I was diagnosed with CMT with bilateral foot drop about 9 years ago. I've joined another gym and thought I was doing a good job on getting/staying in shape. At least I thought I was.
I finally decided too quit making excuses and I joined JT Training for the four week program.
At first I was feeling intimidated but Maci, Chelsea, and Dena all helped me through each section and provided another way of doing that certain wkout if I couldn't do it. Plus the other members would be very encouraging, saying, "Good Job, or high five."
I was totally amazed on how intense the workouts are, but I love pushing myself too be better. Yesterday, I finally was able too lift 20# barbell a few times.

I love JT! It’s nothing like your traditional gym experience. It’s better!! I’ve never once felt judged or uncomfortable here. Everyone is so kind and helpful. It really feels like a big family. I also love that the classes are group sessions with pre drawn up workouts. You never have to struggle deciding what areas you want to train. You will definitely see results.

In response to owners post below...

I was told in our first in-person meeting there was a money back guarantee. That is why I am asking for it.

I did reach out early on (starting 5/27) to express concerns and request a refund, I was repeatedly talked out of it and encouraged to “give it time.” I emailed again on 5/30 with no response. I believe that is when I finally received a call back from the owner? I texted on 6/17 asking again for a refund and was told, “we need to see you in shape – no excuses.” I explained why I was unhappy and reiterated my request. On 6/19, I was told to come in and talk in person — I declined and asked again for a refund. On 6/23, I received a message about a “reset,” not a refund.

I asked directly on 6/25 if I would be getting my money back. No response. But when I left a Google review on 6/27, I got a reply the next day — which says a lot about priorities.

I’m not writing this to be spiteful, just feel misled and taken advantage of, this was a good chunk of money ($699) — I just want a refund.

When exploring the 6-week challenge, I was receiving phone calls and emails immediately to get me in the door. Once I signed up (paid $699) for the class, I felt like I was left hanging. I had to ask about the meal plan (it was emailed to me, but didn’t know that’s how it was going to work). No one explained the flow of class, warm up was 2 minutes, the coach explained each station on 10 seconds, no modifications were provided or shown. I was 6 weeks postpartum so looking for more support (thought I would get it from the presentation, was not). When I reached out when I was in happy it took DAYS for a response and was told to just get in the gym. And the only solution to my problems was to restart my 6-weeks.

If you’re looking for a gym atmosphere where people include you, talk to you, or an owner that will respond, don’t go here. So disappointed that for $699 this is the quality of service I received and I’ve been a member to a few gyms in town and never experienced anything like this.

In March I spent a night in the hospital because of high blood pressure. I joined JT training the following Monday…I haven’t missed a weekday since. I joined because I knew my habits needed to change, but I’m staying for so many reasons beyond that. Marci is so kind in her correction and ready to help when you’re unsure of proper form or how to do an exercise. All the members are so positive and excited for me to be there…it’s such a neat atmosphere. I’m always so encouraged when I leave. I understand why some members do more than one workout a day, it’s such a fun place to be. It’s an investment, but so far the return is far beyond what I imagined. I can’t wait to see what my life is like on April 11, 2026…my body abs mind have changed so much in just 6 weeks, I know I will be transformed in 1 year.

I just completed JT Training's 8-week challenge, and it was a life-changer! Before starting, I was overweight, my clothes didn’t fit right, I would get winded just from climbing stairs, and that was a big wake up call. Now, I feel like a new person! I went through an 8 week program at JT Training between March and May in 2023. I was looking for something to get me back into a fitness routine after I'd been out of the game for a few years due to being in graduate school. While it was effective in accomplishing this specifically for me, it was because I did not enjoy the experience at JT Training as much as I hoped I would. What I thought would be a unique and more collaborative fitness program based on the website and testimonies, turned out to be very generic. Coupled with an inconvenient location with poor parking availability, lack of showering facilities, and the price point being astronomically high for the services offered, I can't recommend this gym in good consciousness to anyone.

I do have many specific grievances if you care to read further:

Since the gym is not upfront about it's price, I'll air out the dirty laundry. The regular monthly rate if you don't agree to be locked in for 5 years is over $300 a month after tax. Even if you do agree to a long term contract, it's still $100 a month.

The "personalized" meal plan was very obviously the same packet of recipes and tips that everyone gets. This isn't a unique problem. Every gym/trainer/weight loss program I've ever been through that promised a "personalized" meal plan. Just go to a real nutritionist if you need one.

At sign up, I was told that the trainers would be accommodating of an issue with my knee. However, instead the issue got ignored, and the trainers frequently bothered me aggressively for replacing exercises that didn't agitate my knee or for going gentler on it.

There is an aggressive push to post to the social media page, and you also have to agree to your image being used in marketing. JT Training not only gets a minimum $100 a month from you, but you're also serving as additional free marketing for the business.

Communication with the gym's owner can come off as condescending rather than encouraging. It feels like the owner says whatever he can to convince you he's the only person who can help you find your way to being fit. Sure, he has some interesting credentials, but it's all fast talking to pressure you akin to a used car salesman. At the end of my 8 week program when I chose not to continue with a long term membership, instead of wishing me well, the owner only said "You'll be back."

I did not go back. I went back to holding a regular gym membership and continued my weight loss journey more effectively on my own in a place I can listen to and respond to my body.

I had even offered a mostly positive testimony at the time despite it ultimately not working out for me. I didn't lose much more weight that I had in the past. Despite that, I could still see the value in it for a certain kind of person, and I wanted to convey that while being honest that it wasn't for me. But only the perfectly positive parts of the testimony were kept.

I withheld this review while my partner was still holding his membership at JT Training in order to avoid any risk of him experiencing negative backlash from the staff, and to make sure he continued to have a positive experience using their services for his personal fitness goals despite them not working for mine by focusing on the good things with him. He has now had a very poor experience with the gym that I will be keeping private, so I am now sharing my honest opinions to hopefully help others make an informed decision on whether to do business with JT Training. I acknowledge there are many success stories, even within these reviews, but I encourage anyone who is looking to lose weight to use caution when approaching this or any similarly run facility.

My favorite part of JT is no matter age or fitness level, everyone is supported on their own individual health journey. The trainers know everyone by name and encourage you to reach your goals. There are many class times to choose from as well as at home workouts when traveling. The 30 minute workouts are efficient and I’ve had amazing results in a short time. Best gym by far. When I started the 8 week program, I could barely fit into my wedding dress. Today it zipped up easy, and I still have a month left of training before the wedding!!

They have helped me lose weight for my wedding, and an added bonus, I feel STRONG. I LOVE JTs! I never thought I’d be the person to say “I love the gym” yet here I am and if it weren’t for JTs I definitely wouldn’t have that mind set. Best gym to work out at!!! Everyone that goes there feels like family so you never feel judged. And someone is always ready to lift others up; staff or not they seem to want to help each other reach their goals. Owner of the gym is smart on his method and explains how he wants to help and give 160% to help with everyones weight success. By far the best gym i have ever been too.
