I’ve been a member ever since 2017. These last couple of years have been not the best. I come in the mornings and the staff are usually sitting on their phones. Strength room has weights all over , bathrooms are sometimes out of paper towels and toilet paper . The weekend they open at 7 but it’s been becoming more frequent that no one is here to open up the gym. Some of us come early because we have things to do . I don’t know if it’s just the generation these days or if they don’t get paid enough so they don’t care , but it’s becoming really old .

My brother been working out almost 2 year he will always come home happy and talk about how good the manager and the ppl work there but on a day he was lifting heavy wight some guy will always have a problem with him saying he make too loud 🔊 noise he was upset to see ppl don't understand the gym it sad to see him leave a place he call family

I would enjoy this excercise program if they had an I door walking space. I get heal spurs if I use the treadmill so in order to get my walking in I go to the YMCA.

Everything was good until the so called manager who mind you is very condescending and sarcastic follows me to the machine I am at after I scanned my access tag. He starts loudly saying oh I can’t let you workout because you have a overdue payment. Mind you I’ve been a member for more than a year and have never missed a payment and there’s never been a problem with my direct deposit. He than asks me can you pay that with a very snarky attitude. I’m say yes I don’t know what’s wrong or what’s happening I’ve never had a problem. He’s like so can you pay that I just said yes to you so I’m like it ridiculous that you have have to grab me at my machine and point your finger at me like I’m your kid to being me here and charge me. Not to mention he isn’t like this with any of the Caucasian folks that come in to work out. I’ve seen him be that way with Hispanic members were he is less polite. This experience was by far the most unpleasant and unkind. Needless to say I will be canceling my membership

This planet fitness has a very laid back welcoming atmosphere. The Manager and all staff are always kind, knowledgeable and attentive to all needs. The facility is always maintained and very clean. Not sure what more you could ask from a gym. Thanks for a great experience!

When I was using the membership it was worth the price, but if you want to cancel, be sure you do it at least a week before you're going to get charged otherwise they'll charge you for an entire nother month.

Avoid this gym. They charged my account over 400$ which has caused some huge problems. I’ve been fighting to get my money back. I don’t know how a 10$ membership can cost over 400$.

Great price, lots of treadmills/ ellipticals / and bikes which is great. My husband and I both love the hydrobeds as well. Our only complaint is the hours. I understand staffing shortages , really I do. The whole appeal to PF is the 24/5 hours. We work second shift and would always come in after work and do a quick work out. However, we have not been able to do that in months.

Hopefully this issue gets resolved soon.

The staff is very friendly and polite. Took a tour the other day and got to try the hydro massage. I joined the same day. Went back today for my 1st workout at this gym and felt very comfortable versus my previous gym. For the price and benefits this gym is worth it. Look forward to continuing my weight loss and getting healthy journey at this gym.

So here's the score your gym has broken equipment. I understand a week or 2 but both cable machines have been broken for 3 months now. Will change review when the equipment gets repaired. But the amount of time this has gone by without repair is unacceptable for those that pay a due for working equipment. This is dated 1/11/2023

Not sure how this pf has the rating it has, equipment that breaks does not get fixed, was told there is only 1 person in region to do repairs, has not been in Iowa for a long time. A water fountain out of order for months, locker room floors often very dirty while workers play on phone sitting on the front desk, towel holders often empty, water buckets throughout the facility for leaky roof, not a good place to work out.

I have had a membership for at least two weeks now and it has been great. They are very helpful when it comes to what you should do for exercises. I have taken the different classes and they are great. I really enjoy going there and exercising and getting in better shape. They don't judge you at all.

Planet Fitness - Marshalltown is a great place to workout. The gym is clean, the service is top notch, and the equipment is in wonderful shape.

However, what I love the most about this club is the location.

Did you know that it is only a half mile away from the BEST restaurant in Marshalltown?

That's right! Calvin Rockett Bar and Grill is practically right across the street from the gym!

So, if you ever want to reward yourself after a tough workout session at Planet Fitness, you don't have to drive far to accomplish it!

I know that they do not list this as a "perk" when you sign up, but it is worth every penny.

I use this gym every week and enjoy the good selection of equipment. I really enjoy the no Lunk policy as I just want to workout and not be judged. I also enjoy the tootsie rolls on the way out. The hydro massage bed and chair are great after lifting weights. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Owner - It shouldn't be a surprise to you or your team that the TVs don't work. They certainly must know that a majority of them were too dark to see and now they are all simply gone.

Excellent facility, excellent staff. Very polite and down to earth. Only thing holding back from 5 stars is the local 24/5 schedule, not being open on the weekends makes it difficult for me to get in and workout. Another thing that'd be great is some sort of short term child care, similar to what the Y does.
