Singing up with Hotworx was one of the best decisions I've ever made!! I've been a member since June of 2023 and Hotworx has helped me to love working out again. I use to have terrible gym anxiety in busy gyms where I didn't have the knowledge on how to train properly and safely. Hotworx workouts have taught me how to get a great workout in a short amount of time, and my body feels amazing after I leave! I also have restless leg syndrome which the saunas have helped with tremendously. While being a full time college student working two jobs, this studio empowered me to gain control of my health and lifestyle again, not to mention the flexibility of the 24/7 access! I’m very disappointed with my experience at Coralville HOTWORX, particularly regarding their rigid two-month cancellation policy. After developing health issues, my doctor instructed me to stop doing any HOTWORX workouts immediately. I informed the owner, Tara, and offered to provide a medical note to support my situation.

Despite this, she told me I would still be responsible for two additional months of payment because I had signed my contract in 2023. When I tried to discuss it further, she said—rather harshly—“When you signed the contract in 2023, you were clearly healthy.” I was genuinely taken aback by that comment and her overall tone.

I understand that businesses need policies, but there should be some level of compassion and flexibility when legitimate medical issues are involved. Unfortunately, Tara was very short and dismissive with me, and I left the conversation feeling disrespected and completely unheard.

I truly enjoyed the workouts while I was able to do them. However, the lack of empathy and professionalism I experienced has left me deeply disappointed. I would not recommend this location to anyone who expects respectful customer service or may face unforeseen health circumstances.

Love the workouts, easy to schedule and conveniently available! I've had such good progress and results. Just wish they took better care of the physical space. The saunas are always full of hair or mysterious things (which you spend half your time on the floor so it's very noticeable) and the bathrooms are often dirty, definitely would never use the showers.

I recently tried Hotworx free trial workout and I fell in love with it. I am a person who regularly works out/ but after a season of losing several family members in a few short months, going to the gym was not a priority. Hotworx not only helped me regain my desire to exercise- it helped my mental health immensely. Update: As a business owner, you should have some level of understanding when people move out of state or just want to change their membership to save a few dollars.

Beware. This place locks you in for 5 months and has zero understanding when life happens and plans change. I’ve been a member in Ohio and I was a member of THIS Hotworx last year. I decided to try again in March of this year because I was moving and wanted to be able to go to the location in Plainfield, IL as well, while I was in the process of moving to Illinois. I moved back to Coralville within the month and asked if I could switch to the solo location membership since this was the only studio I would be using. I was told no because I was in my initial 90 days. How is it my initial 90 days if I’ve been a member twice before?

I’ve maybe used this studio 5X in the past few months and they won’t help me just cancel. Not to mention, I was pressured to apply for their virtual instructor contest a year ago, and when i submitted my video, I was told there were too many contestants this year. Don’t waste your time here.

On top of that, the worker said I could cancel now if I pay $99 cancellation fee. I was JUST charged $84 less than a week ago. I should be able to use the membership for the month, and she said I couldn’t. Why would I pay nearly $200 to cancel if I can’t even use my membership a few more times? I asked if I could give notice since it’s been nearly 3 months of paying for something I’m not using. She said no and I had to tell them on the 18th of June. I asked to put an alert and to handle it. Switch me to the sweat only here membership so that this place doesn’t take more of my money. AND THEN CANCEL! They only let you try the studio one time before you can decide to lock yourself in for 5 months. And not budge.

Did just an intro workout-Pilates. Screen was very high for me to see while lying on the floor. It was not Pilates as I’ve done in the past by certified instructors. Person showing me did not tell me where the foam rollers were so missed that part of the video completely

You cannot beat the 24 hour -- 365 days open infrared heat studio which offers (Spin, Yoga, Pilates, Bands, Barre...) plus they have a weight room with free weights and machines. Owner is professional, friendly, and keeps her studio super clean.

I’m not going to lie, it’s nice having a 24 hour gym and the place is very cleanly but most of the workouts are similar & not very extensive either. The yoga and Pilates (which is why I signed up) doesn’t offer much. I feel like they are Simply for beginners.

I signed up during a promotion so I only paid the $90 dollar start up fee, but then they charged me 5 days later for my monthly membership. So technically I didn’t get a deal.

When I signed up I was told it was a 3 month requirement, so I was very hesitant to even start. I was also told it was a 30 day notice which is very normal but I wanted to end my membership I was THEN told it’s a 60 days termination. 😒 I wouldn’t forget something like that as this was a big splurge for me.

I'm so obsessed with this fitness studio! It checked every box on my gym wish list - 24 hour access, virtual instructors, saunas and free weights! I can already feel myself becoming stronger and I'm bummed when I can't get my Hotworx workout in. I love tracking my calorie burn and competing with other members. Tara and her staff are great.
