Do not join this gym. I left my purse in the locker room and over $400 worth of cash and gift cards were stolen from me. Gym was no help, even when my purse mysteriously returned, said they couldn’t show me camera footage of who returned it(and obviously stole from me).

This gym is not secure and they allow disgusting things to happen.

They decided to let teenagers in for free during the summer. Which makes it harder for paying customers to get on the machines.... Very small gym. There is enough equipment to get a good workout in, just hard to work around people. Lot of people just sit on machines on their phones, which is annoying since its such a small place. Lots of waiting because people taking up space not doing anything. Staff is pleasant. Gym is clean. Lacking on maintenence. Stained ceiling tiles, broken machines, usually a toilet or hot water is down.

Started charging my card random amounts that went up to $50+

I haven’t had a planet fitness account in YEARS. When I did it was when I lived 3 HOURS away. I have a gym at my apartment so there’s is no need for me to buy a gym membership. I contacted my credit card company and submitted a claim. planet fitness sent them “proof” that WASN'T even my name!! There is no reason they should be charging anyone, even membership holders, random amounts up to $50+ whenever they want. I don’t know if an employee got ahold of my card and was taking money out through planet fitness or what happened…

Decent place to work out however they do not have working cameras in the building. I had my phone stolen right off the top of the machine where you are to keep your device. The staff did attempt to help me find my phone but it would have been much easier to run back cameras instead of checking every person’s pockets for my phone. I did make out a police report however the phone was never recovered. Cheap place to workout but keep an eye on your stuff while you are working out if you can. (Note it is required to check in the gym with your phone so the last thing I would think someone would steal my phone off a machine was using or at least turn it in if it was lost) after looking in the gym for a hour I noticed in my Apple Watch that the location of my phone was moving. At that time I knew they’ve gotten away with it. Canceling my membership I refuse to work out along side a thief. I’ll take my chances at a new gym. Especially after paying $250 for a replacement phone.

Planet Fitness, in general, is a great gym, and this one is no exception. The equipment is nice and well-maintained, there are a ton of cardio options, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The Locker Rooms are clean and nice.

The only thing preventing me from giving this one the full 5 stars is the fact that it is always busy. Really busy. It isn't a problem if you are going for cardio or even resistance machines, but if you want access to weights or the Smith Machines, it can be a frustrating location.

Just keep that in mind before you head over. Otherwise, good stuff here!

I enjoy going to this location. The people are friendly and the site is clean. Rarely have to wait to use equipment even when it's busy.
Not sure if dogs are allowed, but there was a dog with its owner. This was not a Service Dog, as they are required to display that they are a Service Dog.
This dog had a vest with only its name on it, but was definitely not appropriately represented as a Service Dog if it was.

Great gym with some minor fixable issues. Love the cleanliness, the convenience, and the staff. My PF Black membership is well worth it. The Hydromassage is amazing. Biggest complaint is people just sitting around on the equipment texting on their phones or looking at social media. Talking on a speaker phone while you're working out right next to someone is also a problem. I've addressed this with the staff, yet they seem reluctant to rectify these problems. Should be an easy fix if only Planet Fitness would implement some policies on phone usage in the workout ares... and enforce them.

I came in during the month of June and cancelled my membership, the staff asked if I wanted to pause instead I said no thank you. They had me sign to agree to cancel my membership, explaining I had no fees or anything to worry about. Well 3 months go by and I get charged an annual membership fee and a monthly fee for a membership. I go in to clarify why this is happening and the assistant manager informed me they paused my membership instead of canceling it. They refused to reimburse me for their mistake and even fought me on trying to cancel my membership still. I had to convince the assistant manager to let me cancel it.

Overall, seems like any other place. But the staff makes the difference. Manager is horrible and un professional. Ive been out the state for a while and cant physically go to the location to cancel. Was told on the phone dont worry we will take care of it.
Im still being charged and found out from the bank that there is fraud attached to this charge. Dont ask to speak to anyone with authority, you will only get as far as the manager.
I have taken the time to mass email everyone in my company with my experience and encourage them to go other places.

We travel a lot so have visited many PF’s across the country. This one is clean, people were polite and for the first time in a long time, people were not just sitting on their phones on the machines.

The abs mat area is SUPER small tho but I did manage to find a spot. Lockers require a padlock fyi (some gyms use a resettable code). They also sell quest chips for $3.50 which I haven’t regularly at others.

Hot water doesn't work. They had the water shut off this morning for repairs, and the water is back on now, but still no hot water.

Decent variety of machines at this location and they have more than one of most of them. So far the members have been very polite and don't get in each other's way too much, except for the people that feel they need to take 5 minutes in between sets while they stare at their phone. Also, make sure to change in the private changing stalls, because TONS of people take photos and videos in the locker room.

Planet Fitness keeps their gyms pretty clean, which is refreshing since I left Genesis because of how dirty it was. I got the black card membership and so far it's been worth the money.

All the smith machines are facing the wrong direction, the orientation of the mirrors are all off as well. Instead of one continuous mirror that stretches the entire length of the wall they are segmented. 4 out of 6 Smith machine are are inbetween these mirror segments along with other equipment that sits behind the smith machines, so it makes you ask your self what's the point in even hanging mirrors if you can't watch your form? Same thing in the free weight section, you have to place a bench close to another person just to be in sight of a mirror. There is no scale in the locker room as well, and this place has been pretty busy the past few times I've went. Other than that, it's a very clean environment, very large, nice equipment to use and you don't have to rob plates from other machines unlike the location south of this one. The lighting is extremely nice in this establishment, they keep a nice bright amber color throughout the entire building. Now if we could just get planet fitness to go back to a 24/7 schedule we would be in good shape and it would gain another star on this review. Fix all the other issues and I'd rate it 5/5.

Signed up last year at this location (Urbandale). I went in to cancel my membership and they said they can’t do that because I signed up in Rosedale MN. I have NEVER been to Minnesota in my life but apparently I can’t cancel unless I go to the Minnesota location in person myself. What a scam! I guess this is how they hold onto members now. This PF is one of my favorites, and I visit many across the U.S. It’s very clean, and has sooooo MUCH equipment. I’m never fighting for a space somewhere. They have all the newer cardio machines, too. The only thing negative I’ve noticed here is the staff is a bit… rude? Multiple times I’ve said good morning and was met with silence and a blank stare. I distinctly remember being told that if I signed up for the more premium plan there would be no buyout fee whenever I cancel. Had to show up in person to cancel, because they won't let you can cancel on the phone or on the app. They demanded I pay a $62 buyout fee even tho I'm positive I was told that was waived with the more expensive "black card" membership. That was one of the main reasons I went with the more expensive plan, I knew life was gonna get busier and I wouldn't always have the time. The whole cancelation process felt super scammy.

Highly recommend. They have a great variety of equipment that is never down for very long when repairs are needed. Staff keeps the facility very clean and is always very helpful. The one thing I would like to see happen is signs placed throughout the gym stating no texting or phone use while using a piece of equipment. The manager here is awful. She has a really big attitude problem. I called up asked them how to cancel my membership they told me to come in. I had to come inside. I went into the one in Urbandale and I originally signed up at the one in SE. 14th St. Which I don’t even live over by there anymore she told me I have to go there and I told her that it wasn’t right and then I was going to be very upset because I drove all the way there. She told me well you signed a contract. I told her I was going to turn her into the Better Business Bureau in which I am Because I don’t have time to keep driving around town and I keep taking money out of my account. I understand I signed but I’ve also been trying to cancel this membership and it is very difficult to do and they’re making me drive now. Again clear across town to cancel I would never recommend this place And the girl is really bad at being a manager Because she was trying to instigate the problem and get me more upset. She had a lot to say to me when I was out the door and a good manager wouldn’t talk loud and rude while I’m clearly leaving possible she is too young for her position and/or doesn’t realize that I just drove clear across town after being told to come into the Planet Fitness that I called.
