We are starting our 8th year with Encore Dance Academy and could not imagine being anywhere else! Over the years our daughter has taken recreation only classes and has added in competition team and classes. During all of her classes the teachers are kind, compassionate and loving while still pushing our daughter to be the BEST version of herself (in and out of the studio)! It's taken me some time to mentally draft this review. We spent 15 years of our lives with Encore.

My daughter didn't do competition dance. Some days, it seemed like she wasn't even really interested in dance. Other days, she was graceful, focused, determined. However she arrived at her dance classes, her teachers embraced her where she was. They built her up and loved her. They are as much a part of our family as our cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

She has shared how much fun she's had through the years. She's had amazing opportunities to grow and shine. She learned as much about dance technique as she has about friends, how to maneuver challenges, and how to push herself through difficulties. I am grateful to Miss Evie and her staff for the friendship, mentorship and love they've shown my family over the years.

They know how to push their students to improve while also creating long lasting relationships. Encore Dance Academy is a wonderful studio that not only teaches dance technique but also teaches children and teens life lessons (working as a team, follow through, community involvement, and tenacity, to name a few). Most loving, fun and inclusive dance studio you could ask for! I signed up as a dancer my senior year during the studios very first year in business (2006), after graduating I missed dance so much I started teaching there, I now have my own daughter who dances at the studio and I am so grateful for the friendships we have both made. All of the teachers are loving and caring towards every parent and kid and the owner, Miss Evie has the most bubbly personality and upbeat demeanor you've ever seen. This is the perfect family oriented studio, while they have a successful competition team, it is not the focus of the studio nor is anyone pressured to join competition. The goal of the studio has always been to teach dance in a fun and positive atmosphere while also building confidence and character in every student.

EDA has helped my girls feel more confident in themselves, find joy in dance (& oh boy do I see the techniques they learn at home!), and learn to support others. I like how they have older girls support the younger ones in various ways. It really helps build a family feel. I also appreciate many aspects of the recital - one of the things is that there's free streaming for family far away. I'm so glad we landed here when I began searching for a dance studio!

I have kept quiet for awhile, but this studio has gone downhill over the years. They preach love and acceptance and friendship, but if someone leaves the studio they exile them and refuse to acknowledge them at competitions. This is not true of everyone at the studio, but over the years since I left in 2014 I keep hearing more horror stories about this studio. Mass exodus of students happen yearly because the owner is judgmental, unforgiving, and degrading. The owner has been known to body shame, tell students that they are not allowed to interact with students who have left, and spreads rumors about both dancers (YOUNG dancers) and their parents. My family left the studio by choice and the owner told students that she has kicked us out and spread rumors about us. Just overall, not a good environment. Look elsewhere for the sake of your child’s self esteem. They throw some pretty nasty insults at young, impressionable dancers.

this is a review from a former student at encore, and i'm sure it'll be deleted because it's coming from me. i absolutely loved the environment here, but only for the first year or two. i was at encore for 4, maybe 5 years. after my first/second year i noticed rude comments were being made towards me. things such as the following
"she said it was a toxic environment so i'm assuming that's about you"
"i need to see your abs to see if you can have a two piece"
"yeah you might want it to be high waisted"
and so many more. i would never make a negative review because i know everybody's experiences are different, but after our competition with both my new and old studios last weekend, and the entire time we were getting looked up and down in our costumes. the owner told her current students who we made relationships with that i personally still cherish, weren't allowed to speak to us or watch us dance. it breaks my heart that i couldn't even say hi to some of the kids i love forever. my other issue is the recent post on encores page. it was directed at my new studio. the unprofessionalism at encore is too much. until the post today which was 100% body shaming us, i thought that everything was going well and the competition was good. looks like i was wrong. we as teenagers are being more professional than SOME of the staff and SOME of the parents at encore. thank you to the staff, parents, and kiddos who still love us. we all miss them so much. please, do not enroll.

We love Encore! This is my daughter's third year dancing and tumbling here. Right from the start everyone at Encore was welcoming, positive and encouraging. She was 3 and very shy when she started. Her first teacher just scooped her up and carried her right on into the classroom. She needed that and hadn't looked back since. To see her have so much fun on stage at the end of the year was amazing! And to see her confidence now is so awesome. In addition to teaching dance, Miss Evie also models how to be a good person. From different service projects they do together to donations to different organizations throughout the year, to having the older girls help the younger girls, Encore is the total package.

My oldest is starting her 4th year at Encore and my youngest is starting in the PK class this year. We love that the studio teachers, staff, and other families feel like family! Going into our third year at Encore, and have loved it from the beginning. I have been with Encore for 7 years now and I am so lucky and blessed to call EDA home. The progress that our dancers reach each year is amazing. Encore Dance Academy has been our dance home for seven years. Miss Evie is simply amazing! She is so bubbly and energetic. Her positivity is projected onto her dancers and parents.
