We love our time spent at the Wellness Center. So much to do. Great place. Highly recommended for families. Day care is great. Two pools are so nice. All of the employees are incredibly nice.

We bought a day pass and spent a few hours in the smaller of the two pools. The water was warmed and we had a fun time and worked on swimming techniques with our little kids. Not too crowded either.

Would not recommend the gym if you want to go with any consistency, want updated equipment, want to use good quality cardio machines, or enjoy basketball at all. Equipment at the gym has not been updated in years. I left for over two years and came back because I wanted a basketball court, and no updated equipment or investment in the facility. Basketball court constantly has pickleball players. The bathrooms have the same dirty nasty stained walls they had when I left. And now to top it off, they are closing on Sundays- not even going to attempt to reduce the hours to allow those that want to come to come. It’s a joke!

Not worth going anymore truthfully, the basketball gym is constantly overtaken by old people playing pickleball and i got shoved off the court within 30 minutes without notice. truly annoyed by this and wont come back for a very long time

Way too expensive and not very much equipment, pay for an expensive membership and pool is closed half the time. Staff is very rude. Place is a joke

I was a member here since December 2019 and generally found the facilities acceptable—until recently. A staff member suddenly told me to cover up my sports bra and leggings, even though I’d worn similar outfits for years without issue. Meanwhile, many men still work out in cutoff tank tops that expose far more skin without reprimand. Adding to the confusion, the pool area is visible from the gym floor, where people are in swimwear—so it’s unclear why a sports bra suddenly became a problem. Management later agreed my attire was acceptable and said they’d reeducate staff, but I no longer wish to support the IWC.
On the positive side, the gym offers a variety of group classes, cardio equipment, and weights. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. Ultimately, any positives were overshadowed by the inconsistent enforcement of the dress code. If you’re considering joining, be aware that you may encounter confusing rules that are unevenly applied and can feel discriminatory.

Great facility with wide variety of equipment. Swimming lanes are available along with racketball, basketball, and walking track. Facility is clean and feels safe. Staff is friendly.

My concern is why on earth would you close the small pool at Wellness Center before the one in town opens up...Only Indianola would do something that makes no sense....

Our favorite place of exercise. Very good place for exercising, from pool to exercising tracks, weights, basketball game, and exercising class. Very reasonable prices. I recommend this place to everyone, who want to sport or increase exercising abilities. Thank you

I really like this gym. Staff is very friendly. All areas are clean, and continually wiped down to prevent the spead of germs. Lots of different weights, and machines for most all your needs. 2 pools, but I haven't used them yet, lots to do in there.

Locker room, gymnasium and workout equipment all are excellent. Lack of working TVs in treadmills is a little annoying. Not a huge deal as I am listening to music on YouTube Music during my workout.

Things were great until the increased price by almost 4x without telling us. They claim they notified us and told my wife when she was in there but never did. Recommend finding somewhere else to get a membership because this has gone downhill drastically since changing from YMCA to the Indianola Wellness Center.

The Indianola Wellness Campus was formerly the Indianola YMCA. Since July 2023, it has been operated by the City of Indianola with the same great staff and facilities as before. The gym offers a good variety of group exercise classes. There are two pools, gym, and various exercise machines. Great place to workout.
