class with all the trainers and would recommend them all. However, evenings work better for me, and Alyssa is fantastic. The workouts are challenging and actually very fun because they are always so different. I lost 22 lbs during the challenge and am excited to keep working on my goals with this gym. Well......I did it! I took the 20lb Elite Edge Challenge for 6 weeks. I lost 20 pounds. It was a great time. Everyone was great at answering questions, helping with exercises I had no clue how to do, lol, and helping to push me to do my best. Thanks so much Alyssa Ames, Brady Wheelock, and Eddie! This is a great program. I'd recommend it to anyone at any exercise level. It was awesome to come in and have a new workout every day! I just finished my 6 week challenge. While I didn't lose the 20 pounds, I made major accomplishments thanks to the program. I lost just shy of 10 pounds, lost 4.1% body fat, gained a pound of muscle mass, lost 3 inches from my waist and 2 inches from my thighs. My clothes fit better, I feel better, and I call that a win.
The workouts are my favorite style of workout. You have the group there to encourage you and you never wonder what's going on because your coach is always there to help. I've been a member of a lot gyms in the Des Moines area, I also had the opportunity to coach/manage one as well, and I can confidently say the last six weeks at Elite Edge were the most productive I've had in five years. I look forward to going in every morning and am excited to continue attending. The coaches are top-notch. While most gyms employ member veterans to coach classes (not knocking it, I was one of those), EE has certified instructors who are focused on form and helping you get the most out of the workout. My husband successfully completed the Elite Edge 6 Week Challenge back in November. Since then, I had always thought I would do it at some point but timing during the school year just wasn't good. Once summer began, I decided to sign up for the challenge and I'm so happy that I did. I regularly attended morning classes and from day one, Eddie was calling me by name and giving me the attention and help I needed. Before my first day at Elite, I had never been in any type of gym or class setting before so I was pretty green as far as knowing how to use the weights and equipment. I have felt nothing but support from the Elite Edge staff. They have even gone out of their way while I was out of town to give me at home workouts and encourage me to work out on the road. After the 6 weeks, I am 22 lb lighter, a lot stronger, and have already made a commitment for another year at the gym. I feel like I am always welcome there and that they truly want me to succeed. I would recommend the 6 week challenge from Elite Edge. The instructor Alyssa was very motivating and vigilant. She noticed my form was off balance and suggested using grip weight plates to stand on and it helped. I lost 11 pounds and will continue the workout routines that I learned. I will definitely say this program is not for the weak willed. The meal plan is tough and the work outs are hard. If you just Follow The Damn Instructions, trust the program, and the staff you CANNOT fail. The trainers are amazing and they are very knowledgeable. They will push you to your absolute maximum muscle burnout in each workout on a daily basis. If you are looking for a gym that will get you results the right way, with hard work, dedication, and accountability then I say YES, this is the place for you!!! I would definitely recommend this gym to those who have the will power and drive to succeed. If your motto is "Failure is not an option" then YES definitely join. When I started this program I weighed 205.7 lbs. I was nervous since I was not even a year out from my ACL reconstruction surgery. I had literally just been released from PT and Dr care. Not to mention that this type of group workout is out of my wheelhouse. But I knew that if I wanted a drastic lifestyle change, meant I needed a drastic life changing program. I ended up loving the workouts, the trainers, and the energy within the gym. Everyone is there for the same reason and I was surprised when people I didn't even know where encouraging me to keep pushing. Thanks to all of them and my dear friend that went on this journey with me I succeeded. It was an amazing experience and I ended up loosing 29 lbs in 6 weeks. I will take what I have learned from this program and continue to apply it to my everyday health and fitness goals. They first couple weeks I think I facebooked my trainer almost everyday and he always responded quickly and never seemed annoyed and was super helpful. The diet was tough, not gonna lie the first couple weeks was a emotionally rollercoaster. But after that and seeing and feeling results it was a cake walk, minus then cake!! As a new mom, I didn’t feel great about the way I looked and this was just what I needed to kickstart my new healthy lifestyle and get back to where I was before baby. This was definitely more of a mental challenge then a physical one. It was pretty amazing to be able to put myself to the test which was more what I was looking for then just signing up to lose the weight. This 6 week challenge program rocked! Whether you are athletic or a couch potato, this program is set up to make everyone successful! I was looking for a new challenge and I was pushed to new levels. Workouts are never boring and they’re always switching it up with something new! With a good combination of cardio, strength training and some kickboxing, I successfully lost 21 pounds and inches from everywhere. The trainers were amazing, always pushing you to be successful and always helpful demonstrating exercises, which makes it a great atmosphere. The food plan was not too bad. You get to eat real food and it was not horrible food. I loved being creative to find new ways to cook the approved foods. And the best part its temporary! If you are ready to shred some pounds and inches and have fun doing it, this is the place to go!

Although, I have been in the military for 16 years and have kept in decent shape I still felt challenged and that I had got an amazing full body work out after each class. The eating plan was tougher than I was hoping but after eating the junk I eat it was to be expected. The knowledge and experience I have gained I will be able to use in my future work outs and continue getting into shape.
My time at elite edge I became a fan of Eddie’s training. I like how I felt that it was a personal trainer type situation. Yet, didn’t feel like I was back in basic training either. He was able to push me to do better and of course always correcting my form. He would continue to make sure I was doing the exercise properly and safely all the while keeping in fun and interesting. With this knowledge Eddie shared I will be able to continue to better myself with proper technique and safety concerns to prevent injuries in the future for myself. Thanks for everything.

I just completed the 6-week challenge at Elite Edge gym and I lost my goal weight of 20 lbs!!! This really does work. When I initially signed up I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to meet my goal. I do not like going to gyms and working out in front of other people and I also have never been one to commit to exercising. But with Elite Edge it was so much easier to be committed. The exercises were something different every day, so I did not get bored and was working on my entire body, not just targeted areas. Also, I never felt uncomfortable in the classes because everyone is so supportive, and the other trainees come in all shapes and sizes without judgement. The instructors are awesome… especially Brady!! He has a way of making everyone feel very comfortable and we all have a good time. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs a little extra motivation to get themselves in shape. The chance to earn my money back kept me working hard…. and in the meantime, I developed an enjoyment of working out and eating healthier, definite win! I already have my next challenge planned.

I started the 6 week elite edge challenge in the West Des Moines gym. I stuck with it to the end and followed the FTDI diet and completed all required workouts Although I did not reach my goal I was close. Regardless of what the numbers on the scale read nothing can take away what I accomplished. I would recommend this class to anyone wether they have a small or big goal. The classes had lots of variety so it never got boring and the instructors there seem to genuinely care about you reaching your goals.

I took the 6 week Challenge, and I couldn't recommend Elite Edge more highly. It's not easy - the diet is a challenge and the workouts are intense, especially for someone like me who was out of shape. But I felt like the program was built to help me get there. And the staff (Eddie & Brady) were an awesome mix of patient as I struggled to work myself back into shape and challenging as they pushed me to stretch myself. They are awesome guys, and they're a great source of information and encouragement. If you're looking to get in shape, or you're in relatively good shape and looking to find a place that will help you reach and maintain peak fitness, Elite Edge is totally worth checking out.

After having a desk job for the past 3 years and trying several types of fad diets with no luck I decided id do it the old fashioned way and try out a gym. A buddy of mine recommended Elite Edge. At first I was a little skeptical but after meeting my coatches and completing my first day I was hooked. Everything is laid out step by step. The workouts are tough and very well structured. The coaches (Eddie and Brady) Are some of the most knowledgeable iv ever worked with. They are always finding ways to motivate you more and more, and if an exersise is ever to hard or to easy they always have a modification they can do to make sure your getting the most bang for your effort. After losing a little over 29 lbs on the 6 week challenge I became a member. Never have I seen such improvement in such a short time. My outlook on food, exercise and life has changed because of this place. If you're on the fence about Elite Edge just do it. The next 6 weeks could change your life like it did mine.

*This as a good reality check of how far we needed to go and the fast more direct way to do it.

*I’m a professional gardener and do estate management. I have to have strength to do my job. I have had to work through injuries and not stop so I pressed on through stuff and just kept working out the issues.
*I could do no push ups when I started. My arms would not bear my weight. Now I can!
*The FTDI was challenging, but we just kept marching. Fish, Turkey, Chicken…
*It’s like a job and you do your job. So, food prep was not hard. Shopping was easy and we did not eat out. We both met our goal!
*The Branched Chain Amino Acids AKA BCAAs rock. Keep them going in to ease the transition.
*I kept hyper flexing my lower legs by trying too hard on the glute bridges and pushing up too hard. Good form! Good form! I say! is more important than zeal!
*I particularly like the attention paid to the core, back and shoulders. I still have a slight click in my right shoulder with rear arm circle. That is improving.
*The program is an advanced cardio mash up with weight training on interval. Intervals mean you rest when you are supposed to, to let the nervous system recover. FTDI! (There should be a flag for this!)
*BONUS! Cellulite on upper legs is much improved because of taking in the right amount of protein. Get a food scale!
*Still not doing the burpees but, they are coming along. Little by little…
*I suggest the trainers remind us to pull in the belly button when doing core.
*Love the cool down and have very few issues because of the good stretch.
*Our trainer, Eddie Mack, just loves people and has a great energy for the room. This is so important! If he is happy we are all there too! He rocks the job! Thanks Eddie for helping us transform!

I just completed my six week challenge and successfully reached my goal of losing 29 pounds in 6 weeks. My total weight loss was 21.7 pounds in six weeks and I could not be happier! I can’t say that it was always easy following the strict food progrm or the 5 day a week workouts BUT there is no doubt that it works and is worth every bit of effort it involved. Every day at the gym brought a new work out routine so it was never boring and I felt challenged every day. The workouts worked all muscle groups as well as overall cardio. The coaches were great and always encouraging.

I’m an active member of the Des Moines Rugby Club. While I’ve been active my entire life, I joined Elite Edge because I wanted to try something new that would: push me beyond my comfort zone, and made me a better athlete. It is normal to be hesitant to put money on the line and try something new. However, if you stay honest with yourself, follow the instructions, and push yourself, you will succeed. Losing 24 pounds through the 6-week challenge at Elite Edge (West Des Moines) was just the beginning. I decided to sign up for a whole year because I enjoyed their workout program’s structure. The coaches and members never made me feel like I didn’t belong. After only a few workouts (which are intense and vary every day), I was hooked! The six week challenge is what it is named “a challenge”. I sat through the nutrition presentation and went thru the weigh-in. I did not have any idea what was to follow. I knew that the challenge was to FTDI and lose 20 lbs. in six weeks. What I didn’t know was what followed. I thought I would be hungry all the time with the dieting. Little did I realize, that when I followed the plan I felt great and hunger was not an issue. I did miss some of the foods I was used too. The diet provides the nutrients you need for the regiment. The workouts are great and very effective. They are varied and very “challenging”. I lost 25 lbs. in the six weeks. The trainers are awesome and I would recommend this to anyone!

I did the 6 week challenge at the beginning of 2018. I'm normally pretty fit but spent the fall getting fat and needed a push to get back into shape. The coaches were excellent and the weight plan, while not fun, was excellent and very effective in helping me shed pounds. I lost 31.3 pounds during the six weeks. I took measurements on my home weight scale and my body fat went down from 17% to 13%. Coincidentally, I had a biometric screening at work during the tail end of the program and my cholesterol was down about 25 points, and my blood pressure went from borderline high the year prior to normal this year. I was very happy with the results and the coaches. I like to do long runs and bike rides on the weekends. The diet calls for high protein; low carbs. The coaches helped me figure out what to eat on Fridays/Saturdays so I could continue my long runs and rides and still have energy. This program works great, as long as you follow the instructions, which is easier said than done.

All you need to do here is show up and work til you drop!
The staff are tremendously helpful and encouraging and they all take the time to learn your name and a little about you. The atmosphere here is very supportive and you get to know not only the trainers but other challengers and members as well.
The 6 week challenge to lose 20 lbs was nothing short of a wake up call with a megaphone blaring in both ears for me. I went from doing absolutely no physical activity and eating out of a bag for every meal to cooking all my own food and working out 5 times a week. I'd recommend Elite Edge to anyone in need of motivation to improve their body composition. If you've never stepped foot in a gym before, it's a great way to get started. Before you start, they give you very simple diet guidelines to follow. Even if you know nothing about nutrition, you'll be just fine. Everything is laid out for you, it's just up to you whether you follow it or not.
I did the six-week challenge, and succeeded - losing over 28 lbs (222.9 lbs to 194.7 lbs). I'm a former college football player, and I was lifting five times a week on my own. I'd been doing that for years, but I've always wanted to decrease my body fat and improve my body composition. Elite Edge gave me the motivation and coaching through the six-week challenge to do just that.
The gym has a great open layout, and the workouts are always clearly laid out for you on a giant marker board up front. Every session, the trainer goes through what the workout of the day includes, and demonstrates every movement for you so nobody is confused on what means what. How heavy of weights you use (or if you want to use weights at all) is totally up to you. Many of the exercises are done with bodyweight.
The workouts are timed, so you're guaranteed to be in and out within an hour. This is great, because we are all busy with family, work, etc. The trainers are great people, making it impossible to leave without having a good time. You jam out to music during the entirety of the session, and the music (in my opinion) was always awesome.
Give this place a try if you're serious about wanting to make some healthy changes in your life.

I took the 6 week 20 pound challenge and lost 21 pounds ending on Oct 7th. I have struggled with weight loss all my life. I just graduated from nursing school this summer and while in school, it was so hard to focus on personal health and weight loss, so when I came across an advertisement of this challenge on Facebook, I did some research on what it was and decided to go to an orientation for more information. I was intrigued the moment I walked into the gym. The staff were very welcoming from the get-go. I was a little discouraged by the deposit for the challenge and then got really nervous because, could I really lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks to get that money back? As the weeks went by, I didn't even really care if I got the money back because what I was "gaining" as in the inches lost, how I was fitting in my clothes and new ones, and how I was mentally feeling, was something I feel you can't put a dollar amount on. The diet plan was very trying and very difficult, but I had to reach out to my coaches several times, even daily at times to remind me that the food was fuel, not comfort, and took every day at a time and plugged through it. I had to remind myself what my "why" was and "why I started." The guys and gal at West Des Moines are simply amazing and I cherish everything they have given me and helped me achieve. The workouts are absolutely amazing!! From the first day to the last day of the challenge, I cannot explain to you how much stronger I was to complete certain exercises that I completely struggled with the first day and went home crying, but I was back the next day and kept going and it got easier and now I love going!! I will recommend this place to anyone. All you have to do is believe in yourself, the coaches, and above all, you HAVE TO TRUST THE PROCESS, AND FTDI!!!

Starting this 6 week challenge was very difficult for me, to get motivated again and back in to the shape I thought I should be. Throughout the entire process, everyone (instructors, participants, members, etc.) have been fantastic to keep you motivated, help with your diet, and make it a great environment to be at (even at 5 am every morning). I would highly recommend this for everyone, no matter what type of shape you are in. If you are sitting there saying to yourself "I really need to do something," like I was, put all your doubts aside, its tough, but make that first step and go see what its about. You will love the process and the results at the end of the journey-JUST STICK WITH IT! I was very hesitant because I was out of shape and didn't want to struggle-but everyone is there for the same reason, and I'm so glad I did it!!

6 WEEK CHALLENGE. I just finished my 6 week challenge and ended up down 24.4 lbs. I appreciate the help of the coaches and trainers- in particular Brady Wheelock, Chico, Ryan Ethan Clarke, Sydney Barber, and Eddie Mack. This program was a great learning tool, especially for nutrition in my case. They outlined an eating plan with specific guidelines. It was hard to overcome my habit of eating only 1 meal per day, but I now feel much better after learning to eat several smaller meals that are nutritionally dense. I learned to look at food as fuel for my body. On the workout side- I enjoyed learning some new moves! And the coaches/trainers took time to make sure everyone was using proper form. There were all levels of participants, so that seemed very important to me- as a former college football player, I know how easy it is to get hurt if you aren't using the correct technique. Not gonna lie, I didn't always love the cardio sessions but realize that it all works together. I don't plan on going for any random sprints anytime soon, though. I learned to work through all my muscle groups. As a man I had concentrated on my arms almost exclusively. The coaches showed me that it's much better to have all around tone and even workout for the whole bod. Elite Edge had 10 or 11 time slots you could attend Monday through Friday and an option of 2 times Saturday morning and a couple of different at home routines mapped out. I took advantage of them all with my crazy work schedule. My 2 not as positive observations are the price and the delay of the South Side opening. Closest place for me was 20 miles one way- which made it a little harder. I hear the Southside will be open soon. That all being said, it was worth every dime for me. I haven't felt this strong and healthy in many years. Also want to shout out to all my fellow participants and future participants......GOOD CHOICE! Way to make the hard decision to take care of yourself!

It is official, I have completed the Elite Edge 6 week Challenge. I have to say it was a great experience as I have never done anything like this! I did not hit the 20lb mark, which I knew was pretty aggressive... but I feel great. Overall, I lost 13 lbs. For those of you who know me well, know that I really do not like exercise much.....thus being one of the main reasons I signed up for the challenge.
My goal was to get fit, to have a workout routine, be held accountable, to loose lbs and inches, to build some muscle, and to have basically my rear kicked into shape! With the help of Eddie Mack, Daeshaun Mcfalls, Sydney Barber, Ryan Ethan Clark, Brady Wheelock, & all the other participants in the 6 week and back-to-school challenges I received all of it! I love the environment at EE, no workout was the same, they tailored the workouts to each persons ability and were always there for one on one instruction and coaching.
