Be careful. Intense kickboxing without proper technique as used by Farrell's can lead to knee injuries (torn meniscus), which can take years of treatment and/or surgery to repair.

Also, the vibe is a bit cult-like. If you like it...great, but it's not for everyone.

I walked into Farrells’s the first time not really knowing what kickboxing was. I had a lot of gym anxiety and having not worked out consistently since high school. I was nervous about trying something new, but new that I wanted a healthier life style. Turns out walking through those doors was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I now work out consistently 5 days a weeks and it’s not a chore anymore I enjoy going and when I can’t make a day or can’t do an at home workout I really find myself missing it. I couldn’t say enough great things about Farrells. The owner is great, the instructors are great, and the people are all great. I’m really great full I stepped out of my comfort zone and walked through the doors the first time which was the hardest part hands down.

I have had an incredible experience at Ames Farrells! I have tried tons of other exercise programs, and I quit every single one until I tried Farrells. Now I’ve been at Farrells for 7 years and I still love it! The instructors are wonderful, and everyone is welcoming and inviting. I love the personalized attention I get through the Farrells program. We are truly a family there! I love that we have friendly competitions every couple of months to keep us engaged and interacting with one another. I’ve met some of my best friends at Farrells, and I am so grateful for this gym!

I joined Ames FXB originally because my fianćee wanted to look better for our wedding next year. I was hesitant at first because I had already reached a point in my life where I was pretty self-motivated to work out. However, joining the Farrell's in Ames was an incredible decision for three reasons. 1) Everyone at Ames FXB, whether it's coaches, instructors, or other members, make you feel like part of a fitness family and make you want to show up to class everyday. 2) Joni and the instructors are very good at meeting new members at their fitness level. I had no prior kickboxing experience when I joined, but because of the instructors at Ames FXB I quickly felt more comfortable pushing myself on the bags while keeping good technique. 3) The 10-week challenge is the most comprehensive fitness plan I've ever completed. The program uses a great balance of cardio through kickboxing, strength-training with resistance bands, and nutritional guidance to help members reach their health goals. If you're considering to take the next step in your health/fitness journey, Farrell's eXtreme BodyShaping Ames is a wonderful place to do just that!

You won’t want to stop after day one!

Are you trying to find a workout that fits your busy schedule and gives you the results that you are wanting? Well have I got the work out for you, Ferrell’s Extreme Body Shaping. This workout is absolutely perfect for anyone looking to trim down their body and gain lean muscle. This workout is for anyone of all ages, strength abilities, and endurance levels. You will find that Ferrell’s Extreme Body Shaping is easy to fit in your everyday schedule. The quality of the workout will make the price you pay more than worth it.

Convenience:
The best part about Ferrell’s is the convenience of the workout. Not only is it in the same town that I live in but they offer multiple classes throughout the day. Whether you are someone who likes to get your workout done before you start your day or someone who likes to do it during their lunch break, Ferrell’s has it all. Their first class of the day begins at 5:15 p.m. and the last class is offered at 7:15 p.m. One of the key factors most people consider when looking into a workout is how well it’s going to fit into their schedule. For me, being enrolled as a full time student at a University while working two internships is a lot to take on so the time of the workout is really important.

Price:
The first thing that comes to most people’s mind when thinking about a new workout or a change in their everyday workout routine is the price or the workout. Price is such an important factor for many people whether you work full time, go to school, or even are a stay at home parent. This is where Ferrell’s may not be the absolute best decision for someone. When first looking into Ferrell’s you will find that the current starting price for the ten-week session is $500. But don’t let the price scare you away. The benefits out way the cost. Luckily before each ten-week session, Ferrell’s runs a promotion for $200 off. Even with that discount the price of $300 all at once is a lot for someone to give up. The way I look at it though and I think others should to, is even though you’re spending a lot of money on your workout just for an hour workout a day, think about how much you are benefiting yourself for the future. This $300 could save you $3,000 later in life with medical bills for things such as obesity or bad blood pressure. Staying active and healthy is only going to benefit you and make the investment well worth it. the best part is once you have completed the 10 week challenge you can then become a monthly member and pay in multiple different ways. For example, you can either pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. The price starts at $60 a month for annually and decreases as you make more of a commitment to Ferrell's.

Quality:
The quality of the workout is what made my final decision about joining Ferrell's. The staff is outstanding. Each member of the staff was inviting and extremely helpful. One of the coaches helped me find the $300 coupon and let me know about the free week I could get to try out the classes and make sure it was something I wanted to commit to. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays your workout is mainly kickboxing. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays consist of strength training. During kickboxing they are always changing up the workouts and making everyday different helping you get your cardio in while working out those muscles to gain that muscle. On strength training days they have you keeping your heart beat up while working different areas of the body, different days of the week.

I’d recommend this workout to absolutely anyone, fit or not. You can only better yourself with this workout class. The quality and convenience out ways the cost of the first 10 weeks and proves that this workout provides more than their leading competition!
