After a stressful week, I participated in a Restorative Sound Bath, led by Valarie. This was my first experience with this practice and I was so moved by the experience. My husband and I attended Valarie’s meditation and gentle yoga class Saturday morning. We are always in search of holistic wellness we can enjoy together. When I say this is a little hidden gem in the heart of downtown Marion, WOW! It was everything I hoped it would be. It was welcoming, calming and intentional.

We started class with Cacao (which she explains the rich benefits), setting intentions and gentle yoga stretches as we still focused on our breath and bringing awareness back to ourselves. We finished out the class with a meditation. Even In downtown Marion it felt like I was on a dreamy retreat.

You can see the joy yoga and meditation brings to Valarie and this is just not another yoga class. This was elevated experience that left me feeling grounded, at peace, and my heart open to new experiences.

I am grateful to have Golden Aura in Marion. I have attended a variety of classes by Valarie for a few years now and she continues to elevate her craft, knowledge and passion.

My wife and I attended Valarie’s morning meditation & gentle yoga class. I found it very intentional from beginning to end!

I have never experienced a class with such a perfectly balanced mixture of intention, meditation and yoga combined! Loved having started the class with a cup of cocoa, which Valarie explained in full cocoa’s rich history and meaning! Both of my daughters got their ears pierced by JR. And it was such a great experience. He took the time to talk to them about what the process was going to be, was honest when it came to the pain, and showed them the instruments he was going to use. One of my girls was ready to go and got it done the first time, while the other needed a few visits to build up the courage to do it. JR wouldn't perform the piercing until they were both 100% comfortable with their decision and was not pushy at all.
He showed me the sanitization machine and had me sign the sanitization card to prove that it was the instruments we was going to use and not swap them out for something else. Very very thorough. I also felt 100% comfortable with the cleanliness and grade of earrings he offered.
I am so glad I took them to JR and would highly recommend Golden Aura.

The team here is amazing as always! If you want a piercing and want it done right, Golden Aura is the place in Marion for you.

The piercers are held to the Association of Professional Piercer standards which far exceed the state and general industry requirements.

The shop space is bright and open with large, private rooms for piercings. It is a very calming atmosphere and overall beautiful. You can tell that much care and thought were put in to the designing of the space.

Yes there are cheaper places you can go, but you pay for quality, attention to detail, and unique expertise that the staff has along with the personalized experience. You get the entire process explained to you and have the chance to ask any questions you may have.

They use implant grade titanium and gold so that it minimizes the chances of allergic reactions to metals (which as someone sensitive to most metals is very useful). The jewelry is always top tier and there is a wide variety to choose from.

Overall I HIGHLY recommend this studio and they will always hold a special place in my heart.

Very clean and professional! My seven year old getting her ears pierced felt very comfortable because of JR's professional, yet relatable manner. Having taken another child to a place that used a piercing gun, I highly recommend Golden Aura for kids getting their ears pierced. The difference is how it's done is night and day. Everything was so clean and sterile. I can't imagine we'll have any trouble with infection or changing out earrings when she is able to do so.

Had the absolute most amazing experience at Golden Aura!!! Not only did i feel so incredibly welcome the second i walked in, i felt just as comfortable. Andy did my piercing... could have fooled me that he is an apprentice. The chemistry and comrade between him and JR was outstanding. I felt like i could be myself. JayR has been my go to Piercer in Cedar Rapids since I started getting pierced in 2017. He is one of the most knowledgeable, kind, caring, and relatable Piercer I know.
Every appointment I have had with him has been a great experience. My questions (which are many) are all answered. I am treated with the upmost respect. He makes sure the placement of the piercing is within the alignment of my anatomy and preferred positioning too.
The shop has a bright and cheery atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and safe as soon as you enter the door. The jewelry selection is still growing but the available choices are great and can be somewhat modified/customized too.
If you are new to piercings or a veteran of the needle. JayR and co. Are the best in the Cedar Rapids/Marion district.

My daughter and I went there for a consultation today. we heard there's a piercing to help migraines / anxiety. After talking to JayR we were convinced that was the place to get it gone. I scheduled a Reiki and Biomat session today, but received so much more than that. Valerie is AMAZING! I have received several holistic therapies over the past 11 years, from several different providers and this was right up towards the top. I feel lighter, clearer, and more grounded, present and empowered than I have in a very long time. I HIGHLY recommend and can not wait for my next session!
